Do you want to learn a lot about something you thought you knew a lot about, but really don't? Then this is a book for you! The world before WWII was not a black-and-white world, where USA and UK were the good guys, and the rest were evil. Not at all. The strong argument can be made that the USA and UK actually pushed the Japanese and German, not to mention Italy and others, to the brink of war, until, in the words of FDR, "the question is how we should maneuver them [the Japanese] into the position of firing the first shot without allowing too much danger to ourselves."
No wonder then that he ignored all warnings about the approaching Japanese attach on Pearl Harbour?
This book opens eyes, surprises, and is well written.
