There are a lot of menopause books hitting the market, and that's a good thing. I've read some great ones and some pretty bleh ones, and this one falls in the middle.

Written by a journalist (and human who has been experiencing the things), it's potentially more broad than the more specialized medical (Dr Mary Claire Haver) or athletic/physiological (Stacy Sims), but more specific than some general ones that I've read that try to deal with identity shifts in the change. Because she is a health and beauty writer, more comes at it from the lens of how women see themselves and how they see others seeing them (a good chunk on styling shifts, etc.). A lot of what is in some of the more specialized books appears here in a broader but maybe more digestible form, so I think a lot of women will find this more accessible than some of the others as a start.

Overall, a helpful addition to the books on this subject, but not a whole lot of new ground that was covered. I recommend this as a first-stop, potentially, before picking up the more specialized.

Nothing earth-shattering here. Good to read to know that you're not alone, and to perhaps get some tips on how to deal with some aspects of menopause. A quick listen at 2.5 speed. Thanks to libro.fm for the free educator copy.

Seems like info from previous medical articles cobbled together with references to menopause. Disappointed more isn’t spent on hormones.

Some good information in digestible form that lets you know what you might be in for and how to navigate this time in life. Perhaps a little too repetitive on the HRT MRT front.
