This was a quick light read containing two short romance Christmas stories. The first featured K.O. (Katherine) who hates a man who wrote a parenting book that her sister is following with her twin daughters. His advice is awful and when she finds out he lives in her building she has it out with him. However they are both attracted to each other and agree to go on a date that her neighbor sets up for them. Sparks fly as they try to overcome their differences.
The second story has two strangers forced to share a car to get home for Christmas. The man however is already engaged so they try to deny their feelings for each other. I'm sure you can guess where this story is headed.
I honestly didn't love either story. Yes they were predictable but I expected that in a cozy book like this. I just didn't really connect with any of the characters. I also hated that in both books, both of the women were obsessed with their weight and neither of them had a weight problem. Part of my problem could have been that the stories were so short. I have never read a book by this author before so it could just be these particular stories.

If possible I would give this 3 and 1/2 stars. The writing isn’t amazing and the story lines are a bit simplistic but they are also very sweet and perfect for this time of year. After all they are both set at Christmas time and they both have that romantic and magical feel to them. Enjoyable.

loses a star because the main character has an obvious eating disorder that was just never acknowledged as unhealthy by any other character..like there was a whole chapter about how she was brushing her teeth as a distraction for how hungry she was and how she starved herself all day and ran four miles because she gained two pounds

📚🎅🎄NOVEL THOUGHTS❄🤶📚
This is a charming Christmas aka Hallmark themed doubled up novella (two in one book). set of stories. There is nothing overly out of the ordinary for these Macomber stories but they are both female forward with each of her protagonists single and finding the love of her life in the most unusual of circumstances. In book one, our heroine Katherine finds a child psychologist right under her nose who grew up with parents of the Hippie generation who has written a book called The Free Child. In it, he says children should be left to their own devices and they should be given a very long leash, making their own personal rules based on their needs in the immediate moment. Katherine's sister has discovered this book and decides to follow his template to raise her twins. After Katherine and Wynn Jeffries have been together for a spell, he joins her to babysit her nieces. Not having his own children even though he wrote this book about how children should be raised, he has an eye opening experience. Meantime, Wynn's father has come to visit for Christmas and Katherine thinks he needs to meet her neighbor friend LaVonne, whose sole companions are 3 dogs. LaVonne fancies herself with psychic powers and believes she saw Katherine's future in her bowl of raisin bran! After a rough start for both couples, will love conquer all?? Well it is a Hallmark themed book afterall!
The second book features Shelly who is returning for the holiday to Seattle to see her family but the flight is rough and rocky and she isn't that comfortable especially when the captain gets on the PA to announce Seattle is socked in and they can't land. Shelly is petrified and can't understand how the handsome man sitting across the aisle from her leafing through his briefcase could be so calm! Once they end up landing prematurely in Portland, Shelly decides she will fly no longer and take a car to her family's home but so did ever other passenger decide to drive the rest of the way too and there is only one car left. The handsome man from the plane, Slade, has the same idea and they decide to share the remaining car. Conversations about their personal lives fills the space between them and Shelly learns his fiancée is overly pragmatic about their relationship and has set some big financial goals before they get married. Slade learns quickly that Shelly is a spontaneous person looking for fun and silly moments. As they approach Seattle and the farm Shelly's family lives on, it is clear that driving onto the city is not safe and so Slade accepts the invitation to spend the night as the snow continues to fall. Slade is mesmerized by Shelly's impromptu nature and Shelly by now is very infatuated by Slade... even Shelly's dad can see the temps rising in the room between them. And of course it's a Hallmark movie in book form so you can predict the ending even as Slade leaves quietly the following morning.
My one big ding is that in both books, the author has made the main female characters weight conscious, concerned about eating too much, the 2 lbs gained must be run off, the extra calories a fat trigger. That was SO unnecessary!

✍ In 'Christmas Letters,' Katherine(K.O.) has a seasonal gig writing Christmas letters for folks who are in a hurry to get their cards in the mail. Where they are feeling lacklustre about their lives, K.O. adds the bling. We all have a love/hate relationship with those Christmas letters. They are a bit like social media posts. It was quite humorous to see how K.O. could work her magic.
👭 There are cute little twins in 'Christmas Letters' who have been allowed to run amuck. Their antics are adorable -- from afar. The debate over child-rearing that rages between K.O. and Dr. Wynn Jeffries is entertaining and one so many of us have engaged in IRL. Will one of them capitulate? Will they agree to disagree?

This book has two short stories based around Christmas time.
The first story was kind of zany, mostly frustrating, enemies to lovers. I wasn’t pulled in because I felt like the main female character kept being too out there and mean to the antagonist. It also read like a book written in the early 2000’s (which it was) and some of it came across too dated. It also wasn’t very Christmasy in general and was a little problematic.
The second story is the reason my rating wasn’t lower. It was definitely a Hallmark style whirlwind romance and there were a couple things I didn’t like, but it was cute and Christmasy. A woman and a man need to get home for Christmas and the snowstorm is preventing flights from taking off, so of course they need to drive home in the last rental car together. Will they fall in love? Who knows!

Christmas Letters ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really adored this couple. They were sweet and a little feisty and just perfect for each other. The way they met and got together was pretty funny too.
I could’ve done without all the calorie counting by the main character though. That didn’t seem necessary for anything, let alone the plot. Oh well. 🤷🏼♀️

The chemistry between these two was off the charts. Too bad he fell for her while . Not a fan of that plot point at all. If you can get past that though, this was a very charming story of two people stuck in a snowstorm who fall in love. 💕

I've been a fan of Debbie Macomber's Christmas stories. So, I didn't mind re-reading this collection. Although there's a bit of predictability, I'm easily drawn in and enjoy the sweet meets, adventures, and romances taking place around Christmas. I especially enjoyed "Christmas Letters" with its quirky match-making neighbor who helps to bring the couple together. The notion of opposites attract figures into each of the two stories, but there are twists and turns which add interest, and a heart-warming ending.

This will be my first actual reading challenge attempt, and I'm so excited and i'm anticipating the best from her. I'll be reading 4 of her books for starters, so this should be interesting in terms of ratings but I'm so down for it.

I loved both stories: cozy and romantic vibes. One of my favorite holiday-based Debbie Macomber books thus far. A special nostalgic moment for me in "Let It Snow"... using my childhood hometown in the story made it even more enjoyable. Smiles and warm thoughts. A great holiday read!

Very good. However it took a while because of Christmas approaching between decorating indoors and outdoors and baking and cleaning, too exhausted to read for a good amount of time. All done with everything I can now enjoy reading. I highly recommend this book. Debbie MaComber never fails

this was an excellent read. It is a two stories in one book. Both are about finding love when you least expect it and how the unexpected may be the best thing to happen to you. The first story is Christmas letters and the second is Let it Snow.
