Remarkable True Stories of Jesus's Supernatural Presence
In this new collection, people who have seen Jesus, heard his voice, or had him intervene miraculously in their lives share their fascinating stories. Readers will be inspired as they see Jesus at work in a variety of circumstances, many of which are similar to their own. Though Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, these accounts will show how he loves each person individually and manifests himself to each one in a unique and special way. Readers longing for more of Jesus will be drawn closer to the God who is intimately involved and cares about every detail in our lives.

Encountering Jesus by James Stuart Bell is a compilation of stories from people who tell of their Jesus experiences. The stories are uplifting and could even be used as a devotional. Not all of them are fun and lighthearted, but all of them are reminders that Jesus is present in every situation and willing to love his children through whatever they might endure. Encountering Jesus is a reminder that Jesus is real, is present and not just a philosophical crutch. The story that I found the most touching was called Secure in His Embrace and it’s told by a mother who loses her son to suicide. The heartbreaking pain she endures while reaching for the comfort of Jesus is so touching. It’s well done and would make a great gift as well. I received this book from NetGalley and Bethany House Publishers in exchange for my honest opinion which I’ve provided here. https://wordynerdyblog.wordpress.com/...
This book is full of very short stories (usually just a few pages per story) which makes it easy to read for a long or short period of time. Each story is about an encounter with Jesus but I like the stories of miracles more than the stories of just the encounters. Most of these stories are very encouraging and all of the stories were well written. It was enjoyable and if it sounds interesting to you, then I would recommend it!
Disclosure: I received this book free from Bethany House.
