Gabriel has spilled the truth, revealing to Dante the shocking betrayal of his trusted uncle. Yet, lurking beneath his noble revelation, is Gabriel's ultimate desire - to avenge the death of his father. The uncle just a decoy for his deadly plot. But will it be enough?
Dante, on the other hand, is filled with unstoppable fury. The uncle, a once cherished family member, has cruelly marked him for death and now vengeance is all he seeks. They both have hidden agendas. They both want revenge. Will they remain enemies or become deadly allies?
Prepare yourself for a whirlwind of impassioned deceit, cutthroat revenge, and unpredictable romance that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
Book two brings us even more sass and depth of these amazing characters.
As new plot twists emerge and more of Gabe driving Dante and Vinnie crazy, we get to see a deeper side of Gabe we didn’t get to see in book one.
I love how their relationship is blossoming, even though Vinnie still wants to strangle Gabe😆 Gabe really knows how to make a man want to commit murder.
This one also ends with a cliffhanger. Can’t wait for book three.
Here's Elamy Pride's "Deadly Ally" is fucking amazing. It's the second and final in their series, The Hitman and The Heir.

These two need shaken again. They had just (sort of) found some equal footing (equal-enough) and started letting down their walls (well, some of their walls) and talked (they did talk--sharing secrets started this downfall) when shit hit the fan. They stopped meshing, stopped trusting. The hurt came back ten-fold in their hurt-comfort dynamic. The secrets piled up again. The talking slowed. The sex didn't stop; they're still great at that, their chemistry is still fantastic as fuck, but everything else seemed to fall off the rails.
And they just kept falling off the rails. It built and built until it exploded in more confessions (good and bad) and more decisions fueled by emotion and revenge.
Love confessions almost happened but guns did instead. Spoiler alert?
I can’t wait for the next one. This cliff hanger was worse. At least the first novel energy HFN. This one ended with me crying. Definitely a spoiler alert.
Trigger Warnings: non-con moments, violence, murder, use of a weapon to cause harm, car accident resulting in serious injuries, kidnapping, ends in a cliffhanger, and more.
I love this book and series and I want book 3 — Now!! I hate cliffhangers! I don’t want to wait to find out who Gabriel really needs to go after, although I have a couple of ideas. Gabriel is just as snarky and captivating as he was in book 1, and Dante is definitely under his spell (as am I). After his dedicated focus for so long, Gabriel is not sure what will happen next, his upbeat banter almost deserting him as he and Dante face the next hurdle in their relationship. I’m hoping that Vinnie’s interest will lead us to another series (this writing team really seems to like 3 part series) or a book at least, once book 3 concludes The Hitman and the Heir series.
If you like fantastic characters, the mafia, a snarky hitman and grumpy bodyguard, Italian families and a bit of a mystery, I think this series would really grab your interest. Each individual book is fairly short but packed with a lot of spicy times and mafia intrigue with double crossing family members, old lies and vendettas to be completed, all wrapped in a story that grabs you and pulls you along a twisting road. Well worth the read, in my opinion, and one that would be even better with rereading the previous books to go from one right on to the next so you can keep Gabriel’s smart mouth in your mind without a break. That’s my plan, at least, for book 3 when it comes out—I want the fun and engagement to go on and on, without stopping. Five stars from me, more if I could.
‘Deadly Ally’ marks a significant continuation in the riveting ‘The Hitman’ series. This enthralling book is set against a backdrop of suspense and intrigue, drawing readers deeper into the complex world of crime and moral dilemmas.
As we follow the sassy hitman, Gabriel, deeper into the underworld, ‘Deadly Ally’ introduces new characters and unexpected twists that keep the tension high. This 2nd edition of the three-part series offers an intricate plot that weaves alliances and betrayals seamlessly, making it impossible to predict the next turn of events. With enemies lurking around every corner, the stakes become personal, testing the limits of loyalty and survival.
The characters in ‘Deadly Ally’ are vividly crafted, each with unique motivations and flawed backgrounds. The depth of their relationships adds layers to the narrative, with each alliance proving to be both a strength and a vulnerability. As friendships are forged and tested, you will find yourself questioning who can truly be trusted in a world full of self-interest.
‘Deadly Ally’ is a worthy sequel that enhances the thrilling saga of ‘The Hitman.’ With its engaging storyline, complex characters, and non-stop action, it promises to captivate both fans of the first book and new readers alike. Prepare for a gripping adventure that leaves you eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series!
This is the second installment of The Hitman and the Heir series, and should be read in order. The story picks up right where it left off at the end of the last book, and continues Gabriel's and Dante's story. There is a lot for them to work out as there are still many secrets being kept. However, they find themselves drawn to each other despite the circumstances.
This book is fast paced, and leaves the reader hoping to see these guys get their happy ending, while at the same time wondering how it can possibly happen with everything that's going on! Gabriel is so funny and cheeky, even though he keeps getting under Dante's skin, he still manages to endear himself to him. And meanwhile, they're still looking for Uncle Dino, they're dealing with dangerous situations, and the heat and lust they feel for each other is starting to turn into something deeper.
I'm looking forward to the third and final part of this series! This book ends on a mild cliffhanger, but the cards have been shown and things are really heating up. I enjoyed the humour, the suspense, and the spice. I'm rooting for these two!
This is the next chapter of the Hitman and Heir series and it needs to be read in order.
It also ends on a cliffhanger, both for the story and the couple.
Gabe is continuing to be sassy, full of secrets, winding up Vinnie and Dante while carrying on with Dante on a more personal level. These three do crack me up, the book is brutal and funny at the same time. There is quite a lot of new discoveries now that Gabe is fully set up in Dante's family and both guys do start to realise that their arrangement is more than just that, they become allies and - oh god - develop feelings.
Nothing is as Gabe expected it to be, neither Dante, nor his dad, his actual target. Add Dante's mom into the mix, if you love Sophia in book one, you will love her too.
There is nothing stereotype here, each character is different to what you thought they may be, they are complex and with depth, and it definitely keeps you on your toes and stop you from putting the book down.
I am now waiting for book 3. I also want to know more about Vinnie and Gabe's friend Zach.
This is the second book in The Hitman and The Heir series. You should really read each one in order. This books ends on a cliff hanger. The story won't be complete until the next book. But you should first enjoy this book. The story continues with Gabe and Dante's relationship. Gabe still have his wise cracking and funny self. Winding up Vinnie, Dante's childhood friend and bodyguard, is one of Gabe's favourite things to do. There is lots of action with twists and turns along the way. Some of which I wasn't expecting so that makes it even better. The book is written well and is easy to read. I really enjoyed watching some of the mystery be solved while the overall problem still exists. We can only hope that Karma will come and take names in the next book in the series. I have a few names to add to that list. I enjoyed this book. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
After watching Gabriel push Dante's and Vinnie's buttons in Fatal Attendant, Gabe continues to wind both men up and it was just as funny as before. I love the dynamic between the three of them, with Dante wanting to take Gabe to bed while Vinnie just wants to take him out (and I don't mean on a date). After the wonderful Sofia in the first book, we meet Dante's parents and they're equally amazing. An Italian mama and a mafia Don, they both made an impression and I loved them both. The plotline involving Dante's uncle continues though it doesn't advance too much, but Gabe's reason for getting close to Dante takes up more page time. I looking forward to finding out what is in store for both the lovebirds and the villains. I also need Vinnie's love story with Gabe's best friend, Zach.
Deadly Ally is the second book of The Hitman and the Heir series.
It starts where the first one ends, so it's going to be difficult to review it without spoilers, but I'll try.
One of the things I liked the most is seeing how the relationship between Gabriel and Dante deepens, to the point where it seems like they're falling in love with each other, because Dante is super possessive and Gabriel likes to provoke him. I like how they complement each other when facing potential enemies; here you can see greater rapport and trust between the two.
We meet Mama and Papa Montelli.
I can't wait to read the third book, because it ends on a cliffhanger.
+I want to thank the authors for the Arc Copy. This is my voluntary and honest opinion+
This second part of a series gives some more depth to the characters, as the bigger plot lines are not meant to be solved until the third part. Gabe is still his sassy and humorous self, but at the same time proving to be far more vulnerable than he would ever have thought himself to be. This book was a lot more serious than the first, with some new unexpected plot twists and ending in a cliffhanger towards part three, although not a painful one.
This is the second book in the Hitman and the Heir the first being Fatal Attendant. This is the lives of Gabriel and Dante both assassins one for his mafia family the other trained by his father. There are so many hidden secrets yet to be uncovered. The first book kept me at the edge of my seat, and this one did the same. There are plot twists and a very fast paced story ending in a cliffhanger. Impatiently awaiting the final book in this series.
This is book 2 in the series and ends on oh so many cliffhangers. Gabe, Dante, and Vinnie will keep you on your toes, guessing as to what's going to happen next. It seemed like every page turned the story in a direction that I had not expected. Unfortunately I hadn't read the first book but I think I understand this one but then again I'll turn the page and have it all wrong in my head.
Gabriel, Dante, and Vinnie are back, and the stakes are even higher. There's too many people involved, and they have to determine who's friend and who's foe. Lots of danger, mystery, and betryals. I really enjoyed the lighthearted moments between the characters to break up the heavy tone.
