Code Red Chemistry is Book 2 of The Heat of the Moment series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, girl gets her brother's best friend second-chance, firefighter romance. Zoe is a smart and sassy physician who just passed her boards. Levi is a hunky firefighter and her older brother, Alex's,best friend. The two shared a hot night at her brother's wedding 5 years ago, but he acted like it meant nothing the next day and has avoided her ever since. They run into each at a bar while she is celebrating passing her boards, and she put him in his place, only to win him at a charity bachelor auction a few days later, hoping to get him out of her system. But Alex is playing for keeps this time. Will she let him back in? The chemistry between these two was hot 🔥 hot 🔥 hot 🔥 and the ending was so happy after a little drama. She made him work for a chance with him, lol. I loved it so much and can't wait for more books in this series!.

Great brothers best friend falling hard for the little sister but hiding it. Levi has loved his friend’s sister Zoe for a long time but has felt he isn’t good enough. Five years ago at her brothers wedding Zoe and Levi hook up he decides the best way to tackle what happened is to ignore Zoe and pretend it meant nothing. Now a doctor Zoe and Levi meet again and the sparks fly!

Levi Reyes has been best friends with Alex Meyer since the seventh grade. Levi is a firefighter.

Zoe Meyer is Alex’s younger sister. She just passed her boards and is now a board-certified physician. Alex and his wife Kristina are having a celebration dinner for Zoe. Alex invites Levi and complains that Levi has to come because he hasn’t seen Zoe since Alex’s wedding over five years ago.

Levi and Zoe had an encounter in the coat closet at Alex and Kristina’s wedding. Levi freaked out because he is in love with Zoe. He has not been to a family dinner since then.

Zoe and the others in her group who all passed their boards are celebrating at The Flatiron, a neighborhood bar in Soho right around the corner from the hospital. Just as Zoe and her best friend Libby are clinking glasses, in walks four hot firemen. One of them is Levi. One of the others is Brock, Libby’s boyfriend. Levi screwed up at the brunch the morning after the wedding and now screw up again with Zoe at the bar. Levi is determined to apologize and fix things with Zoe before the dinner at Alex’s house.

The sparks between these two were definitely cause for a code red. I enjoyed the story and can’t wait to read more from the series.

Hot and steamy in a coat closet

Code Red Chemistry is the second book in The Heat of the Moment series. This series is about the firefighters in a house that find their love in unexpected ways. Zoe Meyer has just passed her boards and is now a Doctor in NYC. Levi Reyes is a NYFD firefighter on Ladder 24. They know each other because she is the younger sister of Alex, who is Levi's best friend since they were kids. It all started five years ago at Alex and Kristina's wedding when there was some flirting, some champagne and a hot and steamy night in a coat closet. But the next morning Levi basically ignored Zoe, she got upset, and they have not seen each other since. That is about to change when they run into each other again and things will get hot and steamy between them. Will Levi prove that he is worthy of love and Zoe or will he run away like a five alarm fire this time around? The other issue is what will Alex do when he finds out?

Code Red Chemistry is a delightful brother’s best friend novella! Zoe is an intense woman with a passion for caring for others—which makes her an outstanding doctor. Levi has equally spent his life in service as a firefighter, secretly pining for Zoe but afraid to go after what he wants. I adore how he continues to put himself in her path, determined to show her a different side of himself, and I love how he opens himself up to her—his willingness to be vulnerable with her is definitely one of his greatest strengths and it makes for some very sweet moments. This steamy story is such a fun read with great characters—I look forward to getting more of this world in future books!

Ellen Brooks is a new to me author and I was pleasantly surprised with this book.

Zoe, a new physician who has just passed her boards is back and can't wait to see her brother's best friend Levi...if only to let him see what he is missing! Five years after a one night stand...or maybe one night standing up (YIPES), she wants to purge him from her system. There is a problem with that...Levi is kicking himself and wants to explain what happened all those years ago.

A lot of dancing around, but neither character is ready to give the other one up!

Quick and easy read with the epilogue taking the reader right into the next book in The Heat of the Moment series!

I love a hot fireman romance and when the hero and heroine have as much chemistry as these two do, it’s blazing. Levi and Zoe were together five years ago when they had a one night stand, and Levi has been castigating himself for letting her get away. Not going to confirm or deny that his plan to get her back might involve gummy worms. The hero is hot and thoughtful, and the heroine is intelligent and has a spine. I liked both.

Zoe and Levi had a quick one night stand in a closet at her brother's wedding and the next day Levi treated her as if nothing had happened. Five years later Zoe is now Dr. Zoe Meyer. She's attending an auction and ends up buying Levi to show him what he was missing. But Levi has always loved Zoe, and now he's ready to man up and admit his feelings. This is an excellent love story, fast paced and steamy, great characters and well written, just a fun read and I loved it.

The tension between these two (Levi & Zoey) was electric. I remember the bar scene from when I read the other character's book and it gave me a feel of being "part of the group." The feelings they both carried for 5 years certainly tells you there is something between them, even though Zoey labeled hers as anger (was it though?). Levi was so honest and open during his date night, but would it make a difference now?

I loved Code Red Chemistry: Book 2 of The Heat of the Moment. Levi has loved Zoe for years but he made a mistake and walked away. Zoe is his best friend’s sister and after one amazing night together he ran as fast as he could. He’ll never be good enough for her. Five years later and one look at her, he’s ready to claim his girl. Zoe has loved Levi but he hurt her, can she let him in again, can she trust him? I loved the story and the characters. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

What a hot story! Zoe and Levi have been friends forever. One night at her brother’s wedding, they let lust take over but the next day Levi acted like a stranger. Now, five years later they meet again and the lust is still there. Will Zoe forget the past and look forward with Levi? Will they have a HEA? Highly recommend!

Levi and Zoe

This is such a fun story. The inner dialogue that Zoe and Levi had was so realistic and enjoyable. This is a quick read, just over an hour. It is a delightful way to spend some time. My kindle is still smoking from the steamy encounters. I recommend you grab your favorite beverage and sit down and enjoy this book. I know that I did!.

This second chance romance is steamy and sweet. I loved the redemption arc for Levi. I also loved that Zoe was able to get past her hurt and offer him a second chance. Their encounters in slightly public spaces should be alarming, but I loved their chemistry and the risk of being caught. Can't wait to read Mack's book, which, based on the epilogue, I'm assuming is next in this series.

Levi and Zoe have known each other for years. They have been avoiding each other since her brother's wedding five years ago. I love that Zoe decides to teach Levi a lesson and I love that he comes to his senses and fights for what he wants. I like that they get on the same page pretty quick once they reconnect. This short story is a fun and flirty romp with a big dash of chemistry. 3.5 stars.

I have to admit it took me a minute to get into this book but at first and I just didn’t like Levi. I didn’t care for his playboy persona but he redeemed himself and made up for it with how sweet he was in trying to win her over. Overall, it was a good read.
