What if healing isn’t a straight line—but a series of quiet, unseen battles?
Khadija was the dependable one. Until she wasn’t. Between the weight of expectations, the fog of anxiety, and a friendship that becomes both her lifeline and her reckoning, she begins a journey she never anticipated. This raw, introspective novel explores the silent unraveling and rediscovery of a young woman learning to live with her mind—one moment at a time.
A story of invisible struggles, quiet strength, and the healing power of being seen.

"Mental health wasn’t just about emotions. It wasn’t just about feeling sad or anxious or overwhelmed. It was about everything."
Khadija is a girl who was always anxious about everything. Even simple things could make her anxious easily. Sometimes she even had a panic attack. When this one time it went to peak and she thought it was all about her mental health and that she couldn't delay anymore. She asked for her parents' support and her friend Rayan's support.
Rayan is her friend from online. They both didn't meet each other and supported each other online. When Khadija said she had to see a doctor, Rayan understood and encouraged her for her biggest step to overcome the anxiety. Will seeing a doctor help her in any way? Will she be cured? Has she overcome the crisis? Has Khadija and Rayan met? Read this book to know more.
Anxiety is not something that should be underestimated. I have a friend who is like Khadija. It was overwhelming for her. She struggles with her day-to-day life like Khadija because of her anxiety. If anyone goes through the same means, seeking professional help will be the best. As for the book, it explains why and how anxious people live. Though in the end, Khadija finds out how to stop being anxious herself, I don't know if it works the same for everyone. Overall a good book.
Some books find you at the right time — and Khadija’s Friend: Anxiety is one of them.
This story doesn’t shout for attention; it whispers. It sits with you in the quiet, in those moments when you don’t know how to explain what’s happening inside your mind. Through Khadija’s journey, Nida Saqib captures what anxiety really feels like — the confusion, the breathlessness, the loss of control, and the deep exhaustion that no report or test can explain.
What touched me most is how real it feels. There’s no drama, no pretence — just raw honesty. You can feel the author’s heart in every line, especially when she reminds you that struggling doesn’t make you weak. That you’re not broken — just human.
It’s a story about losing your rhythm, about friendships that change, about learning to live with your mind when it doesn’t feel like yours anymore. And somehow, despite the heaviness, it leaves you with hope — a quiet kind of hope that healing will come, even if slowly.
If you’ve ever battled anxiety, or loved someone who does, this book will stay with you. It doesn’t fix you — it understands you.
