İşte Magic Animal Friends'in 3. kitabını da bitirdim.

The duckling, Ellie is adorable! I think she's the cutest character I've seen yet in the Magic Animal Friends series.

E: “I loved it and I loved how it was birthday themed. It was Ellie Featherbell’s birthday — and she got lost! I like the whole series and I wanted to see what happened. I also loved how the ending turned out.”

Another sweet treat from the powerhouse world of Scholastic and Daisy Meadows. I had this one suggested to me by a little person who returned it at the biblio last week and I was swept away by the duckling on the cover. My little customer had the biggest smile and said it was "the best book ever". I took it from her and said I would check it out. So, I did and was so pleased. Look at this little duckling. She is wearing a flower wreath on her head? Who can resist this? Very similar to the Rainbow Magic series (good for some families, not so good for others) but the animal element is a nice entry point.

Instead of fairies we are given magic animals who walk and talk and have an important role to play, allowing the 'author' to talk about some environmental messages which could be great for some kids. There are still 2 girls involved - a little bit of Rachel & Kirsty at play - but they are named Lily and Jess, and there is an evil element for them to battle against but it's not too, too scary. I think it's tonnes of fun and so far was able to flip through two others in this series which had a bunny and cat as the focus. Magic animals who help two girls to save the world from an evil witch named Grizelda? It all sounds pretty great to me and for some younger readers who have the pleasure of finishing a book which has a solid plot and a satisfying ending where good triumphs over evil + there is a talking cat. I don't know how it can get much better. Plus, Ellie has a crown of flowers...

Jess and Lily are once again visiting Friendship Forest. They've been invited to celebrate Ellie Featherbill's birthday. However, she has gone missing. It seems that Grizelda and her Boggits are trying once again to make the animals leave the forest. This time they are out to pollute the water source.

This is a really sweet addition to the Magic Animal Friends series. My daughter fell in love with the author's Rainbow Magic series over the summer. When our librarian noticed us constantly checking those out, she suggested that we look into this series as well. We love the idea of the girls entering a magical forest in order to help their animal friends. My daughter loves the fact that the animals can talk. She's especially fond of the tongue tied owl! In this story, she loved the family of turtles who wore swimming caps!!

This is the first book (we've read the previous two), where my daughter enjoyed the banter between the gruesome Boggits. Unlike the goblins and Jack Frost, she has been a tad unsure about Grizelda and maybe a bit confused by how the Boggits speak. I believe she doesn't like how Grizelda is drawn too! However, in this book she got a huge kick out of the Boggits when they were lost in the maze.
