DNF at 15%. At the start of ‘The Mind Makeover’, the author lists all the high-end brands she’s worked with - WARNING, WARNING! - but promises her coaching can help actual people, anyone in fact, not just brands. Straight away I didn’t like this angle at all, and I really should have called it a loss then. But no, I had to give the book a chance.

The 2 chapters I managed were a gross mix of toxic positivity, Facebook-style inspirational quotes, boomer catchphrases, tumbleweed puns, the gratingly obvious and bad, sometimes arguably dangerous advice. Don’t talk about what’s wrong in your life! Only your shirt sleeves will ‘turn up’ for you! You are in control of everything, so take responsibility! Despair is a great motivator! Nothing less than huge immediate changes and constant awe-inspiring experiences will do! Have you tried THINKING ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT? Did you know you’re GOING TO DIE? Ever thought of DECIDING TO CHANGE? Oh my God, stop. What the hell?

Maybe things improve, but I picked up no indications of that being likely, and I cannot push through even one more page of this crap. I guess that’s my fault for not digging deep enough into my endless reserve of motivation!!!

I was bought this for my birthday. Read it in one day, and though some of the advice isn't original, it is a bit of a wake-up call. I think we read something like this, say we've seen it before, but have we actually tried the advice? That's what I'm going to do now - work through it a chapter a week and see how I get on.

80% of this book i read it before like in other self-care books, you barely can find new information. I like it little because of the exercises she put out in the book, which i know they will help and train my mind but i skipped it till i got time for it. The law of attraction chapter i skipped it, because i had enough of this topic. Its good to re-positive your thoughts and refresh your memory about how "to make it", but it didn't met my expectation.
