She’s tasted earth, air, and water. Now she’ll feel what it means to burn.
I am Hurley, the Fire Elemental—bringer of light, wielder of destruction, the last of the four.
I've watched from afar as Avani connected with my brothers, mastering earth, air, and water. I stayed back, waiting. Burning. Because I knew my part would be the hardest.
To stand in fire is to face your deepest truth. And to survive it, you must surrender.
She fears what I am. The heat. The fury. The way my magic sears through her defenses and exposes every crack she tries to hide.
But what she doesn’t see yet is this—fire doesn’t just destroy. It purifies. It cleanses. It reveals.
And gods help me, I will burn down the world before I let her face her destiny alone.
Our bond was forged long before this lifetime, buried in ash and prophecy. Now, it’s time for her to rise in flame and finish what fate began.
Because when she takes my fire into her soul, she won’t just complete her training.
She’ll become unstoppable.

Born at the stroke of midnight, Raven Steele grew up in a home bordering a graveyard as old as time. Ghosts became her only friends and whispered tales of a world that existed between night and day. In this place, monsters roamed the lands, magic curled in the wind, and good and evil fought over the hearts and minds of humans. Desperate to not let those dark and brave creatures be forgotten, Raven wrote down the words of the ghosts, knowing their stories of triumph and sorrow would give strength and comfort to those in our world.
And so, when the sun sets, Raven retreats to the cemetery at the edge of the woods, where she sits and listens to the dead speak their tales of Rouen and all of its inhabitants. Because one day, our two worlds may collide, and when they do, we must be ready. For when their darkness bleeds into ours, we will be fighting for more than our lives. We will be battling for our souls.
Raven Steele is a pen name to USA Today's bestselling author Rachel McClellan.

I have been following this series since it came out. I love it and sit here anxiously waiting for the next story. I love the why choose. She can have them all. I also love that she is finally coming into her own. She knows who she is and is no longer letting anything hold her back. I hate that I have to wait so long for the next book to come out. 2 months is too short to do a reread. But to long to remember all the details bc I read so many in between these. Still a great read tho. Just steamy enough with all the emotions of both sides to read from.
