This was a good volume, focusing on Peter as he joins the Avengers, it has him facing off against evil hydra versions of Thor, Cap, Iron man and Hawkeye and so it becomes a challenge for him to solve this crisis, find the culprits behind it and stop whatever evil plan it is that they are scheming. Here its to poison water systems. This volume was good that it focused on Peter working with a team and taking on big threats and that self sacrifice moment he showed to stop the missile..was heroic and one of my fav moments. Also the whole Tony-MJ gossip was well done and a peaceful resolution. Also Peter has been having blackouts so that will be a good thing to focus on. Great volume and the art was just brilliant and clean and a joy to read through.

Spider-Man is trying to balance his life while also dealing with being a New Avenger.
This is basically reeling from May's house burning down and now May, Peter, and MJ live in the Avenger's Tower. It's a weird transition but it mostly works. However, Hydra here is...okay. Them as villains and their big plot is just decent at best and the villains which are pale imitations of the real heroes like Thor and Cap just come off as cheesy. But the storylines with Peter and MJ, May and Jarvis, and Peter and Tony are all handled really well. Not a great volume but solid. A 3 to 3.5 out of 5.

Another really solid installment. Again, what really shines in this run is not just how Peter is written, but how his interpersonal relationships are written. He and MJ, Aunt May, Tony Stark, the rest of the Avengers... this is what keeps you turning the pages. Oh, and a terrifying plot by Hydra doesn't hurt, too.

I really loved this!
This was a really fun book, with lots of action (the Avengers going up against Hydra), humor (especially Aunt May putting Logan into his place, I laughed out loud!) and heart (Tony helping out Peter and his family after they lost everything).
Good pacing, good writing and good artwork. What more could one want from a comic book?
I got this because I am right now making my way through Civil War, and before I read Spider-Man Civil War, I wanted to get all the previous story and how Tony and Peter became close friends.
And it certainly delivers on that front, Tony can be very nice and charming (in his own way) but we also get to see his ruthless side when Peter and MJ are threatened by some tabloid reporter. Tony makes it very clear that it is one thing to threaten him, and another to threaten his friends, with petty motives, no less. Tony is a character you oppose or cross at your own peril. So this is foreshadowing of things to come.

Otra saga centrada en los cambios que supone para Spiderman formar parte de los Vengadores (tia May y Jarvis, los rumores sobre MJ...) y un enfrentamiento mal llevado contra Hydra. Prescindible.

En este nuevo volumen tendremos un hecho muy importante para futuro, especialmente para uno de los macro-eventos más importantes de la historia del cómic: “Civil War”, pero falta para eso, y acá son solo los cimientos. En una primera impresión no es un volumen que me vuelva loco, pero sin me gustó demasiado el humor de Spidey, siento que si bien de repente se pasa, le daba ese tono tan sarcástico y carismático que hace ser el querido vecino de todos. Pero el corazón de este volumen no fue Peter, ni MJ, si no la tía May. Ese tipo de detalles tan simples, pero tan divertidos como la conversación con Logan, hacen que se llevó toda mi atención, sinceramente una de las grandes reivindicaciones que hizo Straczkynski.
Volviendo a la trama del volumen, Peter debe adaptarse a su nueva vida, en la cual debe vivir con los Avengers, como también realizar un equilibrio entre su vida de superhéroe y de humano. Es ahí donde sinceramente me siento un poco defraudado: ¿qué pasó con la trama de Peter siendo profesor? Sinceramente era algo que valoraba muchísimo de JMS, personalmente uno de los aciertos más grande de esta saga, pero que fue desechado completamente por motivos editoriales. Es evidente que ahora Spiderman debe cumplir con las expectativas de la editorial, quieren realizar importantes cosas a futuro y necesitan a todos sus pilares, sin ir más lejos en la formación de estos nuevos Avengers tenemos a Logan, por lo tanto, eso nos indica cuales son las líneas: utilizar estandartes para potenciar la venta y luego dar un batacazo con lo que vendría a futuro. Y soy de esas personas que me gusta Civil War, pero siento que lamentablemente perdió toda la magia la trama íntima que quería contar, esos pequeños detalles que me hacían conectar mucho con el personaje. El mismo Peter lo menciona, me siento muy alejado de esta realidad, de este mundo, no soy de acá, y es justamente lo que mucha gente mencionaba cuando el trepamuros se unió a los Avengers, porque es alguien tremendamente solitario, cargando sin ayuda esa mochila. Por eso es tan orgánico verlo con Daredevil, se siente natural, porque ambos son personajes que si bien son para públicos distintos, se siente que fueron cortados por la misma tijera.
Por otra parte, el arco de Hydra sinceramente no me intereso, fuera de lo entretenido que fue. Pero como mencionaba anteriormente, este tipo de situaciones estaban establecidas por la necesidad de presentar a esta nueva formación con Spiderman, y como actúa él con ellos. Es ahí donde también extraño esas peleas contra los villanos que a veces mucho de los conflictos personales, más que el fin del mundo, como ocurrió con Ezequiel, porque sentías que la lucha era en todos los sentidos, dándole más profundidad al conflicto. Por ejemplo, cuando el cohete va al espacio y termina con ese cliffhanger de Peter casi muerto, donde sabes que no morirá, ni tampoco está en peligro, quizá va a traer consecuencias, por lo tanto, lo interesante no es la situación como tal, sino como se trabaja todo el contexto, como lo que ocurrió con la villana Shathra.
Personalmente, siento que ya se está cerrando esta época, porque se nota que ya no es lo mismo de los primeros volúmenes, sino más historias entretenidas con distintas interacciones con otros personajes, pero ya no es ese toque tan intimista que tuvo en sus inicios. Pero bueno, es normal que ocurran este tipo de situaciones con escritores que son tan de firma de autor, donde se nota que está su sello, porque (como ya había mencionado en otra reseña) puede tener grandes aciertos, también tiene cosas que divide mucho el público, y es mejor dejar a todos contentos, aunque sea otra historia genérica más.

Solid and fun.
World: The art is okay, I like how Peter and MJ looks in this book and connected me to them. The world building is fun, moving Peter to Avengers tower and dealing with this bigger piece of the MU was fantastic. They dynamic of him being he new kid was great.
Story: Fun, predictable but fun. The pacing was good, the villain was interesting and the book read like a summer popcorn movie. It's good the cameos and the people we see were good and the tone was wonderful. It's a breath of fresh air after all the doom and gloom that has been going with Peter's life. It's good.
Characters: Good, not a lot of development until the end leading to Others but the interactions were great. Just good solid character work due to the fun interactions.
Fun and solid.

Peter, MJ et May déménagent dans la tour des Avengers, que Spider-Man a rejoint quelques temps auparavant, après la destruction de leurs domiciles dans Skin Deep. À peine ont-ils le temps de s'acclimater que Hydra fait son retour, avec un nouveau plan démoniaque contre l'Amérique et c'est aux Avengers et au Tisseur de les stopper !
Straczynski continue de mener la barque ASM avec brio, profitant de la présence des plus grands héros de la Terre pour mettre en scène de sympathiques interactions avec les Avengers et de bonnes scènes de combat, ainsi que le sens du sacrifice de Spider-Man, tout en continuant de mettre en avant le couple Peter-MJ et les difficultés auxquelles ils font face ensemble. Même Tante May semble avoir trouvé chaussure à son pied. Seul point négatif, Hydra, manque dans cet arc d'un véritable leader charismatique.
Deodato n'est lui toujours pas à son meilleur aux dessins, mais cela ne gâche en rien le plaisir de lecture.

New Avengers (519-524). The New Avengers era for Spider-Man was one of the highlights of Spidey's story over the last 20 years, especially his time in Avengers Tower, and that all started here. Him getting to live with peers, MJ and May getting to live within his world, and even May having a romance with Jarvis were all awesome plot points. Oh, there's some main plotline here involving Hydra. Was this really the first time Hydra was dangerous in some time? If so, it was a great move that led to many future stories. Here's it's fine as padding between the amazing interactions in the tower. [4+/5].

Después de la sobredosis de drama y los despropósitos argumentales de los anteriores tomos, en este volvemos a tener unos cuantos episodios desenfadados y muy divertidos. la inclusión de spiderman en los vengadores y el hecho de mudarse a la torre stark con ellos da mucho juego por la interacción de Peter Parker, Mary Jane, y en especial la tía May con los personajes del entorno de los vengadores.

Esta vez vemos cómo Spiderman está llevando el formar parte de los nuevos Vengadores y cómo están sus relaciones personales con tía May y con MJ. Está entretenido, pero el enfrentamiento contra Hydra me ha parecido un poco flojo. Aunque sin duda lo mejor de todo este volumen ha sido el tía May vs Logan.

The first half of the book was really solid. Good mystery, great reveals, good pacing.
But the last couple issues felt really off to me. Story wrapped up real quick, villains posed little threat, lots of very convenient exposition, wayyy too many jokes from Peter, and a bit of a cliff hanger ending.

Man, reading this volume and seeing what a cool status quo this is for Spider-Man makes me hate Civil War and One More Day even more. The conflict with Hydra isn’t anything special, but I could read an entire omnibus of Peter, MJ, and Aunt May just hanging out in the tower and bantering with the Avengers.

Peter Parker, MJ, and Aunt May move into the Avengers Tower while Hydra launches a new attack on the city. The interactions between the heroes, and only Aunt May can put them in their place. Another fantastic installment from Straczynski that brings new twists to Peter Parker's story.

Una bona entrega autoconclusiva de la saga. Peter Parker es muda a la mansió dels vengadors i ha d'enfrontar-se a les noves situacions i nous enemics. El dibuix es excelent i el ritme i personatges son creïbles i divertits. No es un volum trascendental, pero si una bona historieta del trepamurs.
