Sinful Knights #2

Hidden Greed

Rate this book
Milo looks like every twink you’ve ever met, but behind the cheeky smile is a man who craves control. Older men are his weakness, but none ever take him seriously. Until Edward.

Edward Chivington is forty, polished, and powerful. The deputy prime minister of the UK. A man forced into the closet by his father, who doesn’t know how to break the door down after so long. Milo is everything he wants, everything he never thought he could have.

Their first encounter is in The Back Room, a notorious labyrinth where anything goes in the dark. One night becomes many, and Edward starts to reveal pieces of himself, as he falls deeper for the young man. Then Milo realises the truth. The man he’s also falling for is on the brink of becoming prime minister.

But Edward isn’t the only one with ambition. His rival will stop at nothing to expose him. Milo’s flat mates will disown him for sleeping with the enemy, and the press is circling, hungry for scandal. A romantic trip to Norway over the holidays proves this could be their moment for happily ever after, but when their story breaks, Edward must make the ultimate choice.

His dream job, or his dream man? Because the world isn’t ready for him to have both, or is it?

Another brilliant story from Oliver Takely—an author who knows exactly how to hook a reader from the very first page.

When Milo looks for company, a hookup app leads him to Edward, a charming silver fox. Their chemistry is instant, and what begins as a casual encounter quickly turns into something far more regular—and far more complicated.

Edward, a Deputy Prime Minister, must keep his private life hidden, while Milo is openly out and proud and increasingly aware that his feelings are no longer casual. As Edward begins to feel the same, life proves that love is never simple, especially when everything is at stake.

Milo is a twink yet he's not your typical twink. He isn't a bottom and he isn't submissive. He likes control and silver foxes who let him take the reins. He's a PA and a dang good one with a flat full of interesting flatmates who are also part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Milo is a Deputy Prime minister set up by the Prime Minister to hopefully take her job when she resigns. He's good at what he does but he has his own secrets as well. Such as at 40 years old he isn't out and only indulges in hook ups that remain anonymous and unattached. He mainly uses what is know as the "back room" in a club his friend owns and gets his needs met in a dark discreet room where no one knows who he is. But he meets someone on an app that ticks off every one of his boxes. He likes younger short men who are well endowed and will tell him what to do so he doesn't have to think and can just be as his job is stressful and he has enemies not afraid to destroy him and his reputation in order to get the Prime Minister job. Milo is definitely his type and from the first time they hook up, even though Milo doesn't know what Edward looks like or who he is, they become addicted and their encounters start to become a regular thing. Except they don't just stop at sex. They linger after with kisses and talks and get to know each other in ways that don't go too deep yet are intimate all the same. Neither is looking for anything and they know nothing can come from this but their hearts haven't caught up. So when everything Edward tries to keep private is close to spilling over Milo and Edward must decide now that they have seen each other outside the club if what they have is more or if it's just fleeting. I really enjoyed this book but I shouldn't be surprised because I've loved reading books written by Oliver Takley and will continue to read what he puts out. This was such a good short read with interesting characters and topics as well as showing what being a gay man can be like from an actual guy man himself which I loved. Milo and Edward were hot, smitten and perfect for each other even with the obstacles they have to go through to get to their HEA. I'm looking foward to more books from this series.

Firstly, let me say I got this book from gay romance reviews and this is me leaving my honest review.
This is the first book that I’ve read from this author and I’ve got to say I look forward to reading more from him. Milo is a PA to the editor of a tabloid paper. He likes his boss but really and truly what he wants to do is write his own books. He is a very proud gay man and has a really special bond with his friends. one night he goes on his app to find a hook up and he finds a silver fox but the only problem is he doesn’t know who the man is. There’s no pictures and they meet in a special place called the back room where all the lights are off. But Milo can’t seem to forget about this hook up. He keeps wondering who the person is but understands and supports the fact that he because of his job doesn’t want to be known.
Edward Chivington is the deputy Prime Minister of the UK and he thoroughly enjoys his job. He is so far into the closet because of his father. Eddies father passed away a year ago, but Edward has never felt the time is right for him to come out so he hooked up with people in his friends club so there will not be any tabloids out for him. But he cannot forget the Twink that he hooked up with. That guy knew exactly what Eddie needed even when he tried to top from the bottom. Could there be a way for them to meet again or was it just a one and done??? And that’s all I’m gonna tell you
I was hooked on this book and I read it in one sitting I just couldn’t seem to put it down. I really enjoyed the characters of Milo and Eddie. Milo is the kind of guy you want as your friend he is supportive. He doesn’t put pressure on anybody to be anything than what they are. I’ve felt for Eddie because I understood what he could lose, which is such a shame because the British tabloids are relentless but I am really happy with the outcome of this book. I love the dynamic between Eddie and Milo the passion that they shared was electric and I think they had a deep connection where they knew they could trust one another.
And I look forward to the Tattooed Envy because oh my gosh that boy Kieran is just hard work.

From their first secret encounter, both Milo and Edward find they can't stop thinking about one another, and their one and done becomes a regular habit. Being completely in the dark for each hookup is to protect Edward's identity, but it also amps up the steam factor for their many sexy times, and helps to create an intimate atmosphere as they begin to spend some cuddle time afterwards and getting to know a little more about the man they are with - without revealing too much.
Between his high profile position as the Deputy PM and a lifetime of being forced into the closet by an abusive father, Edward needs to keep his identity hidden. He wants to come out, but the time isn't right for this point in his career and he hasn't fully overcome his father's conditioning.
Milo is out and proud, but despite not knowing who Edward is or all of why he's in the closet, he is understanding and believes everyone should come out only when and if they choose.
Of course there is a nasty nemesis out there trying to ruin Edward's career, one who causes a temporary split between our MC's and unintentionally helps to reveal Edward's identity to Milo. They get through this setback, but that nemesis is still causing havoc and forcing them to make difficult choices. Fortunately for both Milo and Edward, they each have at least one amazing friend to help get them through this trying time. Both men are feeling a deeper connection than they expected and are ready for some honest conversations about their relationship, but they keep getting postponed by their hormones. They do eventually get there, and once all the external drama is dealth with, they can finally allow their love to shine and lead them to HEA.
I did enjoy this book as it was entertaining and heartfelt, touching on certain subjects in a respectful way, and building a connection between Milo and Edward that readers can feel. There are several secondary characters - some that are fun or likeable and some that are not - but all add depth to this story.

I received an ARC from GRR, this review is my honest opinion.

I’m so obsessed with Oliver Takely! He’s my new to me author guilty pleasure.

I have had the honor to ARC three of his books including this one and I just can’t get enough of these characters. Granted, I’m reading them out of order but what else is new?😂

This is book two in the Sinful Knights series and it was just fantastic. Edward and Milo were just absolutely amazing.

Edward is being considered to become the next prime minister but as a closeted gay man, he can’t exactly hook up with just anyone. Not only is it risky, but his tastes are a bit different from what someone of his built is expected to like. Eddy likes to be the one who relinquishes control in the bedroom and finding the right person for him is a lot harder than it seems.

That’s why when he meets Milo on a hookup app, he knows he’s found the perfect man. But hooking up in the dark turns into something more he wasn’t counting on.

Milo is not your typical twink. He likes to be the one in control when it comes to the bedroom but he’s never been taken seriously as a top because of his height. So when the opportunity to hook up with the silver fox who contacted him comes up, Milo is more than happy to oblige.

What was supposed to be a one and done night, turns into many nights of getting to know each other. But when the truth comes out, Milo finds himself in a difficult position.

When everything blows up, Edward has to make a choice between following his heart or his duty. Milo is someone he never thought he could find and now that he has, he’s not willing to let him go.

I loved the role reversal. The twink being the dominant one is one of my favorite micro tropes. There’s something so sexy about a big man being manhandled by the smaller one.

I seriously need to catch up with this universe because it’s just so good!

Loved the Deputy P.M. and his top twink

There's crossover in all Oliver's books and so it is again here. Milo appeared in his boss Patrick's book, Broken Promises, and now we get to meet him and his most unlikely anonymous sex partner.
I loved how Milo and Edward met, the club where they spent time together though unaware of each other's identity. The chemistry between them was sizzling, even in the dark. Well, especially in the dark, but it translated into their secret relationship too. It was obvious that they quickly developed feelings, the genuine like each had for the other, coupled with the easy conversations and the laughter that was never far away, even when things got more complicated.
Of course, Patrick cameoed here and we saw the other side of something that happened in his book. And also of course, where there's Patrick, there's Jason! We were treated to one fleeting glimpse and, true to form, he stole the show.
I loved Edward and Derek's friendship. They made me smile, so familiar with each other, so supportive, I wanted more of them together but I'm sure I'll get my wish when Tattoed Envy, his book and the fourth of the series, arrives. I'm sure that's not going to be an easy HEA, knowing which opinionated loudmouth he's going to have to wrangle!

I enjoyed how this pulled me in far quicker than I expected. Milo and Edward’s relationship starts in the shadows, but it doesn’t stay there for long, and I really enjoyed watching something that began as pure desire turn into something much more vulnerable and real.
Milo is fun, confident and far sharper than people give him credit for, while Edward is all restraint and polish, carrying the weight of politics, family expectations and a lifetime of hiding. Their age gap and power imbalance add tension, but what stood out to me was how human they both felt—flawed, uncertain, and desperate to want something for themselves.
The political backdrop raises the stakes nicely, with the press, rivals and public opinion closing in, and the question of whether love can survive that kind of pressure kept me turning pages. Emotional, sexy and surprisingly tender, this is a romance about risk, identity and choosing who you want to be when the whole world is watching.

This is the second book in the Sinful Knights series and delivers a daddy/boy romance with a twist that I genuinely enjoyed. Milo and Edward meet via a dating app, have an unforgettable night, and quickly realise they can’t stop thinking about each other. What starts as casual soon becomes complicated, especially when Edward is a closeted Deputy Prime Minister under immense family and public pressure, and Milo is openly out but carrying his own emotional baggage.

I loved the contrast between them: Milo defies stereotypes, and Edward’s internal struggle felt very real and heavy. Their chemistry is undeniable, but the stakes make everything harder, forcing both men to confront what they’re willing to risk for love.

I also really appreciated the author’s clear support for transgender rights and inclusion in the UK—it added depth and relevance to the story beyond the romance.

Emotional, sexy, and thought-provoking, this book grabs you and makes you feel. I’m definitely looking forward to continuing the series.

I cannot think of anything I didn't love about this book. Okay, except for Hargreaves but I even liked him as a villain. This was a really interesting story, with a lot of things that aren't the usual. Milo being both younger and preferring to take charge, Edward being older and preferring not to, and the lovely story about Edward's support of the transgender community, which was shown by Milo's lovely friend Lexie. Things start between Milo and Edward on an app, and they meet in secret. But with Edward being the very closeted deputy Prime Minister and Milo being the PA of a newspaper editor, things can't exactly stay between them. The side characters are super fun and interesting, especially Milo's flatmates and friends and Edward's lovely friend Derek, and his boss, PM Olivia is really wonderful.

I received an advance copy from the author and this is my honest review of the story.

Fantastic! Milo, looks like a stereotypical twink, but is nothing like that in real life. Edward is a closeted, Deputy Prime Minister who does not live his true life. He and Milo meet, carry on a hot, sexy satisfying secret tryst even before they know their real identies. They are besotted and addicted to each other. Exposure is a risk they hope to avoid. They are good together and for each other. Life outside their bubble is neither forgiving accepting or inclusive. Priorities need to be set, choices need to be made and decisions need to be executed. Exciting story. This grabs you by the heart, makes you think and allows us to see the world from inside. I can read this story over and over. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Super spicy romance between deputy prime minister, Edward, and personal assistant to a journalist, Milo. They meet anonymously on an app, and have several really good times together. Eventually Milo figures out who Edward is (Edward is in the closet). From there it's a question of how to handle their relationship going forward - if they like each other well enough to decide what the future looks like for them together. There's a lot of jumping into bed with each other when they should be talking, so it takes awhile for them to come to any conclusions.

I assume most of the side characters are from other books I haven't read - prior reading is not necessary to make sense of this book.

Hidden Greed is the second book of the Sinful Knights series.

It's a daddy/boy romance with a twist, which I liked.

Milo and Edward meet on a dating app, have the best night of their lives, and can't stop thinking about each other. Edward is still in the closet; he is an important public figure in politics and, due to family pressure, has reached the age of forty while still closeted. Milo has his own emotional baggage too.

I really liked that the author emphasized the importance of defending the rights of the transgender community, especially in the United Kingdom.

Looking forward to continuing reading the series

Hidden Greed is the second book in the Sinful Knights series. This book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. This is the story of Milo and Edward. The blurb gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect in the story but not the emotions that go into it. I loved the characters and the steamy chemistry between them. I think this was a really good book about finding out and accepting who you are. I loved the emotions that came through loud and clear. The plot was interesting and kept me wanting to help Milo and Edward. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

I love this book and love this series. This is a good standalone but I suggest reading both books in this series. What got me with this book is the awesome main characters, Milo and Edward. What starts as as secret relationship between twink Milo and deputy prime minister Edward. They captured my heart. I love when a secret relationship moves to become more and becomes downright tender and loving. They have off the wall chemistry and are so protective of one another. I was not prepared to get as emotional as I did reading this and falling for this couple. It is the perfect balance between romance, intrigue, and mystery that had me reading it in one sitting. A great read!

Milo weakness are older men, & Edward is polished and powerful in his life, in all aspects, really, except with his father. They both come from sad backgrounds, &, in a sense, have more in common than you might think.

They seem to have such a strong connection... I really felt for Edward’s problems with how coming out could have strong repercussions.

What happens when their secret becomes public? Will they be able to continue to be there for one another?

I received this free ARC, and this is my honest review.

Hidden Greed delivers a compelling mix of romance, tension, and emotional depth. Milo and Edward’s secret meetings start as pure chemistry but quickly evolve into something tender and meaningful. The anonymity—meant to protect Edward’s identity as the Deputy PM—creates a surprisingly intimate atmosphere, letting the characters connect in ways they didn’t expect.
Edward’s internal conflict, shaped by his career and a painful past, is portrayed with care. Milo’s understanding nature balances him perfectly, and their dynamic feels authentic as they navigate fear, desire, and trust. The antagonist stirring up trouble adds just enough suspense to keep the plot moving without overshadowing the romance.
With supportive friends, well‑placed drama, and a well‑earned happily‑ever‑after, this is a warm, engaging read that’s easy to enjoy and hard to put down.

This book is from the Sinful Knights series but it has ties to the Soho Knights series also. Milo is a PA for Patrick, a media guy. Edward is the Deputy Prime Minister, soon to possibly be the PM but he is also in the closet. They meet on a hookup app but neither knows who the other is. Their secret affair is off the charts as they go against stereotypes and both are protective of each other but can't keep their hands and other parts off or out of each other. I received a copy of this through GRR and this is my voluntary opinion.

Milo is a twink and at the same time a top and quite dominant, being on the short side many hook ups don't take him seriously. Enter Edward a closeted politic who needs everything Milo is good at giving.
I liked how the author tells us the way the change their meetings towards something more meaningful bit by bit. How they talk to each other, hearing both their needs and how to mesh them.
I don't know anything about how politics work in the UK, but seemed a bit far-fetched how Edward behaved sometimes.
All in all a comforting read with enough spice to really feel it.

Closeted politian meets journalists PA and most especially Daddy Patricks PA from the other series. I absolutely love that all the series cross over. It brings joy. Oliver Takely writes some of the absolute best found families and I cannot get enough of it. I did really enjoy seeing Jason as he is one of my favorite characters. As for the relationship between these two, it was so fun the way they connected and kept coming back for more. Much like me with literally everything he writes.

An interesting relationship between Milo and Edward in terms of the dominance in the relationship and Edward having parental issues that have interfered with him being free to come out. Then, we find the other complications between these two and for Edward based on his high political profile. There are tabloids digging into the relationship and political schemers all of which combined for a wonderfully complicated romance.

This book as so good and it had me hooked. Oliver Takely is such a good author and I think I will read anything by him at this point.

I loved reading Milo and Edwards story. I also really liked the background characters. I cannot wait for the next book in this series especially after that little tease.

The blurb gives you a really good idea of the storyline. The main characters, Milo and Edward are well written. There is a touch of spice in their relationship. It's one of the Sinful Knights books, a spin off from SoHo Knights. They are all well written with great characters and this was no exception. I really enjoyed it! It started off political and, for me, went downhill from there. I tried to carry on but sadly it just wasn't for me, no disrespect to the author, just not my thing. It's a shame as I've enjoyed a couple of other works from this author.

Milo and Edward have quite the story. I didn’t remember/connect them to the SoHo knights till later in the story but that was a fun addition. This is sweet, spicey and emotional. Good read.
