Stranded With The Alien is Book 1 in the Starbound a steamy sci-fi enemies-to-lovers romance with a kick-ass human heroine, a few laughs, a lot of action, and an unexpected final twist. Oh yes, and a ripped alien warrior with pseudo-tentacles.
Perfect for fans of Ruby Dixon, Krista Luna and Honey Phillips. For readers 18 and over. From the author of the Immortal Hearts series.
*This book ends on a thrilling cliffhanger but fear not - the story continues in Starbound Book 2 Captured By The Alien*
Lilah T. Bane is the daughter of a tough Special Forces soldier and a cookery teacher. She grew up knowing how to deliver a mean right hook and an even meaner cheese soufflé. Now she writes paranormal fantasy full of passion and romance. She lives in a leafy part of England with a territorial Siamese cat and a very patient boyfriend. Just to be clear, the tough Special Forces soldier is her mother. A very good book and starts with this series. On a personal preference, I preferred the Immortal Hearts series, but that is personal preference. I do respect Lilah for stepping out of her comfort zone as well and creating a great new series.
Crash landing on an inhospitable alien world, the last thing Kara needs is to find the mortal enemy of the human race has also been trapped on this planet. Their survival depends on working together, but can they?
Strong feelings, new companions, and a new way of looking at each other's views. A great start. This book does end on a chif hanger, so read this, and you will be in for the whole series. I am.
Stranded with the alien was a pleasent surprise,I didn't knew this author but liked very much this book and the promisse of a very good series. A enemies to lovers romance where a human and a Vraxian crash into a harsh planet. After 20 years of war the hate and tension are on his highest, to survive they have to work together but as time passes things start to change... A good world building and well developed characters. The banter and the chemistry between them is explosive. Ends in a cliffhanger that made me want to scream. I look forward to read more of this series!
Stranded With The Alien is the first book of the author’s Starbound series and a definite winner in the good read category! MFC Kara Singh is a fighter pilot for Earth and is busy at the moment trying to blast an enemy Vraxian Viper ship into atoms when her Captain radios her back to their command ship because of an incoming asteroid shower. Refusing to give up her quarry she disobeys those orders and shoots the Viper down than gets hit herself by the asteroids, now too late to avoid. Crashing on an unknown planet but still alive, and not seriously hurt, she sets about making it to high ground to place her emergency locator beacon. Along the way Kara is almost killed by one of the planets deadly wildlife and who should her rescuer be? Her deadliest enemy, the Viper pilot she’d shot down. This story was a fantastic enemy-to-lovers romance with lots of angst and bitterness between the two military foes that turns to trust and understanding once they are able to communicate and start working together after declaring a truce. Vraxian MMC Vahn is intrigued by the feisty human which is why he hasn’t dispatched her already or could it be the fact he senses a human may be his Kalehsh, mate? I LOVED this expertly written Sci-Fi adventure that had a few surprise twists, passion, humor, action, and excellent world building. The two leads were perfectly crafted characters and I enjoyed the journey they took me on which isn’t over yet because dang it… CLIFFHANGER!

A sizzling alien enemies to lovers romance on a desolate planet!
Kara Singh is a fighter pilot for the Earth military who is on a mission to take down the enemy, when she accidentally gets caught in an asteroid field, and gets stuck on an inhospitable planet. She notices the bogey she tried to shoot down, also crashed into the planet. Cue some nasty creatures, alien technology, a bit of treason, and you have an entertaining, steamy, un-put-downable story! (Because I definitely read this during work hours because some meetings just really aren't that important.) I really liked the world development here. It's set in the undetermined future where all the countries have united under one leader. And then the Vraxians attacked... Anyway, I liked how the much we get to learn about the Vraxians from Kara's interactions with Vahn. I also liked the "culture shock" both were able to experience. It's an entertaining story with some pretty great twists, and I'm looking forward to the next story!
The story is told in dual third person POV, with the perspective changing potentially multiple times in a chapter. There is steamy times, violence (not particularly gory), swearing (both in English and Vraxian), and a wonderful enemies to lovers storyline. To all the cliffhanger people: this story has a wonderful twist at the end that will make you really want to read the next one. Soon. Preferably now. Please.
Another book and series where the A either, does not care or is ignorant to the rules of the romance genre. This story does NOT feature a Happily Ever After or a Happily For Now. Which, to be a romance, it MUST contain one of the two, even if it’s a series. This rule is clearly defined places like RWA and in settings where fiction writing in romance is taught. A cliffhanger is not supposed to be used in the romance genre. So, I had to rate it one star for two reasons. One: this story and series doesn’t meet the literary conventions of the romance genre. And two: The heroine’s pet dog-like creature is you know what that no one likes to happen to a dog in books or movies. It’s written as it’s no big deal! The hero isn’t even upset about it. His excuse for letting it happen was that he thought the dog-like creature would be okay. Also, I got a feeling of déjà vu reading this book. Has it previously been published with another title and or by another pen name? This story has potential. But the rules are there for a reason. Just because so many of these new A’s are breaking them, doesn’t mean everyone else should too. The POV jumps around within chapters and there is not clearly defined POV that remains consistent within the book. It's very messy how the 3rd POV does odd shifting where it blurs the line between limited and omniscient.
I loved the enemy to lover story line. The world building was phenomenal. I liked the back and forth exchange of "power". The slow acceptance of who and what they could be. The twists were really good. Especially towards the end. This is a trilogy, so of course there is a very dramatic cliffhanger. I loved both Kara and Vahn. Kara is a very strong h. She is a soldier and someone of importance. I loved her defiance and stubbornness with Vahn. I also love her compassion , it has it's own rewards. Vahn is full of surprises. Of course being the enemy he has a set mind on what is to be and how the handle it. I loved what he used to "control" Kara and how she was able to circumvent it. Very clever. Well written. I loved the story line. This takes place on a moon with it's own challenges. Can't wait for the next book to see how Kara gets out of the trouble she got herself in. I received a free copy of this book via StoryOrigin and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love, love, love this book. I felt Vahn and Kara represented one of the best enemies to lovers storylines I’ve read so far. Vahn a Vraxian warrior, engaged in a war with humans is shot down and crash lands on a planet. Kara a human warrior was engaged in a fight and shot down the vraxian viper, but was hit by asteroids and crash landed on the same planet. Their first contact is murderous but changes, when their situation determines they need to call a truce in order to survive the planets environment and creatures. 90% is just Vahn and Kara, I was addicted to their interactions. The author writing style was easy to read and balanced. I’ve downloaded the next book because of rocky ..plus Vahn and Kara arduous journey too. This book has to be read ..
From enemies to lovers, this book will leave you wanting more. With enough heat to leave you hot under the collar, dive in for an intergalactic survival that turns spicy unexpectedly. The protagonists get stranded and in a bid to try and get rescued reluctantly rely on each other for survival until help arrives but what they don't know is that things will become much more complicated than just the feud between both species. I couldn't put it down and can't wait for what's to come next in the forbidden relationship.
2.5/5⭐️ 2/5🌶 For the most part, entertaining and fast-paced. Dropped a star due to the end of chapter 21. Consent goes both ways. The fact that he told her repeatedly to stop and she didn't nor did she ever apologize was a little obnoxious. I probably wouldn't have been as annoyed by it, except the author made a pretty big deal of it a few chapters before when the roles were reversed. The main difference being Vaughn was delirious at the time he came onto her vs Kara was quite aware of her actions when she came on to him.
Really enjoyed this. "Drek" was a little overused and the taste buds on various appendages has me asking questions I'm not sure I want the answers to as well as some moments of wondering when the last time someone bathed was. I like Vahn and Kara a lot though. Overall was a fun read and I'm invested enough to read the next one.
ETA: The shifting POV was a little confusing in places and I'm not a giant fan something that happens right near the end. If it was done to add an emotional punch, it doesn't quite land. Still overall enjoyed the book though.
I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were interesting. I liked the way they finally started working together and finally ad,titled what they felt for each other. I did not like the book just stopping in the middle of something and telling me it would continue in book 2. If I would have known the author was going to pull that I never would have bothered reading the book.
Normally, I don’t enjoy cliffhanger books, and I never seek out the next. However, I will be reading the next one. Vahn, though, well, he can go straight to you know where. He’s a bit of a butt towards the end. May have found another great sci-fi romance author.
An enemy to friends, to lovers, back to enemies love Story
This was such a good book, that I read it all in one sitting. I can’t wait to read the next one. Survival is the main goal, and you have to work very hard to do that every day. A lovely Romeo and Juliet story with alien creatures, a desolate environment, and bittersweet feelings. I laughed, I cried, and I got angry.
I was looking for a simple read to satisfy my alien romance craving. Didn’t realize that this would become one of my favorites and it continues into the next book. OMG if you want true enemies to lovers, hot aliens, BA female characters, strap in!
I really liked the main characters and their cultural prode while accepting that the realities of the war between them may not be founded on truth. The cliffhanger ending caught me by surprise.
