I really enjoyed this clever book. Written as a play, it does a fantastic job developing characters we care about, balanced with real-world issues facing the LGBTQ+ community, lots of heart, and a hefty dose of humour. The book focuses on Sienna, a new student at her high school, who becomes fast friends with a charming array of acting students. The acting class embarks on a production of Romeo & Juliet, but with a twist: both leads will be played by women. This does not sit well with a particular group of parents, and matters escalate. The dialogue is tight, witty and compelling, and the characters are believable and engaging. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys YA fiction!!
