Some debts can’t be buried. Some vendettas never die. After escaping the Mob’s deadly grip in New York, retired undercover cop Steve Regan and his son Marco vanish into the chaos of Bangkok. But their fresh start becomes a nightmare when Marco is nearly killed in a targeted attack.
It’s a message—from a new enemy with old grudges.
A violent splinter group of the Mob is hunting them, tied to a blood feud rooted in the death of Orn Regan—Steve’s late wife and a fellow undercover operative. As the past rises from the grave, Steve must dive back into a deadly underworld of traffickers, corrupt officials, and brutal enforcers.
With Bangkok as a deadly playground, father and son must uncover the truth behind Orn's murder—before they become the next victims of a vendetta written in blood.
Fans of Don Winslow, Lee Child, and true-to-life undercover thrillers won’t be able to put this down.
Stephen Bentley is an award-winning author. Of his Operation Julie true crime book, screenwriter and novelist, writer of 'Julie' BBC Drama, Rob Gittins, said, "The fascinating and extraordinary inside story from the man who was actually there.”
Of his later fiction works, British crime author, Pat MacDonald said, “I knew when I read the author’s first book although non-fiction that he could make the transition to writing fiction; I was right. He has an ease of language that lends itself to storytelling; he tells it as if he was there in the plot and why shouldn’t he having been an undercover cop in the real world? Not that Steve Regan is meant to be him, but having the experience means he can do whatever he wants with his fictional characters, and they will always be believable.”
Like some other authors, his life experience is broad and unconventional. He spent 30 years in the legal system, first as a detective for 15 years then as barrister plying his trade as “a wig for hire” in London and the English provinces. He was a pioneering undercover cop on Operation Julie and as a barrister defended in trials involving murder, rape, drug importation, other serious crimes and defended soldiers at courts-martial.
He worked in a warehouse. Rode a big motorbike as a London courier. He drove big articulated trucks and taught how to drive them. He also worked as a hospital porter twice. He drove chilled delivery vans in London in the 1990s to fund his law degree and bar school studies. He spent the last two years of his working life driving plant and operating heavy filtration machinery for Europe’s largest water company. His work mates soon recognised his advocacy skills and elected him as their shop steward.
He has now written over twenty books. Two of them have been optioned and in development; one as a TV drama series, and one as a drama doc.

His wife is a better person than him in all regards and is a source of support in his goal of entertaining readers. She has also made him a better person.
I absolutely love Stephen Bentley’s writing, and Bloodline Vendetta is another fantastic example of his talent. His attention to detail, especially when writing about Steve Ragan, Marco and the other characters, makes them feel so real that you’re pulled right into their world.
This book is packed with tension, action, and emotion. Steve Regan and his son Marco’s fight for survival in Bangkok is gripping from start to finish, with Bentley’s vivid storytelling making every scene come alive. A brilliant addition to the series and proof again why Bentley is one of my favourite authors. Thank you to Stephen Bentley for giving me a free advance copy of the book to preview and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Ghosts appear from Steve’s past, ghosts he hoped he wouldn’t see again, but they give him a chance to settle a huge score, the most important in his life. If you like your revenge served cold, then this is for you. Brilliantly written and set in the heat of Bangkok, I could taste, smell and feel everything due to the descriptive writing of the author. I felt as if I was there with them.
The Ghosts are incredibly viscous and the turmoil in Bangkok adds to the edge of fear you will feel. But are they too much for an ex cop trying to settle quietly and disappear from his past? I won’t spoil the plot but this will be one of the best books you will read this year!
A hard hitting, action packed, gripping story that had me on the edge of my seat from cover to cover. Finally, the mystery of Orn's death comes to light as her husband, Steve, and son, Marco, face cruel forces. An unsuspected player in the big game comes as a devastating shock for Steve. This is a credible mystery that is well written.
I read this book as part of an advance reader team. I am voluntarily writing this review.
This story started exciting with a kidnapping and the terror and danger didn't end there. This had a dose of danger in every dark corner as you went along. The vendetta was worth the chase that you were taken through. The book had so many wonderfully developed characters that guided you all the way to the end. Great book!
An excellent continuance in the series as Steve and his son try to move on from the loss of his mother. There is plenty of action and some surprises in store for the pair. Well recommended for those who enjoy a well-rounded story with the likelihood of a continuation.
Another gripping thriller by Stephen Bentley. This story was fast-paced and kept me turning pages as quickly as possible. I enjoyed the characters, which were well developed and ifound myself caring about them.
Bloodline Vendetta is an Excellent story about Steve Regan and his son Marco and how they work efficiently together. The story is full of action and tension that grips you. I read story in one sitting and could not put book down. Superb story and series that I highly recommend that you read.
Bloodline Vendetta is the fifth book in the Steve Regan Undercover Cop Thrillers. This book follows Steve Regan and his son to Bangkok in an action-packed and gripping story of danger and corruption. I can't wait for the next book in this amazing series.
So, book five in the series and it’s a little cracker just like the others. This is a fascinating story, and I was hooked from the beginning to the end. I loved it. This author can’t half write a good thriller that’s for sure. Highly recommended.
Bloodline Vendetta, my twenty-second read from author Stephen Bentley, an action-packed pulp thriller in many ways reminiscient of Don Pendleton's Executioner series. “I received a complementary Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author with The Final Betrayal: A Steve Regan Undercover Cop Thriller Book 6 due out in March of next year. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Deep in the heart of Bangkok they’re no safer and this for is depraver .Outrunning a blood feud that has ties with the one who has them joined in their grief , this excellently penned story is both heart pounding and heartbreaking and on the edge of your seat rooting for them to outrun the foe they don’t even know . Retired detective Steve Regan and his son Marco leave New York and now live in Bangkok. They face old foes after Marco is viciously attacked and beaten. Together they set out to seek justice for Marco’s attack and the murder of Steve’s wife, Orn. They work together with help from an allies seeking information leading to the whereabouts of the villains.
While on their mission they must provide protection for girls in the dormitory started by Orn after villains shoot up the school.
The quest for justice is definitely worth taking the time to read. I would definitely recommend reading this book to my family, friends, and anyone asking for a mystery to read.
Steve Regan and his son Marco are fighting demons from their past, can they survive and avenge the memory of Orn? A gripping read in this series of books and I can't wait for the next installment.
The action follows retired undercover cop Steve Regan and his son Marco from New York to Bangkok. The chaos they tired to escape from follows them here too. A fast-pace, suspense thriller that has you on the edge of your seat. I received this ARC copy and review voluntarily, and recommend this book to other readers.
Gory revenge thriller. Steven Regan and his son Marco are back in Bangkok after narrowly escaping the Mob in New York . They live quietly, running an orphanage that was set up by Steve's late wife, Orn. They are very security conscious, but despite this, Marco is nearly killed in an attack. It was by splinter group with a grudge that was tied to Orn's death. This is a fast-moving moving, high tension story that barely allows the reader to pause for breath, let alone Steve and Marco. As ever with this author, there is a high level of both violence and body count. it's well written and the ending suggests that there could be more to come in this series.
Regan will always have that special place in my heart and mind. I will never have enough of this series. Retired and trying to live the quiet life with his son. Someone is about to shatter the silence and Regan is forced yet again to take action. Brilliant as per usual, Regan is the best.
