BABYYYYY THIS BOOK RIGHT HERE??!! WHEW. I had no choice but to slap it with ALL 4.5 stars. I’m talkin’ 4.5 big, shiny, can’t-deny-it stars. The way it ATE?? Listen—any complaints I got are background noise, because this story ran laps around my expectations.
Pacing? Smooth like butter, but with a kick. The tension? Slow-build pressure cooker that hit JUST RIGHT. And that cliffhanger?? EVIL. I mean true villain era—and I was HERE for it.
Now let’s talk about Dom, because SIR… WHAT?! You in love with your wife, you feelin’ her deep in your soul… but you won’t SAY IT? Because you “can’t be out here caught up like that”? BOY SHUT UP. I was side-eyeing my phone like—am I reading this right? Like… what’s the reason? What’s the trauma? Gimme SOMETHING. ‘Cause right now, he’s just givin’: “I overthink every damn thing—except my side chick.”
You emotionally unavailable but out here dippin’ in temptation like it’s a buffet?? Chile. The nerve. The gall. The disrespect.
BUT—let me be clear. If Dom’s the one who snatched up Carmen, cologne hittin’, voice low, talkin’ reckless? I’m tuned in. I ain’t missin’ a beat.
Now onto Victoria… Girl. I wanted to root for her, I really did. But she was floatin’ through this book like she was in a daze. Your pops gets taken out on cartel turf, your mama gone under mysterious circumstances, and YOU just barely make it out alive… and you not even slightly curious?! Not a side-eye? Not one late-night Google search?? And her uncle? Talkin’ all cryptic, not spinnin’ the block, not even fake-mad? He’s givin’: “You an orphan ‘cause I said so.” And she’s givin’: “Okay, Uncle Daddy!” Girl WHAT?! Open your eyes!!
As for her and Dom? That chemistry was DOA. He was emotionally stiff, and she was out here damn near panting behind him. It wasn’t tension—it was awkward. And Dom? Sir, you got all this discipline, all this strategy, all these rules for everybody ELSE—but you can’t hold yourself to the same standard? Oh, you want your wife to stay loyal while you do what you want?? Boy be fr.
It’s not even about the cheating no more—it’s the audacity for me. You want respect but you out here clownin’? If karma would’ve slid through and handed him a bullet to the shoulder, I would’ve said “Amen.”
This one was TOO GOOD I had to drop the full five stars because honestly, my critiques are minor in the grand scheme. The pacing? Chef’s kiss. The tension? A slow, steady build that DELIVERED And that cliffhanger? Absolutely diabolical in the best way.
But let’s talk about Dom real quick, because sir… WHAT? His hesitancy with love had me squinting. Like, you feel deeply for your wife, you know you love her, but you won’t say it because you “can’t be caught up like that”?? Be serious. I needed more background, more trauma, more anything to justify that emotionally stunted behavior. He’s giving "I overthink everything except the part where I cheat." Like huh??
Still, the only man wearing Baccarat is Dom, so if he’s the one who took Carmen? I’m tuned all the way in.
Now onto Victoria… idk if I was reading too fast or if she was just a fever dream of confusion, but she was WEIRD AF. Making up whole scenarios in her head instead of asking the right questions. Like—your dad died on cartel turf, your mom gets mysteriously killed, and you survive by chance… but you're not even slightly suspicious?? And your uncle ain’t spin the block for revenge? He’s giving “you’re an orphan because I said so,” and she’s giving “naïve in distress.” I hope I’m right because that man is off.
As for Dom and Victoria’s dynamic? I didn’t feel the tension. He was lukewarm at best, and she was THIRSTY. I’m mostly disappointed in Dom’s lack of accountability. You’re strategic, calculating, disciplined… but can’t remove yourself from temptation? Make it make sense. It's not even about the infidelity at this point it's the disrespect. You want your wife to follow your rules, but you’re out here doing whatever? Honestly, I wouldn’t have flinched if he’d caught a bullet. Actions have consequences, king.

This book is full of drama, danger, and passion. Dom’s juggling problems from every angle, but his biggest one is the love of his life and now she’s in serious trouble. He’s ready to tear Miami apart to protect her. Fast paced and emotional, DOM: The Miami King delivers a wild ride with heart. If you’re into intense love stories with a street edge, this one’s for you.
Carmen was irritating. I don't like it when couples go back and forth, it's unpleasant. She knew what Dom was about so you'd think she'd just play her position? And Dom is toxic lol He is leading her along and trying to convince himself he doesn't really care about her but then he does. I had a headache trying to figure them out. All the cartel jargon had my head spinning. I could barely keep up lol And were we meant to feel pity for Victoria? Cause if so I really didn't care that she felt alone and was in a one-sided relationship with Dom. She's very delulu 🤣 This was an okay read, not my favourite. But it was packed with action and I liked how Carmen handled a gun and could protect herself. It was giving badass 😎 I wonder how long we'll have to wait for part 2??
When the King speaks you listen and follow all that is told of you. Please don’t think you can do something and the King not find out! The sad part is you’ll never know when that King is going to strike and I promise you’ll never be ready for it! But love, yeah that was really never in the cards and playing on his top wasn’t a good idea either!
Let’s talk about it shall we! First off the vibe and BDE that Dom gives - 🥰! The way he process, handle and address issues or concerns was like no other. Can I just say that I love the fact EVERYONE knew he was that ninja and the King of Miami. Oh but my guy didn’t like nor accept any form of disrespect. He was calculated and whenever he had to handle anything, you would never see it coming nor knew he did it unless he wanted you to. Dom was that ninja that stood on business, he didn’t allow distractions of any kind, he also kept his circle small! Love was never an issue nor did he allow it or so he thought. When you have that one that you know she’s the one, but crossing that line blurred and complicated things, there’s nothing left to do once it’s blurred. What’s that saying - damaged is done. Well that’s exactly what happened between him & Carmen! Crossing that line that they both tried to prevent, started to show signs of distraction and emotions that he needed to get a hold to but it spirals in my opinion because Carmen is starting to react of emotions. See my guy played chess and always knew where his pieces were but when different pieces are placed on the board, it starts to shift! This man showed he was not just the founder of Royal Enterprises but he is the King of Miami!
Now Carmen, my girl I get it. That man gives off everything she needs and definitely wants, but she knew the game and the role she needed to play - VISA or so she thought. Oh but when you have needs -🫣. Yes it was an arranged marriage but it was really more but to prevent getting hurt you tell yourself something different until. The way this woman held it down for Royal Enterprise was like no other. Dom definitely had the right idea and plan to have her go into the field of law. The background work she could do left me speechless. Oh let’s not forget the way she protected herself along with Dom. Listen ole girl is no joke. Her life was nothing but survival mode at all time. I truly enjoyed the development of her character and the back story of her life so there can be a better understanding of who she was and is now.
Now Victoria, babygirl I just don’t know. She’s in a game she doesn’t know how to play. Like you know that say “don’t be dummer than you are stupid”, yeah she needs to think more before she acts. I don’t agree how they are keeping everything a secret from her because it’s her life but at the same time I do understand! What I do know she better stop trying to Carmen when it comes to Dom. Victoria is really working my nerves with how she moving and how acting. Like I get she a princess in the life of her family but no one real or fictional she be that green -🤣🤣!
When I say there’s so much to discuss about this read such as Tone, Dirque and O’Shynn that I’ll never stop or end this review-🤣! But that ENDING! Listen I’m needing part 2!!
Oh....its gettin good, dom so caught up in runnin things, he's pushin his love for carmen to the bck and even though carmen built ford tough its botherin her. They make a power couple but dom prefer her to b in the shadows, carmen wnt to b out and under the arms of the miami king, i hope dom cme to his senses because carmen is it for him🤦🏾♀️ tht victoria even though she a pawn in this game, she wnt dom and im glad he curved her except tht one time she came into his room, he should of locked his door cause he knew and the whole crew new she was feelin him🤦🏾♀️ , i knw it hurt carmen of his actions, he dnt like the feels of love which he needs to stop denyin it or suppressin it. Dique is a trip 😂 no filter, ima b surprised if tht babi is his because the features they described do not seem like it lol🤦🏾♀️ . O'shynn whomever broke her heart did a number because sis got her heart behind a steel door wit bob wire and pitbulls guardin it, but she seem to b u bothered. Its definiteli smethin goin on because el blanca is movin funni and the fact he sends vic for dom to protect was suspicious, he want dom to fail and die for his agenda! But royal enterprises will not fail. Tone is solid, but it seems like a inside job, i hope its not him. Ima bout to c though 👁️👁️🍿🍷! Next!
S. Yvonne has done it again! For months, we waited for DOM: The King Miami King to be released, and it was worth all of the wait. Our girl did not disappoint and she did not come to play about the King of Miami. DOM gives us BDE on every level from beginning to end and along for the ride, he has his wife Carmen. Carmen doesn’t disappoint either, she’s a boss in her own right. Carmen holds her man down like a real woman is supposed to. But what is a cartel boss without his family covering his front, his back and his sides. Along with Dom , and about this Cartel life you have his brother Dique, his sister O’Shynn, as well as right hand man Tone.
Episode 1, has set the stage for what I know will be one hell of ride. It starts out gums blazing and Our spoiled Princess Victoria also enters the scene and makes us feel guilty about her sheltered upbringing, then makes us feel a type of way because like most, she can’t resist the BDE, DOM gives off! Episode 1 is packed with love, lust , suspense and danger lurking in the shadows, someone is trying to take out the head of the Royal family. I can’t wait to see what Episode 2 brings, because 1, gave what it was supposed to give!!
A definite must read! Episode 2 me please!

OMG what a great read can't wait for Dom The Miami King EP.2 left us hanging
Dominic went thru blood, sweat, tears to get his family to the top of the food chain. Royal Enterprise is under investigation and El Blanca business associated has drop his niece off to Dom to protect at all cost . El Blanc is using his niece as a pawn to take out Dominic and his family because he feels the Royal has to much power he is greedy and untrustworthy. Carmen is Dominic wife and family attorney who keep the organization clean and loves her husband who saved her from a traumatic experience in her life in Trindad . O' shee is a bad boss women who don't take mess from man or women she is Dominic sister who will put you down to protect the family legacy. Dominique is the baby brother who is a live wire who lives on the west Coast in California .He stays in darma with ladies who might have daughter for Keondra one of his side pieces. He is loyal to his family he protective of his siblings and he keeps you laughing and guessing. Tone is one of Dominic trusted solider he has a baby on the way the Miami streets is hot turning to survival is the key in this chest game. Now Carmen has been taken it some snakes in this camp who would be this bold to come on his home turf.
Babyyyyy, this book had me in a chokehold from page ONE. I started it last night, finished it today, and I regret nothing. Sleep? Never heard of her.
Dom was literally minding his business when his plug hit him with, “Watch my niece. Somebody’s trying to kill her.” And Dom, being the real one he is, takes her in—even though he already got a whole messy situation at home.
Now let’s get into Carmen. Listen… that “visa-only, strictly business” marriage lasted all of five minutes because feelings started creeping in like thieves in the night. They crossed that line, and once they did? Oh, it was OVER. The tension, the chemistry, the possessiveness? Whew.
But then here comes the plug’s niece—supposed to be OFF LIMITS—yet Dom can’t ignore that something about her situation ain’t adding up. Once he finds out the real reason she needs protecting? Chile… everything hits the fan. Shots fired, secrets revealed, alliances broken. And Carmen getting kidnapped? Oh, that lit a whole different fire under Dom. The man turned into straight chaos wrapped in revenge.
I need part two in my hands IMMEDIATELY because the way this ended? I’m stressed, excited, and ready for bloodshed.
From the very first chapter, I knew DOM: The Miami King was about to take over my reading life. Dominic Royal moved with power and purpose, but what really had me was how quiet and calculated he was. He didn’t have to say much to let you know he ran everything, and that made him even more dangerous—in the best way.
Carmen was the perfect match for him. She wasn’t just there to look good or play it safe. She had her own voice, her own edge, and she challenged him without trying too hard. The way they connected felt real—grown, complicated, and layered with tension I could feel through the page.
The pacing was smooth, and the buildup between them never felt rushed. It gave exactly what I needed—a slow burn with depth, emotional weight, and heat that made sense. The story was clean, well-written, and honestly felt like luxury street lit. S. Yvonne brought her pen to this and it shows.
This book was everything I hoped for and more. If you love power dynamics, forbidden energy, and characters who feel real and raw, then this one is for you. I’ll definitely be thinking about Dom and Carmen for a while.
Babyyy… we stepped into Dom’s world and whew, the Miami King is getting hit from every direction! The drama, the secrets, the mess? It's coming at him heavy and from all sides. This one is a slow burn done right — the buildup got me holding my breath and flipping pages like my life depended on it.
Now let’s get into Carmen. That woman is a problem in the best way. She’s calm, calculated, and completely unfazed — one of the strongest feminine leads I’ve seen in a minute, and she didn’t even have to raise her voice to take control. Her deadly silence? Chef’s kiss. Sis is grace, mystery, and discipline all rolled into one. I adore how she holds space without trying to prove herself. Dom ain’t ready, but he gonna learn today.
And just when I thought I had the pieces together, in waltzes this Mafia Princess with her own brand of chaos, completely flipping Dom’s program! Like girl, what are you even doing here?! Now I’m left staring at this cliffhanger like… S. Yvonne, why would you do us like this?!
Carmen and Dom’s chemistry is undeniable, the politics are politicking, and the story? It's heating up something serious. I’m perched and waiting for part 2 like it’s payday.
DOM: The Miami King by S. Yvonne is a thrilling, high stakes dive into the world of crime, passion, and power. Through Dominic Royal, the notorious “Miami King,” readers are pulled into a world where danger and desire collide, and every choice carries weighty consequences. The story combines suspense, romance, and intrigue in a way that keeps readers hooked from start to finish.
What makes this novel particularly compelling is its balance of character depth and adrenaline fueled plot. Dominic is both captivating and complex, navigating his responsibilities to the El Blanca crime family while confronting irresistible personal temptations. The tension between forbidden desire and duty drives the story, making it an unputdownable page turner for fans of contemporary romance, crime drama, and character driven thrillers.
It’s Chess Not Checkers!! I cannot stand Victoria, she’s a spoiled brat a nit wit. She is acting like she like her people ain’t the mafia.Dom is using Victoria as a pawn just like her uncle. She falling for him and she doesn’t even know, she just wants somebody to want her, but it’s not Dom. I wish they quit playing and tell each other what they mean to one another. Carmen is following Dom rules, he can play but she can’t? El Blanca is bad for business, he’s going to get the Feds involved and get Dom and Victoria killed in the process. Dom and Carmen are beneficial to each other. He married her, put her through law school. She is his lawyer and keeps him businesses running. I wonder if Carmen realizes that she fell into Dom’s trap? It can be real or not but she just canceled her breakfast date
Dominic Royal appears as a clean-cut businessman who is the head of the Royal Enterprise. In reality, he is Dom, aka The King of Miami, head of an organized crime family and secret enforcer for El Blanca Cartel. He's given the assignment to protect the Cartel's prized possession, their princess. While under his protection, the princess falls for him, will Dom stay the cold calculated businessman that he is, or will he fall prey to the princess? Dom The Miami King is well written, but did you expect less from S.Yvonne? It has great character development and background details. The pace of the story flows smoothly. It is not rushed or dragged out.
This series is gonna be lit. My girl is having a hard heart battle from her husband. Dom needs to get his stuff together. But i think Dom had something to do with his wife getting snatched at the end. And that spoiled brat Victoria always tries to get what she wants, but Dom is off-limits . She is gonna learn the hard way with her uncle. U did good on yet another book and I'm looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read.
The Royals didn’t play, people definitely knew not to play with the family. Dom screamed dominance in this story he moved a certain way that he didn’t have to do to much to make his presence known. My issues with him is his love for Carmen, I know how it started off, but now feelings is involved for both she expressing them but Dom isn’t expressing it at all, I know he feel like the life they live they don’t have time for feelings, but at least expressed them and reassure her in private. Now Carmen I hate you let your emotions get the best of you, cause now look what happened.
There was a lot going on in the novel. The Royal's seem to have a bunch of fires burning all at once. Dom is The King of Miami and called on by El Blanca to supposedly protect his niece, is it a ploy, only time will tell! Carmen has gotten herself into something letting her love for Dom snatch her focus off of staying safe. Only time will tell who snatched her. While I enjoyed this read, there were a lot of errors, editing definitely needed, duplicate words, incorrect use of words. I will continue to see what happens next.
That ending made my heart drop!!!…I loved everything about this book from the beginning to the end!!!…I loved everything me some Carmen and the crafty way she moves!!!…Dom out here playing while she’s trying to make sure he can keep his feet planted!!!… Victoria is definitely playing with fire and Dom is likely what burned because someone else is playing chess too, and 1 of his pieces has just been taken!!!… Dique is definitely the comedian and I can’t to see what I next with his blue eyed baby!!!…
Dom is HIM! S.Yvonne did it again with one! The BDE Dom brings is insane ! This book is fast paced & hot and steamy! Dom and his siblings have a great bond and I am a fan of Dique he is hilarious and toxic lol. O’shynn is such a mystery that I can’t wait to dive in I want to know what’s going on in that room of hers! Dom terrorizes the streets of Miami ! I am team Carmen…for now, I do hope Victoria see’s freedom though she deserves it. Can’t wait for episode 2!!
Whew Dominic Royal is a man that handle SH*T with a little bit of toxic in him lol. I love the way this book wasn’t rushed , and the scenes built up perfectly! Carmen is the perfect woman for him I feel like , don’t do too much but does enough! This is definitely a slow burn but I love that about it, it keeps your mind wondering and tension in full effect. The cliffhanger was great .. I can’t wait for the second part.
Whew! This is the action-packed Mafia romance I didn’t know I needed. I loved every second of it. Dom is the definition of a powerful, no-nonsense boss, and Carmen? That girl is her. From the moment she hit the page, I was drawn to her strength, her fierceness, and the way she held her own in a world full of danger and power plays.
S. Yvonne really delivered with the chemistry, the tension, and the plot twists and that ending? Had me STUCK. I need book 2 like yesterday.
Author Syvonne didn’t come to play with this book she slayed these characters my two favorites are Tone and Diaque they boffum should of been some comedians especially Tone talking about splackvilles 😂😂😂🤦♀️ I can’t wait for part 2 cause I know Dom the king of Miami going to bring the heat along with the crew mannnnn this book reminds me of Shottas great job boss lady can’t wait wait wait for Mo cray cray to come
I’m intrigued but a bit on the fence. O’Shynn, Carmen, and Dique are my standouts so far. The pacing is slower, which makes sense for an intro, but I was hoping for a stronger hook.
As someone from Florida, I expected to visualize the setting more clearly, but it didn’t quite click. Dom feels a little too controlled for a lead, but I’m curious to see him unfold. Hoping things pick up in the next part!
First I’ll start by saying that this is the first book that I’ve read by S. Yvonne and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It started out slow, but definitely picked up speed. There were a few mistakes in the book, but it did not take away from the story. Dom was definitely that man, he was in love with Carmen but was scared to show it. But, I can’t wait to see how he reacts to this ending though. By the way, I really don’t trust that Victoria chick.
The story was a little choppy, but still tolerable overall. One thing that confused me was how Carmen knew to follow Dom to the bathroom when Dom only said it to himself. Unless the author was implying they were thinking the same thing, that moment didn’t quite add up. There was also a lot of repeated smirking, which started to stand out. The writing itself wasn’t my favorite, but the plot is developing well enough that I pushed through. Despite the flaws, the storyline kept my interest.
Dom & Carmen!? This book was everything I needed it to be. The underworld, the cartel, the love, the spice. It was literally EVERYTHING. Dom kept that same big dawg energy the entire book & Carmen came through making her presence known from the beginning. Victoria is delusion, but there’s always one. I cannot wait for part 2!!!
I loved her dedication! I loved how she NEVER let them see her sweat. Yes, I know this book is about the King but THE QUEEN!!! I'm waiting for book 2. I'm not making any promises about not stalking because.... You know me! 😘 I'm also hoping for more from baby brother, cause that fool! Great job as always💗💜
Very interesting book, I’m a little surprised by the way S Yvonne changed up in this book. From the beginning it focused on Dom and his surroundings but it went straight into his job and focused on how strategic and calculated he is. Great read and I’m rooting for Carmen
Man, I was going back and forth tryna see if Dom was gon ride it out. Love Carmen, but how much will she take before she break or is she’ll break? The ending has me waiting for the next book just to see what’s to come.. definitely a good read for me, I would definitely recommend!
