The author makes it clear in the foreword: if you came looking for plot, you’re in the wrong place. Fair warning given. Still, I found myself wishing there was at least some narrative thread anchoring the experience, even for what is essentially a one-chapter erotic scene.
The premise is simple: husband tells wife (neither character is named) to go downstairs to the hotel bar, pick up a stranger, and bring him back for sex. The heat is definitely there, and readers who enjoy pure erotic setups will likely find plenty to like.
Where the story lost me a bit was in the tone shift. The stranger’s language leans heavily into debasing territory, which fits the BDSM dynamic and the d/s expectations of the scene, but it pushed the emotional connection further away rather than deepening it. If you’re looking for a super short story that is literally spice from start to finish this is the book for you! We pick up with our FMC who we met in butterfly who’s been left instructions from her husband to pick someone up in the bar and take him back to her room. That’s the story. We actually also meet the husband in this one too! I’d love to know more about him!! Really enjoyed this and is perfect for when you’re in between books or on a lunch break. However do not read this at work!!

Short and spicy. Sometimes just what you need. The scene from the wife's perspective is written in a way that it seems to come straight from the moment. No fluff or fanfare the writing is direct and urgent just as you would imagine her thoughts. I also enjoyed the subtle imperfections, the simple character quirks were a great touch.
