Robert Muchamore was born in Islington, London in 1972. He still lives there, and worked as a private investigator up until 2005 and the critically-accepted release of Maximum Security.
The Hunger Games phenomenon is part of the huge YA / Children's book explosion that has grown, thanks to the British Rat pack of YA authors, Anthony Horowitz, Robert Muchamore, Mark A. Cooper and Charlie Higson. We owe much of the hunger games sucess to authors such as Robert.
Robert was inspired to create the CHERUB series by his nephew after he complained about the lack of anything for them to read. CHERUB: The Recruit was Robert's first book and won the Red House Children's Book Award 2005 in the Older Readers Category.
Following the last book in the CHERUB series, it was revealed that a trilogy would be released starting from August 2011 that will focus on a new set of CHERUB agents centred upon Ryan Sharma and also involve an sixteen year old Lauren Adams. The first book will be called People's Republic.
Check out the Hendersons Boys series. Henderson's Boys is a series of young adult spy novels written by English author Robert Muchamore. The series follows Charles Henderson, the creator of the fictitious CHERUB organisation. CHERUB is currently being made into a TV series.
I have loved reading the cherub series since I was about 10. I also loved the first three books of the new cherub series. However, unfortunately, this book was a bit of a let down. while I respect the story line and enjoyed the read there was no continuity with the rest of the series as was expected by the way Muchamore suggested the Aramov series would go. I am disappointed as I just feel like he wrote a book for the point of it and not to in fact bring what was such a good series and such a big part of my childhood to a close.
ONE WORD AMAZING! I have always wondered how the author manages to keep two stories going on at the same time yet the reader doesn't get confused and the suspense never seems to die. Although it was kind of an anti-climax when James just storms through the door and ends Ning's capture I still thoroughly enjoyed this amazing book. The author does an excellent job of creating believable and realistic characters, something which other YA mystery authors just can't do! All in all a great addition to the cherub series, Cannot wait for the next one

I've been reading these books since I was 11, honestly, I loved the 1st series, but I felt like this book wasn't as original. For one, compared to the previous series where James had a life on Cherub campus, his friends, Kerry, etc., here, Ryan had no contact with Cherub campus. It didn't make him seem as real as he had been in the first books, and no where near as relatable as James. Something else I missed was the epilogue. All cherub books until this one had an epilogue, telling us what had happened to 'bad guys' and other characters that wouldn't come back in the next book. The one other thing I personally didn't enjoy was James as mission controller. Even though we do still see parts of his personality, I still think of him as that teenager that was constantly goofing off. I didn't really feel like he brought much to the story. There were also a few connections with James' story as a kid, I thought maybe these were going to be developed a little more, somehow have a link with his past, but no, the character were just in that part of London. I think it should have been either a connection, either not their at all... The last thing is I felt this was a deja vu, a group of agents set out on a mission to bring down a cocaine dealer, they go to a youth club of some sort where they get recruited to carry the drugs around and at one point get tested, to see if they are reliable, etc. This sounds a lot like Class A...Obviously, the story with Fay brings a different twist to it, but I was disappointed with how useless she was and how her end of the story ended. Overall, though the book was interesting looking, I felt it was a copy of Class A without as much character depth and realistical-ness... :) I feel like maybe the author is getting bored with this series, as he as started Rock Wars as well.
Hi, I’m Everett Banholzer, interviewing Fay, one of the main characters in the book Cherub Lone Wolf, by Robert Muchamore. The book is about Fay trying to get revenge for her aunt who got killed by drug dealers. She gets help from a Cherub agent named Ning and a member of the gang named Warren. Ning’s mission is to take down the gang not to get revenge so she has to make many choices. Warren is a boy who does deals for the gang and helps out but ends up betraying them. Another Cherub agent trying to take down the group is named Ryan who becomes a member and does things from the inside. The book is action-packed and we are here in Fay’s north London apartment.
Who do you admire?
I admire my aunt. She taught me everything I know, besides what I learned in school before I left. All the skills I have like how to fight and steal I learned from her. She became my mom. I like that she was tough acted like the exact opposite of most women. I have followed in her footsteps and have continued what she did.
How would you describe yourself?
I would say that I’m a brave girl that cares for others but from the outside, it looks like I don’t show emotions. Many people that have met me don’t think that I have a heart and that I don’t care about anything, that is just one side of me. I do care about other people I just like to focus on what is going on at the moment.
How did you feel once your aunt died? Who did you go to for support?
Fay: My aunt had told me to stay in the lobby downstairs and she would come for me once what she had to do was done but then I ended up waiting there for a long time until I heard a gunshot and ran upstairs to where the gunshot was and I just ran. It all just happened so fast, I didn’t know what to do so I just ran. I had no family so I just ran and went to my aunt's safe house and planned revenge.
Who are you close to?
After my aunt died I had made friends while trying to get revenge. Their names are Warren and Ning. Ning actual got me into Cherub after taking down the gang. I probably am going to make friends there and hopefully do really cool missions.
Why do you think that your aunt would lie to you?
I think that she just wanted me to be safe and not to worry about her. I knew what her job was and how she gets money but the part about dealing with people that kill her I didn’t know. I don’t think she told me so that if she ever got in trouble that nobody could come to me for answers. Once again she wants me to be alive and safe.
What is your view on life?
I don’t have a view on life. I only had one person to care about and now that I’ve got revenge I don’t know what to do. I guess I’ll make friends and goals at Cherub campus. I feel that in life you’re meant to have a goal or a motive to pursue and right no I don’t have one.
How did it happen?
My aunt went to a hotel to do a job and she had told me to stay downstairs in the lobby. She wasn’t supposed to be long, but it ended up me waiting for a while until I heard a gunshot and worried if it involved my aunt so I went to the elevator to go to her. When I got to the floor she was on there were men with guns so I ran downstairs and across the street. They chased me and sadly I had to kill one of them. It freaked me out what I just did so I ran and ran until I came to a town. Had lost communication with my aunt and later on, I realized she died.
Who do you care about the most no that your aunt is dead?
Fay: My aunt was really the only person that I had but I have two friends helping me get revenge on the killers, Warren and Ning. I have a little of a crush of Warren. They are the only ones who I know and think about.
What happened to your parents?
My parents died when I was young. I didn’t really know my dad but when I was ten years old my mom had asked me to got to the store and then come back with food but when I came back my mom had been cut to pieces by a drug dealer. I was living with my aunt before she died and now I’m all alone.
Why did you do what you did?
I killed them because they killed my aunt, my family. I had to get revenge even if it meant killing. It left me with no one.
4.3/cip 🩷 This book was surprisingly good.. 😺 Using Fay as more of a main character compared to the other agents made the book seem more unique to the previous books in the series. Using the layered plan of the drug dealers, the plot did seem more detailed and complex than usual, which led to a great ending when Ryan uncovered it all. Many of the small profiles in Hagar’s, or Eli’s crew, made the story better, so you could picture the plot and the end, when it all got uncovered. 🙂 James though doesn’t feel the same with his old personality. That’s ok 🥲🖤💔😡 Hope to see more of Fay 😌😌😌
The plot was downright fun. It’s hard not to compare it to Class A, but this felt like it was amped up to a higher level. It feels like Muchamore is happier to hurt his characters now, and they seem to engage in riskier behaviour. There were points where I wondered whether James would get a dressing down for allowing his agents to get into such dangerous situations – there didn’t seem to be the same evaluation of the risk as in the first series.
I read the book "CHERUB: Lone Wolf" by Robert Muchamore. The author, Robert Muchamore, is obviously a writer, he is most famous for his book series "CHERUB". He has a very good sense of humor in and out of his books, and for the majority of his life he was unemployed. He also published the last Cherub book earlier this year. In the story one of the main characters fay is out for revenge against a major drug lord named Hagar. She is out for revenge because Hagar killed Fay’s Mom and Aunt. Then, The CHERUB agency which is pretty much an FBI for kids and teens saw this and took it as an opportunity to bring down a major criminal. So a week before Fay was going to leave juvie CHERUB planted an agent named Ning to become friends with Fay and learn about her plans and fake help her if that was possible. Also, there was another kid agent named Ryan that is just playing as a new kid that moved to the local school. His mission is to get a job as a drug dealer and rise in the ranks in the drug cartel so he can take everybody down from the inside. This is written more of a casual tone of a story I would say. I think this because there was a lot of slang, cursing, and not to many long fancy words that are usually in more formal story. I chose this story because I read the whole original CHERUB series and It was my favorite book series so I thought I would try this book out. I wouldn't say it is as good as any of the original books in the original series but I still liked it quite a bit. This book relative to the series is kinda just a random book with action in it so basicly it doesn't add to the plot or anything like that. Even though I liked the book a bunch I wasn't really impressed by it because all of the original series books were very, very good. I am usually not one for reading too many books but I even bought the books off amazon with my own money because they weren't at the public library. I think that teen readers should read the book. Also, I think if you are more into action books you should read this book because it is a pretty good read. But it definitely isn't for kids in elementary school because of the swearing and inappropriate themes. I read the first book in the CHERUB seines in fourth grade and I didn't understand any of it I just thought I was being cool because it had swearing in it.
I'm so glad that the series didn't end with the last book (although now I'm worried that this book is the last one!), and that a few old favourites showed up and played prominent roles. I always enjoy the world of CHERUB, and checking in on everyone and everything. James sure has come a long way from the scrawny little kid we first met in The Recruit.
Really enjoyable read! Best book in the series so far, no more Aramov clan thankfully! Only thing I have to point out is that the ending was just too easily wrapped up, I wish Robert would've added a few extra pages to end it nicely. Apart from that, great book! My love for Cherub is endless.
Lone wolf was probably one of my favourite books of this series because not only was it packed full of action it also added a lot of depth to the storyline and introduced a cool new character that had an interesting life
Thought the ending could have been a little more detailed even though it was still properly wrapped up. It was more stated than shown in my opinion. However a great book all around.
Lone Wolf was bit of a let down. It is built on an exciting premise, in fact all the right elements are here for this to be a really entertaining book. But the flow of the book never peaks, it just sort of drudges on until suddenly you have finished the final page. The fact is that Muchamore has, for a long time, failed to reach the same dramatic heights that many of his earlier books achieved. These CHERUB books used to be genuinely exciting, but now consistently fall a bit flat.
One thing is noticed, was how ludicrously easy it is for both Ryan and Ning to infiltrate their respective targets. Ryan becomes basically upper management in the drug dealing business after an evening hanging round a youth club, and Ning becomes bum chums with a teenage delinquent after one fight with her. I know that the agonisingly long process of real espionage doesn't lend itself exactly to kid's books, but I think the original CHERUBs needed to work much harder to get in with their targets.
The villain of this story was awful. Hagar seems to me the most bafoonish cartel boss to walk the Earth, how he inspired so much fear in chapter one yet by the end was a churlish toddler, I do not know.
These CHERUB books have got to pick up, because they are not hitting the same heights as they used to.
Ning is tasked with befriending Faye, the niece of a boxing champion who steals drugs off of some of the biggest drug dealers in the area! When a drug deal goes horribly wrong, Faye’s auntie is killed by Hagar just like her mother. On the other side, Ryan is tasked with befriending some of the part-time dealers in the school. After Ning and Faye steal drugs off of Hagar multiple times, they almost started a clan war by selling the stolen drugs to the rival gang. Hagar realises the rival gang has no part in this so sends his best recruits to murder Faye and Ning. Luckily though, the police arrive and stop them. Ning and Ryan are sent back to cherub and Faye fulfils her mission by Posing as a maid at the hotel he is staying at and murders him.....

I loved Fay. She was batshit crazy. It was awesome. I was also excited to see Ning on another mission. Especially one where she got was in the thick of the action. I'm not a huge fan of Ryan but I liked seeing his part of the mission and particularly the ending where he started to put it altogether. The romance between Kerry and James adds nothing. Nothing to the entire series. I don't know why he keeps going back to her. I thought after the last book they were done but now they're engaged. WTF. I just don't get it.
This book is the fourth in the second series of the Cherub books, and it is great. James is back in the mix as a trainer, and Ryan and Ning are off on a mission together based in London, busting gangs and drug dealers. Lots of grit and conflict, and also an interesting insight as to how things might actually work in the real world. Not that Cherub is real. For official purposes, those children don't exist ;)
in this book Ning and Ryan are running the same mission, but in parallel from different sides of it. Ryan is trying to get inside the Cocaine, Heroin, and Marijuana dealers' company and to find out how he is smuggling drugs into the country. Ning is to befriend a sworn enemy of Hagar - the drug dealer - a 13-year-old named Fay, whose mum and aunt were killed by Hagar. Together they take down Hagar's business and Fay kills Hagar.

Really enjoyed having a strong female character in Fay and her friendship with Ning as the centrepoint to this story. Also great that James is back as a mission controller, working with Ryan and Ning. Less sexual references in this book was welcome and still lots of action and a twisting story line.
It certainly wasn't the best book. Although Ning was rather cool, the whole book felt a little draggier than usual as compared to the other books. Still looking forward to read the grand finale though!
thr book was about a girl that wants payback on a drug dealer the tourter her family and then killed her anut and mother my Favourite Ryan got betting up by three oversize adults dont steal from drugs deals.
It a nice change to the story line. It’s a new mission which was nice. It reminded me more of the original CHERUB books instead of the previous 3 in this series. I really enjoyed getting back to this style.
