"I help people think through the two greatest institutions God has provided — the church and the family. I desire to learn what is pleasing to the Lord and to work for their continuous reformation according to Scripture." -Scott Brown
This is a biblical theology book on clothing and why it is important for Christians to think about what they wear and how they dress. Very interesting and I am glad I read this short book. Very highly recommended!
This is a great introduction to what the Bible says about modesty. Pairs well with Jeff Pollard’s book on immodesty as Pollard focuses on how culture and history have blinded us to the Bible’s teachings on modesty.
A helpful book on the theology of clothing for the Christian. I appreciated the biblical emphasis that “modestly is a posture of humility” and begins in the heart while still not ignoring that there are practical implications to our dress. A humble heart should result in something, actually. I also appreciated that Scott Brown took a look at modesty for both men and women and didn’t only make note to how *much* or how *little* is okay to wear, but he brought up things like, how much attention are you seeking? Are you neglecting dress and wearing rags? Is your clothing distracting? Does it communicate things (in words or image) that are anti biblical? I recommend!
