What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. A girls’ weekend in Vegas to celebrate me finally passing my nursing boards—what could go wrong? A lot. Like accidentally marrying the star of bull riding, Maverick Ryder. I’m sure you’re wondering how someone gets accidentally married. Answer: a mechanical bull and way too many margaritas. I’ve spent the last ten years of my life in survival mode, and just when things are supposed to get easier, I’m uprooting my life on judges orders and moving to Windy Peaks, Wyoming, until they grant us a divorce. Windy Peaks is nothing like I thought it would be, and neither is Maverick. Underneath his go-lucky demeanor is a man with scars on his heart that look a whole lot like the ones on mine. Like calls to like and before I know it, I’m so wrapped up in him that I forgot why I shouldn’t do this. When the fears of losing yet another person I love become way too real, will the man I love choose me? Or will he become just another thing for me to lose?
3 / 5 Stars This was your standard, fun cowboy read. If you like: - Accidental marriage - A cowboy/bull rider who says "my wife" - A sassy FMC who calls the cowboy on his bullshit - Your typical shitty agent as the villain - Beautiful mountains - Found family - He's bossy in the bedroom - Very low angst - A quick read then I think you'll like this book.
I personally wanted more conflict and more stakes. I felt like a few things were set up that could have been a conflict, but they either didn't turn out to be or they got resolved quickly. The only really dramatic moment happened really far into the book and again, it was resolved quickly.
Thank you Elle Jordan and Luna Literary for providing this eARC. All opinions are my own. Publication Date: June 13, 2025 ______________ Pre-Read Thoughts: I eat up the true insanity of an accidental marriage. Back in the cowboy realm. Yeehaw, babes 🤠🤠🤠
This book was such a fun, swoony, and spicy read! I enjoyed the fast pace and how naturally the story flowed. The chemistry between the main characters was fantastic, and I especially loved the found family vibe throughout the story.
Ava has just graduated from nursing school and is on the hunt for a job. Her friends encourage her to celebrate and let loose for a night, so they head to a bull riding competition and hit up the bar. That’s where Ava meets Maverick, the bull rider who won the competition. They end up chatting and enjoying some drinks, but when they wake up the next morning, they find themselves in bed together with rings on their fingers!
Ava has experienced a lot of trauma after losing her parents in an accident, which has made her a bit quiet and hesitant to go out. But with Maverick, she starts to open up and become braver. Maverick is quite the opposite; he loves being in the spotlight! His father was a famous bull rider who tragically passed away during a competition, and ever since, Maverick has been determined to prove himself and be even better. He’s never had a relationship because he was so focused on bull riding and winning championships—until Ava comes along and changes everything.
I loved how their relationship developed naturally! Even though they started as strangers, they gradually learned more about each other and their feelings blossomed. It was great to see Mav get jealous and protective. He’s supposed to keep their marriage a secret, but when he sees other guys talking to Ava, he can’t help but claim her as his wife in front of everyone! And let’s not forget about the friendships and family that Ava finds by moving to Maverick's small town. The last few chapters had me feeling all the emotions, but I loved how everything wrapped up nicely in the end.
Let me start with saying that my first ARC (advance reader copy) did not disappoint!! For fans of Abby Jimenez or Lucy Score, I would definitely add Spurred On by Elle Jordan to your reading list! To be released on 6/13!
Phew, what a treat this one was! A wild night in Vegas for Mav and Ava leads to them waking up married without recollection. This novel has small town romance with a twist of cowboy vibes. Such a fast-paced, easy read. The dialogue between are main characters is fire - enjoyed every second of their journey from forced proximity roommates -> lovers.
If you’re looking for a feel-good romcom with spicy and witty dialogue, definitely add this to your list! Can’t wait to read her next book in this universe (I’m really hoping it’s going to focus on Rhett!). Fingers crossed.
This was a good intro to a new series. I would say a solid 3 stars for me. While I liked both of our characters, I had a LITTLE bit of a hard time connecting with them all the way. I did like the one night stand turned marriage turned HEA. I liked the build up between the two to get together again. I liked watching them realize that they may have gotten married drunk and not remember it, but they really like this person. They both had baggage they were working through, and it was good to see them help each other through that. At the same time though, I really felt like a lot didn't happen and though there was a third act breakup there really wasn't a ton of angst persay. That being said, this was an easy read that was entertaining but not addicting in my opinion.
Ava has just finished nursing school and her friends have convinced her to celebrate in Vegas for a weekend. She decides she will go. Why not? But then she finds herself married to the rodeo champion and not remembering their night together at all. Because it takes a minute for them to apply for an annulment, the judge gives them 6 months of living together to figure things out and then come back for the annulment if they want. How could this be happening? Ava has everything in her life planned. But moving to the middle of nowhere Wyoming with her now husband was not one of them. And now they have to play house together. When he looks like that. And when he looks at her like that. She decides to make the most of it and at least try to strategize on what is next for her. But the more time she spends with Maverick, the more she realizes there is a wonderful man behind the bull rider. There is a man who cuddles and listens to her and really makes her feels things she hasn't felt before. Things like supported and loved and wanted. So even though she has fought being with her husband, she can't fight it anymore. And it feels perfect. Like a puzzle piece coming into place. Ava can't help but want Maverick to stop bull riding though. And after a brutal ride she gives him an ultimatum. She is hoping that he cares for her as much as she cares for him.
Maverick has really only ever know the life of a bull rider. The traveling. The random women. The bulls and the fame. But when he wakes up in Vegas married to the hottie he met the night before. Maverick is at a loss or words. They can fix this. But he has to leave and when more time passes then planned before they can get this thing annulled, the judge says they have to try for 6 months to make this work. And now this woman is everywhere. She is in his tiny cabin. She is at the main house for dinner. She is in his thoughts before a ride. Though they kind of teased each other at first, Maverick is feeling more at home than he has in a long time. And it's all because of her. So after fighting this thing between them, he gives in and it's unreal. She makes him feels like a person not the bull rider everyone knows. She is supportive and wants to learn about why he loves what he does. He starts to wonder if this thing could be real between them. But then he gets hurt again- kinda bad and Maverick realizes that walking away may be his future vs losing the woman he loves.
Overall this was an easy, steamy one night stand turned more. The spicy scenes were HOT- Maverick has a mouth on him let me tell you. I liked the side characters and am assuming one of the books in this series will be about Rhett and Aspen. I liked the found family aspect- who doesn't love the found family aspect!
Thank you to Ember PR and Elle for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
It all started with a bull rider and some margaritas 😆
I was invested right after with the first few pages of this read
My instinct though was did she use Aqua net hairspray to get her hair to stay up lol If you love rom-coms with twists this is for you
I love it when a book takes time to explain things. Now and then you come across a book that gets right to the point and picks up right away.
I’m a mood reader so it’s easy for me to read all types of books this one right here didn’t disappoint with picking up right away from the very beginning you can’t help but laugh from some of the stuff that’s being said.
Ava is very relatable with what she’s going through in certain areas of her life she had me laugh within the first few pages. The MMC maverick is such a golden retriever in my opinion you can’t help but wanna know more about both characters and read about the unexpected journey they’re taking on
I loved everything about this from start to end the banter the remakes the found family, and especially the rom-com vibes.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves romance books that’s easy to get into and loves romcoms
A huge thank you to the author for sharing this arc with me I enjoyed all the moments you wrote
Thank you so much to the author and Ember Literary PR for the #gifted e-ARC!
This book instantly caught my attention from the very first chapter and I was GRIPPED all the way through. There’s just something swoon worthy about a cowboy down bad for his woman. I love the little “My Wife” thrown in throughout the story too.
Ava is such a grandma style young person (which I love because me too gf), but she’s independent, works hard for what she wants and refuses hand outs from anybody. I loved watching her transform throughout the story and become more open and receiving of love.
Maverick is the ultimate book boyfriend. From the start I wasn’t sure if he was going to be that rough around the edges, but golden retriever type and besties, he is alllllll retriever. He takes such care of Ava, even when things got rocky he was sure to remedy the problem and in the best way.
The last few chapters and the epilogue really filled my heart up beyond measure. Aside from absolutely loving Mav and Ava, the side characters were phenomenal! They all brought such depth and really made you feel like you as the reader, were apart of their found family.
I would highly recommend to all my cowboy, bull riding book besties who love a little accidental marriage and forced proximity!
👢 Ava has finally graduated med school and is ready to start her career. With her girls finally getting her to let loose for a night in Vegas, she hops on a bull...and gets taught by none other than famous rider Maverick. Fun riding turns into shots which turns into an accidental marriage that cant get annulled for at least six months. Looks like shes moving to Windy Peaks.
👢Maverick refuses to fall for his "wife" as all he's known is the rider scene. So why can't he ignore the way she starts caring for him? Especially in front of reporters.
👢 Spurred On is THE book you want to pick up and read the full thing in one sitting. It's the perfect beach read for the girl gang, banter and spice. I immediately adored Ava and knew Mav was "down bad" for her- gasping at parts and needing to make sure they got their HEA. THAT ENDING THO- MY HEART. If you adore any accidental marriage or forced proximity x baby cows, grab this ASAP. Thank me later.
This was a great cowboy romance! It was Jasper Vale meets Flawless 🩷
Ava is celebrating her graduation from nursing school and heads to Vegas. After a wild night, she finds herself married to Maverick, a bull rider. When the judge orders them to remain married for 6 months, Ava has to move to Mav’s small town.
Maverick is gone a lot due to his competitions, but when he’s home he finds comfort with Ava. They watch movies and share their traumas. Maverick falls for his wife! Ava has to adjust a lot but comes to love her new job and town!
When Maverick’s dangerous job becomes an issue for Ava, he has to choose between her and bull riding. I definitely recommend this one for small town, spicy cowboy goodness! 🤠🐂
3.25⭐️ | 2.25🌶 this was good. not bad but also not the best either. It was sweet and I loved the relationship between all the friends. Thank you to luna literary management for the arc.
The plot felt fairly predictable from the start and I found some parts repetitive and lacking depth. That said, the sense of connection among the characters was evident and the series itself has potential. It could have used more banter and stronger chemistry in my opinion. I also felt the epilogue would have worked better as the final chapter, leaving room for a futuristic epilogue that got more of Mav and Ava’s story. Curious to see where the series goes from here…
This was mostly cute. But idk. It wasn’t my favorite. I did enjoy many parts of this read. I loved that the FMC is a nurse. I loved the chemistry and the found family. The spice was great. I just found the rest of the book to be kinda meh. Which is shocking because I usually obsess over cowboy romances. It felt like it was missing something, but i can’t put my finger on what that is.
I knew the rich, oopsie husband in Elle Jordan’s Spurred would be a fun read when he thought Ava was housekeeping the next morning after their wild night that led to them accidentally getting married. Ava handled that very well.
The two characters couldn’t be more different at face value. Maverick is a bull rider and owns a ranch—he doesn't play things safe. Ava is a nurse whom friends call “grandma” for being so careful and safe. Their accidental marriage is a surprise to everyone, including Maverick’s manager. His manager worries about how Maverick’s image could impact his endorsements and wants to hide that he married a girl he only met in Vegas, which leads to Ava being stuck in Wyoming until their divorce.
What started out as a light and fun romance ended up making me a bit tearful. Maverick and Ava both had emotional baggage that they brought to their marriage, in addition to doing things backward—dating last and getting married first. Their priorities shifted, and the realization of their purpose did, too. I loved the family aspect of Spurred for Ava. Those scenes were quite special. There were some spice scenes, and they were good, but that was not the primary focus. It was more romantic and relationship-building. I enjoyed it!
Tropes- Accidental Marriage turned forced marriage Bull Rider One night stand Forced proximity Found family "My wife"
✨️ Thank you to Elle Jordan and Ember Literary for the ARC for my honest review! This was such a fun and quick read. I quickly fell in love with the Mav and Ava, and even the side characters. I loved the tension that was built up and how their relationship grew as they were forced to live together. The found family and friendships were perfection. I can't wait to read more of these characters. If you love a fun cowboy romance, this is one you need to read! I definitely recommend it!
Look out Elsie Silver, Elle Jordan just rode into town. Everything about this book was absolutely amazing. I was in love with the characters from the start. Ava is adorable with her grandma vibes, wanting to stay home & just keeping it chill while going to nursing school. Mav is a country boy who doesn’t mind to get out, get his hands dirty, and do some hard work. They are such a great contrast to each other and compliment each other in such a wonderful way. Their story sucks you in right from the start, keeps the pages turning, and has you hoping for the best for these two. I loved watching their relationship grow, and getting to know these characters. Elle does such a beautiful job painting a picture and making you feel as if you were there. She writes her characters in such a wonderful way that really encompasses their emotions, thoughts, and feelings. The spice was top notch and so well done.. phew 😮💨 I have never been so sad to flip to the acknowledgment page and have a story be over.
If you’re a fan of cowboy romance, you will absolutely devour this book. I can’t wait to read the rest in this series.
Thank you so much, Elle, for the opportunity to read this as an ARC. These thoughts and opinions are that of my own.
loved this, the characters were so fun. it felt a tad surface level, it left me wanting more but overall, definitely won't be my last elle jordan book!!!!
“Speak the word, baby, and I will get on my knees for you anytime you ask.”
This was such an easy and cute read! I did find the pacing of the book a bit too fast and the dialogue was awkward in some places but overall I enjoyed it.
Accidental marriage between a bull rider cowboy and nurse, yes please! Maverick is a bull rider trying to compete with his dad's legacy and Ava is a new nurse grad that's always been on her own. One wild night in Vegas leads to a night they can't remember but wedding bands on their fingers. Ava wants it annulled right away but Maverick's schedule leads him away for weeks. By the time they see a judge, it's been almost two months, so she orders for them to remain married for six months to see what they really want. Ava moves to the ranch Maverick lives on with his family and tries to get used to her new life. Along the way, they become closer and feelings get real. Will Maverick be able to win the championship and be the husband he wants to be?
DNF. I am just striking out with romance books lately. For starters this was pretty much pure smut. Which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for, but I was hoping for something more. It’s also a poor rendition of The Longest Ride meets What Happens in Vegas, especially with the whole it’s me or the rodeo ultimatum. Aside from physical attraction, for me the MMC and MFC’s relationship had zero depth. While the banter was fun for a minute, neither character really had much personality either. I think this book had potential but lacked an editors touch to help clean it up.
From Buckles to “My Wife” — A Wild Ride Worth Every Page
Dedication: To my bestie for convincing me that ditching my other manuscript to write this one was the right move. This was the most fun i've ever had writing a book. As a writer, I needed this book to remind me why I love to write in the first place, and it wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for cait.
Ava (FMC): 28 • Nurse • Homebody • Workaholic • Grandma Vibes • Plays it Safe • Anxious Queen • Loves Gummy Candy and RomComs • Maverick (MMC): 30 • Bull Rider • Lives & Breathes the Rodeo • Risk Taker • Hard Worker • Cinnamon Roll Energy • Loves Chocolate Chip Cookies •

Y’ALL. I am feral for this book.
What starts as a wild, tequila-fueled night in Vegas between a freshly certified nurse and a rodeo champ ends with… a wedding ring and a court-ordered six-month cohabitation sentence in the mountains of Wyoming. And honestly? I’d take the sentence too if it meant being stuck with Maverick Ryder—aka the possessive, dirty-talking, bull-riding cowboy of every reader’s dreams.
Ava, our fiercely independent, hyper-focused heroine, is the kind of woman you want as your bestie. Maverick, meanwhile, is all broody charm, big hands, and bigger heart. He drops “my wife” like it’s a love language (Spoiler: it totally is).
I laughed (the meatloaf scene?? ICONIC), I swooned (Mav defending Ava = everything), that truck scene (🥵) and I even swooned during their more tender, vulnerable exchanges. This wasn’t just about romance it was about healing, growing, and finding someone who chooses you, over and over again.
If you love a cowboy with a heart of gold, a heroine with grit, and a romance that’ll lasso your heart and refuse to let go, Spurred On is your next must-read.
And to whoever’s picking this up for the first time? I’m jealous of you, sugar. Buckle up—you’re in for the ride of your life. 🤠💕
Swoony Line: “You’re the first thing I’ve ever loved more than myself and my dreams.”
I received an ARC copy and wanted to leave an honest review.
The premise of this book was really cute and I'm all about finding new cowboy romances that not only deliver a great story, but also have some semblance of accuracy, yet something felt like it was missing here. Real rating of 3.75.
This was a cute book at its surface level and I did like the characters for the most part and I liked the found family, small town vibes, and "my wife" trope and how they delivered. Ava is a nurse who has just graduated nursing school on a girls trip to Vegas when she accidently marries professional bull rider Maverick. I did appreciate how they tried to make things work at the beginning (a judge forcing them to say together though was kind of bizarre to me and I feel like a better reason could've been used because what laws are in this world?) and all the cute little moments where they bonded after moving in together (like movie nights), but it just felt like there was something missing.
Perhaps what stood out to me most in this story was the amount of edits that it still needed both grammatically and spelling-wise and also some of the details that were incorrect. While I know the author prefaced the book by saying that some liberties were taken (which admittedly raised red flags to me from the get-go because how many liberties do you even need to take in a pretty cut and dry rodeo world?), they were details that didn't appear to have an impact on the story itself and timeline and could have been kept accurate to real life. The world of professional bull riding and rodeo is pretty straightforward with some basic research, so when timelines of the rodeo season were not adding up and other tiny details were off (for example putting a horse in a stall with another horse while cleaning stalls is a big no-no as that's a recipe for disaster in such close quarters and the bottle calf was definitely NOT being fed nearly enough), I found myself taken out of the story and feeling like this story wasn't fleshed out as much as it should've been. I guess in a way it felt liked it was a little rushed in how it was written maybe? I felt like there was so much more of Ava and Mav's story that could've been explored as after I finished I didn't find it very memorable.
Overall, this book was cute, but just okay to me that I can honestly bounce anywhere between 3-3.75 stars with depending on how much I reflect upon it, so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt for review purposes. As someone involved in the world of ranching, there are just certain things that I think I flag on that makes me a harsher reader of cowboy romances, but at its surface it is a cute book I think many readers will still enjoy.
Thank you to Luna Literary for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
One of the reasons I love signing up for ARCs is finding authors that are new to me. I normally look at the tropes and the blurb and decide to sign up if it's something I normally would love. This is exactly what happened when I saw Spurred On on the list. I thought I'd never met a cowboy romance book I didnt love so why not? And boy was I glad I signed up. I loved it more than I expected!
We meet the bull riding MMC Maverick and the beautiful nurse FMC Ava in this book. They meet and drunkenly gets married in Vegas. Forced to stay together, these two navigated life with each other and inevitably fell in love. It's a simple and straight up story of a city girl falling in love with a cowboy and his hometown really. The "conflict" although it was rough, was normal, not overly dramatic and resolved quickly. Their love story is so pure and sweet and I just love the no pretention and holds barred way they show their love. I love the way they tease and banter as well. My favorite part of the book is the found family aspect. Every ranch has that old couple that everyone respects and takes care of everybody in the ranch. I love Aspen, Rhett and Weston and I cannot wait for read their books (assuming they are next!). Love how they took Ava in as part of their family and really Maverick too knowing he also doesnt have any family left. I like reading about the bull riding industry better. Loved seeing Mav's POVs when he is competing. It goes to show how 8 seconds seem fast for viewers like us but how that time stretches for the person on top of the bull. I appreciate the pacing and I love the ending. Nothing seemed rushed and the flow of book was natural. Also the spice was great! Super hot and just the appropriate amount.
Overall, I highly recommend this to anyone looking for their cowboy romance fill. It's a very easy and light read. Less drama and more romance. Just like how I like it!
Thank you to Ember Literary PR for the opportunity to read this early!
Tropes: - Forced Proximity - Accidental Marriage - Found Family - Cowboy Romance - Opposites Attract - “My Wife”
First and foremost, I would like to thank Elle Jordan and Ember Literary PR for providing me with an advance reader's copy of Spurred On. I’ve enjoyed every second reading this story, and I can’t wait for other people to read it for the first time as well. This book is ideal for readers who enjoy contemporary cowboy romance, accidental marriages in Vegas, forced proximity, and a protective male lead. I enjoyed watching Ava learn to live outside her comfort zone and build a close circle of people who love her. Ava and Maverick were not looking for love or marriage, but their time spent living together forced them to get to know one another. They found the balance and happiness that their lives needed in each other. Maverick Ryder, our bull rider MMC was anything but ordinary. Ava came barreling into his life and just shook it up. He started to think of something other than his career. He becomes very obsessed and protective of his new wife. Who doesn’t love a possessive MMC? His job poses a risk to his health, which makes Ava very concerned. Will he be forced to choose between his career and his wife? Is their love enough to keep them together? I loved watching Ava stand up for herself and stand her ground, as well as watching Maverick find something that truly makes him happy.
“She’s the puzzle piece I didn’t know was missing, but just snapped into place. Now I can see the big picture, and it’s the best damn thing I’ve ever seen.” If that doesn’t show true love, I don’t know what does. Their chemistry is off the charts throughout the book!!!! Ava and Maverick were soulmates waiting to find each other, and I enjoyed reading their story. I hope everyone else enjoys their story as much as I did.
Spurred On follows the Vegas oopsie marriage of Ava and Maverick "Mav."
This forced proximity, Vegas marriage is good and a great start to the series that Elle Jordan has begin. We meet a heap of characters at the Windy Peaks Ranch in Wyoming. I look forward to the other books she has planned for this series. The core group shows that family doesn't always consist of blood relation. That found family comes in all forms and sometimes the people who help you create a 'home' are the ones to show up when others don't or can't.
Ava is our sassy FMC and Mav is our broody, soft spoken bull rider that's got a lot to prove.. and it's not to his wife. We start off with Ava and Mav making a drunken night of fun along the Vegas strip to a night of passion which includes getting married.
Due to lack of Mav understanding things need to be handled in a timely fashion these two are encouraged to 'make it work.'
Ava has just finished nursing school and applies for a job near where Mav lives and they make it work. Not once did I feel like these two had chemistry until they did. Little drops of intrigue were painted upon the page as the book went on and when they finally got down to business Mav couldn't get enough of his wife, Ava.
Now it's not all sunshine and rainbows near the end so be prepared for a little heart clenching situation. It does end in a HEA but just prepare your heart and maybe get some tissues.
These two had more in common than I would have thought and this story was so good that I finished it in one sitting. You will not regret picking this up and being pulled into the world of Windy Peaks.
includes: ✿ found family ✿ he loves using "my wife" ✿ forced proximity ✿ opposites attract ✿ accidental turned forced marriage ✿ opposites attract
have come to the conclusion that a vegas trip that leads to an accidental marriage is becoming one of my favorite microtopes. the author obviously had to add a fictional element forcing the two main characters to stay together for a certain time period to make the plot work but I really liked the creativeness behind it.
ava and her friends take a trip to vegas and she's aka the "grandma" of the group and when an opportunity arises to prove that she can still have fun, she takes it. que in mav, our hot shot bull rider who has a lot to prove in respect of honoring his dad's legacy in the sport. they meet and BAM wake up the next day married. when they're forced by the judge to stay together for a certain time period before they can file for an annulment.
mav literally stood no chance.. he was down bad immediately. through the book he battles the need to stay in the sport that is aging him and his body and how it keeps him away from his family and now his new wife. I really didn't like the ultimatum ava gave him on picking between the sport or her at the beginning but I understood where she came from. He had given everything to a sport where he felt he had something to prove but it was only Mav that felt that way.
mav and ava's progression felt realistic which made following through progression really enjoyable to see. their movie nights were one of my favorite things!
really can't wait to see this series continue. thank you luna literary for the arc <3
Wild night in Vegas leading to an accidental marriage? He’s a Professional bull rider and she’s a nurse? Forced proximity? Small town? Found family? How could you not want to add this to your TBR?
I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, but I was pleasantly surprised. 2025 is my cowboy/bull rider romance era🫣 This was such a fun time and honestly a very fast paced read. I quite literally struggled to put it down. I really enjoyed our FMC and MMC. I enjoyed following their story as they fell in love. I really enjoyed our side characters. They were so lovable and I hope to see more of them in the future……..
Favorite quotes/highlights:
“You know what they say about a man’s cowboy hat?” He asks and I shake my head. He leans in close to my ear, his hot breath on my neck makes me suck in a breath. “Wear the hat, ride the cowboy.”
“The best. Your heart would be safe with him. I would tell you if it wasn’t. And if he breaks it I will fuck him up. And he knows I can. A swift kick in the balls renders all men useless.” (I love Aspen)
I’m not sure if I need to tell him to stop eyeballing my wife like that. He has about one more second of staring at her before eating his own balls for dinner.
Huge thank you to Elle Jordan and Ember Literary PR for the copy of the book! I look forward to what comes next!
Thank you to Elle Jordan and Luna Literary for my ARC of this book - an accidental wedding in Vegas and they have to stay married, what is not to like?
If you like your small town romances with a super warm, cosy, happy vibe this is the book for you. It’s like a hug. There is plenty of emotion and tension between the characters but throughout the vibes are warm and it feels happy. All the emotions are relatable and understandable. You know a happy ending is coming and it makes you smile.
I loved the banter between Ava and Maverick. It was witty, at times it was spicy and it was on point. Ava is strong and independent and isn’t going to let the idiot cowboy who she is forced to stay in a relationship with win and we loved her for that!!! Maverick really doesn’t stand a chance!
Maverick was a top character and I really liked him. Bit of an idiot, makes some less than strong choices (one of them being the reason they have to stay married) but I really liked him. Loads of green flags - he is kind, he is thoughtful, he is a great friend, he is hard working and when he wants to he can pull out the romance too. I think the world needs more Mavericks!!!
Overall, a really nice read. Super comforting and when you finish you have a smile on your face.
