BILLIONAIRE FOR SALE is a darkly comic romantic thriller about being held to ransom. By your family. By your marriage. By mysterious kidnappers who burst into your best friend’s villa and seize you at gunpoint.
Tess realizes she’s made a mistake marrying billionaire Jeremy McCarthy, and questions her unfulfilling life with him. Just as she’s ready to leave her lavish life behind, masked gunmen crash into her world and kidnap her husband and three friends. Now, instead of walking away, Tess is pulled into a dangerous world of high-stakes negotiations and even higher personal stakes.
As secrets unravel and loyalties shift, Tess finds herself drawn to the man helping her secure the billionaires’ safe return —Harry Marlowe, a brooding ex-soldier who might be her way out, or her next wrong choice.
Inspired by real-life kidnappings of the super-rich, BILLIONAIRE FOR SALE what really has value in a world where everything is for sale?
Brilliant Audible production, fantastic narrators and sound effects. This is the perfect book if you're looking for something short and not too heavy. it's got banter and even though something sinister takes place, the comedic value had me laughing out loud. A really good listen and my first time to a Sarah Page book. Definitely going to add some others to my tbr. Kerry Kennedy Author
This is a lot of fun to listen to…As fun as a kidnapping book can be, that is.
Ok, the story itself has weaknesses. The romance element is pretty cringey and not believable. Why are these two together, again? The kidnapping itself veers too wildly between comedy and tragedy. The resolution is too pat.
BUT, I’m giving this stars because the production value is great, voice actors are top notch, and the story kept me really interested.
I picked this up solely by the cover because it intrigued me. The narration is by a full cast duet Dramatised performance and it was done amazingly.
I thought this would be a great story to do the housework to as it was so short and it didn't disappoint. I actually really enjoyed this story as there was so much packed in about real life and people with money, life not always being better etc etc. I thoroughly enjoyed this and would love this cast in something else again.
I didn’t like this story as much. It was made to look like a love story but it wasn’t which I can be okay with. It was a mostly good idea. I just didn’t like that the FMC was basically coerced into marrying the MMC and “dies” She doesn’t do anything. Doesn’t seem to even try. The author made some comments to address this. Something like it was too dangerous to paint when married to a billionaire, (well, thing still went awry didn’t they) and ‘my paintings didn’t sell because of my talent just the name so I stopped painting all together.’ Blah, blah, blah. And then the one she ends up with is a good guy. She is too whiny to be with a good guy. ugh

Even though the audiobook was free with my Audible subscription, I wouldn’t recommend spending money on the book. I found the main character, Tess, to be shallow right from the start. The interactions between her and Jeremy (the main couple) felt unnatural, and it struck me as odd that she seemed to have abandoned her own dreams and desires as a result of their marriage.
From their initial interaction at her art display, it was clear that Jeremy was pushy and likely lacked boundaries. It also seemed that Tess was not fond of him either, yet she still became committed to him. I found it weird how she became a shadow of her former self so soon after marriage. I understand that there were probably responsibilities that she had, but given that all the finances were taken care of by Jeremy, I guess I’m wondering how she spent her free time.
Anyway, outside of their relationship, the plot line was pretty interesting and kind of comedic at times, despite the situation. The scenes involving Jeremy and his friends, their discussions, and their arguments about what to do were well written. The descriptions of his friends and their families were also decently descriptive, and I enjoyed those parts. Although, I do think the story could have been done with one less friend, as I often confused two of them during the interrogations.
Overall, while the story was short and had an interesting plot, the romantic aspects, particularly Tess and her description of her relationship with Jeremy, felt off to me. I also have to mention Harry’s easy sway by Tess, which made him seem unprofessional. Is it really that difficult to maintain professionalism when it comes to this life-and-death situation?

This is an Audible Original, so it is only available on Audible. I have listened to many books on Audible over the years, including the Audible Originals which are presented like a play. All have been fine--except this one. The "actors" were incredibly "mumble-mouth", to the point where it was almost impossible to understand what was being said. There was also much yelling and other external noises--making it almost impossible to understand what was happening. Add to that the fact that all the actors sounded similar and the listening turned into a very unsuccessful performance read.
The poor sound quality might have been overlooked if the story had been a bit more believable. Or if there were not so many extraneous characters who had little or nothing to do with the outcome. Or if was possible to like even one of the characters.
Billionaire for Sale by Sarah Page just didn’t work for me. Tess came off as shallow and disconnected, never really showing depth or growth. Jeremy was pushy to the point of being uncomfortable—he didn’t seem to understand the word “no,” and that made his character hard to root for.
The supposed connection between Tess and Harry didn’t feel believable, and honestly, their relationship felt more awkward than romantic. And the kidnapping subplot? It took an already shaky story and pushed it into the realm of completely unbelievable.
Overall, this one just didn’t land for me. The characters lacked chemistry, and the plot felt more chaotic than compelling.
I listened to this novel/performance over two days and enjoyed everything about it. It has a bit of everything and fortunately shares many truths about lives scorched by greed. I was surprised how much I was drawn to Tess and her conundrum and all in all completely lost myself in this drama - partly due to the great writing and partly due to the fabulous performances. Perfect escapism with a heart and an important message.
Both main characters are so unlikeable and that must be the author forcing me to root for their marriage to fail.
I like the thriller aspect of it, and I had to finish it to find out what happened, but I absolutely hated that it was centered on a relationship between two miserable people, a marriage that failed before it even began.

Okay this was honestly strange for me but it made me laugh many times and I actually liked it. This isn't a literary masterpiece or anything and some stuff annoyed me but it was entertaining for what it was so I'm giving it 5*
A man falls in love with an artist, but his money made her unhappy because she had nothing worth painting. Then her husband gets kidnapped and the man that rescued him she bonded with. She had a choice money or passion.
Easy read. Performance was fantastic and really kept you engaged. The story line itself was different and made you think. Great cast and sound effects.
