This is one crazy ride! It's twisted and dark. I REALLY enjoyed this one! I hate to admit it, but I LOVED Noah!

description

Well, isn’t that just some of the most messed up stuff I've read in a while?!!?!? I freely admit I love dark, but honestly this one really pushed my comfort level a little bit. It's perverted, a bit brutal, and full of depraved deliciousness. This is what happens when the hunter becomes the hunted and the trainer becomes the student. I was stunned by some of the events that I found myself physically cringing and gasping out loud. I even had to squeeze my eyes shut a few times to make the picture in my head go away. Just thinking back on it sends chills down my spine.

This isn't dark erotica, but it certainly is dark. Believe it or not, it’s actually a love story of sorts. Crazy… I know. It’s one of those stories that leads you down a path, you think you know where it’s going, but you really have no clue. This was so hard to put down! I definitely had a case of “just-one-more-chapter going” on with this one.

Just so my ramblings from here on in make sense, I’ll give you brief rundown of the story. Not to worry, I’ll only give you the need-to-know things. Half the fun of this story is the craziness that jumps out at you from nowhere. Noah kidnaps women, breaks them, and sells them to the highest bidder. He’s upfront about it and doesn’t apologize for it either. So it’s no big mystery what Noah does for a living. No, the big mystery here is Angeline. So how does Angeline fit into this big puzzle? Well while filling his latest “order” for a girl named Chasity White, Noah ends up being kidnapped himself. How did the hunter not know he was being hunted? The story focuses on Noah’s abduction and what the woman named Angeline has planned for him.

“This is fucked up. This is really fucked up, but that’s what makes it so good. It is terrifying. I don’t know if she’s doing it on purpose or if she’s so fucking crazy she can’t help it.”

Whoa. What a ride this book took me on!!!! My biggest question... Who is this Angeline??? She seems very good at what she does and very much enjoys it. She unleashes some brutal punishment. I couldn’t figure out her reason for taking Noah. He's definitely not the typical target. I was guessing it was personal, but I really had no clue. She is literally insane so there was really no sense in trying to guess what would happen. She talks in riddles and in circles. And, it's difficult to decipher the clues she divulges to Noah. The dual POV gave me a look inside her head, but that proved to be of no help whatsoever since trying to rationalize crazy just doesn’t work.

“Sometimes simple actions say more than complexity. That is what I hope. I hope he will come to understand. Not now, no, but in time.”

The writing is wonderful. Angeline’s POV was written by Cerys and Noah’s by Ethan with both collaborating on Chastity’s. For this being Ethan’s release debut, I’m blown away by the depth and flow of his writing. I like the idea of each character’s POV being written by one of the authors. Even though the POVs are written separately, the story and writing still flow. I have to commend Cerys. Angeline is a well written psychotic bitch. She comes across as crazy, but vulnerable… almost naïve in a sense. But, Noah’s POV proves to be my favorite. I think it’s because Noah really is such an asshole, but the way he’s written with his attitude and demeanor it makes him deliciously attractive and enticing.

I really did enjoy this one. But, I had a few issues with a bit of redundancy and how Chastity White’s character is portrayed.

While dual POV and multiple POV are my preference, I found myself rereading things I already knew because with the POV change came the rehashing of the scene I just read. It’s a slippery slope to navigate when showing the alternate POV while not rehashing almost all of the previous scene. I will say this was only an issue at the beginning of the book. However, the beginning is where the author needs to capture my attention. I will be honest, there was enough of the rehashing that had it not stopped when it did I was seriously thinking about not going any further. To think that was going to be the norm for the entire book……. yah, I wasn’t putting myself through that. So, if you experience the redundancy like I did PLEASE, PLEAESE, PLEASE don’t give up and push on. You really don’t want to miss out on this crazy and wild ride.

My thoughts on Chastity… I realize her naïveté and innocence are the point to her being taken by Noah (and adds to her purpose for the remainder of the story), but the way she is portrayed was a bit hard to swallow. Chastity came across as unintelligent as opposed to naïve. While I feel Chasity’s character is critical to the plot, her portrayal really spoiled her effect on the story. Unfortunately, I don’t think I experienced her in the way the authors had intended. It feels as though almost too much effort was put into making Chastity’s character naïve which made her purpose feel forced and awkward.

My not-so-much-love for Chastity aside, Master Over You was really a twisted and highly enjoyable ride. I would certainly read more from these authors, especially Ethan. I’m really impressed with his debut offering, and he writes a fabulous male POV. I can’t wait to see what’s next…

(On a side note… the authors did include tons of bonus/extended scene material. In full disclosure, I did not read the extra content. I opted not to read it for the sheer fact that it was NOT part of the main story.)

5 Crazy Stars..

This book was given to me for my honest review.

Get out your screaming towels everyone you will need them. If you’re scared of the dark you may want to turn your head around before indulging in this one of a kind read. No worries though I promise you that the monsters will not get you they just might nibble a bit.

Noah-hot and hotter, different from most and a loner and savior

Angeline-confused, sexy, adamant

Chasity-pure and wholesome

Noah is the master at kidnapping then breaking down the women he seeks for a contract that he has to for fill. Does this mean that he does not care about the women he breaks? Does this man not feel? Can this man get over the one thing that happened in his past to make him the man he has become? Can he get over all the obstacles from his past and be the one man that he knows within himself that is dying to get out?

Angeline is the woman that has been hurt more times than one can count. She has a dark side to her but yet a caring side as well. This baffled me but in the end I could see the reasoning behind it all. The answers that you seek when reading this book will be defined. They may be heart wrenching at times but it will be worth the read in the end.

Chasity her story in this book is just a byproduct in being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Though Noah was contracted to kidnap her and break her down for one man he shows regret at times this I found to be admirable yet sorrowful at the same time.

To the authors this was one amazing, compelling book and yes a dark book that had me confused from the first page but then it all clicked in the right places.

The sex in this journey is really tame and not much of it but the storyline once you get into the book is worth the read by far.

The questions of why Noah does what he does will be answered along with every question going through your head at the time you read the words that are written. Does this book have a happy yet compelling ending? Does Angeline find the love that she has been seeking or does she continue on this whirlwind of pain that she inflicts? And, why does she do all this to Noah? Read the book and you will find the answers to these questions and more.

Happy Reading

Ok well this book freaked me out.. We have Noah who kidnaps women and breaks them down to so that he can sell them. Then then way he does is so awful but then I think what were the women thinking that he kidnapped them and then fell in love with them. So then he gets a request to find a woman who name is Chastity White and she has to be young, around a certain weight etc. So he finds a Chastity and kidnaps her on her birthday at a local club. He takes her back to his place, chains her up and tells her he is going is going to screw her. She thinks because he kinda nice that he is not going to hurt her. Then Noah is kidnapped himself. Angeline is the crazy one who kidnapped him. The stuff she does to him, I felt mad for him then I remember that he kidnaps women, so maybe he is getting what he deserves. but Omg Angelina is one insane person. I don't want to give away what happens but if you like dark reads then this is the book for you. I was not expecting the end. I was so clueless. Great job on the story Cerys du Lys and Ethan Winters. I was struck speechless when I read the end of the story.

Disturbing, intense but mind blowing. Master over you is this and much more. I was warned before I read it that it is rather graphic and at first I thought it was an exaggeration, but after reading it I realised that this definitely needs a warning sign. There’s a lot of bad language so it’s definitely not for children.

Noah is a slave trafficker. He knows he's a monster but in his own mind there are worse monsters out there and its better him than them. He knows he does wrong but he still does it.

When he abducts Chastity White, I was imagining some sort of romance between the two that she'd end up being the girl that changes his way, and so on. But when Angeline turns up and kidnaps them both, now that was unexpected.

Angeline. My God, she is psychotic and crazy and obsessive, and so much more. One minute she's ripping off Noah's fingernails with some ancient mechanical device to punish him, and the next minute she's cuddling him and licking his blood off his wounds. She has a weird blood fetish and her sadistic nature was so creepy but utterly believable. This is probably because the story is told through all three characters' points of view and when Angeline's broken thoughts come across, it gave me the chills.

But there's more to Angeline than meets the eye and that back-story was epic. This book was written awesomely and I can imagine great things to come from these authors.

Favourite Quotes:

I am not responsible for anyone else’s actions. They must deal with their own consequences.

“Noah, you are incorrigible and rude.”
“You fucking kidnapped me. You bit me. You slammed my head against a fucking wall. What the fuck do you want from me, love?”

“We need to have a talk, Noah,” she says.
“What the fuck are we going to talk about, love?” I reply. Shit. That’s two things she hates in one sentence. She’s going to fucking drown me with orange juice now.

What I’m saying here is you can have a nice time with someone and it might turn out well in the end, but it’s not fucking magical. Love is bullshit.

Trying is not doing, and doing is the only thing that matters in this sick fucking twisted rendition of the world.

I fell in love with a monster and she ate my fucking soul. I let her, though.

Shit changes, and then you do things because of the changes, and more shit happens, and then you forget how the fuck you used to be in the first place.

I don’t believe in prayer and hope, though. I believe in getting shit done. If I can save someone, I’ll fucking save them.
If I can’t, I’m sorry.

Quite the different type of love story, but I could NOT put it down!

First of all, let me say that, true to its title, this book is dark. It contains depressing, violent, painful things that I never ever ever EVER never ever want to even THINK about considering what it might be like to actually possibly feel them.

The story is told via multiple points-of-view, with Cerys writing the voices of Angeline and Chastity, and Ethan writing Noah's. The idea is brilliant because, as you can imagine, the tones are completely different among the characters, which makes them all the more believable.

Noah's favorite word is the f-word, and he uses it constantly. Normally it would be awkward and unnecessary to keep reading the same word over and over, beating the proverbial dead horse, but Ethan wrote so many of his f-words with seemingly different inflections. I could almost hear them being spoken in my head, and I found myself laughing out loud at a lot of Noah's thoughts.

While I was unsure of the book at first, I began to love it around the halfway mark. At that point, it tells the back-story of Angeline and Noah. Their stories had me really FEELING for them because they lend more understanding to the story as a whole, and why the characters behaved as they did.

The story comes to a nice end, but then I was treated to additional "extended scenes." While I, personally, would like to have read the Angeline-and-Noah scenes in the story itself, I loved reading them and was nearly in tears reading of the struggles Angeline and Noah faced.

All in all, I loved the love story, got a few laughs in spite of the morbidity, and if these two amazing authors just happened to collaborate on another book in the series (wink), I would DEFINITELY read it!

This was a unique story, but it took me a while to get "into" it.
After reading it, and digesting it for a week I've realized this is a freaking fantastic book that stayed with me...
This is just a CRAZY book, told in 3 different Points of View -which all flavor the story differently.

I'd like to issue a warning: this is NOT dark Erotica - it is just Dark period. There is a touch of dub-con, lots of brutal violence (I mean that honestly - my stomach was really affected by a few scenes), themes of kidnapping, rape, etc. Please, take this warning seriously!!!

Now, most "dark" romance involves a female victim...which, this story fits the bill. Until it doesn't.
Noah is a "shephard" of woman, he kidnaps them, trains them, and then sells them. He's NOT nice, he isn't sweet, and he DOESN'T love. period. He has a job, he does it, and he does it well.
While he's starting to embark on his newest trainee, Chastity White, something odd happens...

“You either have a monster in your closet, or you are the monster in someone's closet. There is nothing else. That's the only rule in this fucked up game of life.”

I LOVED the writing, I LOVED the POV changes (they were so fascinating), I LOVED the way this story was told (you'll know what I'm talking about, once you read it), I LOVED the characters! I will definitely read more by these 2 authors.

I’ll start by stating that this book is not for everyone, you have to be open minded as it is very dark, has violence and is not your typical romance story.

Noah is unlike any character of I’ve read, he gets hired to abduct and train women, in this case Chastity. Everything goes as planned but as he starts to put his plan into motion, he himself gets abducted by Angeline.

The things she puts him through, just blow my mind. She has a motive but we don’t find out until later in the story. I wanted to hate her but once things come to light, I sympathized with her. Noah, I also wanted to hate him because of what he did, he plainly tells us, he abducts women, forces himself on them, causes them, but also forces them to love him. They both just want to feel and more importantly to be loved.

We read the book through each of their point of views, we get inside their heads and most of it ain’t pretty. We find out why Noah does what he does and why Angeline is one crazy tortured person. You have all these questions going on in your head and let me tell you when you find out the ‘whys’ hopefully you will feel like I did, and cheer them on.

I debated over how to review this book. Plain and simple, it's a crazy roller coaster of a read that I found hard to put down. Noah is an entity on his own. Ange and Chastity were perfect foils for his character. There's not much else that I can say w/o spoiling it, but OMG. It's a crazy cool ride that I enjoyed.

Everythin makes sense to him,& he even offers that she can have the rest of his fingernails. They leave the bedroom together& go to the other room& she straps him in. she tells him he doesn’t have to but he wants to. She takes the remaining off& comforts him, tellin him she loves him. She feels pain& wonders if its from all the emotion she has for N. But then realizes she was stabbed by Chasity& she collapses to the floor. C has noticed that hidden the house A leave weapons. She snuck into the room& watch as A takes N fingernails off& stabs her. She unlocks N, tellin him he's free& that A wont hurt her no more. N is furious that C stabbed her. He straps her& tells her to shut up. He goes to A, beggin w/ her not to die& goes to her men to help her. One of them is a doctor& tends to A. He has a nightmare belivin that A is dead but when he's awake she's w/ him all bandaged up& kisses her, tellin her he loves her. She also has a nightmare that she kills him& apologizes to N for havin those thoughts. They make love once they get their condoms.
A tells N that he'll stay here &keep him safe. Also mentioning that C doesnt like her much. N explains that of course she isnt b/c they kidnapped her, but tells her that she can be a present to her, like a pet. They both go to C& check on her. N tells her to calm down, that she has everythin confused. He explains some bit of their history& shows that A doesnt have her pinky fingernail& he doesn’t have his. For some reason C wants to be like them, to show them that she can be strong like them. She tells A that she's sorry for hurtin her& that she can take one of her nails. A agrees. She straps C& comforts her& takes the nail off. N notices that A is takin this pet thing w/ C really seriously b/c A is takin C a bath. A makes Noah join them in the tub& offers C to Noah for Chasity's good behavior. Aftr she cums, A dismisses her to sleep. Angeline explains to Noah that he's only allowed to have C when she allows it. Noah doesn’t mind, all he wants is Angeline. They fuck& they all go to sleep in bed.
Days ltr Noah has to give Chasity to the buyer. They all make a plan& Angeline pretend to be Chasity. Noah collects the money, hands over 'Chasity' & leaves. The buyer take 'C' into a room& is about to fuck her, but 'C' kills him before he can do anythin. She licks the blood& N enters, tellin her it's time to leave. N see's all the blood on her& tells her she needs to clean up. Chasity comes out of the car& gives a water jug to Angeline to clean up. They then all leave together back to their home…
Ends w/ cliffhanger bout some person tryin to hunt Angeline & Noah…

What... but... it.... ummm... uh... what the hell did I just read???

OMG this was crazy, and I LOVED it!!! Loved... really guys... I don't even know where to start, Im not sure how to give this a fair review without spoilers, Im having a hard time trying to put into words how I feel and what I think... mind f**k... total mind f**k. That is what this was. I didn't see any of it coming.

Ok, Iam a dark reads lover... anyone that follows me knows this. And I love anything twisted and I love all things that come out of the blue. And this entire book kept me on my toes wondering what in the world was going on. And when the last page was flipped, I just sat there... dumfounded trying to pick my jaw off the floor. This was one of the best collaborations I have ever read, and Iam adding this to my top 2014 reads. Im doing the hope dance, crossing my fingers, and saying prayers that there is a follow up book. Can I bribe someone to give me more?? The epilogue set up beautifully for a followup and I may have to turn stalker to make sure it happens.

Noah... wow... Loved him. He was vulgar, and rude, and just did not care what anyone thought. He was brutally honest, he knew the things he did were wrong on so many levels, and yet he made no apologies for who he was and what he did. He came across heartless and money hungry. And I LOVED him... he is going on my favorite men list... I don't even care a little bit that he is a kidnapper that breaks women down and then sells them to vile men as sex slaves... he can kidnap me any day as long as I get to listen to his dirty mouth...

Angeline.. what a psycho. There is no other word for her. She is whacked. Im positive she is not firing on all cylinders and I wasn't sure how I felt about her until about 50% of the way through the book. But she was so crazy I couldnt help but be intrigued and the need to know the driving force behind why she was the way she was made me stay up late and get little sleep as I was desperately trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together. And let me tell you... I lost my jaw to the floor when it all began to come out... my heart actually ached for her and I found myself excusing her psychotic tendencies and finding really good reasons for the things she did. She was a bad-ass heroine and she made no excuses for who she was. She was emotionally turned off.. I swear her heart was black and didn't actually have a beat... some of the things she did will turn your stomach.

Chastity .. at first I was thinking she was a thrown in character. I couldn't figure out why she was even there. I will tell you that the reason she is a player in this, is because Noah kidnaps her for a client. She seemed like an odd little part to the story. Then I thought I had it figured out how she fit the puzzle. Then I found myself shocked at how she ended up fitting. Then the ending came and I was like wth?? Where did that come from?? Because I NEVER saw that coming.

This is where I will warn you. If you have trouble with torture, mind games, rape, kidnapping and general mind f**ckery, this book is not for you. There are some scenes that had I been in a movie theater, I would of been peeking behind my fingers, cringing at what I was watching. Some of the stuff is just plain out there, it's brutal and it is down right sick at times. I have to wonder a little bit about the sanity of the authors, and then I decided... screw it, because sane or not, they produced a brilliant book. It is going to be a hard act to follow, but as I said, Iam not beyond stalking to see it happen.

~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review Team~

It took me awhile to get into this book, but I found that to be the case with previous books by Cerys du Lys so I figured once it finally got going I would enjoy it. This book is dark, not erotic dark, just dark. I personally didn’t think it was very dark, but maybe I just have a tougher stomach than others? Sure there were disturbing scenes and things happening but I expect that when I read a dark book. I thought the book was going to take one path and it totally ended up taking another, and I enjoyed that path a lot! This book is intense at times and then at other times I was actually bored and just wanted things to move faster! I will say at the end of the book I was happy I stuck with it and enjoyed the story and the different points of view.

Characters: The characters were well written

Sex: yes

Religious: no

Would I recommend to others: yes

More than one book in the series: not sure

Genre: Dark

Would I read more by this author: yes

This is a dark romance though sometimes it may not feel like a romance but as you dig into this complex story you will find an amazing romance that breaks through the darkness. Noah kidnaps women and breaks them to sell to the men that contract with him. He doesn’t apologize for what and who he is, this is just him until well, someone kidnaps him. Angeline seems just as dark as Noah as she works to break him but is that really what she wants. "He doesn't remember" and you know there is a lot more to this story than you initially perceived. I was truly surprised at this twist and it gave Noah and Angeline so much more depth to their characters – yes, you start out not wanting to like either of them but then their real story unfolds and you want them to find peace and love.

Uh what

This book had way too much rambling. It just went on and on. I thought it was off to a good start and then went totally strange. And the girl chastity was an idiot. It made no sense to me till at least half way. Noah saved Angeline 10 years ago and she kidnaps him, hurts him, takes his fingernails...Uh what.? No sense.

I didn't know if I was going to be able to finish this book. Not because of the it disturbed me but because it was strange. The characters were crazy as hell!! I thought I would be reading about BDSM but it really has nothing to do with it. It just left me going hmmmm.....

I am not a reader that shies away from dark or intense books and if you are one of those readers (there is nothing wrong with that) I would not pick this book up. I wouldn’t even think about it. This book is dark, intense, and emotional. Even with all of those things I really enjoyed reading it. It was something different and original. Don’t get me wrong it is a love story. There are many many moments that are hard to read. But if you don’t mind getting through those parts this is definitely a book worth picking up.

This book starts out with Chastity White. She is naïve, innocent, and has no idea what is hunting her. We don’t really get to know her that much. She is the first victim in this story. Noah has been paid to take her. Train her. She has only been in his hands for about a day before everything changes and she finds herself with an even bigger monster.

Chastity’s character was a little unnecessary for me. It did show us everything Noah was talking about. It only took one day for her to fall in love with him. She was just really unintelligent. I don’t think that she was supposed to come of as that as much as she did. She was definitely naïve. Her few chapters were a little hard for me to read. She really bothered me.

Then we have Noah. He kidnaps and trains women to be sold as sex slaves. He has his eye on a very specific girl because of a very specific request. After he takes her he has a day before his whole life changes. He is taken by a woman. He wakes up to find himself chained to a wall. He is now the one begin abused and learning to follow the rules. The only problem is this woman seems to want something else from him. Noah just doesn’t know what yet.

Noah is the hunter, the trainer, the predator. His world changes when he becomes the prey, the student, and the hunted. Noah was rude and rude with most of his chapters. There were a lot of eff bombs dropped. Some more unnecessary than the other but Ethan really made Noah jump off the page. The writing was fluid and you can see all of the different sides to Noah. Even though he has rationalized his job in his head you can see he has some remorse. There are some lines he won’t cross. There is a history and a reason he does what he does and Ethan manages to give Noah a depth I wasn’t expecting.

Angeline has been stalking Noah for a long time. When she takes him she has her reasons. She is dead inside but he makes her feel. Even for a few seconds and that mean everything. Angeline is trying to make him remember. She needs him to remember without her telling him because he might not forgive her. There is more to Angeline then anyone ever knew.

Angeline was a complex character. She didn’t have a normal upbringing. It was as horrible and dark as she is now. She doesn’t know how to process emotions. She doesn’t really know how to be normal. Cerys did an amazing job writing this character. There was so much she had to express through her writing. Angeline is a psychotic bitch but there is a craziness that you need to realize when you read this book. Even getting a look into her head doesn’t give you any answers. You can’t rationalize crazy. She talks in riddles and circles but you come to realize she is vulnerable and is a way naïve.

Angeline and Noah were written by two different authors but the flow worked. It didn’t read as two different books. Their writing styles complimented each other and created a story that was original and interesting. With the dual POVs there was a lot of redundancy at the beginning of the chapters. But if you can get through those little parts the rest is totally worth it.

Even with my problems with some of this book, Master Over You, was a twisted and enjoyable ride. There was more to this story than you get in the beginning. The characters are complex and the story will keep you turning pages and promising just one more chapter. The book shows you that everyone can survive and fall in love. Life is hard, dark, and twisted sometimes but if you can keep surviving you might find something that is worth it.

I have to say that this book is quite difficult for me to review. On one hand it was written very well and in a captivating and intriguing way. On the other hand the story was a bit too brutal at times for my tastes. I simply had to leave the book every once in a while and distract myself with something else. I feel obliged to mention that I do enjoy dark romance but this story is the most twisted one I've ever read. I can probably only compare it to Fragile Truths by D.H. Sidebottom and R.M. James. The main difference though, is that this is not a dark erotica story. In a way it is more of a dark love story. But trust me, it is not what you expect.

The characters are quite interesting. They are definitely intriguing and they can make you hate them or love them in the blink of an eye. Probably, only with the exception of Chastity. She was really just driving me nuts with all her childish behavior and some kind of a twisted logic probably due to her inexperience. Noah and Angeline on the other hand are her exact opposites. They are dominant and strong with really dark pasts and probably even darker demons. And quite a twisted way to interact with each other. At least until there are no secrets between them. I have to say that I was really wondering about the reasoning behind Angeline's actions, her conflicting emotions and Noah's reaction to everything happening to him. I had probably a 100 different scenarios in my head but I definitely didn't expect the revelations in the end of the story. It was really heartbreaking and it explained a lot about both their characters and chosen "profession".

The extended scenes included in the book are incredibly heartbreaking and difficult to read but in a different way than the main story. They are not necessary for understanding the main story but they help us see Noah and Angeline in a completely different light. The scenes show in depth the reasoning behind their choices, the hell of their past and what made them the people they are. For me, the extended content helped me to understand Noah and Angeline, to look at the book from a completely different point of view.

In a few words, the story is intriguing and captivating but it is definitely not for everyone. I would recommend it only if you enjoy dark stories and even then you should be prepared. It is difficult to read but it will definitely make you think and probably give you a new perspective on some things, once you finish the book. It has quite a few unexpected twists and the revelations done in the end will leave your head spinning. And if you start reading, then don't skip the extended scenes ;)

Whoa. Shut the front door. This is the most brilliant fucking story I ever read. 5+ stars!

Sorry but this story makes me want to drop the F-Bomb A LOT. Plus I’m not sugar coating this review. It’s dark and twisty and sick but you know what I like it. The world is not all princess and rainbows. There are some sick fucks out there. Noah just happened to find one. This is a story were the Master becomes the Servant. The Hunter becomes the Hunted.

First off Cerys and Ethan. These two ridiculously good looking authors are Gods. I didn’t think reading a book with two mixed POVs would ever work but it flowed beautifully. I love how you start the book thinking you know how it’s going to end. Man Doms girl, girl falls in love with man. They live happily ever after….WRONG. Throw in Mistress Angeline. She is one crazy bitch that is for sure. Her cheese slid off her cracker years ago. Noah (ok irony is not lost to me in this name…see Ethan’s Top 10 questions) is his own tortured soul.

I fell in love with a monster and she ate my fucking soul.

Ok here is my review.

Chastity White is in college about to turn 21 when she finds herself kidnapped by Noah. Now she is her own version of fucked up crazy bitch. Suffering a serious case of Stockholm’s syndrome.

Forbidden and raw and rough, risky and intense. That’s what great sex was all about, I thought. That’s what I wanted with Noah. I wanted him to make love to me like he almost had before when we first met.

Before Noah’s torture can begin they find themselves kidnapped by Angeline. Psycho bitch number one. Noah finds himself looked in the lion’s den where he is the pray. She breaks him down and builds him back up with torture and daily mind fucks. He finds himself strangely attracted to her. He thinks he must be fucking crazy. A few French fries short of a happy meal.

But when the past catches up with them and the truth comes out will these two tortured souls kill each other or have there own psychotic happily ever after? And how will Chastity play in all of this? (Make sure you read the epilogue!!!!)

All in all this story is not for the faint at heart…HELL YEAH just how I like it. If you like a dark romance then you really REALLY need to read this one.

I am so disappointed by this book because it had SO much potential! It has a very unique, creative storyline unlike any other dark erotica I have read. Unfortunately, the book was ruined by the 2 author's chaotic, disorganized style of writing. To be more specific, the formatting of this book made the story much more confusing than it should've been. I have never read a book that had, "extended scenes" followed by an epilogue followed by, "extras"? By the way, the, "extended scenes" were not actually extended scenes. This part of the book did not expand on previous scenes or chapters but told the backstory and history of the 2 main characters. The, "extended scenes" finally gives the readers an explanation for everything previously read! It is extremely sad that the authors chose to call this crucial part of the book, "extended scenes" because it surely will result in many readers bypassing them (I was planning to skip them and only read it because I was participating in a discussion group where another reader explained how important this portion of the book is). Also, there was much more content than was necessary in this book. It can often be very enlightening and entertaining to read opposing point of use in a book but it is far from entertaining when The point of views are the same! The repetitiveness was excessive to say the least.

Now that I have finally, finally finished every section/chapter/extra in this book, I feel like I missed something! Yes, I read all of the content (and there sure was a lot of content) but I don't have a sense of closure. I do not understand exactly what happened at the very end. I can respect authors who write cliffhangers or are somewhat vague at the end of a book so we are left wanting to find out what happens in the next book but that is not the case here. In this book there are only 3 characters; 2 characters are discussed in detail but the authors never explained Chastity's character! Then, to make things even more confusing and frustrating, they throw in an unknown name at the very end of the book?!?! For me this book was super frustrating and very, very disappointing.

***Obsessed by Books arc copy given in exchange for an honest review***

"My name is Noah. I kidnap women. I hold them against their wills, I break them down, I hurt them mentally and physically."

Now before you think this is another one of those dark but hotly erotic reads and pass by this book thinking you've read this before...believe me you haven't. This is different. It is dark, it is filled with sex, violence and acts of torture but then there is more...it is a love story. A love so strong that it has survived the worst and driven them to be more.

We read as Noah plans and executes the perfect kidnap of Chastity White to order. As he starts to systematically break her down to rebuild her as a sex slave something then alters the course of this book that will blow your frickin mind!

The hunter becomes the hunted and Noah finds himself helpless and very much trapped. Angeline has a reputation in the hushed circles of the sex trade. No one plays with the Mistress and wins. Noah is a hardened Master and this is an intriguing tale as they engage in a battle of wills. Taking turns in pov from both Angeline and Noah with a little Chastity thrown in every now and again this is one mind f**k of a book that will leave you hiding behind your fingers, under the covers with your lights switched on.

I don't want to spoil the fun and reveal any of the plot so please please read this book. It will take you places you have never been before. It will challenge everything you think you know and leave you with a feeling of awwwwww.

"I fell in love with a monster and she ate my f**cking soul. I let her, though."

This is a cleverly written collaboration of two fantastic authors, that works amazingly well and I could not put it down. It is a breathtaking read. It is different, powerfully written and leaves you questioning human nature.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book is really well written,it was as if the images of what you were reading were coming out from the pages...but it's definitely NOT a book for everyone,'cause it's a very dark, violent, raw book, even if it's also a love story.
However if you are open-minded,if you want to know the blunt truth without embellishments,if you are not faint of heart and want to read a book faithful to harsh reality, well this book is for you!!!

In this story you can see how violence and abuse can damage a person's life, but you can also see how love and gestures of affection can enable a person to deal with the worst that can happen to them,to endure suffering and keep on living...you can see how you can find love or keep on loving even in the most fucked-up situation, because love is the only thing that keep us alive, that makes us stronger and allow us to keep on living even if we are damaged...love can make us do indescribable things, and we have to face the consequences of our actions, but we can survive everything if we love!

While reading this story I found myself terrified, frightened, disgusted, horrified, but also amused and hopeful.
It's true,in this book you can see how cruel some people can be(either for their own gain or for no reason at all),how their actions can destroy someone else's life, how some people doesn't have the slightest respect of human life, but you can also see how some cruel actions can make justice or help people even if in a strange way,you can see how some kind gestures and attentions can lead to fall in love with one person and love her/him "forever, for always, for eternity and more"!!!!!

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review

Wow! this is not my typical genre of reading, but it was intriguing. I believe that the content only touches the tip of the iceberg of what horrors actually exist in today's world. It is truly dark, coming deep from the bowels of hell, I'm sure. There is torture tactics from the dark ages, some raunchy sex scenes, and many deeply disturbing thoughts in this piece of work.

This work is extraordinaire. The fact that it is written by two extremely talented authors is unique. The story starts off pretty slow, and often repeats portions, only because we are reading from three POV's. It is not easy to leave once you start.

At first, you feel kind of sorry for Chastity, but then you want her to leave as you go. She gives off the air of young, studious and bright at the beginning, then leaves you wondering what planet she is actually from.

Noah begins as the hero, to the worst kind of enemy you could possibly have, back to the hero. You want to hate him, but somehow just can't. He makes you want to love him, over and over again.

Angeline. What can I say about her. At first, you hate her. You wonder what in life has made her the monster she is. Then you slowly change your opinion of her. You want to feel sorry for her, but you also want to see her happy, and hope she will be able to find peace in her lifetime. The more you learn about her, the more you understand who she is today and why she has done what she has.

In the end, you want Noah and Angeline to find the love they have both been missing, to find their happy ever after that they both deserve.

Job well done. Hats off to both of you!

This is definitely dark if your not into extreme violence step away. But if you have an open mind and a little twist this is the book for you. It grabs you from the beginning and does not let go. So make sure you have everything you will need when you open the over.

The subject matter is gripping and heartbreaking. This male, female writing duo is really what makes this story work. You can actually hear Noah and Angeline in you head, which can be frightening at times. They are two extremely traumatized, tortured souls who latch on to each other at a time when they are incredibly lost. Its a story of surviving any way you can. The secondary characters add a very telling result of what sadistic torture can do to a person.

This is a love story, but like I said its twisted. I received this copy at about 6:30pm started at about 9 and was thru by midnight, I just could not put it down. Actually felt a little vertigo when I stood up. Like when you look at something and you just can't tare your eyes away. It was a crazy ride that I do not regret going on. I feel the tingle of something special starting here with Cerys and Ethan. Please continue writing together I will most definitely continue reading.

I received my copy as an ARC... But I had the shorter version already in a box set, this version is extended and much more telling.

This book by Cerys Du Lys and Ethan Winter is definitely a dark and unconventional tale. If you do not like to read about physical pain and mental mind games move along. But if you have an open mind and are a little twisted this is the book for you. It grabs you from the beginning and does not let go until the very last page. With many shocks, revelations and twists along the way.

The subject matter is gripping and heartbreaking. The male and female writing duo is essentially what makes this story work. Each author is responsible for a pov and the male and female voice are very distinct. You can actually hear Noah and Angeline in your head, which can be disturbing at times, as once you start to agree with their views and reasoning are you as 'bad' as them?? They are two extremely traumatized, tortured souls who latch on to each other at a time when they are incredibly lost. It's a story of surviving any way you can, by any means necessary. Those measures are what make this book very controversial. The secondary characters add a very telling illustration of what torture, abuse and mind games can do to a person. The ripple out effect of actions and their consequences.

I can't reveal more without spoilers, but this truly is a book that has to be read!!

I really tried with this book but I couldn't get past the writing, it was so elementary... it was just off, and repetitive. I found myself skimming.

This is what happens when you have more than one author writing a story, something happens to one character, then it's told *again* from the POV of the other character... and it's the same.

This story could have been told with about 300 pages less than the 424 pages it turned out to be. It just rambled on and on.

I couldn't and didn't connect with a single character in this book.

After skipping to the middle of the book, then to about 3/4 of the way, this book became a..

This is a dark, dark story. It grabs a hold of you and at times it feels like you are the characters and you are experiencing these intense feelings of hopelessness as well as extreme rage. This is not for the faint of heart. It is written in the characters POV and this puts you right into Noah's and Angeline's head which is not always the best place to be. The two main characters are deeply scarred and if you can get through some of the extreme scenarios there is light at the end. Definitely you don't see this coming and I am trying to not give anything away but it does help cast the entire story into a new perspective. One that is good versus evil.
So, if you like a thriller along with some romance this story is for you. It will be a topic of conversation you will share with friends when you are done. Great writing by both of these authors. Amazing intrigue. Keeps you thinking.

Dark, dark, dark...

Wow, I had to consume this one in parts. It tackles some fairly grisly characters. The ones you love to hate?! That type for sure.

But, it does have some amazing twists you don't see coming and that is what kept me reading on. By the end, you're just in complete awe at what has happened. Like jaw-dropping awe.

I think Cerys has found her match when it comes to her writing partner-in-crime, Ethan and will be excited to see what else they decide to collaborate on.

The one thing that can make a Cerys book, make-or-break, for many readers is that she always includes a high level of internal chatter and dialogue. Personally, in her style, I love this. For others, this might not be their thing.

Can I come out from under my covers now?

Beware of entering this dark and twisted parallel world! I did not receive a copy of this book for an honest review. I bought it! This is by no means my usual genre but I couldn’t put this book down! It had me on the edge of my seat and biting my nails. YES! I chewed my nails as I turned the pages. No matter how crazy and warped the characters were I had to see what happened with them next. I could feel their sadness and their pain. This story is original, unique, and one that will have love and hate the characters all at the same time, much like they felt for each other.
I recommend this book for all those dark fantasy lovers out there and for those who want to read something crazy and different!
