The fmc, Sophie, decides to go to school, so her father fires her. She quickly loses her savings, meaning she needs help with the bills. Myles, the mmc, is looking to move out of his parents house. He offers to move in and help out financially with bills and rent. Sophie is interested in that offer, but after their history from 6 months ago, she is debating on whether it would work out. She accepts, he moves in, and their journey begins.
This was such a fun, quick, and easy read. Everything flowed so well together, and I love how the characters were written. However, I do wish that some of the sexual scenes were cut out. There were just too much for me personally. Regardless, I loved this story and how everything played out. And there were definitely some tears shed. I recommend everyone to read this!!
I’m glad that Nicole mentioned sobriety, and the steps Myles needed to take after realizing he needed help. Instead of him continuing to spiral, he actually received help. It made myles feel like such a strong and realistic character. The situation and how Nicole describes alcoholism, AA, and the serious effects of alcoholism is definitely realistic. I’m glad that the temptations and relapses are mentioned, since it’s a part of recovery a lot of people face.
The mmc and fmc were exactly what each other needed. Sophie calms his thoughts, and supports him by never leaving his side, even when he’s going through his worst. Myles comforts Sophie when she’s feeling embarrassed, and having doubts.
Thank you, Nicole and Simply Write, for my ARC copy of this book to review!
