Part of the Heroes of the Faith series, I found this book filled with great information about Luther. It was especially fascinating to match his life with the times and who was alive then. When he walked the over 800 miles from Germany to Rome, (yes, walked!), both Leonardo DaVinci and Michelangelo were painting in Italy. The state of the church in Rome appalled him and led him to the life he was called to, for sure. I felt the author provided a great analysis of Luther, his personal life, the effect Scripture had on his theology, and the legacy his work left to our world.
