Book 1: Wyoming Bodyguard Book 2: Personal Bodyguard
Danielle M Haas is a stay-at-home mom turned author. When she isn’t writing fast-paced romantic suspense novels with mysteries to live for and romance to die for, she’s busy being a taxi driver to her two busy kids and forcing her introverted self to talk to other soccer moms. Her kids and husband are her world, which is also shared with her hyper Bernie doodle, two sassy cats, and one leopard gecko who’s happy to chill on a rock all day. Her days are packed with cuddles, kisses, and a brain constantly thinking of new ways to create danger and romance for her next book.
This was a really good, fast paced book. Eve and Reid have known each other for a while and they have a crush on each other. Neither one knows how to tell the other. When a man comes into Eve’s bar and tries to hurt her Reid shows up. Reid stands by her side until they catch the guy who is stalking Eve and causing trouble. The end was amazing.

Personal Bodyguard is the second title in the Sunset Security series, this time bringing us Eve and Reid’s compelling romance. Eve and Reid have been friends for years, with a bit more emotion involved than just friendship, as they each unknowingly have a crush on the other, but neither has taken the risk of trying to move beyond the friend zone. When Reid walks into Eve’s bar, where an unruly, determined customer is attacking Eve, all bets are off. The guy gets away, Eve is ruffled but alright, and they both put the incident down to a drunk in town for the rodeo. Mistake.
Reid’s protective nature goes into overdrive, announcing himself as her bodyguard for the foreseeable future, especially when small wooden roses begin to show up in places they never should have been left. A chance unruly customer has just turned into a deadly stalker. And the mysterious death of a woman discovered at the rodeo adds even more danger to Eve’s situation.
I absolutely loved Personal Bodyguard. Reid is the most protective man; his hidden feelings for Eve are about to be acknowledged, and that made him one of the best heroes for me. A couple who have always been friends with some unacknowledged feelings for each other is one of my favorite “tropes,” if you will. A romantic future based on a solid friendship has always felt more realistic to me than a sudden “lightning bolt” attraction… but that’s me. Their story is well-written, tension-filled, passionate, and emotional as Eve and Reid are thrust into a fight for Eve’s life and their future. The villain is vile, and the search for them was intense and suspenseful. The danger is very real, and it felt that way. I loved seeing familiar faces from Wyoming Bodyguard, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next story, Bodyguard Cowboy. If you enjoy a friendship that goes to the next level, two people who obviously belong together, and an intense set of clues to put together to find the villain, then you’re going to love Personal Bodyguard.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley, and I sincerely thank the author or publishing house for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I do like it when the main characters already know each other long before they get together, such as Reid and Eve. It makes it far more believable how fast their relationship moves into love and physical connection, if you know what I mean.
Eve is the proud owner of a bar and grill in town that was handed down to her by her parents. Reid is an ex-marine that moved into security after leaving the army. They've long been friends, friends secretly crushing silently on each other. So when Eve is attacked in her own bar around closing and Reid happens to walk in during the altercation, it only makes sense that he makes himself her personal bodyguard, right?
At first Eve doesn't really think she needs Reid's help, but when her attacker comes at her again and then again, it's crystal clear she needs help. Reid's 24/7 protection is welcomed. As her attacker turned stalker gets more bold, it becomes blatantly clear that she's in grave danger when another woman shows up murdered at the local rodeo.
So what did I think?
I enjoyed the majority of the story, with a few little hiccups where I thought Eve's actions didn't match her overall personality that was built up throughout the story. Reid's weird little aversion to serious relationships despite knowing that's what he wanted with Eve...eh, didn't love it.
I did appreciate the mystery and danger the author brought to life. And I loved how the book ended.
Reid Summers, former Marine, left the military and is working at Sunrise Security in Cloud Valley, Wyoming. He calls Eve Tilly, owner of Tilly’s Bar & Grill, a friend, but sometimes thinks that there might be something more growing between them. On a busy night at the bar, Eve is there by herself when her last customer, a stranger, accosts her. Luckily, Reid comes into the bar and the stranger flees. Unable to locate him, she hopes that he has left the area. When she begins to find small, wooden roses in her home and near her, she learns that the stranger is responsible for them and appears to be courting her in a weird way. Reid promises to keep her safe as he invites her to stay in his home. She feels safe with him, but how long can Reid be away from his job in order to protect her? Will he get tired of taking care of her? Reid has enjoyed his close friendship with Eve, but spending so much one-on-one time with her, has made him realize how much she has come to mean to him. When he believes that the stranger has found her again, will he and his team find her before he loses her forever? A beautiful friend to lovers’ romantic suspense with Reid facing his own feelings and past. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
Personal Bodyguard kept me hooked from the very first chapter. Eve and Reid have known each other for years, and the slow-burn crush between them adds a great layer of tension right from the start. When Eve is attacked at her bar, it’s Reid who comes to her rescue—but the danger doesn’t end there. Her attacker escalates things, becoming relentless and increasingly dangerous.
I loved how their strong friendship naturally grows into something deeper as the threat intensifies. The twists and turns kept me guessing, and the elusive attacker’s continued pursuit of Eve raises the stakes at every turn, no matter what Reid and his team do to protect her. The chemistry between Eve and Reid slowly ignites amidst the chaos, making the romance feel earned and emotional. With nonstop suspense and a satisfying ending, this book delivers.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving this honest, personal, and unbiased review.
When Reid, an ex-Marine turned security agent, hears Eve, owner of Tilly's Bar and Grill, scream one night he immediately rushes in an thwarts an attacker who gets away. Since the rodeo is in town, they assume it's a one time episode and the attacker has left the area. However, someone starts stalking Eve and leaving little carved wooden flowers everywhere. Despite being shorthanded at work, Reid decides to be Eve's bodyguard.
When it's discovered a woman has been murdered at the rodeo they begin to wonder if the two events are connected and Reid steps up protecting Eve. Little do either of them realize they are harboring a crush on each other.
Reid is dealing with some past trauma and trying to also protect his sister who is ignoring his advice so he keeps his heart well protected. There are some interesting side characters, especially little Suzy, which made this an enjoyable fast read.
Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
Personal Bodyguard is a friends to lovers romance suspense story that kept me turning the pages!
Thank you to Harlequin for the ARC via Netgalley. All opinions are my own and given freely.
Eve and Reid have been friends for years. Friends with secret crushes. It isn't until Eve is attacked, that more than just Reid's protective instincts kick in. He won't lose her, in more ways than the one.
I enjoyed this story. The connection is there from the start as it slow burns into more. Not only is Eve's attacker stalking her, but trauma from the past comes knocking too. And I enjoyed seeing them work through it together under pressure. There was heartfelt emotion, a splash of steam, and "I got you" swoon. It's book two in a series but I got along just fine jumping in here. My first from the author and I would read more in the future.
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book.. This is the second book in the Sunrise Security series by Ms.Haas. When Eve Tilly is attacked at her bar it’s Reid who comes to her aid: He comes in when things are getting bad, but not too bad. Eve if shaken up; and Reid will stay at her side. The only thing is her attacker doesn’t stop. He escalates things. Another incident happens, and it just might have something to do with her attack. Now the Sunrise Security is helping the police. Only Reid isn’t about to leave Eve alone for a second. They have a good friendship which turns into something more. A lot of things in Reid’s life that holds him back. First they must catch this guy.
Really good. Tragic, mysterious, and a some humor.
The second installment in Danielle Haas’s Sunrise Security series, and it delivers an exciting mix of romance, danger, and emotional depth.
When Eve Tilly’s life is turned upside down after a violent attack at her bar, her world collides with Reid’s — the dependable and protective bodyguard from Sunrise Security. Reid steps in to keep her safe, but what begins as a job quickly becomes something far more personal. As the threats against Eve grow more intense and unpredictable, Reid refuses to let her face any of it alone.
Their connection builds naturally, shifting from a strong friendship into a deep, heartfelt romance. Both Eve and Reid carry emotional scars that make it hard to trust and open up, but the growing danger forces them to rely on each other completely Loved their HEA.
I really enjoyed this book it was a really fast paced read and go straight into things that one side started I just kept going until the very end. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters. They were friends before this all started and once crap went down he did everything he can to make sure she was protected. He had feelings for her before and it looks like it's going to slowly come out as things start to get tense and it was interesting seeing how that turned out. I love the whole tension that was going on when it came to wondering when the person would strike next and why was this even going on. Overall this is a pretty good book I really enjoyed it.
A great friends to lovers story from one of my o to authors. If you love an independent strong female, and men that go into alpha protective mode then this is one like me you will enjoy. When there’s a stalker involved you know it’s going to be an on alert read, and this had that feel. Although book two in this series, it is easily a standalone. So if this is the only book to appeal to you don’t be pot off grab it for your TBR.
I received a review reader’s copy of the book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

I am really loving the Sunrise Security Series!! This is book two, and I enjoyed it as much as the first book! Lots of great tension and chemistry between Eve and Reid. This was a friends to lovers with a slow burn. (My fav) Eve and Reid’s connection was very organic and the emotion felt real and deep. Great character growth! I loved this one from start to finish! I’m looking forward to the next book in the series! I received this book from Harlequin and NetGalley. All opinions are my own!
Personal Bodyguard was a fast, engaging read with a great mix of suspense and romance. The friends-to-lovers dynamic added emotional depth, and I liked seeing Reid step into protector mode when things turned dangerous. The pacing kept me hooked, and the relationship development felt genuine under pressure.
The tokens were so creepy, but in a good way and the rodeo vender was an intelligent, creative way to get info on the killer. Funny, spicy, and suspenseful all in one. The ending was a little anti-climatic. She was stalked for so long only for it to be way too easy for the hero to save the day.
This hit the spot when I wanted a romantic suspense!! I loved Reid & Eve–these two have built a friendship since Reid moved to town. These two both had feelings they hadn’t acted on, and Eve being in danger made it difficult to avoid those feelings. I loved the twists and the suspense, I loved Reid’s protectiveness, and loved that these two found their happily ever after!
An exciting romantic suspense story. I enjoyed getting to know the couple and their friends. Lots of action. Serious back story creating flaws and misunderstandings. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via Netgalley. My review is voluntary.
A small town friends to lovers romance. Eve owns her family's dinner, where she is attacked by a man who starts stalking her and killing other women. Reid volunteers to be her bodyguard, bringing up unexplored feelings along the way. It was a sweet romance read.
I was really excited to read this sweet and short story. Eve and Reid had great chemistry, and who doesnt love a man who wants to protect someone he cares about. This had a good balance between thriller and romance.
While this is part of a series, I missed that and read it first so I can attest that this can be read stand alone. I’ll be going back to pick up book 1. I enjoyed that it was more than just action and romance with well thought out character development.
