I can’t say enough about this wonderful series! Not only does it introduce children to important people, but it does so in a way that is informative and enjoyable for the parent. My daughter read this aloud. Today she explained it to her second grade neighbor by saying: Malala lived in Pakistan where education for girls was not valued. Can you believe there are places in the world where girls can’t go to school? Some very bad people hurt Malala very badly, but she wasn’t angry and she forgave them. This book is about forgiveness.” Speechless mom moment.

"I speak not for myself but for those without voice... those who have fought for their rights... their right to live in peace, their right to be treated with dignity, their right to equality of opportunity, their right to be educated." - Malala Yousafzai

Who Is Malala Yousafzai? by Dinah Brown, Andrew Thomson (Illustrator) is the remarkable story of Malala. It starts at birth on and tells all the details of her getting shot and after. It is an amazing story of courage and one that not many could or would do. Lots of info jammed in this book of over 100 pages! Lots of great sketches too. Great book for all ages not just for kids.

Before I read this book I knew some information and fact about Malala Yousafzai, but after reading this book again I have learned way more than what I did before and that is why I really enjoy reading books like these ones because it is fun and not boring to read and also you learn way more then what you did before. I learned so much about what her life is like and how she handled it. I would read these kind of books over and over again.

Another high quality installment in the Who Is/What Is series! Malala is an inspiration not just to young readers, but to everyone; her courage, commitment to education, and enthusiasm are lessons for all of us. Malala was raised by supportive and progressive parents, which helped fine-tune her natural passion into advocacy and her life's work. Presenting Malala's life in the context of the geopolitical realities of Pakistan is extremely helpful for readers to get a full picture of just how remarkable her work is. Highly recommend!

My daughter loved hearing this story of a young girl, and one that didn't happen in the distant history, but captured events that happened in her lifetime. It allowed us to have some important conversations about religion and cultural differences. She didn't want to stop reading it.

I was reading a book in the English class. The name of the book is Malala Yousafzal. The book talks about Malala Yousafzai was a girl who loved to learn but was told that girls would no longer be allowed to go to school. She wrote a blog that called attention to what was happening in her beautiful corner of Pakistan and realized that words can bring about change. She has continued to speak out for the right of all children to have an education. In 2014 she won the Nobel Peace Prize.
I was very enjoy to read that book because Malala Yousafzal was a brave girl. She was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman in 2012, but survived and went on to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Her powerful and her staunch made me understand what is courage? Courage is before of violence and hatred still insist on your faith. courage is witnessing the ugliness of human nature and cruel but still dare to dream and the pursuit of better world. I never meet a girl such like Malala Yousafzal in the world. What a brave girl, she didn't afraid anythings she just wants to support her beliefs and realize her peace dream.

Who is Malala Yousafzai? The bravest girl. I think Malala is the bravest person out there right now because she stood up for what she believed in even though many other people would be scared to do that. She gets education for girls and that is the coolest thing ever because girls need to be treated the same as boys in the education way. I love her stand. I can't believe she survived, and I am overjoyed that she did when she got shot. The Nobel Peace Prize is a great way to get recognition and she should be recognized after what she went through. All she was was a girl who wanted education. But she wanted it so badly, she changed the world. You all could do that too. Fight for what's right. Girl, boy, do what is right even when nobody is watching. MALALA YOUSAFZAI EVERYBODY!!!

Malala Yousafzai is a strong, empowering woman that helped reopen schools so that everybody could be able to attend school to get an education. Even after getting shot she still continued to fight for children’s rights. I hope to be almost as amazing as Malala Yousafzai is.

I love this book because this book tells you about a girl who inspired the world about education. I would rate this 5 stars out of 5. I think you should read this because it will inspire you to like education. If don't like school it will show you to be happy to have education because not all kids have an education. I recommend this book to people who like inspirational books. I think this book will make you feel just I feel about education and you learn new things

Genre: Biography
Recommended grade levels: 3rd-5th
Unique feature: Occasionally, there are pages that give a brief overview of other people, places, or things related to/discussed in the story. This information helps the reader to make sense of the context of the story without detracting from the overall flow of the book.
