Farrah Seaverson is living proof that while a person may make mistakes, mistakes don’t make the person. After years of incarceration, she has finally learned the hard lessons from the choices she made that riddled her life with pain and loneliness, and she’s ready to start a new life, free from the addictions that controlled her before.
After so many years away from her son, whether because of the poison she was putting into her body or the price she ended up paying for her bad decisions, she decided to settle down in Rojo, Texas, where he’s made a life for himself with the support of his adopted family. Their relationship is different now, not just because he’s an adult, but also because she’s gotten sober.
Unfortunately, after so many years of back and forth, it can be difficult for the ones who tried to help only to watch you fail repeatedly to be convinced that you’re truly ready to succeed.
Lynn Serrano is a happy father and a successful business owner who is fighting a different kind of battle, this one because of poor choices his daughter made that affected her children. Her addiction and the crimes she committed because of it made mothering her children impossible, and it’s up to Lynn to step in and raise the next generation of his family. He knows he can’t let anything get in the way of that.
A chance meeting introduces two very different people, but the attraction they feel quickly turns into something that they both feel is worth the fight. Luckily, they’re not alone this time. Through assumptions, misunderstandings, and a lot of laughter, Lynn and Farrah gratefully accept the second chance that life has given them and turn it into their own happily ever after.
Join Cee Bowerman in Rojo, Texas as she explores what it’s like for women who have worked so hard to get to a brighter place yet still have more work to do to find their own happily ever after. This series will have references to some of her other work, and you’ll even be able to catch up with characters you’ve already grown to love as you accompany these delicate flowers on their journey toward realizing that they’re really not delicate at all.
This one was interesting and what made it so interesting was seeing a lot of different sides of addition, where people are at and how it affects so many in the lives of the addict.
You have Farrah, who is finally getting her life together and so doesn't want to screw up, gets scared about different things along the way, things that were very valid. Seeing her with Colt was great! They have a good relationship now, but it wasn't always so and she had to let him go, for him. But even then, there were times that he jumped to the wrong conclusion and sure he and everyone else should have given Farrah the benefit of the doubt, but her past made it hard. That is something they all are going to have to learn to deal with.
Then we have Lynn, who's daughter just lost her kids to her addition and actions, those kids now living with him full time. His other daughter seemingly has the "perfect" life in counter balance. It's interesting to see how he's doing with the grands and his daughters, his life changing to a new normal.
In the midst of all of this the two of them meet, feel that spark and start to explore it. The road there is bumpy at the start due to what Lynn is going through and Farrah's past. Things do get worked out and they are able to build something strong with all of their family. It's nice to see how things ended, all of them deserve the happiness they have found.
I look forward to reading more in this series, want to see more of these Delicate Flowers find their lives back to a new normal for them.
Even though there are many, one of my favorite things about this author's books is the down to earth style of her stories, as well as the every day lives of the characters, and how she's not afraid to write about the difficult topics. These things, as well as so much more, are what make every book so unique and amazing. Although these are fictional stories, there's a realistic quality to them that makes it easy to relate to, which I love. Many years ago, in my younger years, I was addicted to a few different kind of drugs and an alcoholic. I have been alcohol and drug free for more than 30 years now. Luckily for me, I never went to prison, which was a miracle in itself. When I read in a previous book about Zoey's new dream project, I knew that it would affect me on a personal level, but it went much deeper than I thought it would. I knew many people who were in and out of prison for years, and I believe that if there had been someone like Pop (from the Time Served MC series) and Zoey, as well as a place like they operate, it would have drastically changed numerous lives. My heart goes out to everyone who has had to deal with any of this either themselves or someone they know. This story was emotionally charged, intense at times, surprising at others, absolutely hilarious, along with many unexpected twists that will hook you from beginning to end. It's a definite must read book and series. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
Cee Bowerman delivers a deeply moving and inspiring story in Farrah, the first book in The Delicate Flowers series. This novel follows Farrah Seaverson, a woman fighting to reclaim her life after years of addiction and incarceration. Determined to stay sober and rebuild her relationships, she moves to Rojo, Texas, with the hope of reconnecting with her son and proving that her past does not define her.
Bowerman skillfully explores themes of redemption, resilience, and second chances. Farrah’s journey is raw and real, filled with setbacks and triumphs as she works to earn trust and rebuild her life. Her unexpected connection with Lynn Serrano—a successful business owner and devoted father—adds an emotional depth to the story, proving that love and healing can come when least expected.
With compelling characters, heartfelt storytelling, and a powerful message of perseverance, Farrah is a must-read for fans of contemporary romance. Bowerman crafts a narrative that is both emotional and uplifting, making readers root for Farrah as she fights for the life she deserves. If you enjoy stories of personal growth, redemption, and the power of love, Farrah is an unforgettable read.
Oh Man who doesn't love a second chance at life and love. Farrah's book contains both in a few ways especially for Farrah, but Lynn gets his own second chance as well. What a great way to start the new Delicate Flowers series. One of the things I love most about Cee's books is that they are always relatable, she doesn't skirt around the hard truths and realties of certain subjects like abuse or substance abuse. We always get the HEA we are looking for with a dose of reality. Farrah and Lynn's book is no different, but man their stories is all about hope, hard work and perseverance. Plus we get to catch up on our Rojo family we love so much. I absolutely loved this book and can't wait to see who we get to see next in the series. I highly recommend you start this series. If you have read Cee's books you are already familiar with some of the characters.
This is a new series, The Delicate Flowers. Well, these ladies are about as delicate as a bomb. This series is about women who have a past history with drugs alcohol ect. This is Farrah and Lynn's story they are a perfect match. Both of them understand both sides of addiction and how it affects the family and the addict. This series will touch on some sensitive topics for some people who have lived through these things and understand the good bad and ugly. But it can also be very rewarding seeing people be able to change and have a very happy fulfilling life while also repairing the damage with family and friends that was caused due to poor choices they made. This was a fantastic start to a new series. I can't wait for the other flowers stories.
Cee Bowerman has created a world that I want to live in and a group of people that I would proudly call friends. Every single book she writes has me at some point laughing out loud with tears on my face. And sometimes those tears are from my heart aching from the very realistic scenes her characters are living. I adore Rojo Texas and am envious of the people that get to live there. I love that Farah found Lynn and they get to live the rest of their lives together. Farah's life is so very rich with her new family and friends. I am looking forward to more books in this series - I can't wait to see who catches Moe!
Love a good redemption story. Farrah is working and now living at the flower patch - she's an ex-con and recovering addict. Lynn and his family is also going through the process of moving on after a family member's struggles with addiction. Will this make them stronger together, or is it all too similar for him to take a chance on. With OG cameos, new side characters to get to know and of course the found family that forms the spine of Cee's stories, this is another lovely story that proves it's not your past that dictates the future, if you've got the will to change. Can't wait for the next one!
Farrah and Lynn were absolutely perfect for each other.
She is a recovering addict and ex-con, he is a devoted father and Pop.
They have enough in common to understand eachother but so many differences that makes the couple fun and exciting.
I loved how the kids were and the questions they had for Farrah. And how she could explain some things that they could understand with regards to their mum.
I love Moe, I can't wait to see who she ends up with!
I really enjoyed this new series and I have a lot of respect for Ms Cee touching on difficult subjects.
This is the first book in a new series and this is Lynn and Farrah's story. This is a well written story which has found family, friendships, emotions, challenges, heartbreak, loyalty, humour, witty banter, trust, acceptance, making choices, undeniable chemistry, and unconditional love, which all leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and captivating addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I chose this rating because this was a pretty good book. I enjoyed pretty much all of the characters. This was a book of compassion, kindness and understanding. I enjoyed Lynn and Farrah story. How they came together was awesome. They both had to deal with some things that were going on in their lives. The author did a great job putting these two characters together. I think they made a great couple she helped him with his situation and he was there for her with hers. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers and mystery lovers.
OMG! Rojo just never gets old! I don’t think I’ll ever get enough. I am so happy to get the first of the Delicate Flowers stories. And these women are certainly delicate - delicate like a bomb. Farrah definitely had me all up in my emotions. I couldn’t have made a better match if I had written this story myself. Lynn and Farrah have that soul deep connection. As with any Cee Bowerman book, there was plenty of laughter. It’s all laughter, love and real life. I can’t wait for more!
My god that was a great read. I cannot say that i know anyone that has had to struggle with addiction and rebuilding their lives but i feel this gave me a very strong insight and was extremely well thought out and sensitive but honest. Its not the first book Cee has written that mentioned either addiction or incarceration and like all the others I recommend Cee’s books. Kale is still my favourite and always love seeing in him even if it only one scene…
Love love love! I can't wait to see where this new series goes! This first book was really good. Bot characters were affected by addiction in different ways, the MFC had been in prison multiple times for it, finally achieving sobriety. The MMC had custody of his grandchildren because his daughter killed someone while under the influence, she too suffered from addiction. These two and the support system was amazing. I loved this book.
I knew this series was going to begin with a lot of craziness and these women Zoey is helping. They are each similar in many ways in what they have experienced but their personalities are somewhat different as well. Farrah is an amazingly strong and kind person who didn’t have faith her life would turn out the way it has in this book. All good feelings and HEA.
Another Nomad finds a home, or two. Granted, Farrah is not a member of Time Served, but she has served time. She's screwed up her life badly but is now Ina better place. She has a supportive "family", regular meetings with her crew to help handle her addiction, and a supportive boss in Zoey Duke. She also has a supportive half-brother in Chai, also known as Fish of Time Served. Problems arise but the women for the most part face everything bravely.
Within the first 5 minutes I was literally peeing myself from laughing. This book was awesome. Love Moe and her mouth. You can't go wrong with this one guys. Its the best and I want to read it again!! Lynn and Farrah are perfect for each other and its a really great book! Loving and living with addicts and being a felon myself, I can relate to this entire book! Cee did a fantastic job with this one
This book is about giving excons a second chance. It is about Farrah and Lynn and their families. Lynn is trying to adopt his 2 granddaughters because their mother will be in prison for the next 15 years. Farrah and Lynn want to date but can’t as she was an addict and CPS wouldn’t like that. It also covers how both cops and other people have jumped to conclusions about them relapsing when they haven’t. It covers topics we should all think about.
I love this story and will love the future stories to come in this series. There are so many themes in this book that could encourage so many people. Never give up. Even though you fall, you can always get back up. Lean in to your support group. It’s not wise to go it alone. Keep learning. Keep improving. There is so many more. And the kids were a riot and the laugh needed. Thanks, Cee for writing such an important book.
This book was Wonderful Cee!! All of your books have that certain something but I literally was upset when life got in the way and I wasn't able to read. These Women went thru so much yet they were funny, engaging, hopeful and caring. They all deserved the good things coming to them. They deserved the friends and family coming their way. Your readers need to snatch this one up and enjoy each character in it.
This is the start of a new series and I really enjoyed it. Farrah has a rough go of life and is basically starting over at almost 50. It's interesting to get a different perspective from female ex-con's. What Zoey has created is special and much needed. Love all the personalities. Lots of laughs. Lynn is fantastic. What his famiy is going through is also very difficult and he and Farrah find a kinship in eachother. Looking forward to more stories from the ladies.
I love all of this authors books, and I will read anything she writes. However, this new series about women that have been incarcerated is just brilliant. I guess those of us that I’ve never been in jail or prison. Don’t really understand the hardships that come to people that have been and they are trying to integrate back into society. It has caused me to stop and think and see how I can do better.
I just love Cee Bowerman and all her books. Really excited for this new series. This one seemed really cyclical which was interesting. Like you could see the characters growing and breaking away from bad cycles and habits and creating new beneficial ones and other people mentioned that I’m sure we will find out about later if they are able to break away from their bad cycles as well and grow into better people.
Farrah's story seriously pulled at my heartstrings. Experiencing her rebuilding her life, forging a relationship with her son after so many years apart got me a little teary. She has so much on her plate but when she meets Lynn, she has even more reasons to stay on the right path. The redemption, the struggles that people go through to pull together a new life was awe inspiring. Heartwarming and romantic, loved it!!
This is about second chances and series bout redemption. Farrah out her son through a lot of trauma with her addiction and multiple arrests. At nearly 50 years old, she's put her life back together. Lynn is raising his granddaughters because his daughter had an addiction that caused her take a life and go to prison. My favorite person is Moe. She's Farrah's best friend. She has so many entertaining scenes.
Cee I think you broke me. This book was emotional, heartfelt, hilarious, & spicy! I’m not just talking bedroom spicy. I’m talking spicy personality from side characters. Which I hope they get books of their own. Don’t get me wrong the bedroom spice was there & you delivered. Can we get more Lynn’s in the world. Seriously…. Talk about green flag kind of man. Can’t wait for more Delicate Flower books.
This redemption story is wonderful,Farrah and Lynn have lots of stumbling blocks in their way to get their relationship started but that’s what makes this second chance romance so worth it. Some new friends, some old friends, laughter, tears and lots of love. Highly recommend this author and everything she writes.🖤❤️
love the book. loved the characters, storyline, family dynamics and the little glimpses of the Rojo world peaking thru. however, my review lost a star because the author left the Jill and Margie storyline hanging without any consequences.... everybody doesn't live the redemption story and we were ok to see that instead of it being left open-ended.
