My Review:
Nicole Weider explains how when she finally achieved her status as a model. This being her ultimate dream, you would think that would of caused a huge adrenaline rush for her that never went away. But, not so fast. She quickly learned that the only one and the only thing that could satisfy that need in her was God. The author has turned her life in a different direction, one pointing straight up to God, Himself. She has taken her know how and started a great website for young girls to better themselves overall. And now she presents us with a book full of her beauty secrets.

I really enjoyed using the book but I think my 18 year old daughter enjoyed it more. There is even an Inspired Style Quiz where you can assess your signature style. I was classic my daughter was edgy. We had a lot of fun looking through and reading the author's tips. We were even happy to find out that we use some of her suggested beauty products already.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review through my participation on the Z Blog Squad.

PROJECT INSPIRED is a very good book. She tells us about her experiences as a model and how she realizes it wasn't what she thought it would be. The way she switched paths to Christianity.

I like that she shared everything she went through and how to work around it in a Christian way. There are tips on boyfriends, dates, marriage, beauty and fashion tips and how to make a difference in the world.

It was a really good book.

It was good for christian inspirational book but turned sort of dull by the end. I love the section about entertainment and protecting yourself by the content you bring in

This review is also available on my blog, Read Till Dawn.

This isn't really what I was expecting. I requested it from a Christian book catalog, but the synopsis doesn't really sound that religious so I thought it was going to be mostly more general advice, not Christian-specific. That doesn't mean I'm not the target audience (after all, I am very much a Christian teenage girl!), but it does mean my blog isn't quite the target I thought it would be - I try not to stray too far into Christian books when I do my reviews, but oh, well. Non-Christian readers, just skip over this one, I guess.

Anyway, on the whole I really liked Nicole's tips. At times they seemed kind of random (and in the beginning I thought the entire book would be full of outfit tips!), but she makes a lot of great points. I can't say that all of the fashion terms really registered with me (what the heck is a "studded cross body" purse? And who actually worries about the oils in her hands being bad for her face?), but I think that's just because I'm not nearly as dressy as a lot of my peers. A few days after reading Project Inspired I was sorting through all of my clothes, getting rid of those that don't fit or that were too heavy for summer (yes, I waited until August to put aside my winter clothes). I found myself thinking about some of her tips as I considered what outfits I could make with the leftover clothes, and whether I needed to buy any more (the answer: yes. After getting rid of all the winter clothes, I have like ten tops, five skirts, and four pants. I put them all on hangars and they didn't even fill up my closet).

With the life and faith advice, I appreciated that Nicole was very nonjudgemental, and very focused on God's forgiveness. I didn't agree with her on a few points (for example, she believes gender roles are necessary in healthy relationships), but on the whole she had a lot of strong advice about staying pure, actively cultivating strong friendships, and looking for good boyfriends/husbands. I checked out her website very briefly, and found a lot of really great advice (and some I, again, was a little meh about) couched in very loving terms. I believe Nicole honestly has a passion for helping girls "enjoy [their] teen years while still standing firm in [their] faith."

So yeah. I might refer back to Project Inspired in the future for some clothing tips as I work on sprucing up my wardrobe, but I don't think I'll be frequenting the website with any regularity. I love the idea of it, though, and may check back now and then just to see what sort of things people are talking about. I don't know if I'd really recommend this to anyone, but I certainly wouldn't discourage anyone from reading it, either - and if one of my friends is interested by my copy, I'll probably just give it to her.

This book is about Nicole's life growing up and her desire to be a model as well as how she achieved that goal. It is also about the reasons that did not bring her satisfaction, and how she turned to Jesus in the midst of her depression and downward spiral. After recognizing that her true identity could only be found in Jesus, her goal is now to be a role model for girls who are searching for the same recognition she was looking for.

It starts out with her personal story, and then moves on to tips she offers girls. Tips such as wardrobe essentials, modesty tips - how to determine a good length for a dress. She talks about the pressure girls (and even women) feel to compare themselves with airbrushed pictures of models that are practically unachievable. Nicole worked in a clothing store in the mal, and for a while thought it was really cool, until she became aware of the subtle "sex sells" and the lies it offers teenagers as they try to measure up. Nicole offers tips on body shape and styles to suit your own type, beauty and skincare tip.

But Nicole doesn't keep her tips to outward beauty alone. She also addresses inner beauty, spiritual gifts, roadblocks, and friendships both good and bad. Music, now that's a topic for conversation, and Nicole is not afraid to talk about it. What kind of music should our teens be listening to? How to choose a husband? What kind of guy to date or avoid? Sex before marriage? This book has something to say about all of it, from a godly perspective. It encourages our daughters to guard their minds and bodies.

I would say this book is worth investing in. It has beautifully colored pictures, exclusive tips, Bible verses, and so much more. It's a book I would want my daughters to have. Nicole also has a website for girls where they can share their hearts and ask questions. I've read some great articles there.

I no sooner pulled this book out of the packaging and my daughter had it in her hands and devoured it in twenty-four hours. So I thought why not let her review it, someone who the book is geared toward? I decided to do it in an interview format. This the opinion of a thirteen-year-old girl.
What would tell your friends this book is about?
Beauty and Jesus.
What is your favorite part of the book?
The chapters True Beauty and Your Wardrobe Essentials and Defining Your Look and Must-Have Accessories.
What was your least favorite part of the book?

Definitely.
Why did you like this book so much?
Because I’m very much into beauty, fashion and Jesus.

Her answers are short but I can tell you so loved the book and went on about it, showing me different things and then looking up Nicole’s website. Anything that draws my daughter closer to Jesus I am all about :)

I got this book for my granddaughter, who is only 11 but is a girly girl already and she is already anything and all things that have to do with fashion and beauty in today's world. She read this book from cover to cover. It gave her ideas on how a Christian girl should dress, use makeup effectively, and other ideas that interest young girls who are Christians but they still want to be attractive to others. The "tips and tricks" that she passes along are very useful. Nicole briefly shares her modeling story where she had trouble fitting in at school and my granddaughter struggles with this daily, so I was very happy that she enjoyed reading this book and I know that it has given her more strength and courage about being herself, and has helped her with her self image.

I received this book free from Thomas Nelson part of the BookLook Bloggers program, for my honest and un-biased opinion.

I received this book for free from Book Look Bloggers in exchange only for an honest unbiased review of the book.

This book was not what I expected I was expecting a more adult style chapter book, but instead I found a much more young teen friendly book. The book jumps from topic to topic in a manner that many teens would find fun. This jumping from topic to topic helps to stop the book from getting boring. The author did a good job incorporating biblical elements into the book with out making it over kill. This book delivers on its promise to engage teenage girls with how it provides age relevant information on beauty, acne, and nail tips. Here is an excerpt from my review: "While there were a few good points about friendships and relationships, I was a little disappointed that this book seemed to barely scratch the surface. It was a little too "Rah-rah God! Everything will be sugar and candy when you believe in God! Just look at my life! It's great!" But that isn't the reality of being a follower of Jesus at all. There's a lot more to it than that."

Project Inspired is a book that encourages you to search for your inner beauty. This book is filled with godly advice about relationships, fashion, and outward appearance. I highly recommend this read for young, teenaged Christians. What resonated with me the most was when Weider said, “As much time you dedicate to looking beautiful on the outside, spend as much time keeping your soul focused on what’s truly important, which is our relationship with God.”

Okay, so yeah, this definitely isn't the kind of book I usually pick up. I remember this website when it was just starting, although I haven't been on in years. I've kept up a little with it, though, seeing how much it's grown and how it's evolved. So when I saw the founder had a book out, I decided to give it a try.

Now, I am probably not the target audience for this, as it is aimed more for preteen and teen girls. But I thought it was interesting. The writing is a little simple, but I thought there was actually good information in here. The book covers a variety of topics from fashion and makeup to boys and friends to faith.

There was some, I guess you could say, bias. It is filled with a lot of Nicole's opinions more so than just facts. I felt some things were a stretch (like the Esther analogies in the fashion section... um, what?) but other than that, I think this would be a cute and resourceful book for preteens and young teens. I mean, it basically just is a giant ad for their website, but that's sort of obvious going in. I didn't rate this one because I wouldn't really know how to. I think it would be good for the intended demographic. That's just not me.

I received a copy from the publisher, this did not affect my honest opinion.
