Rate this book
From New York Times bestselling authors Kristin Cast and Gina L Maxwell, King is a gripping dark romance where desire meets danger and two souls bound by destiny find a love that transcends the shadows. This novella takes place in the Towerfall universe.

A night of wine and witchcraft turns into a waking nightmare when Elara is torn from her world and thrown into the ruthless kingdom of Towerfall—where magick is power, and she's the prize.

Auctioned to the highest bidder, she's claimed by Ronan, the King of Swords—a warrior with ice in his veins and vengeance in his heart. He doesn't believe in fate. He doesn't believe in love. But Elara isn't just another pawn in his deadly game—she's sharp and cutting, a woman who defies him at every turn.

She makes him a her service in exchange for a way home. But as Ronan trains her, the line between captor and captive blurs.

He never meant to crave her. She never meant to fall in love.

But in a world where betrayal is currency and desire is a weapon, falling for the King of Swords might be the most dangerous gamble of all.

Gosh, I needed this to be a full length book.

I love the Outlander vibes where she falls into the past and falls in love with the one capturing her. I would've loved to know more about Ronan, know more about Elara. Know more about the world she fell into. I just want to know more.
