Targeted is a story of broken souls that are healed by the love of others who stay, even in the face of adversity.

As a child, her imagination was never dormant; a story was always in the making. She completed her first crime short story series before she turned ten. At the age of sixteen, Susanna wrote her first book, which was published a few years later.
When she's not writing, Susanna enjoys baking, relaxing on the beach, music, and her most recent hobby, painting.

I really enjoyed this story and the way it offers a glimpse into the lives of agents—the challenges they face, and how their mission to take down evil can put both their own lives and the lives of those they love at risk. One of the best parts for me was seeing these agents live out their faith, trusting God even in dangerous and uncertain situations. Just like us, they didn’t always understand why things happened the way they did, but they chose to bring their concerns to God and keep moving forward in faith. That made the story a beautiful example of leaning on Him in all circumstances.
One note for readers: the book begins by alternating between present day and events from seven years earlier. I personally had a little trouble keeping the timelines straight at first. But if that’s you, keep going—it does eventually stay in the present day, and you’ll see that those flashbacks were building an important foundation for the story.
Targeted is a really good story full of action with a side of romance.
DEA agent Grant Rourke does his job and he does it well. When Grant is left with profound hearing loss after a deliberately set explosion. Grant needs to learn how to navigate his new world and turns to New Beginnings Deaf Community Services.
Candace White is the director of New Beginnings Deaf Community Services. She committed to helping people suffering from recent hearing loss to learn how to better function in a world designed for the hearing. When Grant shows up she is immediately drawn to him. Their attraction opens her up to the danger in Grant’s world.
I was intrigued by the action in this book that kept me hooked until the end. I thought the representation of the deaf community was outstanding.
This was an overall good read.
I received an ARC of this book from the author. My opinions are my own.
This is a wild ride from page one. The storyline is intriguing enough to keep this reader engaged when the details were more than I wanted to know. There isn’t a cliffhanger but there also isn’t a happily ever after ending. The police work seems very realistic while some characters seem less so, like Elaine’s overly emotional responses to Connor. I like the positive representation of the deaf community and some of what this population endures. It was very eye opening. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it definitely won’t be my last! There was a lot of action, some heartbreak, new love blooming, revenge, police in difficult situations and so much more! You get it all in this full length novel that will keep you wanting more. Although not a cliffhanger, per se, there is still more of this story to come and I am ready to know how it all pans out in the end. Highly recommend!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. The review is my honest opinion of it.
Dual storyline- while the book had plenty of action I would say it was a steady medium pace building up to a fast pace towards the end. While there was romance it doesn’t really end with typical romance happy ever after. Great story of showing loss, fear and anger. Enjoyed how this book allows you to see a glimpse into someone’s life who is deaf and the struggles of daily life.
Enjoyed this cat and mouse book. It certainly kept me on the edge of my seat. It was different with two, sort of, main couples. I loved the faith that the author included in the book and I loved that there was romance but it certainly wasn't the main part of the book. This was my first book by this author, but it won't be my last.
A multifaceted story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. You will certainly enjoy Targeted, I highly recommend it. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.
I received a copy of this book. Great Story and wonderful characters. Full of action and plot twists. Looking forward to reading more books by this author.
Probably the best so far in the series, taking a deep look at loss, anger, frustration and coping with difficult situations. This book kept me on my toes, with its flashbacks and its dual storyline. I appreciated seeing how the characters handled challenges and dealt with their previous traumas.
The book is suspenseful without being gruesome or outright scary and the underlying love story coupled with friendship was sweet.
