Linda’s just trying to hold it all together. Her husband, Greg, suffers from chronic kidney disease, so to save money, the family has moved in with her mother—a former magician’s assistant—who in turn is losing herself to dementia. Meanwhile, Lin’s daughter is determined to attend the nearby circus magnet school in the clowning track, and her middle son is obsessed with a reality TV show set on Mars. Plus, her oldest son, who may be a compatible kidney donor for his father, disappears sight unseen for days at a time. As Greg’s birthday approaches, Lin vows to make it special while managing her family’s chaos of struggles and setbacks.
