James Turrell A Life in Light

Rate this book
Since the late sixties, American artist James Turrell (born 1943 in Los Angeles) has devoted much of his work to the depiction and study of light, natural and artificial, and space. Influenced by his early studies in psychology, Turrell explores the effect light and space have on perception and spatial understanding. Through meticulously designed ethereal installations, Turrell manipulates the viewer's senses and creates shapes that seem to have mass and weight, though they are solely made of light.
