I can’t say enough good things about the Farmer’s Market Mystery series. It has been a delight since book one and only gets better with each installment!

Every trip I take to Monson and Bailey’s Farmer’s Market is more enjoyable than the ones before. The reason for that is quite simple . . . author Paige Shelton’s writing. She takes each new installment of this series to a new level, all the while maintaining the original feel of the series which made readers fall in love with it in the first place.

BUSHEL FULL OF MURDER was a real page turner that I hated to put down for even a moment. The murder happens close to eighty pages into the book, which gave a wonderful depth to the setup of the story. I’ve said this a lot, but I enjoy a book more when the author takes the time at the beginning to let the reader really feel like a part of the story before the body is found. Once the murder did take place, the story became even more riveting. Packed with plenty of suspects and loads of questions, this was a wonderfully plotted mystery that will have readers turning up the volts on their thinking caps!

BUSHEL FULL OF MURDER was a bushel full of excitement and fun. Way to go Ms. Shelton!

And don’t forget to check out the back of the book for some great recipes

Lots of action in this one and not all related to the mystery. I really enjoy the characters and farmers market setting. It would be so much fun if there were another book in the series.

A farm fresh murder, jam packed with action, suspense and appetizing food from the farm. Jam maker, Becca and her sister, Allison who is Bailey's Farmer's market manager where Becca has a stall where she sells her jams make a sweet team to be sure. After Becca's aunt and uncle passed away Becca wanted to continue her uncles unrealized dream of having a farmers life growing produce and making and selling jams.

Food trucks are arriving for a short stint at the market with the hope of boosting Bailey's Market Business with Becca and Allison's cousin, Peyton the young, beautiful and often flighty cousin with her gourmet hot dog food truck. Also arriving from Arizona is friend to Becca and long arm of the law man, Harry in search of Peyton, she is a suspect in an assault of a restaurant manager and theft of a substantial amount of money and a recipe.

When the banker and the town's business manager come calling, there is tension between everyone at the market when the vendors are required to have licences for their stalls and the food trucks. When the business manager is murdered in the parking lot of the bank after some question about delinquent business licences with Peyton being at the scene of the crime things are not looking good for her, Harry is convinced that Peyton did it despite his friendship with Becca wants to see that she pays for her crimes and is arrested for the murder. Becca with the help of her sister, Allison want to prove Peyton's innocence because she is family and blood is thicker than water. But in true Becca style she can't help but getting in the line of danger to save the farmers market and her family.

An exciting and an adventurous ride with Farmers Market Vendor and Jam Maker, Becca. With an abundance of farm fresh delicious food, shady characters all of them with something to hide and a murder of a business manager who was a stickler for the rules. A very entertaining and hard to put down edition to the Farmer's Market series. Becca being a laugh in the face of danger type of person had me on the edge of my seat as she sought out a killer. This was a satisfying mystery for any foodie (myself included) and a true lover of intrigue and a dose of farm freshness. Becca is a genuine, down home and down to earth heroine of this series, she is a sure fire winner and one of the reasons I will continue to read this series.

FTC Disclosure: Thank you to the publisher for providing me a copy of this book for review. This did not influence my thoughts in any way. All the opinions of the book and review are my own and my reviews are honest.

This is the first book that I have read by Paige Shelton. Now that I have read this book I will be picking up the entire collection. I was excited to find a book that flows really smoothly. It did not hold any of the little quirks that I find tend to irritate me as a reader. I loved the characters and really loved the mystery. I had absolutely no idea who the killer was, which for me is a first in a really long time. It held my interest so much so that I read it in one day. The last time I read a book this fast was several years ago. I am really impressed with this book and will probably be re-reading it. I do not usually re-read a book after picking it up unless I truly love a book. I whole heartedly recommend that you should pick this book up. I will definitely be looking into purchasing other books by this author as well. Enjoy.

Food trucks are coming to Bailey's. It's a big surprise and Becca is hopefully they will bring more business to Bailey's, not that she needs more business! Before the trucks arrive, Becca has another surprise! Her friend Harry, from Arizona, is in South Carolina on business. Harry is in law enforcement and on the trail of a suspect accused of stealing a restaurant's secret sauce recipe and assaulting and robbing the restaurant manager while she was making a bank deposit Becca is shocked and horrified to learn the identity of the suspect- none other than her little cousin Peyton! It's another shock when Peyton arrives in Monson as one of the food truck vendors selling gourmet hot dogs. Then Mr. Robert Ship from the Monson City Business Licensing Division arrives and demands every vendor and every food truck has an up to date South Carolina business license and his friend, Mr. Manner, a bank manager, is pushing the vendors to share one bank account and the food truck vendors to open new accounts. These demands seem to rile up some people including Becca's cousin and when Mr. Ship turns up dead the very next morning and Peyton was seen at the bank very early, things don't look good for Peyton. Becca feels her cousin is surely innocent and Allison agrees. Becca is determined to find proof of Peyton's innocence and bring it to Harry and Sam.

This series kept getting better and better as it went along. This one opens with a bang (literal!) and a cliffhanger. I only meant to read a few chapters but a few chapters turned into half the book and it was past my bedtime! I woke up early because I couldn't sleep without finishing the book. I never guessed who or why. It was a real shock. I was on the wrong track entirely. I didn't quite like that some events were never fully cleared up. The cozy comes from Becca's relationships and moving on from Ian and onwards with Sam. We meet a few more vendors and some food truck vendors too. There were a couple of naming errors towards the end that took me out of the story for a second but mostly the typos didn't bother me.

Becca's sleuthing is mainly confined to asking questions of people she thought she knew and sometimes strangers with backup. At the end she makes a TSTL move and she's aware of that! She can't help herself. She is still hung up on the fact she's been divorced twice but starting to think more about a future with Sam. They're practically living together and Hobbit likes him very much. Sam enjoys working in the yard and helping Becca in the kitchens. They're pretty close to being a married couple. I think the big problem is Sam is a cop and while he's one of the good guys, if Peyton is guilty, he'll arrest her. He'll treat her right but he has to follow the law. I never think cop/nosy heroine will work out. These two seem to make it work because Sam must break a million laws sharing things with Becca and inviting her into his investigations. He shouldn't even be investigating the murder if Peyton is a suspect since he's practically family.

Harry is an even tougher cop. I get the impression sometimes he's using Becca to get to a person of interest. He has a good poker face and I don't think he's telling Becca everything. He won't be kind or easy on Peyton if it comes to arresting her. I missed Red Hot Deadly Peppers so I don't know his personality too well but Becca trusts him and likes him because they went through a scary time together. Peyton is younger than Becca and Allison and not settled into adult life yet. I get the impression this cousin has drifted through young adulthood. She finally found her calling in the culinary world and insists she didn't steal anything, not even a recipe. Anyone can taste the two sauces and compare. She must be a super taster if that's true. She claims she figured out just by tasting the secret sauce what was in it and made hers better. I don't think you can copyright recipes anyway unless it's in a published cookbook so that claim won't hold up. The stealing money? Well it certainly doesn't look good for Peyton. Was she just in the wrong place at the wrong time? I think so. I think her restaurant manager is lying and took advantage of Peyton's ignorance and innocence.

Mr. Lyle Manner and Mr. Robert Ship sound absolutely phony! Allison has copies of all the business licenses of her vendors and she knows them all and more about them than anyone else. Would the owners of Bailey's let her get away with anything else? Maybe but she wouldn't forgive herself if something fell through the cracks. Mr. Manner claims to be from the local branch of the American Investors Bank and Trust. Doing what exactly? He's formal and somewhat arrogant. He's very pushy and doesn't listen when Allison explains each vendor is their own entity. People have free will to bank or not bank where they choose. He would force Jeannine to trust a bank? I think she'd revolt and leave Bailey's. He has to be a scammer! The same with Mr. Ship. He's fussy and pushy. Both men create a lot of tension. The employees at city hall seem to have liked Mr. Ship but what they reveal shows me he was not a good man. This guy was for sure not on the up and up but justifying it using his own personal moral standards. I hate people like that! Mr. Manner claims he and Mr. Ship were friends but no one seems to know anything about them or be able to confirm it. Mr. Manner can now say whatever he wants!

Betsy, the tomato vendor, is acting suspicious. She goes from friendly and helpful to cantankerous and contentious. What was her beef with Mr. Manner? There's something going on and she won't let Becca help. I don't want her to be a murderer though. She made her tomato sauce in Becca's kitchen and traded her product with Becca. They have a good system and seem like they could become friends. Another suspect is Jeff Kitner who is kind of an angry guy. He has beef with the licensing department. He's a tough guy who won't back down against a stuffy suit. Who would win in a fight? Jeff. He seems like he could be capable of murder but I don't think anyone in the Bailey's family would be a murderer.

Now we have some food truck vendors. I don't trust some of them. Mel of Paco's Taco's is a surfer dude type. He's helpful and friendly. Basha Bonhan is a local from nearby Greenville. She's a cupcake baker and seems friendly at first but when Becca catches Basha staring at a part of Peyton's truck, Becca's stranger danger senses are pinged. Mine too. It costs Becca a dozen cupcakes to pump Basha for a little bit of information. Becca doesn't even know 11 other people LOL! Big, burly Hank sells ramen noodle bowls. He seems like a man's man so his choice of food is surprising. Daryl, who sells wings, looks like a nerdy professor. The other two men are a little sleazy and gross in their attitudes towards women. Mel even tries flirting with Becca AND then sees Peyton and wants to get with her. Oh ew.

Nick Ship is also a person of interest, being the slightly estranged brother of Mr. Robert Ship. Nick is a straight shooter who lives off the beaten path where he likes it. He's perceptive and seems to pick up on Becca and Allison's poor lying skills. He claims to be telling the truth and he has nothing to do with his brother's death but there was a motive there. I am not sure he's innocence. Then there's Kyle and Meg from the city licensing division. They seem to know a whole lot about what may have gotten their boss killed and let him get away with stuff. They should have spoken to the police and not to nosy Becca. I wonder if they can be considered accomplices to some kind of crime?

Ian pops in and out here and there. He's the nicest guy. Even though his relationship with Betsy seems like it won't work out, he's very zen about it. I don't think he's meant for commitment. He loves his work too much. He'll take care of George and Magic for as long as George is alive and then I bet he sells his property and moves on somewhere else. He's a free spirit, something like Becca's parents, who seem to be putting down roots in Monson again. There's not enough of them in this story! Sweet Hobbit isn't in the story much either. She's not a fan of changing up her routine. There's an interesting scene with Officer Norton. She's such a unique character and so surprising. I wish she had been developed more with her own series.

None of the recipes appeal to me so I will be returning this to the library tomorrow. I'm sad to say goodbye to Bailey's especially with the romantic plot just kicking into gear. I'll write down a few recipes to remember the series by and I will certainly be looking forward to more Paige Shelton books. I'm already eager to read the next Scottish Bookshop novel.

I received an advance copy of the book, and couldn't put it down! Becca is back in the thick of things, trying to save her cousin from being arrested for murder. Her detective skills have grown, along with her relationships with her fellow market vendors and the local police force. The changes in her relationships with both her current boyfriend, Sam, and former boyfriend, Ian, are believable and wonderful.

The farmers' market is even more colorful with the addition of a group of food trucks who's wares will keep you hungry throughout the book. Paige has painted the area so thoroughly that I want to go visit and meet all the characters.

The plotting was excellent. I am a mystery buff by nature, and I measure all books by this standard: can I figure it out before the main character. I was totally in the dark by the end, but in the best possible way. All the leads that Becca follows make complete sense, but there are little things here and there that in retrospect gave you most of the clues you needed. I was very satisfied by the end. The recipes all look really good, which has to be said because I get so hungry reading these books that there had better be recipes for me to use by the end.

All in all, this is the best book so far in the Farmers' Market Series. Enjoy!!!

I was given this book for a fair and honest review.

This is the first book by Paige Shelton that I have read. While I do not generally pick up a book in the middle of a series, the concept had me intrigued so I had to try my hand at it and I was definitely glad I did so.

From the characters to the location to the fun and craziness at the farmers market, this book has you roped in from the very beginning. We follow as Becca must help clear her cousin, Peyton's, name in a murder rap. All the evidence points towards her cousin and she sets out to set the record straight.

I highly recommend this book, series, and author to anyone who loves cozy mysteries or is wanting to get into the genre. You will definitely enjoy the Bailey's Farmers Market cast of characters and she will keep you guessing till the very end.

Thank you Paige Shelton and Cozy Mystery Review Crew for the opportunity to win an ARC and review this book!

I was a very lucky person to receive an ARC of Bushel full of Murder for a fair and honest review.. No problem, this is a cozy mystery I really enjoyed. I love the main character Becca and enjoyed her relationships with the other vendors, her boyfriend and ex-boyfriend and her cousin who's in trouble because they think she's the main suspect in a murder.I loved the farmers market and the addition of the food truck. I got hungry when the jams were described and when the gourmet hot dog truck was described I thought I was going to have to go find one. I did laugh at spots and something unusual happened to me during this book. I didn't solve the mystery by the end. Also all the recipes sounded great. I will surely read the next one in the series.

Bushel Full of Murder is a great casual read! It had a pretty steady flow throughout the whole story, and I was honestly in the dark about who the killer was until it all came about at the end of the story. You can definitely read this book without having read previous books, although there was enough information in there that has intrigued me to want to read the previous stories. Becca is a very cute and easy going character which will make you want to read more about her adventures!

Brought to you by OBS reviewer Kayt

Bushel Full of Murder is Paige Shelton’s newest release in her Farmers’ Market cozy mystery series. The main character, Becca Robins, is in for a big surprise when Bailey’s Farmers’ Market hosts food trucks for the next two weeks. The even bigger surprise is the arrival of her cousin Peyton and her hot dog truck. Before Peyton even arrives, an old friend shows up from Becca’s time in Arizona. Harry is one big law man and even his friendship with Becca cannot stop him from searching for his quarry. His suspect in an assault and robbery that happened in Arizona just happens to be cousin Peyton. Harry is convinced she did it, but agrees to let Becca help in the investigation. All signs point to Peyton’s guilt and maybe that is someone else’s doing. Becca introduces her love Sam to Harry and they hit it off right away. Things really put Becca’s love and her good friend Harry together when a murder occurs and Peyton is not only at the scene of the crime, but also the prime suspect of the murder.

Bushel Full of Murder is a well written, action packed, thrilling mystery. The characters are fun, diverse and well developed. With two separate mysteries being investigated at the same time, by two different jurisdictions and Becca, there still seems to be only one person who fits the bill for as the guilty party in both. Becca and her sister Market manager Allison search for answers and other suspects. Their search is entertaining and enticing as well as fruitful. The wonderful characters are as amusing as always in Paige Shelton’s Farmers’ Market Mystery series. Reading Bushel Full of Murder is like coming home, while it is still as fresh as a just picked tomato. This installment of the superb series is as great as all the others and even better. Love the sentimental and heartwarming events (no spoiler here though). There are plenty of if new suspects, a few red herrings and circumstances that intrigue and mislead. The storyline is entertaining and captivating. Paige Shelton’s writing style is exciting while at the same time endearing. I feel like I am hanging out with good friends when I get to pay a visit to Munson and Bailey’s Farmers’ Market.

This book is the 6th in this enchanting series. I do not think you need to read them in order to thoroughly enjoy this delightful book. But really they are all great so why not treat yourself. This is a fresh and tasty cozy that would appeal to any fan of the genre. Well written, full of action, intriguing mysteries, great characters and interesting twists and turns make Bushel Full of Murder a true winner. For those that have read all of this series, I think you will truly love this newest installment. I cannot wait for the next in this entertaining cozy series. Exciting happens await I am sure!!

Best so far! Becca is growing up!

Bushel Full of Murder is the 6th book in the Farmers’ Market Mystery series. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I think Paige Shelton has hit her stride with Bushel Full of Murder, and I hope there are many adventures ahead for Becca at the Bailey’s Farmers’ Market. Becca’s curiosity is insatiable – can you say nosy – and she just can’t seem to stay out of trouble. She has vowed to let the police do their job and take care of solving murders, but once again circumstances put her right in the middle and she must do what she can to find out what really happened and remove suspicion from someone she cares about.

This time it’s her young cousin Peyton, who arrives with other food truck vendors who will be temporarily operating at the farmers’ market. Peyton is the primary suspect in the current murder; she was always a handful, and Becca is reunited with a character from a previous book that tells her there is already a cloud over Peyton from events at the restaurant she worked at in Arizona. We are kept guessing right until the end about who does and does not have good intentions, who is lying, who is dangerous. Of course Becca manages to have another couple of hair-raising experiences, but they are believable and consistent with events in the book.

The food trucks and their owners add an interesting bit of color to the farmers’ market, and we continue to learn more about the regular cast of vendors at the market. I would have liked to know a little more about the food trucks, how they operate and the food they serve, and I hope to see more detail about the working of the Bailey’s Farmers’ Market in future books.

This book is totally satisfying if read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading all in the series to really get to know the market and the characters and to understand Becca’s relationships and see how she has grown and matured. When we were first introduced to Becca she could be careless and often immature and thoughtless. Paige Shelton has done a wonderful job of character development and Becca is now someone you would be proud to consider a friend.

Bushel Full of Murder is the story about Becca Robbins who makes and sells her jams and preserves at the local farmer's market. The owners of the market decide to invite food trucks from other states as a promotion for the summer and Becca is happy when her younger cousin, Peyton, is one of the food truck vendors. However, trouble seems to have followed Peyton and her hot dog truck from Arizona to South Carolina. Becca learns that her cousin is suspected of stealing both a secret recipe and money from the restaurant she worked at and using them to start her food truck business. When the town's business manager is found dead with the stolen recipe clutched in his hand, Peyton becomes the number one suspect. Becca's boyfriend, Sam, is the local police officer and in charge of the investigation. Becca knows Sam is only doing his job by implicating her cousin, but decides that even though Peyton appears to be hiding something she must find the real killer and clear Peyton's name.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Bushel Full of Murder. It's the sixth book in the Farmer's Market Mysteries and although I have only read the first book (I have full intentions of reading ALL the books in the series!) Bushel Full of Murder is a stand alone book. You don't have to start with the first book to know what's going on. I was very happy to see that Paige has allowed Becca to grow as a person and make choices that reflect that growth. It adds reality to her continuing stories. And of course her delicious recipes included with the book add to my reading pleasure!

The author provided me with a free copy of her book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Becca Robins is enjoying life. She loves making jam. Baileys Farmers' Market where she sell her goodies is busy and the people there are her friends. She has a wonderful boyfriend. Things are good. How quickly everything changes. Her cousin, Peyton, comes to town with her food truck and death follows. Can she find the killer and clear her cousin? Becca is an amateur sleuth who uses her instincts to follow the clues that others might miss. She's a compassionate person who is easy to care for. I like her and her dedication. She may be impulsive but she has the best intentions. Sam is the Sherriff and a truly nice man. He's a keeper. I love a person who is fair and true to his word. Becca can be a handful but he cares for her deeply. These two belong together. This is a great cozy mystery that kept me entertained. Bushel Full of Murder is a well told mystery that has plenty of suspects and surprising twists that kept me guessing until the very end. I enjoy the small town setting of Monson and its easy pace. I like a story where family and friends are there to provide love and support. Paige Shelton wrote a cozy that left me with a smile on my face. I enjoyed this new addition to the Farmers' Market Mysteries.

I had the great good fortune to receive an advance copy from Ms. Shelton in exchange for a fair and honest review. I absolutely loved this book. Have you ever finished a book and immediately started missing the characters? This is that kind of book. The setting, as for most of the books in this series, is Bailey's Farmers Market. But there's a new twist: food trucks! A joint marketing plan has five food trucks moving into Bailey's parking lot for a short stay. One of the trucks belongs to Becca and Allison's cousin Peyton, and the minute she arrives, trouble comes with her. BUSHEL FULL OF MURDER launches June 2nd. If you're a cozy lover, like I am, this is a must read!

There is a reason why Paige Shelton is my favorite cozy author.
Bushel Full of Murder is the latest in Shelton's Farmers' Market series, but Shelton works enough backstory into the plot that a casual reader should have no trouble following the current mystery.
Oh, certainly, this book follows the typical cozy pattern: single female with a love interest/ hot cop deals with a murder by being nosy, even though the police try to keep her out of the investigation, and, after a climax scene wherein she does something dumb and gets into a very risky situation, she gets the murderer to confess and helps the police capture him/her. All cozies are like that now.
But I'm a cozy junky, and I can firmly state that Shelton's cozies are a step above average. She gets the editing done right, for one thing. The mere fact that the woman can spell "Farmers' Market" correctly (making it plural possessive) is a huge sign. The POV works (it often doesn't in cozies). The pacing works. The backstory makes sense. Her protagonists are never idiotic.
Bushel Full of Murder is no exception. Becca, the protagonist, is very realistic and likable. In this installment, Becca's flighty younger cousin has been accused of several crimes, and she's being followed by a cop from Arizona. But when the cousin ends up being right at the scene of a murder, things don't look good.
Shelton fleshes out Becca, her cousin Peyton, her twin sister Allison, the murder victim, various other suspects, and the hot cop. There are no cardboard characters here, no hint of RL Stine's completely interchangeable characters. In fact, Shelton's characterization skills are on a par with those of many successful crime writers, rather than just those of other cozy writers. I wouldn't be surprised if someday Shelton tried breaking out of the cozy mold and writing a less patterned mystery or crime novel.
So, should you read Bushel Full of Murder? Well, do you like cozies? This is a light, quick read with no blood or guts. The red herrings are just right, the pacing is perfect for a beach read, and the characters behave like real people. A serious mystery this is not. If you're looking for light, you cannot do better than Shelton. Give the series a try. (If you want to read the books in order, you'll need to begin with Farm Fresh Murder.)

Dollycas’s Thoughts

I love my trips to Bailey’s Farm Market. This time we meet Peyton, Becca and Allison’s cousin, when she brings her hot dog food truck to town. She joins 4 other food trucks from around the country that are visiting the Farm Market as part of marketing campaign. Plus Harry (Talking Trees) is in town from Arizona. Becca met him there when she visited the General Buffalo’s Trading Post the previous summer when he was investigating a murder. Peyton had come from Arizona too….

The food truck vendors also bring a local banker and the town’s business manager to Bailey’s. When the business manager is murdered the police tie it together with Harry’s investigation. Becca can’t help but get involved as her friends and her cousins become suspects in his murder.

HOT DOG! Paige Shelton has topped herself this time. She has both Becca and Allison trying to prove their cousin is innocent so technically they are not investigating the murder. This was a great twist. Sam and Harry even share some information with them.

This has become one of my favorite series because of these characters. Becca has a curious nature that plays well as she sticks her nose into the investigations. Allison is more pragmatic when any trouble comes to town. Sam, a fine police officer, loves Becca but knows she can’t help herself when anyone close to her is threatened or hurt and he does everything he can to keep her safe. Add to that the girl’s parents and all the vendors at the Market with all their unique personalities and you have an awesome cast of characters.

With A Bushel Full of Murder she has given us a fabulous mystery with many twists and turns. Once I started reading I couldn’t stop. The plotting is top notch.

This is a perfect summer read. My only compliant was that I was craving hot dogs and other food truck fare throughout the entire story. :) I have already copied all the recipes from the back of the book and now have a new gourmet way to grill hot dogs.

The sixth book of the Bailey's Farmers' Market series is well written with a plot weaving together everything we love about the Market while adding visiting food trucks and their owners.

One complaint about this book is multiple references to things that happened in a novella released between books 3 and 4 available only for e-readers, Not everyone has an e-reader (or had one 3 years ago when the novella was released). It was a bit disconcerting to have the occurrences in Arizona alluded to throughout this book. It didn't really harm this storyline, just made me feel like I was expected to know more than I did.

I love finding an author that allows you to pick up one of their books knowing it's going to be an entertaining read. For me Paige Shelton is this kind of author. Since she has two new series starting in 2016, I'm concerned the end of this book leaves open the possibility the Farmers' Market series may be ending. It would be a shame because the characters she has created in the Market are all enjoyable. As the series progresses characters continue to develop with the author doing a great job of revisiting these people without sidetracking the story. Not an easy accomplishment.

In the latest installment in Paige Shelton's Farmers' Market Mystery series, Bushel Full of Murder, we return to Monson and Bailey's Farmers' Market. This time around, food trucks are invading the parking lot. Tacos, wings, ramen, cupcakes, and hotdogs abound. The influx of newcomers makes this mystery fun and challenging to try to solve. I wasn't sure who it was until the very end. Loved to see the romance developing further between Sam and Becca. Enjoyed having Harry from AZ visiting too. This was a fast paced, fun ride. Devoured it in a few days. Awesome read.

I am a huge fan of this series. The characters, the setting, and the mysteries hook me in each book. Looking forward to the next in the series!

Interesting cozy. I have read others in this series, but I have one on my to be read shelf that I hope contains the adventure in Arizona. This is a stand alone and quite satisfactory in that regard. But having said that, characters and events mentioned in this book do make me want to read previous ones that I may have missed. Pleasurable reading.

Another GREAT book in the "A Farmers Market Mystery." Paige Shelton has a wonderful way of making you fall in love with her characters. This story is no different. The mystery was great and the end will have you smiling for days.

#6 in the Farmer's Market mystery series. This 2015 cozy is apparently the end of the series since author Shelton has 7 titles in two new series (Dangerous Type mysteries and Scottish Bookshop mysteries) since 2016. A good series entry that might be a finale; the mystery gets adequately solved and there are no dangling story threads or cliffhangers to disappoint fans. Appealing Becca with help from her competent sister figure out the mystery and prove their cousin's innocence. Cousin Peyton is a mixture of self-absorbed and clueless, which doesn't help her prove her own case. OK cozy.

This summer, Becca is looking forward to selling her delicious jams and preserves, but things are changing fast at the farmers' market. A fleet of food trucks has arrived for a two week visit, peddling cupcakes, tacos, chicken wings, and more--including a gourmet hot dog truck operated by Becca's own cousin, Peyton. Tensions between the town's license office about required business licenses for truck operators and market vendors reach a climax when the town's business manager is murdered. With Peyton already under suspicion of stealing money and a secret recipe from the restaurant where she worked in Arizona, the cops start grilling her as their prime suspect.

Becca is looking forward to selling her delicious jams and preserves at the farmers’ market. A fleet of food trucks has arrived for a visit, peddling cupcakes, tacos, chicken wings, and more—including a gourmet hot dog truck operated by Becca’s own cousin, Peyton. Tensions between truck operators and market vendors over their required licenses reach a crescendo when the town’s business manager is murdered. With Peyton already under suspicion of stealing money and a secret recipe from the restaurant where she worked in Arizona, the cops start grilling her as their prime suspect. Now it’s up to Becca to clear her cousin and find out who at the market gave themselves a license to kill.

Great story Becca is, as usual, headstrong not cautious and totally lovable. The side characters from her sister Allison to her boyfriend Sam round out the book. This one also has a character from a previous book when Becca went to Arizona. The story has lots of interesting events going on and lots of suspects. I had narrowed it down but hadn't guessed who was the actual culprit. The descriptions and recipes for the food look and sound amazing and just add to th great storytelling. Plus there is a big surprise at the end.

Becca sells her homemade jams and preserves at the farmers market, the market is managed by Beccas sister Allison. Things change from just stalls selling homemade products to having five food trucks join the group. Tensions run high when operators of the food trucks and vendors have to provide a current license. The man in charge of licensing clashes with some individuals and the next day he is found murdered. Becca and Allison's cousin is operating one of the food trucks and she has driven all the way from Arizona where she left the town under suspicious circumstances. Becca and Allisoj team up to see if they can find the killer.

I didn't love the way this book started part way into the mystery and then went back to the beginning. I'm never a fan of that style, but Shelton redeemed herself with the rest of the book. Typical good story, love all the background and supporting characters. I dream of living in a place that isn't 99% rock, where we have dirt for growing things and where a farmer's market isn't 90% jewelery makers. I am sad that the series seems to be over, but there was a nice ending and I can envision Becca and Sam and Hobbit growing old together. Great series, highly recommended.

I am going to miss the antics of Becca, Allison, Sam and all the other wonderfully crazy characters in this series. This was the final book in this series of A Farmer's Market Mystery. I sure hope she write more of them....

They were fun and quirky and super fast reads. Great for the summertime and beach reads....I didn't see the end coming AT ALL in this one. I think I was too busy trying to work on the little side story LOL.

I highly recommend any books by this author for a great cozy read. You won't be disappointed at all....

Since there have been no more books since this one was published, I'm assuming this is the end of the series. That's a shame because I really enjoyed the Farmers' Market concept.

This book was formatted a bit differently. It started in the middle of a chase then flash backed for many chapters before getting back to the starting point. I'm not fond of books or movies or TV shows that do that, which is what prevented me from giving it a 5 star rating.

I've really enjoyed the farmer's market series - I wish there were more! Becca is a fun character, and I love that she is so self aware about how she is not a detective, and this probably isn't safe, but she's too curious to not follow through.
I've loved the relationship development between Becca and Sam, and I loved Sam's scenes in the end - the author finally let him come out of his cop shell more, and really show his emotions.
If the series had to end, this was a great way to do it!

I loved this series . The sisters’ relationship and the relationship that they have with the farmers market vendors is family. It adds to the cozy feel of the series. Becca is determined and gets herself into trouble but can’t help herself when finding justice. This time her cousin is introduced as a food truck vendor and with her comes a lot of suspicion of crimes from Arizona. Great mystery, great characters and setting. Sad that it is over.
