Rules made me who I am today. They helped me cope when my father handed me the keys to our family’s empire and told me it was my turn, far before I felt ready for the responsibility. They were part of my success as a hotelier, where my attention to detail made us one of the top luxury hotel chains in the world. But when Marco and Juniper stormed into my life in a whirlwind of manic pixie energy, they systematically broke every single one of my rules. And I was a man with a lot of rules. Maybe some rules are meant to be broken. Like the one about hot tubs. And the one about group stuff. And most definitely the one about things I’m willing to do with other men.
I just enjoy Kristen's writings do much. Juni, Marco and Tristan might be my favorite yet. Tristan's battles and Juni & Marco's support was so sweet. I want more of their story (maybe in Gemma's book)!
So many times people second guess love. Traditional, heterosexual love isn't the only way. Juni, Marco, and Tristan felt it instantly. While it took patients and time, their love for each other was genuine and beautiful. Loving someone isn't about perfection, it's about feeling complete.
Marco and Juniper are visiting Tristan's hotel to look at hotels in the area to expand their own boutique hotel portfolio. They are both immediately drawn to Tristan. But whereas Marco and Juniper are carefree and relaxed, Tristian is wound tight from running his stuffy hotel. Can they loosen him up to the idea of trying a threesome with them?
I did not enjoy this one as much as the others in the series so far for several reasons. I'm a huge fan of MMFs and have read a lot by this author. But this one didn't hit right for me.
First off, I should note that this series was originally titled "Husband's Best Friend" because the first one in the series was about that. It has now been changed to "Rules for Throuples". This is fine, I get that the author changed the direction of the series to expand her options. But I was actually really looking forward to a series where the third was the husband's bff since that's my favorite MMF setup. I will still read them, but this was my expectations going into the series and so that's disappointing.
My other issue was that I felt like Marco and Juniper came on way too strong and were way too pushy with Tristan. In the end I guess he wanted to be pushed outside of his comfort zone. But that's not how it appeared at first. It just seemed liked they didn't care that they were making him uncomfortable and I hated that.
Along those same lines (and maybe because of that), I didn't feel the chemistry between the three of them at all. It felt forced and unnatural and not an undeniable chemistry. I just didn't feel a connection.
When they all do get together, Marco and Juniper seem hell-bent on changing Tristan to "loosen up". I can't tell you how many times Juniper comments on how sexy Tristian is once he "stops trying to control everything". Maybe that's just his personality? Why does she even want him if all she's going to do is try to change him? I didn't like that.
There were a few other smaller things I didn't like, but those are the big things.
I didn't hate this, but it definitely wasn't my favorite. I will continue to read the series, but I hope the next ones are more on par with the first couple in the series.

I loved this book. I was excited that it was longer than the previous book, because I always want more triad goodness by the time it's finished. I loved Tristan, Marco, and Juniper. It was easy to see the connection and relationship between Juni and Marco from the beginning.
'Sometimes, it was fun having a bisexual husband. We didn't have to argue over men; we simply ogled them together. And late at night, we'd sometimes whisper dirty fantasies about threesomes and get ourselves all hot and bothered.'
They were a couple that really had fun together. Tristan was more controlled- very controlled- professional, and as Caleb would label him, a "killjoy." I really liked the dynamic between the three of them. I loved that they were all in the same line of work but had different approaches to their business so there was an opportunity to learn from and potentially build off each other. I also loved Gemma. Juniper was intimidated at first, but honesty and letting walls down a little made the two women connect and I really liked that. She had great ideas and I really warmed up to her quickly.
A slow burn romance. Juniper and Marco were attracted to him immediately. Tristan being uptight took a lot longer for his walls to come down. But when these three finally came together, their chemistry was hot!
I also LOVED that Tristan did crochet, and found it funny when he first saw Marco and Juni wearing the clothes. I could practically see him twitching.
Can't wait until the next book in this series! 5 stars.
4.25 stars. Marco and Juni(per), the married male and female leads, have always discussed/fantasised about adding a third but they’ve never found the right person. On a business trip to England, they spot Tristan, the second male lead, and brother of their potential business partner. Tristan is tightly wound and doesn’t appear to have time or space for them but, as his secrets unwind, maybe that’s something else he’s been keeping hidden…
This story is tri POV, well written, and an emotionally charged, character driven, contemporary ménage romance novella. I enjoyed Marco and Juno’s laidback happiness and their willingness to acknowledge what they wanted in life and to chase it. I sympathised with Tristan’s mental health struggles and appreciated the work he’d done with a therapist prior to the story commencing. I enjoyed seeing him learn to acknowledge his own desires and needs, and to act for his own best interests. I enjoyed the building intimacy between the lead characters, and the confidence Tristan found in the relationship, as well as the joy Marco and Juni felt.

Sweet, sexy, and emotionally rich. Marco and Juniper have always fantasized about adding a third to their marriage—but never acted on it until they meet Tristan, their business partner’s tightly wound brother. What follows is a tender, tri-POV poly romance that balances heat with heart.
Tristan’s journey—navigating desire, healing, and finally choosing love—was handled with care, especially his mental health. Marco and Juni’s joy, openness, and support made the emotional connection feel real.
A beautiful, nontraditional love story about choosing what (and who) makes you feel whole.
Juniper and Marco have build a quirky luxury hotel brand together. While in Bath looking for their next new property, they meet Tristan, and both are attracted to him immediately. However, Tristan has his rules and is always on control, completely unwilling to engage in something like that… right? I loved Tristan inner battle between his desires and what he thought he should do, and Juni and Marco where wonderful in their exuberance and passion. I really enjoyed the build up in this one - makes the ending so satisfying. A terrific read.
We met Tristan in the last book in this series and I was looking forward to seeing his rigid control get unravelled by the free and spirited husband and wife Marco and Juniper. They have always fantasied about adding a third person to their marriage but never wanted to make it a reality until Tristan. There is plenty of hot and sexy polyamorous action but there are heartfelt emotions portrayed too. From consent being at the fore and the understanding of Tristan’s mental health struggles.
This is an MMF story about Juniper, Marco and Tristan. Marco is a bi man who hasn't been down that road since he started the relationship with Juniper. Tristan is a tight laced guy who doesn't have time to do relationships. He's all work and no play. But oddly enough he doesn't find himself attracted to Marco, which surprises him. This was an emotionally intense story with some good spicy content.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It is a steamy story. I liked Marco and Juniper. It was great how they seduced and helped Tristan. I liked how Tristan took back control of his life and allowed himself to love Marco and Juniper back.
Married couple Marco and Juniper meet Tristan at a work meeting, where they are intrigued by the tall, blond haired man. A spicy read with plenty of heat after the getting to know you part.

The subtitle of “Resort Rules: A Slow Burn MMF Romance” tells you everything you need to know about the shape of Kristin Lance’s hot new novella about the unicorn of sexual adventures, the MMF love relationship. This is in the third in a series of interrelated stories in which the someone in one novel is good friends with the other.
“Resort Rules” adds to the mix because in the previous novel we learned of one of the characters, Tristan, an overbearing brother who is the head of the family hotel chain in England. Paying a visit are Juniper and Marco, a mixed-race couple who have developed a small chain of hotels devoted to historical buildings. They’ve come to the Bancroft Spa & Inn in Bath to see how the Bancroft family does a posher version of what they do and to look at a property to put to adaptive reuse and convert into a hotel.
If this doesn’t sound like erotica at all, don’t worry. Juniper and Marco are a sexually happy couple. Marco is bi but stopped exploring the dual attractions after he and Juniper became a couple in college. However, they’ve indulged in fantasies, dreaming of finding the right person to join in with them.
So it’s no surprise that they are both instantly attracted to the quite handsome Tristan. But there’s a catch. Tristan has created a strong work ethic by tapping down his sexual desire, his energies so harnessed that he has no clue why he keeps looking at Marco. Tristan’s refusal to give in to his libido creates the tension of the first section of the novel. It’s so convincing--this is some of the best characterizations I’ve found in a work of erotica--that I would have been happy to read a story in which he holds firm and tragically rejects that aspect of his personality.
However, it’s a work of erotica, it’s labeled “slow burn,” and it’s labeled MMF, so we know Tristan will give in, and when he does, we get an incredibly hot sex scene, one that’s very much worth the wait. Except for some well-written but unrealistic pool sex (lubrication is always an issue in the water), the first half of this novella is a perfect. Juniper and Marco are a delightful couple to hang out with. They very much have lives and passions that extend beyond their interest in sex. And there’s a nifty moment when they wonder if they’ve gone too far in their attempts to seduce Tristan.
The writing, at its best, is equally strong. “But where Caleb [Tristan’s brother] carried himself with effortless grace, this man looked like he'd swallowed a ruler and was no longer capable of anything but perfect posture.” Putting on an ill-fitting T-shirt and sweatpants after his clothes are drenched in a rainstorm, one character observes, “I looked like a midlife crisis trying to pass for a college student.”
If this story were just erotica, it could end with the hot sex when the threesome finally consummates their desire. But it’s a romance, so we need to stick around to see if Tristan will flee or stick the landing, to see how the promised HEA of the subtitle comes about. The first half has such strong narrative tension, that the second half doesn’t feel as intense by comparison. There is, however, a great scene non-sex involving an interview with the press, and one more lovely threesome sex in which Tristan surrenders himself to Marco.
“Rebound Rules” is due out on July 11. I can’t wait.

This book hits so many buttons for people i don't know how you couldn't find parts you love. We got a dose of the uptigher brother, Tristan, in the previous book but only a glimpse. He is a hard working, devoted hotelier who as in british society everything has its time and place.
I LOVED he was called out over his hobby, crocheting. Its not the benefits he gets form it, but the agastness he faced when he sees his work draped over a beautiful woman who was never suppose to know his work exists. he is in for the shake of his life meeting laid back mellow married couple Marco and Junie. They are every bit the ying to his yang, and challenge him at every step. He doesn't expect to be so drawn to this couple, but there is fate working in a way he never expected.
The way these three fall in love, and give up the freedom, pressures of daily life, and show Tristian he deserves to be cared for and loved is amazing. You can't miss the heart of this entire book which is the love and connection they build. Don't get me wrong.....there is enough steam and spice to run a steam engine with, but its got its own category.
You will be thrilled and happy at the same time as you dive into this story of heat, sex, lust, love and crocheting!!.
Resort Rules is Book 3 of the Husband’s Best Friend series. It's a steamy, OTT, MMF, erotic romance. Juniper (Juni) and her husband Marco are a laid back sexy couple who have thought about adding a third person into their relationship but have never found the right person. Tristan, the brother, of a potential business partner seems to appeal to them. He is a CEO who is tightly wound and has some mental struggles. As he spends time with them, he starts to let his walls down and become his true self. This was a longer read in the series, but as always, there was hot chemistry and a happy ending. I loved it.

Lance gives us another great story in her “Husband’s Best Friend” series. This time it’s Juniper, her husband Marco and Tristan. The story was fun and you get to know each of the trio from their own point of view, which I appreciated. There is, of course, lots of spice. But there is also more depth than you typically get from stories in this sub-genre. This book gives you hot, sexy and fun but it also gives you interesting characters and great writing. Recommended.

This is a fantastic book filled with plenty of steam. Juniper and Marco are in Britain searching for new property for one of their hotels. Tristan is the CEO of a luxury hotel and is hosting Juniper and Marco. They are completely opposite of the kind of person that Tristan is, yet they are precisely what he needs. I love how Marco and Juniper can help Tristan escape the rigid life he has lived for so long. Be prepared for lots of steam, and best of all, the perfect HEA.

I loved the first and second stories in the series however I think that this one might have been my favorite so far. There's a bit of foreshadowing the previous book as to who would get together in this installment. I never thought about it before but now I know.... A man that can crochet IS SEXY!!! You've gotta grab this one!.

I read 2 prior MMF books by this author and loved them, so I'm happy to read another one. Juniper (love that name), Marco, and Tristan are one hot throuple. The spicy scenes were described perfectly, and I loved the emotions between the three characters. You could tell they really care about each other. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

This is another fab installment for the series and I continue to enjoy the low drama that comes with each book. In this book, Juniper and her hubby, Marco, pull CEO Tristan into their sphere. It was fun getting to know all three of them and seeing the care and respect that bloomed, along with all that spice. I can't say enough about it being a fun and hot read with humour and love, making it a real page turner. I can't wait for the next book ;D
Another enjoyable story in this series about a very posh and uptight executive finally breaking down and giving into his passions. A slow build up to the actual relationship starting but the tension and teasing leading up to it was so well done. I truly didn't want this trios story to end.

This is an amazing read. I was entirely drawn into the story and couldn't put it down. This steamy, sexy, and fun romance will singe your fingers when you turn the pages.

This standalone book is part of the Husband’s Best Friend series. I enjoyed this slow burn very SEXY story as much as the first two books. I'm looking forward to the next one in the series.

Thinking about possibilities and what ifs. Come to a head when both Marco and Juniper think they have found their potential third. Convincing Tristan to play may take sometime. Good read.

The rules are there for a reason. That’s the way the San goes. Then there is the one about rules are meant to be broken. Those are the most fun to follow through on.
