ELEMENTAL PRINCESS by M.M. Roethig *Prequel to Raine Kaesen, an elemental princess, lives on a distant star called Maia. She loves Alwen, but as her sworn protector they're forbidden to be together. Promised to a cruel man, Kaesen will do whatever is necessary to change the stars and be allowed to love her Alwen.
Author M.M. Roethig is a ‘happily-ever-after’ author whose guilty pleasure is a swoon worthy romance. Growing up, she spent her youth on various Air Force bases in many different states, which encouraged her imagination and love of make believe stories with each new city, scenery, and situation. Finally settling in Idaho, M.M. Roethig finished her schooling years and eventually met and married her very own Prince Charming. A recent move took her to Northern Colorado, a place she has instantly fallen in love with and embraced as her home. When she is not swooning over romance stories or writing, M.M. Roethig enjoys spending time with her husband and son who also call Colorado home. With two grown daughters and one son-in-law living in Idaho, she finds every excuse to travel back as much as possible. Other hobbies M.M. Roethig enjoys is running, photography, baking, watching her son swim, and cheering on the Denver Broncos.
This was a really good introduction to the series, and I really enjoyed it!
I really liked Kaesen and Alwen, and their love was so right! It was awful the way they were forced apart and the way Kaesen was sold off as a bride to someone else. Really interested to pick up the next instalment and find out what happens next! 8 out of 10
This novella is very good. I usually prefer a longer story, but this caught my attention and caught my interest in the full length novel, Raine. Elemental Princess is the prequel and lays a great foundation to the story that is to come.
Kaesen is a Princess on a dying star. She loves her childhood friend, Alwen, who has become her protector. She has been promised to marry another man, a man she does not love, a man who gives her the creeps.
This novella deals with their struggle to be together. It compares a pure love to evil intentions.
I was impressed by the amount of description and the empathy that I felt for the characters in only 57 pages.
what a romance this novella is. it was as the love story of kaesen and alwen (the grandparents) what joy..as you read raine you see when Raine reads the story about Kaesen ans Alwen but you actually do not know the whole story it is nice to read it from the author's view great novella totally recommend this to all Raine fans
I read this as part of an anthology called "Beginnings" which I won in a book event. Our elemental princess, Kaesen, has an arranged marriage in her future and her heart already belonging to another. This is the stuff from which great romances are made. This was very enjoyable and you should read it too! :)
Interesting world M.M. Roethig created with Elementals and how they came to be on Earth. The story was intense, the characters were believable, and the story line hooked me from the start.
Intriguing world and characters; a very engaging story. Love it when an author can so deftly use the medium to explore our humanity. Can't wait to see what Roethig creates next!
I loved this novella so much. I wished it was longer. It also has one of my favorite theme. Childhood friends to lover. Once I started reading it I couldn't stop till the end. Despite it having an HEA, I felt sad for the things that Kaesen experienced. I never trusted both Elzar and Isa's character and I knew that there was something fishy going on between those two. I also had a feeling about Kaesen's sister and I wished that I was so wrong about that.
The love between Kaesen and Alwen was powerful and that because of them, they would be able to help protect those people even if it's not them directly. alwen and Kaesen's romance was very tender and sweet.
What I look forward to reading most is when Elzar and Isa will get their punishments.
The ending was bittersweet to me but still an HEA. I'm happy that they would be together forever. I kind of got teary eyed but happy at the same time.
