Clark and Amethyst were travelling together, following the instructions of Clark’s dead father Eric to discover the hidden inventions which Senator Horan wanted. Clark needed to find them first, to keep them from Horan’s clutches. Clark had drunk from a vial of liquid which he’d mistakenly thought was absinthe. But it was one of his (then unknown) father’s inventions and now he could see the dead as well as bring dead people back to life. Clark had had trouble coming to terms with his new ability, but now he enjoyed chatting with his father – Amethyst knew of his ability and the cause of it, knew of Eric’s presence, but of course she couldn’t see or hear him.
Unbeknown to them both, Captain Greenwood was still after Clark – the army wanted him to experiment on and they were determined to find him. To date, Greenwood had tracked him back to the Treasure farm – Amethyst’s family lived on the farm, and Clark had spent some time there in the past. Greenwood was a cruel and vindictive man, and in cahoots with Senator Horan. He decided the best way to draw Clark into his circle was to hold the Treasure family hostage – Clark and Amethyst would return to help them, wouldn’t they?
What would happen to Clark when the army captured him? And what would happen to Amethyst if she carried out her plan to save them all? The danger was high – the result could be catastrophic.
Born of Treasure is the second in the Treasure Chronicles by author Jordan Elizabeth Mierek after Treasure, Darkly which I thoroughly enjoyed. Fascinating and well written, this steampunk, scifi novel is set in a world of fantasy, mystery and suspense. I can’t wait to read the next in the series and highly recommend Born of Treasure to all speculative fiction lovers.

I received a free book from the author in exchange for an honest review
And the story has ended. I've got to admit, this paranormal, odd technology kinda latched on to me.
A different kind of world, different circumstances, yet a whole new perspective on reading. Bravo to Jordan! Seriously the author did a well job in introducing her historical, paranormal, spunky series.
I'll miss Clark and Am's adventures.

They were a team of outlaws, a ghost, and a girl with powers. They should’ve been unstoppable.
This is the second instalment of the Treasure Chronicles. The hunt for Eric's, Clark's late father, inventions is still on. But captain Greenwood is closer than ever on Clark's heels, and more determined this time to capture him to be handed over to to the government and be experimented on.
The action kept most of the plot going and it was quite exciting though there was big chunk of romance that I thought unnecessary, and so much sexuality that might not even make this book safe for younger teens, in my oponion. But what did I expect, this is the 'Wild' West after all, what ways would you know it to be wild, other than that every other man in town owns a gun, and tend to use them a lot in the story.
By the way, I highly recommend checking this series out even if you aren't much of a steampunk reader. This is a good start, it's got vivid descriptions, an engaging plot and characters you'd definitely care reading about.
Speaking of characters, I felt like I got to know about the characters more in this book and realised how much I relate to Zechariah caught up in adventure! I really do have a liking for him.
Amethyst was amazing. She showed just how much of a fight she could put up for the sake of family, and she was so brave in a lot of situations, unlike the old Amethyst who seemed to act rather recklessly than for bravery. I really liked how she tried to to sympathise with Clark about his previous life, and how she loved her uncle so much. Aw. Uncle Albert seemed really nice.
Also, Garth. Seeing how incredibly honest he could be was adorable. And I obviously love Georgette, as mentioned in my review of the previous book.
And oh, would you look at Jeremiah in love?
. . . Alyssa was rain, soothing and soft.
I still don't get why Clark and Amethyst hadn't told the family about their marriage before. Would've been awkward and had saved a lot of bother.
And I wonder how the weather forecasting watch worked. It seemed very cool - and useful too. Most of the inventions' workings went right over my head. Especially the tonic and it seemed more paranormal than scientific to me.
Overall I enjoyed the characters a lot, and the run was thrilling and Jeremiah's part was very exciting too.

BOOK REVIEW PER KMJ BOOK REVEALS
Hey ya'll,
So I just finished reading this heart-pounding novel called, Born of Treasure by Jordan Elizabeth and I was taken on the most intense adventure of my entire life.
Can I just say wow?! I loved this novel. Everyone is on the hunt for the man who took the magical absinthe that allows people to bring the dead back to life. This is the second installment of the Treasure Chronicles and it has most definitely lived up to my high expectations despite one of my favorite characters Daniel not making an appearance.
What I particularly enjoyed about this novel is getting a chance to see more of Amethyst. In Born of Treasure you get a chance to see this very privileged and irresponsible young woman turn into this brave heroine that makes all of us proud in the end, but what I like is that though she is a heroine in this installment you could see Amethyst retain her inappropriate yet charming personality.
And a lot of times I find that when reading the sequel to a novel that the author is not able to show a transitioned character that has an immense growth, but is still able to be individually unique to the audience. I give props to Elizabeth for being able to pull this off in such an incredible way that the reader doesn't feel like they have read a completely different series.
Another character I took liking to though he is a villain would have to be Captain Greenwood. This is the first villain I have seen that understands what persistence is and decides to implement that in his ever surging frustration to obtain the Treasure family. I enjoyed how in control he seemed. Captain Greenwood is ruthless and very bodacious in his plans of attack to "help" out his country. I won't spoil anything, but he definitely kept pushing me to read on.
Also, on a final note Mabel has finally made a full entrance into this series. I believe it's going to be very interesting to watch her and see how she reacts with this "new" Clark. I feel like she's stuck in this fantasy that he is exactly how she left him as a child due to trauma caused by being Captain Greenwood's slave. And I wonder how Amethyst is going to be able to deal with this elementary crush. Will Amethyst be offended? Or will she be understanding of Mabel's psychological attachments? Who knows?

I was contacted by Jordan Mierek and offered a complimentary copy of this novel – the sequel to the breath taking Treasure, Darkly – in exchange for an honest review. It’s not often that I can say the second installment in a series truly lives up to the potential of its predecessor, but in this case I most certainly can, and with gusto. I was afraid, with this second novel, that one of the two elements I loved so much in the first – Mierek’s astonishingly elegant grasp of both steampunk atmosphere and the Western genre – would have to flag. But no, both are still alive and well in the Treasure Chronicles universe!
I was completely taken in by each of the characters all over again, but Amethyst is especially given her moments to shine in this novel. As with the first, if I have one complaint it’s that I’m again left hungry for more of this series! The author has stated on her Goodreads page that further installments are hopefully to come, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
If you’re a fan of steampunk, westerns, romances, or crossed-genres in general and you haven’t given this series a shot, please do. I whole-heartedly recommend it.

It is quite challenging to write a sequel which is just as good, if not better, than the previous instalment. Not for Jordan Mierek, as the story remains fresh and exciting, with new surprises to look out for. Still steampunk, still romance and western all the way.
While I feel that the second instalment in the series could be a bit longer, the resolution is certainly satisfying. The author chose the right moment to say goodbye to this story and its characters.
Do not miss all the marvellous things this book has to offer. Read it and be a part of a rare, definitely unique experience!

Was given a copy for an honest review.
After reading Treasure Darkly I couldn't wait to start reading this book. I HAD to know what happened!!
AFter learning Clark's secret and why he was so attracted to what he thought was his half sister, Amethyst the plot thickens... The entire Treasure family has been drawn into the plot and what the Govt has been up to... and he is being led by his real father.... from beyond the grave. I wont say more because I do not want to be a spoiler.
Jordan Elizabeth continues to drawn me into her books and take me on a journey. The writing is descriptive and every character is very developed. I highly recommend these books. If you like Steampunk you will LOVE this series!

An action packed sequel to Treasure, Darkly! The author Jordan Elizabeth steps up the pace in this steampunk western. The Treasure Family are on the run from an evil Senator and the Army, who's bound and determined to get their hands on Clark. If you've read the blurb, then you know Clark drank a substance which gives him special powers to see and raise the dead.
Clark and his precocious wife, Amethyst take the reader on a wild ride, which will have you quickly swiping or turning the pages. There's plenty of shoot 'em up drama, suspense, elements of paranormal, and some delectable romance.

Just as good as the first
Fun twists and turns. I am looking forward to seeing what Amethyst will do next and how Clark will handle it. I won't spoil things but there are a lot of things in book two that should be interesting to see played out in book three. I can recommend. Gbash

After rushing through book one and having a good time with the western-paranormal- steampunk world, plot and characters, I was eager for book two. When I read book one, I had no idea that it was a duology. I was thinking it would be a longer series and maybe it will, but the particular story arc in book one was concluded by book two in a most satisfactory way.
This is part two to the story begun in book one and thus, its not one that can standalone or be read out of order.
The story picks up from where book one left off. Clark and Amethyst are traveling about collecting the important magical gadgets that his father invented to keep them out of the hands of the powerful Senator Horan, the rest of the Treasures are faced with a conniving army captain trying to capture and bring Clark in for experimentation and exploitation of his necromantic power even while the Senator is working to crush the Treasures once and for all.
Things get pretty dire for everyone, but it is not hopeless. Amethyst takes advantage of an opportunity even while the Treasures learn they are not without friends in the midst of betrayal and injustice.
Alright, this one leaped out of the gate and never looked back. There is a thrilling opening scene and then things escalate from there. This is not the book to grab if you're looking for deep character development. Any character building and plot development took place in book one. The worldbuilding is established although the characters explore a few new settings in their adventures. I felt that this book was the big finish while book one was the foundation that built to the finish. Not that this was a problem, but it was unexpected since I didn't realize it was a duo instead of a series. This is on me. I made the adjustment and enjoyed what I got.
I was actually glad for the feverish pace because that issue I had with Clark and Am's relationship was still there and my iffy feelings about Am probably got stronger. I can appreciate Am's spoilt, strong-willed character and even chuckle a bit at her over the top antics and 'the world revolves around me' view. But like it and respect it? Not really.
As to the relationship between Clark and Am, I didn't feel like they grew up as much as got somewhat more cunning and slightly lucky. It was like two horny teens with impulsive tendencies and not enough maturity to be in a relationship. I was left hanging on something that should have occupied a significant part in the end when it came to their relationship.
The end came fast and furious when it came to the confrontation with the villains. And then things wrapped up quickly, too. After all the build up through the first book and into most of the second, I did want more though I will say that all loose ends when it came to the action plot were dealt with.
I don't mean to give the impression that I didn't like the book because I did, but just that there were some niggles mixed in with the like. I enjoyed the time spend with the Treasure family and would hope for some more adventures.
Speaking of more adventures, I loved that surprise short story about Clark tucked in there in the end. That was a creepy one to be sure.
All in all, I had a good time with this set of books blending the Old West with steampunk and paranormal, some romance and a whole lot of gritty action.

I got this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was looking forward to reading this one. This was a fantastic continuation of the story started in the first book; I really enjoyed it. There is a ton of wonderful western steampunk action. This book wraps up the story started in the first book, but is sounds like there may be more adventures in the future for Clark and Amethyst.
Clark and Amethyst are traveling the countryside in an effort to find all of Clark’s father’s inventions and keep them out of the hands of the evil Senator Horan. However when Captain Greenwood can’t track down Clark he decides to go after the rest of the Treasure family in an effort to drive Clark out. With the army taking over their ranch the Treasure family ends up in exile. Clark is helping them survive but they deserve better than this and he wants to be the one to fix things. Of course Amethyst has a better idea and when she finds a vial of the same elixir that gave Clark his powers over death all bets are off.
I absolutely loved this book. It’s one of those perfect books that is an excellent balance of everything. There is excellent world-building, engaging characters, interesting magic, tons of action, and a wonderfully unpredictable plot.
I really loved spending more time with Clark and Amethyst; they are a great couple with a lot of pluck. We hear a lot more from Amethyst in this book. Over the course of the book she develops into a very daring and capable women, who is fierce yet still tender. We also spend more time getting to know the Treasure family and I really enjoyed that; they are an intriguing and resourceful family.
We get to spend a bit more time in that grey in-between world of death. Amethyst does not shy away from power over death like Clark does. Also the powers that Erik’s serum give over death are explored more and expanded...this was really interesting. I would love to see this explored more in future books.
The whole world has a very wild west feel to it, but there is also some interesting technology sprinkled throughout. There are a lot of interesting devices that were incredibly cool. I also really enjoyed all the shootouts and awesome action scenes.
The story is very engaging and easy to read; the dialogue is snappy and flows well. The story is tied up well, but I would love to see more about these characters in future book. I will be sad if this is the last book in the series and we don’t get to read any more about this world and characters!
Overall an absolutely wonderful western steampunk story. This book has it all; an excellent world, engaging characters, magic, action, and a twisty plot. I really loved it. I sincerely hope there are more books added to this series and that this isn’t the last one. I would recommend to those who like having some western feel to their action packed steampunk reads.

However when Captain Greenwood can’t track down Clark he decides to go after the rest of the Treasure family in an effort to drive Clark out. With the army taking over their ranch the Treasure family ends up in exile. Clark is helping them survive but they deserve better than this and he wants to be the one to fix things. Of course Amethyst has a better idea and when she finds a vial of the same elixir that gave Clark his powers over death all bets are off.
I absolutely loved this book. It’s one of those perfect books that is an excellent balance of everything. There is excellent world-building, engaging characters, interesting magic, tons of action, and a wonderfully unpredictable plot.
I really loved spending more time with Clark and Amethyst; they are a great couple with a lot of pluck. We hear a lot more from Amethyst in this book. Over the course of the book she develops into a very daring and capable women, who is fierce yet still tender. We also spend more time getting to know the Treasure family and I really enjoyed that; they are an intriguing and resourceful family.
We get to spend a bit more time in that grey in-between world of death. Amethyst does not shy away from power over death like Clark does. Also the powers that Erik’s serum give over death are explored more and expanded...this was really interesting. I would love to see this explored more in future books.
The whole world has a very wild west feel to it, but there is also some interesting technology sprinkled throughout. There are a lot of interesting devices that were incredibly cool. I also really enjoyed all the shootouts and awesome action scenes.
The story is very engaging and easy to read; the dialogue is snappy and flows well. The story is tied up well, but I would love to see more about these characters in future book. I will be sad if this is the last book in the series and we don’t get to read any more about this world and characters!
Overall an absolutely wonderful western steampunk story. This book has it all; an excellent world, engaging characters, magic, action, and a twisty plot. I really loved it. I sincerely hope there are more books added to this series and that this isn’t the last one. I would recommend to those who like having some western feel to their action packed steampunk reads.

After reading the first book in this series, I had high expectations of what was to come. Fun characters, tons of action and steam-gear fantasy which leaves one dreaming for days--yep, this is what I hoped for, and I wasn't disappointed.
Clark and Amethyst are a couple to fall in love with. They have a wonderful bond which is, of course, romantic (a little), but mostly fun. Their personalities are like grease and water, so different and not seeming to co-exist. But they do. Marvelously. And it's exactly this opposition of poles which makes them entertaining to follow as they head off into adventure.
And they definitely have adventures.
Clark is still being ruthlessly pursued by the army. . .and the Senator. . .and others too. This time, they back him into a pretty good corner. The chase is thrilling and each time it looks like Clark finds a way out, a new predicament has him in even more trouble than before. I especially appreciated that not all of the heroes plans were flawless, and some lead them to more trouble than before. These mishaps had me cheering for the heroes more than before.
This isn't a deep, emotional story but rather an exciting ride. Still, the characters aren't flat as paper. We see Clark still struggling with his past, and more of him trying to come to terms with who he might be (although not always in the way one might expect). Amethyst is ever true to her lovely, spoiled princess self, but never ceases to surprise with actions which point to more than superficial goals. Although at times frustrating, Amethyst is a true delight.
As to the believability--well, this is steampunk. So fantasy is required, but in general, the logic works well. I never found myself wondering about holes or sudden jumps, and felt fairly planted in the world. The gadgets are fun. Some far fetched, but it all remained in the same sphere and played along with the story nicely, especially when the action is going full swing.
Summed up, this is a fun story. The action is non-stop, the characters are simply enjoyable, and the plot keeps the reader on their toes. I can definitely recommend this to any Steampunk fan and wish them a thrilling ride.

Garth Treasure has claimed Clark as his bastard son in order to protect him, but Clark knows who his real father is. Ever since he stole a vial of what he thought was absinthe from an Army officer and drank it, he’s been able to see the dead. Not just see though, he can bring the recently deceased back. Clark hates this ability, but even worse, the Army is after him for the abilities he stole. His true father has appeared to him and beseeched Clark to seek out his inventions that Senator Horan has been using for his own ill-gotten gain and destroy them. Clark and Amethyst are doing just that, but the Senator’s reach is long and now the whole family is in danger because of him. Is there a way out from under a corrupt politician? Or are they all doomed?
Fast-paced and nail biting I couldn’t read this steampunk suspense quickly enough to satisfy and soothe my nerves. And I’m a pretty fast reader! I don’t now how many times I said, “Omg, someone just kill that guy (the Senator, his brother and/or Greenwood at various points in the book) already!” I hated them. They are wonderful villainous asshats. On the other hand, there’s Clark, the other Treasures and Amethyst. I loved Clark in book 1 and I still love him even though he’s sometimes really quick to use his gun to solve his problems. Wowzers. But it’s war. Not actual war, but a personal war of the Army and a corrupt asshole against Clark and the Treasures. The two people who I didn’t really like in book 1, Jeremiah and Amethyst, really grow in this book. They still have a few “we’re rich and therefore entitled” moments, but they’ve pulled their heads almost completely out of their asses and for the most part they are people I’d love to have as friends. This story has a satisfactory conclusion, but I wouldn’t say no to more books in this world.

Now here we go: (my review will be shorter this time because of life, but I promise, I’ll tell you what you need to know)
I really enjoyed her visuals, the way I could smell, hear, taste, feel everything. As I say in all my reviews of hers: she’s got that down.
This story was book 2 of the Treasure series, and it flowed seamlessly from one to the other. There was just enough recap throughout the book that I never felt lost, but didn’t feel like I was getting a recap at the beginning of a TV show: last week on… So, that was wonderful, and really well done.
I think that there were a few parts that were a little drawn out, unnecessary even. It felt like a few scenes may have been added to make the book longer, or maybe that’s just how I read it.
Another thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was that she seemed to draw from herself. I feel like there were a few scenes from this book that I’d read in Coglings, only with different characters and slightly different results. I know that’s bound to happen, and maybe I only noticed it because I read them so close together, but I’m reviewing this so I’m telling it like I see it.
That all being said, I still enjoyed the hell out of this book. The characters are so alive I feel like I know them. I certainly know what they’d do in certain situations, and that’s always great.
In the end (as I said, short review, and I’m terribly sorry about that, but I wanted to write a longer one, it’s just taken me so long to write this one as it is), I would definitely suggest this book, this series, and this author to anyone who wants a good read and especially anyone who loves steampunk. This series must be read in order. The first book is Treasure, Darkly. This short story is set between book one and two but can be read any time after book one. The second book is Born Of Treasure. I can't wait to read Runners And Riders!
Clark is on the run from the military due to his ingestion of something he thought was Absinthe. Turns out it was a super secret serum, that, when combined with Heretum, allowed its imbiber to see ghosts and bring the newly dead back to life while allowing the user to become seemingly immortal. Not that he is going to deliberately test that theory too far. Living free is his only true goal. Taking odd jobs is how he survives. Will this Doctor be as mad as the Bromi slave says? Has he taken too big of a risk by taking on this job? What has he gotten himself into this time?
***This series is suitable for mature young adult through adult readers who enjoy a little sci-fi in their paranormal western steampunk fantasy action adventure suspense thrillers with a dash of romance and a smidge or two of horror :)

This was an interesting read about a steampunk world where the government has run amuck and the Treasure family who are good people have been targeted and are running for their lives during part of the story. Clark and Amethyst are so cute together and I loved watching their relationship grow. There were so many twists and turns in this book and the ending was sweet. I don't think it is finished though. Some things were resolved, but others were up in the air so I hope to be able to find out what happens next. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes action, excitement, twists and turns and all the fun that come from the steampunk genre.

Clark and Amethyst is still trying to retrieve Eric's inventions when they are summoned back for a party unbeknownst to them and their family that it is a sit-up by the Army. When Amethyst finds herself in Senator Heron's home she finds the same stuff that Clark took and decides to take it herself so Eric can help her find Clark. So you know Eric is a ghost. You will find yourself in one adventure after another wondering what is going to happen next.

What a fantastic, adventure filled follow on from Treasure Darkly. I thoroughly enjoyed being taken along on the journey with these great characters. They are all richly developed and unique from each other bringing real colour to this story. Amethyst I simply adore. What a strong, brave and unstoppable woman she has grown to be since we first met her. I highly recommend the Treasure series for a great adventurous read.

Fusing necromancy and steampunk devices with a classic Western tale of honest ranchers facing corrupt officials, Elizabeth provides a fantasy Western that has much to attract fans of either genre.
Fleeing from the military after mistakenly consuming a chemical that grants the power to raise the dead, Clark Griffin is pretending to be the son of Grant Treasure; an imposture that requires he conceal his marriage to Amethyst Treasure, his supposed sister. Unfortunately, with a cabal of power-hungry men attempting to gather his real father’s inventions to bolster their power, he must choose between protecting himself by hiding and risking capture by doing the decent thing; a choice that, with the army continuing to search for him, might be taken for him.
As Elizabeth states in her author’s note, this novel and the first volume of the series were originally written as a single large book that she later chose to split in two for publication. Thus, while the severing occurred at a natural break point, it has more of a sense and style of continuing a single story than many serial volumes; whether this adds or detracts will depend on each reader’s individual feelings about the primary arcs of the first volume and their preferred balance between reprise and onward progress.
One way in which this sense of a single book split into two is especially obvious is in elevating apparently underused areas of the premise. For example, where mention of Clark’s powers in the first volume raised abilities that did not then feature, this volume returns to those abilities in greater detail. Thus readers who felt certain things were missed are likely to find this volume fills many—if not all—of the gaps.
While this is a continuation, it is not simply an extension. Aided—and pestered—by his father’s ghost, Clark is no longer simply running from the army but has gained the potential goal of gathering his father’s inventions. Similarly, Elizabeth’s addition of a second person who has consumed the potion provides a contrast to Clark’s near rejection of his powers.
Elizabeth plausibly expands the fantasy steam-western world of the first volume, ironically capturing how closely blended with civilisation the Old West actually was better than many straight Westerns.
As might be expected of a novel that is so intimately linked with its predecessor, this one leaves many of the wider plot threads unresolved, giving a very clear sense of being part of a series. However, it conversely provides a more nuanced resolution to those threads it does conclude than the segment arcs of an average serial volume. Thus readers are likely to end this book feeling satisfied rather than abandoned.
Clark continues to be a sympathetic protagonist, both strengthened and impeded by both his common origins and his caution. Amethyst is similarly sympathetic whilst providing a mirror of Clark: utterly at home with riches and immensely confident. These contrasting, equally imperfect, responses to challenges provide a pleasing dynamism to both their romance and the plots as a whole
The returning secondary characters are expanded plausibly, adding complexity without sacrificing realism or accessiblity. In some cases, this suggests that the reader’s judgement of them from the first book might not be utterly justified, mirroring Clark’s growing understanding that things are not as clear cut as he thought they were.
Overall, I enjoyed this novel. I recommend it to readers seeking steampunk that is focused on character rather than engineering or extravagance.

Born of Treasure is the continuing adventures of Clark and Amethyst Treasure and follows the events of Treasure, Darkly. In this installment, the two continue to hunt down Clark's father's inventions before they can get into the hands of Senator Horan. In addition, the army is still after Clark, with a particularly diabolical Captain Greenwood at the helm who will stop at nothing to get Clark, even going so far at to go after the Treasures. Clark and Amethyst get separated. I appreciated that the author didn't just focus the story on Amethyst and Clark. Readers got to know other members of the Treasure family as well and understand the impact Clark's presence in their lives has had on the family as a whole. Amethyst seems to not have matured much from the first book, which was what turned me off a bit from it. Even after having gone through a major transformation in this book, she was still the same spoiled, egotistical girl from the first book. I was hoping to learn more about Clark's father's inventions, which was what really offered the steampunk elements in the first book. Unfortunately, that was a bit lacking. Instead, we got to see the seedy underbelly of the army and military experimentation. Unfortunately, this one wasn't as good as the first.

This second instalment in the Treasure Chronicles is a fabulous book, full of action, adventure, drama, suspense, and a twist of romance too. I'm not going to go into the storyline as you can get an outline of it above and I don't want to give spoilers, but I'll just say that you really get drawn into the drama of the family's attempts to be free, and really root for them, and I didn't want to put the book down - I kept saying 'just one more chapter' until I'd finished the book... at 2am! So don't start reading late at night, or you might be up til the early hours too. I also loved the short story at the end (from when Clark was on the run, before he met his family), and it was a lovely bonus to receive.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loved the first story, who enjoys action and thrillers, and steampunk. You do need to have read the first story for it to all make sense, but that's no hardship - they're both great reads! - and I hope that there'll be more to come from the world of the Treasures and Grishams in the future.

However, Clark has seriously doubted the Army's desperation to get him and when they finally discover he was hiding out at the Treasure farm they start forming their plan of attack to finally have him. How will Clark get out from the the Army's control? Will he have to sacrifice his freedom for the Treasure's safety?
This book is an enjoyable read, however I feel it was less adventurous as the first one and left a lot to be desired. I was also left a bit confused because I don't understand what the last chapter was suppose to be about. If it was suppose to be a jump in time, the author did not put whether it's suppose to be further down the line. It had to relevance to what happened in the previous chapters.

This is book two of the series, but it works just fine as a standalone. All the essential bits are explained early on.

The story is well written and generally easy to read, although the plot is fast paced and complex, requiring the occasional stop to catch your breath (or eat, sleep, work, etc). I found the story to be highly engaging, getting my attention right off the bat and not letting go. I really enjoyed the setting and combination of elements and look forward to going back to start from the beginning.

Let me start off by saying that I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. That being said, this story definitely had it's twists and turns. I really liked Amethyst a lot better in this story as compared to the first. She has been through adventures and trials and has come out better for it. There is also the underlying theme of knowing who to trust (sometimes it's better to trust your own instincts). There are several old characters as well as new. Let me start off by saying that I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. That being said, this story definitely had it's twists and turns. I really liked Amethyst a lot better in this story as compared to the first. She has been through adventures and trials and has come out better for it. There is also the underlying theme of knowing who to trust (sometimes it's better to trust your own instincts). There are several old characters as well as new. You even get to meet the mysterious uncle from the city. I did thoroughly enjoy this, even though I'm still not a real steampunk girl.

Another great addition to the series! This book had way more action than the last and it was very entertaining from beginning to end. Amethyst has grown so much in this book and it was a nice change for her. Clark is swoon worthy as usual and the other members of the Treasure family came along for the adventure this time around. Amethyst and Clark both have the same abilities though Amethyst has embraced hers more. There was a happy ending and I can't wait to read the next book to see what has become of everyone!

OMG, what another amazing adventure!!
The characters were phenomenal! Getting to read and getting to know more about Amethyst and Clark made this story so enjoyable and entertaining!
The storyline was absolutely incredible. I loved this adventure so much. There were so many twists and turns that I just couldn't put this book down. And of course I am always a sucker for a HEA too! Highly recommend this read!

I can't say enough about this series! I absolutely love it. This book, Born of Treasure was every bit as awesome as the first book and I am waiting anxiously for more from this talented author. Steampunk and the old west come together to offer a wonderful story that kept me glued to my kindle until I finished. Dear Author, Please write faster!

This story keeps getting more intriguing.
Watching Amethyst grow into a more quality character has been wonderful. It's always refreshing to see a person learn to look beyond selfishness and find compassion for others. Excited to see what develops from here. All that has been reveled has much potential for good and bad.
