Experience is a brutal teacher.

At fifteen, I was tossed into the human foster care system. Packless and alone, I survived by learning how to blend in, how to go unnoticed…and how to steal money from those who won’t miss it.

A shifter-owned casino, however, is not the best place to employ that last lesson.

Caught cheating and tossed into an illegal underground fight, my human best friend and I are forced face off with the Vegas Alpha’s champion, a hulking alpha wolf who’s ripped apart countless other shifters. But instead of a killer’s bloodlust, all I see lurking in the wolf’s eyes is misery.

And my fated mate.

After managing to fight our way out, we make our way halfway across the country to my new mate’s former pack. Unfortunately, the situation there isn’t anything like Blake remembers and the people in charge don’t look kindly on his bloody history—or my own.

To prevent the mistakes of our past from destroying our future, we need to prove my mate can control his wolf well enough to lead his pack and bring down the Vegas Alpha once and for all.

Feral Wolf is an MM fated mates romance set in world where mpreg is possible. It features a wary omega who doesn't trust fate and the half-feral alpha who becomes his destiny. This book can be read as a standalone, but it’s best enjoyed as part of the Exiled Omegas series.

I loved this book. It's a shifter romance in an omegaverse world that was very entertaining and romantic, and full of action.
Neil was an omega surviving the best he could and doing some gigs with his best friend that were not very legal. Living in Vegas can be hard. He wasn't affiliated with a pack and he was fine with that. Blake was a prisoner, an alpha sold by his former pack and thrown into fighting for his life for the entertainment of others. It was brutal, bloody and so hard to read in some moments.
They met in unexpected circumstances and Blake was supposed to fight Neil to death, but fate had other plans as they discovered they were fated mates. From then on, this book was so good that it got me hooked and I just couldn't put it down. There was a scape, a werewolf that had forgotten how to turn back into human form and an omega willing to do everything he could to save his alpha.
The MCs in this book were wonderful, Neil being the omega and Blake the alpha. I loved that in this story the rescuer was the omega and the alpha was a lost soul. It broke my heart how much Blake had suffered but Neil was a balm for his wounded soul.
I'm loving this series so far and this book was just as good as the previous ones. A beautiful romance, with a very interesting plot and lovable characters.

My first time reading an OV with a feral but man am I glad that Neil found Blake. They are the perfect fated mates and I’m glad that Blake got revenge on Doyle. This book was really good and I loved the whole OV aspect.

Yes! Sweet Ollie finally gets his brother back! And I managed to score an ARC!

Ahem. Sorry. After Neil and his human friend Raquel are caught cheating at a casino, they find themselves thrown into the seedy underground world of shifter fighting - the world where Ollie's brother Blake is trapped in his wolf form and forced to kill. It is described depressingly well, both Blake's despair and the punters' thirst for blood, but at least we now know where Blake has been all this time.

The three of them join forces and manage to fight their way out of there. After a pitstop with an old friend of Neil's mom, they now have to drive a thousand miles across the country to find Blake's old pack to look for his baby brother. The pack that may or may not still be run by the monsters who sold Blake in the first place. And Doyle the casino owner might be after them too.

Details that I really liked: First, there's no insta-fuck despite the men being fated mates. They're sleeping and cuddling together for several nights while on the run, trying to connect after all that's happened, but nothing more.

And second, Raquel is not just some weeping maiden. She was trapped in an abusive relationship in the beginning, sure, but we understand why. She's assertive, but not in the usual cool/mean girl way that female friends are often portrayed as. She's clever and . Not bad for a sidekick!

Things that are sad:
Too short, waah! The first book spoiled me with 400+ pages of nonstop action and drama, so it felt like this one ended much too soon.

Neil had been isolated and mostly alone most of his life except for his Best friend who is consistently by his side (she’s a hoot). His life wasn’t perfect but one awful night changed his life and he became a wolf without a pack. Now he and his best friend are having to go to drastic measures just to survive and end up in a situation that puts them both in more trouble than they realize.
Blake has been held captive and forced to fight for a very long time and he has decided his next fight would be his final fight, he was tired, alone, and broken hearted. But then the unexpected happens in his final fight and now he’s ready to fight to survive.
These three work together to get out of the fighting ring, they fight tooth and nail to survive until the very end. Just when they think it’s done and there’s no hope an unexpected ally shows up and once again there’s a small spark of hope. This book had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end and it was worth every minute. The ending was emotional and beautiful in its own way, I truly hope we see more of these two in future books. ❤️😁

This was great, beginning to end. I love when a story tips things on its side and in this case, it was the omega rescuing the alpha (sort of. I mean, let's be real, they rescue each other). Blake had me curious since Ollie first remembered him in Lost Wolf, and I was so pleased to read about him more in-depth. Raquel was the best sidekick/best friend I could have asked for for Neil. I love that her story was taken into consideration and she wasn't just a convenient filler.

I will say that I wish we could have gotten more at the end. Maybe there will be another book? I don't know. But I'd love to know what becomes of Blake's pack--maybe we'll get a Taylor novella? Look, I just really enjoyed this series and want more, okay?

If you're looking for engaging omegaverse shifter romance, this is where you want to be.

Fated mates, romantic suspense, on the run, captive alpha, wolf-shifters omegaverse world. Mpreg is possible. This is book 3 of a series and can be read on its own, but you’ll have more context if you’ve read book 2 (featuring MC Blake’s little brother).

I enjoyed book 1 in the series a lot. Feral Wolf wasn’t quite at that level; there’s something lacking in character development. Neither MC felt fully realized, fully emotional. MC Neil, the omega, has more definition, but less emotional gravitas. He was kind of an opportunist, and I didn’t sympathize with his motives for cheating (at gambling, not sexually! None of that, totally safe read for me!). MC Blake seemed more nebulous, but I instinctively liked him more, this alpha who was sold into slavery as forced into a Vegas fighting ring for years, kept in wolf form until he has nearly given up and turned fully feral. He was so sad, heartbroken, had lost hope, and I wanted to kill everyone who’d abused him all that time.

Neil and Blake meet under dire circumstances; Neil’s been caught cheating at I think roulette with his human best friend Raquel, and is thrust into the illegal underground fighting ring with wolf-form Blake and two beta shifters (and Raquel!), to fight to the death. Las Vegas alpha Doyle is the baddie who bought Blake illegally years ago and has forced him to fight in wolf form all this time.

I appreciated some of the fated mates element. Their eyes meet, and their wolves Know. Blake suddenly has something to fight for. Neil is making it up as he goes, but together with Raquel, they get out, go on the run, and have a goal: go back to Blake’s original pack territory and find out what happened to Blake’s brother the day they were both captured and sold off by their evil former pack alpha.

Naturally things go wrong…

I enjoyed the story, but it felt…underdeveloped emotionally. Neil constantly had a foot out the door on the fated mates thing, thinking things such as, oh, if the pack won’t accept my bestie Raquel, I can’t stay with Blake, too bad. And similar signs of just not being quite as into it? I want my fated mates truly feral, unable to function apart, and Neil I think could have walked away. He stayed more invested in Raquel/their friendship, and while on the one hand, loyalty is heroic, something about it was just…off. Blake had the “this is My Mate” sense, and Neil kind of did, but, was practical about it to the point of undercutting the romance. And he seemed like he was making excuses for not going anywhere in life, rather than being a survivor of his circumstances?

I also was unimpressed with his reasoning for getting them into the bad situation in the first place. He kept saying, oh, I can’t tell Raquel why we shouldn’t do this and that, go to this casino, go to that particular table for our scam, because I can’t say anything about shifters/explain, even though he knew going there was jeopardizing them both. He could have easily said he knew one of the guys and had to stay away from him…it just wasn’t heroic in the moment.

Blake was so sweet, confused and in need of bonding, he hadn’t been allowed to be in human form in YEARS and being near Neil finally got him to shift back in his sleep. He was rusty in all ways, but dedicated and loving and just…needed his mate. Him I liked. And I loved their snuggling together in bed.

Raquel is a strong woman, I liked her, but, Neil honestly felt more attached to her than Blake and would have left Blake to support her. I don’t know, it was honorable, but not…what I needed. There shouldn’t have had to be a question of a choice. Or something. And overall, despite her dramatic circumstances, Raquel’s personality was…bland.

Neil and Blake were also a bit too responsible and able to resist the call to bond. They had good chemistry, but…I don’t know I wanted them to be more feral, less able to make reasonable decisions in the moment. They were too…practical. Logical. Even when experiencing the mating draw. You know when a mating/claiming bite happens too late? When it’s in. Seriously. If it’s that easy to resist…? Why am I here? And the condom moment at the end…umm. I don’t know. I wanted more of the Feral and less of the Good Decisions.

I appreciated how it all turned out, but, the antagonist Doyle needed shouldn’t have been conquered so fast. That man deserved TORTURE.

Shout-out to unsung hero Paul! This SC stepped up in the moment at the right time. Taylor too! Solomon kind of let me down. I think he would have put Blake down without hearing full context, and it was too close to be a triumph. Too reliant on Neil being there to speak up. I wasn’t confident in the outcome.

Hmm.

Overall, I did enjoy reading the story! It just wasn’t as layered and emotional as the first two books. The Raquel-Neil friendship detracted from Neil and Blake, and I didn’t feel I knew anyone very well. Still, it was fun. And I was so glad for the important reunion at the end.

HEA, Fated mates, wolf shifters, omegaverse. Captive alpha. Some danger/suspense. NO others, cheating, OM drama, safe for me. Recommended for people following the series.

it’s ok

I love Tessa kanes books but I wasn’t a big fan of this one. I love all the jokes and storyline but I felt like this book could’ve been written in 2 books. To end it like this really makes me and some readers mad. We spent 50% of the book with Neil, Blake, and raquel escaping vegas. I don’t mind that but there was literally zero character development in this whole book. Neil and Blake are still strangers to one another. While Blake still feels his feral side we get no other depth to him and we don’t really know his age. We like Neil personality but there wasn’t much to go off on his love with Blake and we didn’t really get any moment of them alone till like 70% of the book and the epilogue was a quick sum of it. I wanted to see Blake overcome his trauma and his feral side. I wanted to read the moment Neil fell in love with Blake and not just based on some fated mates. While that’s nice I need to read what really makes them work? What do each one have to offer to the other to complete one another? Both character were surface level and didn’t have strong depth to them making them bland.

Blake does not act like someone who’s been in captivity for years since he was young. He would have ptsd and nightmares or things that trigger him, which he doesn’t for some weird reasons. Then with Neil not having a pack can really affect his connection issues and growing up in foster homes can really impact his trust with others and insecurities. Which is probably why he would only trust raquel.

In the end I just wanted it longer to really give readers what they want and that’s to imagine if these people were real and you could relate to them in some kind of way.

Neil knows the moment he enters the casino with his best friend, they are in trouble. A shifter casino means putting himself on their radar when he is trying to hide with his human best friend. But desperate times call for desperate measures, so they take a risk…just to be caught. Now he needs to survive an underground illegal fight with other shifters, but in this mess there is one surprise. There is an Alpha in the fight who turns out to be his fated mate. Blake is tired. He has been at the mercy of the Vegas Alpha for years. He was captured, sold, and forced to fight. A collar keeps him in line and he hasn’t shifted to his human side in a long time. His dream of finding his brother again is just about dead. He is ready to finally stop fighting…until he sees his mate in the arena. He might be near feral but he recognizes his mate and he’ll fight for him. Luckily, Blake and Neil, and Neil’s best friend, Raquel, escape. On the run, they have to figure out how to stay out of the Vegas Alpha’s reach and find a safe place to go. And Neil and Blake must navigate this new bond between them. Another good story in this series! I’m glad we got Blake’s story after learning about his brother, Ollie, in the previous book. And I really loved Neil and Blake. They are exactly what one another needed. Especially when they were hitting their lowest. They definitely deserved some happiness after all they’ve been through! It’s an interesting world to read about and I’m looking forward to hopefully reading more!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first book by Tessa Kane and I absolutely loved it. Neil and Blake’s story is heart breaking and very well written. Neil and Blake both have been through a lot in different ways and definitely deserve a good and peaceful life. Neil is sassy, loyal, caring and loving with a little bit of illegal habits to survive the bad hand dealt to him. Blake on the other is quiet and comes off as aggressive and feral at first but being with Neil clams and soothes him and brings out his caring and protective nature. Neil and Blake’s first encounter happens in the worst way possible and when they realize that they are fated mates, they put combine efforts to get out off the sticky situation. While they are on run, they are meet with other difficult situations but they fight all of that together until they have to face the bane of their existence. Things get very complicated and tense before everything settles and Neil and Blake finally find a place to settle and live a life they both absolutely deserve. This story includes a lot of emotional and sweet moments, heartbreaking past, amazing friendship and lot of action. I enjoyed this book and will recommend it if you enjoy any of the above mentioned tropes.

Fated mates meeting in awful circumstances

After Lost Wolf, I knew Blake's story would be heartbreaking and it definitely was. Sold by his Pack Alpha Mate, Wanda, to an Alpha who kept him chained and subdued, forced to fight other shifters in an illegal fighting ring, he's lost all hope. Cue Neil being caught by that same Alpha and shoved into the ring when Blake is just... done.
I liked Neil and his best friend, Raquel. Their friendship kept them both going when times were rough and their bond was unbreakable. Blake was obviously alone but suddenly he had a fated mate, a new friend, and his freedom. Together, the three of them got out of trouble only to find it again very soon.
I loved Blake. He was wonderful, so happy to find his mate, just a big old teddy bear where Neil was concerned.
The fated mates thread almost took a back seat to everything else, and I would have loved a bit more emphasis on the two of them.
The villain of the piece got his just desserts but I wanted him to suffer even more, and I hope all those who were involved in the sale of shifters and the fighting ring also were punished.
The ending was good, with Blake's reunion with his brother Ollie bringing a smile to my face.
Three and a half stars.

Neil Cahill has not had the easiest life since the death of his parents. Dumped into the human foster care system, he learned nothing about being a werewolf except he knew to keep it secret. One good thing did happen. He met his best friend, Raquel. The two play games at the casinos where they have creative ways to cheat. Caught, Neil and Raquel wind up in an underground fighting arena facing off against the Alpha’s champion. There is one problem – the champion is his fated mate, Blake Shiflett. Blake is ready to give up when he realizes he has a reason for living.

This was a tense and very exciting addition to this series, Exiled Omegas. As the plot gradually unwinds, Blake, Neil and Raquel will need to use all their combined abilities if they are to succeed and successfully escape. That is not a sure thing as everywhere they turn, there is danger and someone willing to make a buck and turn them in. This is an excellent, thrilling series and I can’t wait for the next one.

3⭐ — didn’t hate it, just expected more from the follow-up

I really enjoyed the first book, but this instalment unfortunately fell a little flat for me and I’m not someone who usually leaves 3-star reviews.

The pacing felt uneven, with tension building only to be cut short or diluted, and the main characters lacked the depth and emotional pull I’d hoped for. We spent more time learning about Neil’s friend who appeared in nearly every scene — than we did about the actual couple and their connection.

The intimacy also missed the mark. I don’t need constant spice to enjoy a story, but with only one significant intimate scene, it felt rushed and crammed into the ending. And without giving spoilers, a certain “safe choices” made during that moment dulled what should’ve been the big, visceral “claiming” payoff this genre is known for. It just took away some of that primal, emotional punch I was waiting for.

I really loved this book. It was a beautiful and emotional hurt/comfort romance. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Neil and Blake. My heart broke for Blake and the way he'd given up in pain and anger and hopelessness. Tired and wanting to die to be free of their torture. Their first meeting was exciting and scary and tense, but they recognized what they were to each other and opted to trust. The fight to escape was suspenseful and action-packed. I loved the dynamic between them and the way their relationship developed. Blake was broken and at times scared or ashamed. But Neil was so soothing and sweet to him, and I loved him nicknaming Blake Wolfie. I also loved that Neil wasn't afraid to fight if he needed to and was protective of Raquel, his human friend. I liked the bond between them and their friendship as a wolf and a human. This story was a fast-paced journey and I was completely hooked. 5 stars

For Neil and Blake things are already precarious when they meet and they just up the ante. They find themselves the participants in an illegal fight - it felt like those underground cage fights - and not inclined to do damage to one another as they were just meeting and came to realize that they are fated mates. So they do what they have to do to fight their way out. Blake had been ready to pack it in but being with Neil gives him a reason to struggle his way forward. Their story before they met was sad and a bit heavy and things do not instantly get better but they are truly stronger together - along with Neil's best friend Rachel. I was anxious to see how they would make it and was so glad that they worked their way through the danger to a better place together.

This was my first Tessa Kane book and I have to say now I want to read the whole series. I started with book 3, as always... but this one made me curious enough to check all the other books and see what this is about.

I liked the book and the characters, it kept me glued to see what's gonna happen next, but there were also some plot wholes that made me a bit mad.

Most probably I will do a re-read after I read the first two books and see how I feel then when I am fully immersed into this world.

Overall I do recommend this book. Neil and Blake are interesting characters and their story is... well, you will have to check for yourself in order to avoid spoilers. Let's just say their lives were not easy, and they will need a long time to heal.

Neil and Raquel walk into a casino run by a wolf pack with a reputation for doing anything but playing fair and caught cheating. The moment they’re discovered and thrown into the fighting ring, their world tilts—one brutal twist alters the course of everyone’s future. Blake, worn down and ready to surrender to the darkness, steps into the cage expecting nothing but another fight… until he catches the scent of his mate. In that instant, everything changes. Strength, purpose, and desperation surge back into him.

From there, the story drags you through a wild and dangerous journey filled with new revelations and hard truths. Even as hope sparks between them, they’re not free yet. There’s a vicious battle still waiting for its reckoning—and surviving it may be the hardest fight of all.

Neil is a lone wolf, staying far away from all packs - but the Vegas pack in particular. But when a con goes wrong and he finds himself captured, his only way to save him and his human best friend is by fighting in the cage.

Blake has been fighting in the cages for years, a captive of the Vegas alpha. But he's done - he's ready to lose and leave this life. Until the wolf he's supposed to fight ends up being his fated mate.

You guys, if you love this series you will LOVE Blake's story. It's got insta-lust, a sweet love story, a plucky best friends, two MCs you want to see happy, and finally a reunion between brothers! I literally read this in one sitting, I couldn't put it down!

Lone Wolf, the first in this series, was amazingly good. It set such a high bar that I don't think it was possible for books 2 and 3 to meet it. But they are still really good. In book 2, Lost Wolf, Ollie's brother Blake is mentioned as having been sold to an illegal fighting ring, and book 3 picks up his story. He and Neil are great for each other, and I devoured the story in about a day. There's still lots of twists and turns as they have to fight for their happy ending. I really hope there is more in this series - we still need to find out what happened to Kier's Dad Ben for one thing!

Another series winner. I loved the friendship between Neil and Raquel (cheers to the author for writing such a wonderful secondary character) and later how Blake was brought into that. Blake reminded me a bit of Bane in The Dark Knight Rises at the end when you finally get a glimpse of his humanity. It was heartbreaking to see Blake reach a point where he just didn't care any more and then wonderful to see him realize what Neil was to him and what they could be together. Their struggle was long and painful both physically and emotionally but the ending was totally worth it.

Not enough stars!!! This is a brilliant addition to the other books in this series. It brings Blake into their own story. Blake was stolen and sold by Wanda and she was so evil, thank goodness she is already dead. Doyle, the Alpha of the Vegas pack is a low life scum and it took some pretty good maneuvering to get away but Neil, Blake and Rachel manage it, sort of. It's a really great story and it's suspenseful and eventually things work out well. I loved it!! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I've been waiting for this book my entire life! Okay, only like a year, but still....

I almost loved it more than Lost Wolf. I was so thrilled to get the arc, I stopped reading a different book just to dive into this one.

I loved everything about Niel and Blake. Adventure (and not the good kind) at every turn sure put these characters to the test of their faith to one another.

Now...to stalk this author some more to see what she has in store for us readers next!

This was an enjoyable story about Neil and Blake. Blake has been captive for many years and forced to fight in a ring for entertainment. Neil and his friend Raquel get caught cheating in a casino and are forced to fight as well. I’ve not read the other books and that may have hindered my enjoyment a little bit. There was so much going on, I would have loved a little more romance.

Intense! Neil and Blake follow unfortunate paths that led them to meet in the fight ring as opponents. Neils friend Raquel is along for the adventure. Their back stories grab your heart and squeeze forcing you to keep reading to find out if they come out on the other side as winners. This book is an amazing adventure that keeps your head in the game and keeps you totally invested in the outcome. Excellent story, well done! I received an ARC and am volutarily leaving a review.

Neil and Blake are both captives in an illegal fighting ring. Realizing they are mates makes things harder but they're determined to escape and stay together. They both have separate issues they're also dealing with. This was a good addition to the series. Good story. Nice characters. The chemistry was good but I wanted more romance. Definitely worth the read.

I enjoyed this book, as I've enjoyed the other books in the series. My only quibble is that the story moves from inciting incident to inciting incident without pause. It makes for a tense read and that's fun! but it would be good if there was more development of the actual relationship between the characters.

I enjoyed this book but it was also a little much. Like ok, the hot scenes are hot and some ideas are so new and mind blowing but ... it was like they couldn't get a breather. Bad luck after bad luck after bad luck. Like ... let them be for a moment! So yeah good story but hard on suspance.

As for Blake, what he went through was heartbreaking...
