The ending scene, where Prof. J (Abdul Jabeel) walks in for his lecture ohmygod.
Maseel is the sequel to Sulphite. While Sulphite revolved around Rohan (Ruhhan) Jabeel and Hanan, Maseel focuses largely on the next generation, especially Haad Jabeel, Umm-e-Emaan (Emaan), Adham, Abdul, and the mysterious character Maseel. The novel combines romance, spirituality, emotional trauma, philosophy, and redemption.
The Jabeel Legacy
The story begins years after the events of Sulphite. Haad Jabeel grows up carrying the legacy of the Jabeel family. Everyone sees him as the son of a legendary man, but Haad struggles with his own identity and burdens. He is admired by many, yet internally he feels the pressure of living up to expectations. When I finished Sulphite, I thought nothing could touch me the way Rohan Jabeel's story did. Then Noor Rajpoot wrote Maseel — and gave us his son.
Haad Jabeel carries his father's name, his faith, and somehow an even heavier burden. And Umm e Eman — a girl her own family considered bad luck — is written so beautifully that you feel every single wound she carries without a single word being wasted.
Their chemistry is not loud. It's not dramatic. It's the kind that quietly builds until one day you realize you've been holding your breath for chapters. And when the emotional breakdown scene hits — it hits. I cried. Genuinely, properly cried. Because Noor Rajpoot doesn't write pain to entertain you. She writes it to make you feel seen.
And then there's Maseel. The villain you're not supposed to love but absolutely do. His arrogance is written so well that you're frustrated and fascinated at the same time. He thinks too highly of himself — and somehow that makes him the most human character in the room.
Abdal Jabeel deserves his own novel. I said what I said. 😭
This sequel doesn't just continue Sulphite — it honors it. Noor Rajpoot has grown as a writer and it shows on every page.

Ofc he is my fav.
And then, Abdul❤️💜
Haad just hits different. Everything he does. And just like… he is the standard.
Umme Eiman is so luckyy.
The only reason it’s not a 5 is that I just didn’t like the way RJ disappeared in this book. Like it impacted Sulphite and I luvv Sulphite. And the way Hanam was alone after that. So what was the point of their happy ending. She had to live years without him.
I just didn’t like the way it displayed the characters of Sulphite. Also, Maheen Hamdan. The way she wrote that Adham was like that cause of her. I mean I do actually realise that it can happen and stuff but I luvv her from Sulphite so I think that she shouldn’t have done that to those characters. It wasn’t justified for them.
Other than that, this book is a MASTERPIECE.

Also, the modern age Islam.

Maseel by Noor Rajput is a novel that explores themes of healing, spirituality, heartbreak, and survival. It is the second part of the popular novel “Sulphite” by the same author.
I liked the story, but it felt a bit slow paced for me. Also, I think it was overly dragged at some points. So, it's a 3 star read for me.

July 21, 2026In the starting I was thought the story is revolving around in three characters emaan ,adham and abdul and emaan will end up with Abdul but after reading middle of novel I have realized it was not in the way.....the emaan should be with Abdul🥺....i just in love with Abdul characters ,but haad got the emaan not abdul .....this was heart wrenching for me💔
