Alpine Peak #2

Final Temptation

Rate this book
“There are always going to be temptations in life—some in the form of love, and some in the form of evil.”

SOPHIE
There were two things I never thought I’d experience in my lifetime: getting fired—by my own dad—and falling for the biggest playboy in Alpine Peak. One unforgettable kiss at the end of a drunken night should’ve been the end of our story. But six months later, a late-night spiral somehow turned into a serious discussion about splitting rent. He was supposed to help cover the bills while I focused on school. Instead, he became the distraction I couldn’t ignore—and nothing like the guy I thought I knew.

MYLES
For months, I was committed to living a sober life. I focused on healing, sticking to a routine, and leaving my past mistakes where they belonged—behind me. But the demons from my past didn’t fade with time. They crept back in, one day at a time. Between the sleepless nights and the girl down the hall, my self-control grew weaker. And the lesson I learned? Temptation doesn’t disappear—it’s patient and persistent, waiting for you to fall.

Sophie Turner is a ray of sunshine. She is such a relatable character and you just want to be her best friend. Myles Cooper has been battling some personal demons for a while, and coped by the overconsumption of alcohol and women. Sophie was such a pillar of strength for Myles with his journey of sobriety. I loved their chemistry from the start, and the tension was thick!! And when they decided to be friends with benefits…I was just waiting for that ‘F - it’ moment. This book will have you swooning, clutching your pearls, laughing out loud, and on the verge of tears. It’s my first book by Nicole Kennedy, and it will not be my last. This was real, had raw emotion, and I ate it up!👏🏻

Wow! The bar was so high after finishing her first book, Final Goodbye, and I honestly thought there was no way the second one could be better. But boy, was I wrong. Myles and Sophie had me in a complete chokehold (wink wink, IYKYK). I was rooting for Myles the whole time (total underdog vibes), and Sophie had me laughing out loud with her sass and fearless honesty. She was hilarious, relatable, and such a fun FMC! I LOVED her.

I truly fell in love with these two and was strapped in for the emotional roller coaster this story took me on. The chemistry, the banter, the tension... everything was perfection.

Nicole Kennedy’s writing style is absolutely beautiful. Some of the quotes and imagery had me in tears with how vividly I could picture the scenes, as if I was right there alongside Myles and Sophie.

She really hit this one out of the park, and I already know this series will live rent-free in my head for a long time.

Ok. I thought I loved Final Goodbye. WHICH I DID, don’t get me wrong!!! But Final Temptation?!!! It was OUT OF THIS WORLD.

LIT.ER.ALY.

“Alright, Rebel, times up. If we keep this up, you might fall in love with me, and we can’t have that now, can we?”

Sophie and Myles have made it into the ranks of most favorite MCs of ALL TIMES. I could not get over their ADORABLENESS!!! They both have significant histories- we learned about part of Myles history in Final Goodbye. Sophie’s is more of a family conflict that hasn’t been addressed.

And don’t think that this book is just your average romance book. It’s deep. There is darkness. There is struggle. But there’s redemption and love and healing.

“I think alcohol will be the least of my temptations when it comes to living with you, Soph.” His voice lowered.

Sophie and Myles’ relationship is just to unique and beautiful. They’re vulnerable and sarcastic and honest in a way they aren’t with anyone else.

I just love it so much. You should def read Final Goodbye first, but you don’t HAVE to since they’re interconnected standalone. So just read them both. Trust me.

Do it!

Final Temptation is book number 2 in the Alpine Peak series. This is Nicole Kennedy’s second ever book written and I really enjoyed it.

In this second book of the series, Myles is the 22 year old playboy who struggles with alcohol addiction and feeling lost. He’s always had a crush on Sophie, the bar owner’s daughter but fills up the void in his life with one night stands with different girls.

Sophie has always found Myles to be attractive but doesn’t want to be another girl on his list of hook ups. They end up living together when Sophie is out of work and wanting to study and needs a housemate to help pay the bills. The forced proximity gives them the chance to really get to know each other and open up about their true feelings.

Myles wants to be the one to make Sophie happy but his demons make him feel as though he’s not worthy of love.

This book explores some deep topics like past trauma, addictions and mental health but does it in a way which makes you want to read on. Once they go through all the obstacles, there is a HEA waiting for them at the end.

If you love a small town romance with forced proximity and friends with benefits, then this is a great book to read. I would recommend reading the first book in the series (Final Goodbye) which features Myles brother Declan to get a better understanding of all the characters.

UTTERLY UNPREPARED, BUT PERFECTLY UNFORGETTABLE

I went in expecting a sweet small-town romance… but oh boy, I was not prepared for THAT. I’m still so flustered thinking about it. It was so good, the kind of good where you don’t even realize the book is ending. Time just flies with this one!

But what truly makes this story stand out is Myles’s sobriety journey. His struggles, his push & pull, the way he wants to get better but sometimes stumbles. You see not just the fight against alcohol addiction, but the quiet strength it takes to choose himself, day after day. To be better.

Sophie is a ray of sunshine, a sunflower with her own little pricks & thorns. She's witty, sarcastic & daring but also patient, understanding & supportive. Their relationship isn’t just about sparks & banter but it’s about healing, trust & learning to choose each other in the messy, hard parts of life.

This book made me laugh, swoon, blush & emotional all at once. It’s not just romance. It’s about learning to forgive yourself, second chances & the beauty of finding someone who believes in you even when you’re learning to believe in yourself. Absolutely unforgettable.

This is the second book in the Alpine Peak Series and it once again Nicole Kennedy delivered. This book had a hold on me until I was finished. It was definitely an emotional rollercoaster worth riding. Sophie swore she would never date Myles the town playboy. He has demons that haunt him from one tragic night. Because of this he try’s to quiet his demons with alcohol. Sophie finds herself out of a job at the local bar her father owns when she wants to make a life for herself beyond the bar and explore other options. Soon she finds herself being roomies with none other than Myles when she can’t afford to live on her own anymore. They soon spark up a relationship. Are they ment to be together? Can the playboy get his act together ? I don’t want to spoil it for you but this is a must read. This book will have you laughing, crying, cheering, and holding your breath as Myles and Sophie try to overcome the demons that haunt him.

✨Book Review✨

Book 2 in Alpine Peak
Rating: 5⭐️
Spice: 3🌶️
Releases: 9.18.25

Mkkk…Nicole has done it AGAIN! Final Temptation is only her second book (you’d think she’s been at this for years btw) in the Alpine Peak Series and I am in AWE at how freakin amazing it was. I devoured it in under 24 hours and was left feeling cozy, swoony, and begging for more. Did I shed a lot of tears too? Yes, yes I did! Let me tell you… the spice? Myles and Sophie left me blushing and fannin myself more than I can count.

Myles completely stole my heart: he’s sexy, sweet, has a tortured soul, but his redemption arc?? Mmm perfection! Nicole handled the tough topics (alcoholism, sobriety, grief) with so much care, and I felt every emotion right along with him as he continued on his journey.

Now, Sophie… can she please be my best friend? She’s strong, sarcastic, independent, and the way she showed up for Myles without hesitation just made me love her even more. I felt like I was right there with her during the toughest times and I just wanted to reach in, hold her, and tell her it’ll be okay.

These two were destined from the start and their journey has officially made them one of my new favorite smalltown couples. If you’re into smalltown romance, friends with benefits, second chances, and a HEA that will melt your heart then Final Temptation NEEDS to be on your TBR. 💕

Thank you Nicole for this ARC (that I’ll treasure forever) in exchange for an honest review. You’ve got a fan for life!

“ 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗱 𝘂𝗽 $𝗵𝗶¥ 𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗻—𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽-𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂? 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗼 𝘁𝗼.”

Im completely blown away...I'm still in shock that this is Nicoles second book EVER! Her writing is so strong and heartfelt...she really helps you FEEL what the characters are trying to convey rather than just telling you...which is something that not everyone can do. I will say I can absolutely see the growth in her writing from her first book...and the first book was just as amazing...so that is saying something. This is the second book in the Alpine Peak series. While you can read this book on its own without reading the first, I personally think reading the first book adds to this one...it gives you some background information on the MC's and their family which really helps put things into perspective for this book.

This book centers around Myles...our tortured MMC and Sophie...our sunshine filled, independent FMC. Myles...my sweet man...he has been through A LOT...a tragic event from his past has pushed him into drowning the noise in his head with alcohol...numbing himself from reality with one night stands and drinks. Watching his downward spiral hurt my heart. I think people have a hard time understanding what it's like to really be lost and be in so much emotional pain that you will do anything to find some relief. Some people are able to just work through it...others just can't and end up turning to quick fixes like drugs and alcohol...it's a slippery slope and once you are in it, it can really be hard to pull yourself out of it.

Sophie is the daughter of the bar owner that Myles frequents...they are friends...but she also knows of his past and his reputation as the town playboy...and chooses to keep a safe distance despite the two having secret feelings for each other. When Sophie decides to pursue a new path in life by going to school, her dad fires her from the bar and that causes her to use up her savings. She needs a roommate to help cover expenses while she starts over....and Myles suggests moving in to help...he has been wanting to move out of his parents place and the timing is perfect...so Sophie accepts.

Being together in such close quarters on a daily basis forces them to face the feelings they both have been harboring for each other for a long time...but it also shows Sophie just how broken Myles is. He can't hide his pain from her, and she doesn't want him to. I loved how Sophie was there for him unconditionally...she never judged and never made him feel bad for his addiction.

Myles realises just how much he truly cares for and loves Sophie...he wants to be the one to make her happy but knows that he can't do that in his state...and wants to feel like he is worthy of her love and of her in general. I loved seeing him really finally facing his demons and working through the pain. He didn't do it just for Sophie, but for himself too...and that was an important take away from it all. You have to be willing to do it for YOU....and he was...Sophie was just the support that he needed to help him through it.

Now while the book is heartbreaking and deals with hard topics, there were beautiful moments of love and fun...and there was definitely spice that would make your toes curl. Myles was SURPRISINGLY a dirty boy and I ate it up and left ZERO crumbs!

All in all it was a beautiful small town romance with heartbreaking moments, and a happy ending that was hard fought for and well deserved. 💜

Thank you SO MUCH to Nicole Kennedy for the opportunity to ARC read this beautiful book.💜

Nicole Kennedy’s Final Temptation is a gem in the Alpine Peak Series. Her writing shines through, and I devoured it in less than 24 hours. It left me cozy, swoony, and begging for more.

Myles and Sophie’s relationship is undeniable, leaving me blushing and fanning myself.

Myles is sexy, sweet, and has a tortured soul. His remarkable redemption arc handles difficult topics like alcoholism, sobriety, and grief with care, making me feel every emotion with him.

Sophie is strong, sarcastic, and independent. Her unwavering support for Myles made me fall in love with her. I felt like I was right there with her during tough times.

These two were destined, and their journey made them one of my new favorite small-town couples.

If you enjoy small-town romance, friends-with-benefits, second chances, and an HEA, Final Temptation is a must-read.

✨This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster. It was beautifully written from beginning to end. I loved Sophie’s personality and her attitude on life. She was very relatable and I found myself laughing a lot with the things she said. My heart broke for Myles. The inner turmoil he was going through and how Sophie was the light he needed on his dark days. I absolutely loved this book and I highly recommend reading it!

Secret tattoo? One bed? Tortured MMC? Forced proximity? Nicole basically handed me a bingo card of all my favorite tropes with Final Temptation 🫶🏼💜

I tore through this book like it was my last meal and Myles’s redemption arc left me a puddle on the floor 🫠

He’s messy, broken and fighting his demons but watching him claw his way back and choose love again? so so satisfying. Nicole handled the heavy stuff (grief, addiction, sobriety) with the kind of care that makes you feel every bruise and every breakthrough.

𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙮 𝙛𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙪𝙥 𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙩 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙤𝙣—𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙪𝙣𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙄 𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙨𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥—𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪? 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙖 𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣’𝙩 𝙨𝙖𝙮 𝙣𝙤 𝙩𝙤.

And then there’s Sophie. My new fictional bestie. The exact match Myles needed. The way she showed up for him no hesitation, no half measures - perfection!

Together, they’re messy, magnetic and scorchingly hot (seriously, the spice deserves its own star rating). By the end, I wasn’t just rooting for them I was ready to pack up and move to Alpine Peak myself.

If small town romance with emotional wreckage, redemption arcs that heal your soul and spice hot enough to fog your Kindle screen sounds like your thing… Final Temptation is basically your next obsession.

Thank you @nicolekennedyauthor for the ARC! I can’t wait to continue this series! 💜

This book made me cry so much. When I started reading it, I didn’t expect it to have such an effect on my feelings. This story is about second chances in life. It shows that when you lose yourself, you can always change and turn your life around. Sophie was an amazing FMC-she was funny and determined, sometimes serious and resilient, especially when fighting for what she wants from life.
I’m very happy that I got to be a part of this amazing journey.

Thank you to Nicole Kennedy for the opportunity to read this ARC copy.

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written, the characters really well developed, and the storyline one that tugged at my heartstrings. My only wish is that I had read #1 first, as I didn't realize there was a different Alpine Peaks book that had come out first and was related. That being said, this book stood quite well on its own!

Not enough stars, I love them. A very emotional moving story of Myles fighting his demons but Sophie loving him through it all. 😭😭😭😭

Plus Nicole knows how to make you remember a kitchen. 🥵

If I could live anywhere and be sandwhiched between two blonde MMC it would be Alpine Peaks with the Cooper brothers bc I am unwell with the two of them.

•Happy Release Day to Final Temptation by @nicolekennedyauthor…she so graciously sent me the paper back arc and the digital arc and I’ll never be well from it. She is honestly the sweetest lady and I’m obsessed with her writing and her love for kitchens..IYKYK…

•Myles & Sophie’s story was so special, I loved the fuck boy demeanor but also loved her sweet good girl attitude. Together the both of them had the tension and the burning desire to fan my face a few times. Yes. They were hot. Yes their art work lives up to it.

•The story of Myles is so moving, I shed so many tears waiting for his arc that I knew it would come and Nicole wrote it so well. I loved every aspect but most of all I loved that Sophia never gave up on him through it all. Fighting demons is never easy but she held on when she knew couldn’t. 😭😭😭

I devoured this book! This one put my emotions on a rollercoaster. My sweet Miles is so precious. A tortured mmc will always have my heart. I knew I was going to love Miles from his part in Final Goodbye, but I was completely unprepared for how hard I was going to fall for him.

I just had the best time reading this story. They were funny — the banter and laughs were so good. The spice? 🫠🫠 they were HOT. And the emotion? There were so many feelings that I felt while reading this one — highly recommend 👏🏼

Final Temptation by Nicole Kennedy is book 2 in her debut series Alpine Peak. This is a small town romance following Myles Cooper and Sophie Turner.
🚩This is for readers 18 years and/or older as it has mature content and not suitable for underage readers.

Main Characters ✨
🩵 Myles, our MMC, newly sober is mostly known as the town F-Boy. Different women every night and partying until he blacks out was a norm for him. However it all changes after a tragic accident and he starts his journey to sobriety. It has not been easy, and after swiping right and matching on a dating app with the gorgeous blonde bartender, he never imagined he that kissing her would alter his world further.

💜 Sophie, our bubbly FMC, refuses to become another name in Myles Coopers black book, so after her best friend did a drunken swipe right in a dating app she met up with the hottest guy in her town. She told him he had to work for her, so one kiss was all he could have. 6 months later, a lonely night and a few dirty martinis in she does the unthinkable and messages him. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine it would change her life so much.

My thoughts 💭
This is such a great small town romance, I appreciate the delegate way Nicole Kennedy wrote the internal struggle Myles has with his alcoholism. As a person who has experienced what it does to not only the addict but also the family first hand, she does it so respectfully. The angst these two had for each other made me laugh, Sophie made him work for it but once she gave herself fully it was beautiful. Not only was it the physical aspect but emotional also. She cared deeply for him and respected his journey so much. Myles, such a romantic man didn’t even know he’s been in love with her since the start of their friendship. If you enjoy small town romances with the friends to lovers trope then you’ll LOVE this book!

-small town
-roommates to lovers
-one bed
-former playboy
-friends with benefits
-forced proximity
-obsessed mmc
-hopeless romantic fmc

The fmc, Sophie, decides to go to school, so her father fires her. She quickly loses her savings, meaning she needs help with the bills. Myles, the mmc, is looking to move out of his parents house. He offers to move in and help out financially with bills and rent. Sophie is interested in that offer, but after their history from 6 months ago, she is debating on whether it would work out. She accepts, he moves in, and their journey begins.

This was such a fun, quick, and easy read. Everything flowed so well together, and I love how the characters were written. However, I do wish that some of the sexual scenes were cut out. There were just too much for me personally. Regardless, I loved this story and how everything played out. And there were definitely some tears shed. I recommend everyone to read this!!

I’m glad that Nicole mentioned sobriety, and the steps Myles needed to take after realizing he needed help. Instead of him continuing to spiral, he actually received help. It made myles feel like such a strong and realistic character. The situation and how Nicole describes alcoholism, AA, and the serious effects of alcoholism is definitely realistic. I’m glad that the temptations and relapses are mentioned, since it’s a part of recovery a lot of people face.

The mmc and fmc were exactly what each other needed. Sophie calms his thoughts, and supports him by never leaving his side, even when he’s going through his worst. Myles comforts Sophie when she’s feeling embarrassed, and having doubts.

Thank you, Nicole and Simply Write, for my ARC copy of this book to review!

✨ARC Review✨

I’m definitely a mood reader so going from a forbidden dark romance to this small town hopeless romantic romance was just perfect 👌🏻. It was everything I hoped it would be and more, I couldn’t put it down, literally read it every chance I got 🥹. It has forced proximity, one bed, a tortured and broken MMC and a hopeless romantic FMC. I loved reading every bit of it!

What I liked:
✨Character Development - the way the characters managed to work through most of their trauma and communicate with one another to realise they weren’t alone was just beautifully written.
✨Tough Topics - the writer talks about alcoholism and the way she’s written it, you can tell she’s done a lot of research but you also feel like she’s written it from a personal perspective because she’s hit every nail on the head with it, with the ups, downs and in-betweens and the amount of respect I have for her for it is astounding because it’s also a topic close to home for me so the fact it’s portrayed perfectly really means a lot.
✨The Spice - ughhhh god it was good, perfectly placed and not taking away from the story and my my, that bathtub scene 💀🥵

What I didn’t like:
✨Nothing: there was absolutely nothing I didn’t like about this book, except I wish it was longer but that’s just me being greedy 😅

I absolutely loved this book, there was no slow burn, easing into the sexual tension, it was just there from the start and stayed all throughout the book which was just *chefs kiss*. I can’t wait to read more of Nicole’s work and I highly recommend this specific piece! Thank you so much for allowing me to be an ARC reader for this beautiful book 🥹.

Surprisingly heavy

A small town romance dealing with big issues - Final Temptation is here.

Sophie is at a bit of a crossroads in life. After her dad fires her, she goes back to school to study business. Without a job, things are getting tight financially. Then a night of lonely texting provides a solution for her in the form of a roommate - her best friend’s future brother in law, Myles.

Just one minor problem…he’s the town playboy, and they may have made out six months ago. No big deal, right??

Myles actually has bigger issues to deal with. He’s a recovering alcoholic and is dealing with nightmares of the fatal accident he was involved in a year earlier. But the tension between the two new roomies is off the charts, and before long the banter and flirty games are escalating…

This was a surprisingly heavy book. While it was super sweet and funny, the issues of alcoholism and addiction were front and centre. The book also addresses the importance of support in preventing relapse.

AA is a part of Myles’ recovery. While not an official step, dating is not encouraged in the first year of sobriety. This is not a part of AA in this story - probably because it didn’t serve the plot.

This book is part of a series of stand alones. I have not read the first, and I was able to follow easily. The book recounts all important info. It certainly sounds epic, and I’m pretty keen to read the first book now.

This is an open door book with a medium burn. Things do start to heat up pretty quickly between the pair.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to fans of contemporary romance.

Breaking away from her father’s family business, Sophie is left to figure out what’s next with a dwindling savings account putting on the pressure. That’s when she has the bright idea to find a roommate. The problem is that she only has one person that comes to mind: Myles Cooper, the man she shared an intense kiss with months prior and the playboy she can’t get out of her head. Lucky for her, Myles has been feeling the same and wants to prove himself to be better than the temptations that taunt him.

The love story of Sophie and Myles will made me go through all the emotions; from smiles to laughs to heartbreaking. Their roommates to Friends with Benefits to Lovers build was perfectly crafted as they learned about one another and healed at the same time. Sophie is a ride or die girl that you want in your life; a hopeless romantic filled with light. Myles is thoughtful and always down to make you laugh. But his tortured story will break your heart as you want him to treat himself better. This is where Sophie fills in those cracks.

Nicole’s writing style served her characters very well, weaving a passionate story of temptations, forgiveness, and love. This is my second novel from Nicole Kennedy and she knocks this one out of the park and I can’t wait to see what she writes next!

"You walked into my life on my darkest days, completely unaware of just how bright you made them."

I was lucky to receive an ARC of Nicole Kennedy's newest book, Final Temptation. It follows the story of Sophie and Myles.

I was excited to return to Alpine Peak!

I've not so patiently been waiting to read Myles's story ever since he caught my attention in Final Goodbye.

I loved Sophie and Myles's story and thought they were perfect together.

I adored Sophie. She is a real ray of sunshine and is the kind of friend you want in your corner, always believing in you even when you don’t want to believe in yourself.

Myles took me by surprise. I did not expect him to be like that! My heart broke for him after finding out more about what happened that fateful night. No wonder nightmares of that night still haunted him.

The banter between them was everything! I loved how they were still able to be true and honest with one another, and it melted my heart seeing how supportive Sophie and Myles were of each other.

I was completely unprepared for the rollercoaster of emotions that this book would put me through. Nicole knows how to pull the emotion right out of you.

Final Temptation focuses on sensitive topics, which Nicole treated with the care they deserved.

I would have loved to see Myles go to therapy and deal with all his unresolved issues. Besides that, I enjoyed reading Final Temptation.

I can not wait to read what Nicole comes out with next!

Thank you so much to Nicole Kennedy for this ARC 💜

The second (and I think final?) book in the Alpine Creek series follows Myles and Sophie.

Myles has his demons which are delved into deeper in this book, after learning about them in book 1. My heart broke for him but the work he put into himself was very note worthy. Sophie was a ray of sunshine, and her outgoing personality was such a joy to read. I loved her fire and sass, especially when she was flirty with Myles. Their friendship was the best basis for their relationship!

They had SO much physical chemistry and their banter was always so flirty, so their roommates situation was bound to end up the way it did. They were so hot together; the spice was so epic and honestly some of the scenes had me sweating. Myles and Sophie had good communication throughout this book in terms of Myles’ journey, their feelings for each other and in the bedroom!

Myles sobriety was a journey through this book, and it took a turn that I was not expecting. I personally think the later part of this event could have been fleshed out more; some “showing” on the page would have really been a benefit here.

Overall, I’ve really enjoyed these two books, and I’m looking forward to seeing what is next from Nicole. What a great debut series! I’m hoping for some future glimpses of Chase!

Final Temptation is book two in the Alpine series and is the story of Sophie and Myles. This is a friends to lovers, close proximity romance with some sensitive topics so please read the content warnings prior to reading.

This was such an amazingly well written story of sobriety, redemption and learning to lean on those around you to continue through a process of healing for yourself and those you love and who love you. The way the author was able to realistically convey the character’s emotions and show the growth that Myles was able to make throughout the story we impressive. Sophie was such a strong female character that showed her willingness to make herself vulnerable for Myles and help him through his sobriety. Her dedication to Myles through his difficult events and recovery showed the depth of her love for him.

There were so many sweet moments between Sophie and Myles (wild flowers) as well as steamy moments with such passion and chemistry. I was very impressed with the writing, emotional connection to the characters and how the author was able to make me feel. If you are looking for a sweet romance with so much heart as well as a storyline that will bring you to tears and a well deserved HEA, this is the book for you!

Absolutely amazing.

Let's start with Sophie- she is what everyone needs. She is bubbly, sarcastic, always there for you- Can I have her as a friend!?

Myles- oh Myles! His progression throughout the book is perfection. I couldn't wait to know him after the first book and now that I do- I'm sad this was the last book of the series! (Honnestly who wouldn`t want more of all 4 of them?!)

My favorite part ? I can't name one. Maybe how SPICY this was.. or maybe how the story is about someone finding himself and fighting his demons.. or maybe it was their first kiss, or probably how Sophie never gave up on him. Final temptation made me feel all kinds of emotions !!

Nicole's writing about grief & alcoholism is done amazingly.
The communication between her caracters is chef kiss.
The flow between pages and chapters is smooth like butter.
In other words? I couldn`t stop reading it.

I am sad we are now leaving Alpine Peak - But this book (and Final goodbye) just hyped me up for whatever's new project Nicole will do. I will be the first in line for what comes next.

Thank you Nicole for this ARC in exchange of my honest review!

This small town Duett has come to an end and I miss this town and it’s people already. After Final Goodbye I immediately wanted to know about Myles and Sophie!! And what can I say this story delivered!

Without spoiling it too much the most thing I loved about this story is how Sophie and Myles were in a friendly relationship from the beginning! Their banter was soo good: The way Sophie never bit her tongue when they talked to each other but also got shy when their relationship evolved was kind of the best part between them.

This story also has its emotional parts. In my opinion Nicole Kennedy describes the struggles in living with an addiction very good. Not only describing the feelings the addict is going through but also the people who love them and want to see them succeed in their sobriety.

This book was all fun and games at the beginning but turned emotional, heartbreaking, bawling my eyes out deep towards the middle/end. I LOVED ALL OF IT!

Let me start by thanking Nicole for giving me the opportunity to read this as an ARC!

“There are always going to be temptations in life—some in the form of love and some in the form of evil.”

Rating 4/5⭐
Spice level: 3/5🌶️
POV: 1st POV (Sophie & Myles)

The tropes:
💜 Small town romance
💜 Recovering alcohol addict MMC
💜 Friends with benefits
💜 Reformed playboy
💜 Roommates to lovers
💜 Forced proximity

“I have some pretty fucked up shit I need to work on—the demons that haunt me every night when I fall asleep—but you? That’s a temptation I can’t say no to.

This book was such an easy, funny, spicy and pretty emotional read. And it has truly been a ride for me to read about Myles healing journey and struggles. I honestly didn't expect this book to be that emotional, but it told his story so beautifully. BUT beside the emotional side of this book it has a lot of banter, and back and forth between Myles and Sophie. They both were each others match and that made this story so good. So I'm really grateful AND thankful to read this book as an ARC, so def give it a try!

This is book two in the Alpine Peak Series. I suggest reading book one, Final Goodbye, first. It is the MMC's brother's book and helps you understand some of the characters better. This book deals with issues like addiction, mental health and past trauma but in a beautiful way.
This is Myles and Sophie's book. Myles is a tortured young man who hides his pain with alcohol and women. Although the chemistry between Myles and Sophie is obvious, she doesn't want to just be another notch on his belt. Sophie is a very relatable character. She's smart, sassy and strong. An independent woman with sarcastic banter. Sophie is there for Myles through his journey. I had a rollercoaster of emotions with this read- tears, laughs and swoons. Once Myles and Sophie gave in to their passion, the spice was so hot 🥵.
If you love small town romance with friends with benefits and forced proximity, then you will love this one.
Thanks to Nicole Kennedy and Simply Write for letting me have an early read.

Final Temptation is a wild ride that I flew through since I didn’t want to put the book down. There’s trauma, great banter, deep moments that are heart wrenching, lots of spice, and so much love. The sass and the tension between Sophie and Myles had me giggling so much and their challenging moments had me holding my breath. The journey Sophie and Myles have gets rough, intense, and emotional but the passion between them burns so bright 🔥

Sophie is the free spirited and hopeless romantic who has done everything to avoid Myles, the ultimate playboy and recovering alcoholic, after the two had one steamy and very unforgettable kiss after a drunken night. Months later Sophie finds herself messaging Myles and after a venting session he offers to help her out by moving in to help with rent. Sophie sees how sobriety has changed Myles and she wants to be there to help him keep the inner demons away. As things get hot and heavy Myles becomes obsessed with Sophie, always craving and captivated by her. Myles wants to be the man Sophie deserves and he’ll do whatever he can to earn her 🥰

Thank you so much Nicole Kennedy and Simply Write for this ARC 🫶🏻

Final temptation is book two in the Alpine Peak Duology. It is about Sophie and Myles. Sophie's best friend Paige and Myles’ brother Declan are dating. Paige swipes right as a joke on Myles’ dating profile. They share a hot kiss. Of course Sophie declares it will never happen again, even if it was “enjoyable”

The first 20% was a little slow for me, but I did get hooked at about 25% in and very much enjoyed the book. The book dives into the heavy topic of alcoholism, as Myles is working through his sobriety after an fatal accident, but I liked the way the author handled it. While it’s not something I have suffered with, I thought it was a different perspective from other books I’ve read, seeing Myles thoughts & feelings while on his journey. It’s not pretty but it felt authentic.

On a lighter note some good spice, and some of favorite micro tropes-secret tattoo, him remembering the coffee order & one bed.

Definitely check out the content warnings but I would recommend & have downloaded book 1 final goodbye which covers Paige & Declan's story.

Thank you to Simply Write & the Author for the ARC.
