I knew better than to get involved with Xavier Darcy. He’s not the type to chase—he waits. Patient. Deadly. All shadows and stillness, with a voice that makes threats sound like lullabies.
One reckless night turned into a viral headline, and suddenly the world thinks I’m his. But the truth? That lie could destroy everything I’ve fought to protect—especially my family. No one knows who I really am, or how far I’ve gone to keep them safe. Including staying far away from love.
Then Xavier shows up uninvited at my family’s home—deep in the Louisiana Bayou, where time slows down but trouble moves fast. To protect my family, he plays the part of my fake fiancé, while I try to protect my heart. But as the days stretch long, the nights turn slow and sticky, and the line between pretending and wanting begins to blur—nothing about Xavier feels fake. He makes me feel safe when all I’ve ever known is survival. His gaze haunts me, when I’ve spent years being the one people fear. And I hate that I crave it. Crave him.
This was supposed to be a PR fix. A short-term lie. But Xavier isn’t backing off, and I’m losing the battle I swore I’d never fight. Because down here, where everything’s slower—and far, far sexier—resisting him might be impossible.
From award-winning author Taccara (T.L.) Martin comes The Seven Day Hitch, the final, electric installment of The Black Wife Effect series. A slow-burn romance laced with suspense, southern heat, and fierce emotional stakes, this heart-racing finale follows Xavier and Charlie as they fight for love in a world that’s tried to keep them apart—even when their greatest obstacle might be themselves.
The Seven Day Itch was an interracial love story that did not read like some of the others I've read. The story was smoother, it was easier to digest. It wasn't always apparent that Xavier wasn't AA. I don't like to be constantly reminded, that the relationship includes people from different races. The author sometimes vaguely described the characters visually. Charlie's description was better, with cropped hair, brown eyes and a beautiful body. I could visualize her better. The super cool mysterious sides in the story, and the eclectic group of ancillary characters, added more punch to the storyline. The romance was steamy, and the dramatics were exceptional. I recommend this story. 4.5 stars...
The setup of this book uses one of those classic romance tropes where two people are thrown into a situation that forces them to spend time together, which can definitely be entertaining. I enjoyed the realism of how Charlie stayed true to the culture and herself. There’s some sass and slow-burn tension that helps balance the playful vibes between the characters. Overall, if you're into romance books thats serving spice, this is for you.
T.L. Martin delivered heat, heartbreak, and hurricane-level tension* in The Seven Day Hitch. This isn’t just a fake fiancé trope—it’s a full-blown emotional reckoning wrapped in southern humidity, slow-burn lust, and the kind of secrets that don’t stay buried for long.
Charlie isn’t your average heroine—she’s been through hell and clawed her way out for the sake of her family. And Xavier Darcy? Whew. That man is stillness and storm all in one. He doesn’t chase… he waits. And when he shows up at Charlie’s family home deep in the Louisiana bayou? Game. Over.
Their chemistry simmers. It’s slow and sticky like summer in the South, and just as dangerous. As the days tick by and their fake engagement starts to feel too real, the line between duty and desire blurs—fast. What started as a PR fix turns into a fight for survival, for love, and for a truth both of them have tried to outrun.
T.L. Martin knows how to craft suspense with soul. This book aches. It seduces. And it satisfies—all while peeling back the layers of trauma, trust, and what it means to finally feel safe in someone else’s hands.
💥 **Favorite part?** The long, simmering nights where tension and truth collide—and Charlie realizes she may not be the only one pretending anymore.
🖤 *Final thoughts:* If you love intense slow-burns, emotionally guarded heroines, dangerous but tender heroes, and the kind of setting that becomes a character itself… *The Seven Day Hitch* will steal your breath. A sultry, satisfying end to a powerhouse series.

I absolutely adored this book! I loved how T.L. represented interracial relationships and living in the south. As someone who is in an interracial marriage, living in Louisiana this one hit home. The points about Charlie explaining to Xavier about black culture. The realistic descriptions of black funerals, hair, history, it was all on point. The romance was sweet. The trials and tribulations that Charlie and Xavier endured and overcame together were beautiful. This book had it all. The romance with a tad of spice, the drama, the heartbreak, the high expectations of black children with their parents, the drama, the comedy, the twists and turns, the unexpected reveals and the happy ending. I loved it!.

”And in that moment, I realized I’d never wanted to be part of someone’s world more than I wanted to be in hers.”
I’ve been anticipating this book since My Filthy Rich Valentine. I needed more of Xavier and Charlie. I was so excited to find out they would have their own book. As soon as it came out today I dropped my other book just to read this. Man I was not disappointed at all. They are perfect for each other and Charlie definitely deserves her love and Xavier deserves to have a nice loving family. Everything he did for Charlie ugh oh my god. The drama was so good and I was so invested. I definitely didn’t see it coming. I love the biracial couples representing and Xavier listening to Charlie explaining everything. T.L Martin you did it again. This series was just so good.
As much as I liked Will, Xavier surpassed him. I love the control that Xavier and Charlie exchange in their relationship. Race was still brought up more than I thought necessary. Not as much repetition as “My Filthy Rich Valentine”.
T.L. Martin closes out The Black Wife Effect series with a scorching and emotionally rich finale in The Seven Day Hitch, and let me tell you—Charlie and Xavier’s story is a chaotic, deeply felt masterpiece. It's the kind of book that punches you in the chest, then kisses it better.
This isn’t just a second-chance romance—it’s a second, third, and fourth-chance romance with an unshakeable undercurrent of history, heartbreak, and healing. Charlie is brilliant, bold, and done taking anyone’s nonsense—including Xavier’s. Xavier is a brooding billionaire with serious secrets, but beneath all the polish is a man obsessed with the one woman who got away.
The plot balances romance, mystery, and family drama with expert pacing. Secrets from their past slowly unravel as they're forced to return to their Southern roots, reconnect with family, and face the consequences of their choices. The Southern Black legacy, class dynamics, and complicated grief are all woven seamlessly into the story without overshadowing the central romance.
What makes The Seven Day Hitch standout is its incredible voice. The humor is sharp, the banter sizzles, and the female friendships (shoutout to the Cockpit Chix!) are just as vibrant as the love story. And yes—the heat between Charlie and Xavier is undeniable. These two could burn down a vineyard with just eye contact. The steamy scenes are bold, passionate, and emotionally charged in a way that hits just right.
If there’s a flaw, it’s only that I never wanted it to end. Martin knows how to write grown, sexy, emotionally complex characters who feel real—and she knows exactly when to punch you in the gut with a reveal or a moment of softness.
This is the kind of romance that’s as much about self-worth and family legacy as it is about love and lust. If you’ve followed the Black Wife Effect series, this is the payoff you’ve been waiting for. And if you’re new? Buckle up. It’s a wild, Black, bougie, and beautifully messy ride.

Would I recommend it?: Yes, a million times yes! I’d recommend The Seven Day Hitch to anyone who loves romantic comedies with a nostalgic vibe, slow-burn chemistry, and emotionally mature characters. If you're drawn to strong, badass heroines, charming and patient heroes, and stories rich with southern charm, black cultural flavor, and pop culture references, this one’s for you. With its perfect blend of humor, romance, and light suspense, it’s a feel-good read that hits all the right notes.
Brief book description: The Seven Day Hitch by T.L. Martin is the electrifying final installment in The Black Wife Effect series. A slow-burn, emotionally charged romance laced with suspense and southern heat. When a reckless night with Xavier Darcy, a dangerously calm, commanding man goes viral, Charlie is forced to protect her carefully hidden past by faking an engagement. But in the sticky heat of the Louisiana Bayou, where Xavier shows up uninvited and unrelenting, lines blur between lies and longing. As family secrets, fierce chemistry, and high stakes collide, this seven-day PR stunt becomes a battle of hearts in a world that never made space for love…until now.
Things I liked about the book: What I loved most about The Seven Day Hitch was how it captured the charm and realness of the late 2000s and early 2010s romantic comedies, giving me major Jumping the Broom and Think Like a Man vibes. The chemistry between Charlie and Xavier was electric! Full of teasing tension, sharp banter, and a deep, tender love that felt authentic. Xavier’s patience and unwavering support balanced Charlie’s badass energy perfectly, making their dynamic incredibly satisfying. I loved how the story blended humor, romance, and suspense while exploring deeper themes like healing, identity, and being truly seen. The Southern setting gave the story warmth and soul, and the female friendships brought so much joy and strength to the narrative. Ms. Lorraine gave me major Ms. Loretta vibes (IYKYK), and Prince Elijah, though not on the page much, stole every scene with his sharp wit. This book was vivid, heartfelt, and laugh-out-loud funny, an unforgettable read.
Favorite lines/Quotes: > “I swear to God, you’re going to be the death of me. She winks. Don’t threaten me with a good time, Mr Darcy” > “Xavier. That man will be the death of me. And the worst part is, I think I might die smiling.” > “Because sometimes the loudest, most undeniable form of love isn’t grand gestures or flowery words. Sometimes it’s just the quiet commitment of walking behind someone who doesn’t know how to ask for company… but needs it all the same.” > “He never quite understood her fire. Not the way I do. He saw her shine. I saw the heat that made it.”

ARC Reader - Book Review: The Seven Day Hitch by T.L. Martin
I laughed. I cried. I felt every heart-wrenching emotion in this book.
T.L. Martin delivers a masterclass in slow-burn romance, emotional complexity, and deeply human vulnerability in The Seven Day Hitch. This final installment of The Black Wife Effect series is the kind of story that lingers long after the last page—wrapping around your heart with heat, honesty, and a haunting kind of tenderness.
Stasi and Charli—two sides of the same woman—are brilliantly crafted. Stasi is bold, confident, untouchable. Charli is the protector, the survivor, the soul who still dares to long for safety, for love, for something as simple and terrifying as home. That duality makes this story feel achingly real. It’s not just about falling in love—it’s about healing, reclaiming identity, and allowing someone to truly see you.
Xavier Darcy... he doesn’t chase—he waits. This man’s past and present have shaped him into someone calculated, intense, and quietly relentless. He doesn’t shout to be heard—he commands with stillness. Xavier studies her, learns her, and loves her from afar—until the moment he can step in and stay. There’s something magnetic in the way he honors both Stasi and Charli, understanding they are one woman with layered truths and sacred scars.
Their chemistry? Electric. But what truly makes this story sing is its emotional intimacy. As their journey unfolds with bayou heat and pulse-pounding tension, Xavier proves that love doesn’t demand—it waits for permission to be let in.
Martin beautifully balances the sultry Southern setting with suspense, family loyalty, and the brutal cost of survival. The history and legacy of Louisiana, New Orleans, and the deep South become a character in and of themselves—rich, textured, and unforgettable.
You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. And if you’re anything like me, you’ll fall a little in love with The Seven Day Hitch.
More than a romance, it’s a love story about learning to trust again. To be vulnerable. To be seen. And it is truly unforgettable.
This is the first book of TL Martin’s that I have written and I already have the previous 2 of the serious in my book list because I have to wait until payday to get them (darn book budget and all these new releases). It captured my attention right from the start, touching on the family history, building a dynasty and what was expected which of course never actually happened. There is this one line that really stood out for me, placed thoughts into my head that will stay there forever “Because that’s what a good Black woman does – she sees the greatness in her man before the world ever catches on.” Because it did make me realize that in today’s world far too often people expect their dates to be perfect from the start which doesn’t happen. The greatest couples were never like this at all. They each had their own faults, problems along with their ideas and together, working together is what made them who they are. This book was one you won’t put down until you are finished with it, it is filled with interracial romance, love, history, success and more. You will be snorting several times during the times when they are together in Louisiana at a black funeral.
Back to the book. Xavier Darcy, (oh Mr Darcy the perfect name for him) and Charlie (Charlesetta Anatasia) aka Staia Sinclair are not your ordinary couple right from the start. He is a successful business and she is a kick butt woman and they both have wants and needs. While there is a definite heated chemistry between them, there are some problems though, they will need to work through a little bit of chaos, some mayhem, a surprise or two, a few secrets and more in order to truly realize how perfect they are for each other. I could go on about them but that will ruin some of the story line. Just add it to your list and read it soon because it is a book you will want to read time and time again.
Thanks to the author for an ARC copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is one of those novels that you encounter that makes your heart happy. It’s about a love that breaks every expectation, but not to be provocative.
Charlie and Xavier have both achieved greatness professionally. It seems matters of the heart prove to be a complicated topic.
Charlie comes from old money. Her familial legacy speaks for itself. She’s been groomed to be a specific type of woman. The path for her life has been set for her. Charlie has other plans. She’s created a life that’s something she can call completely her own. She’s made a total separation between who she was in Louisiana and who she is in Georgia. When strenuous circumstances arise, she’s forced to be more honest.
Xavier is new money, but he’s not irresponsible. You could even consider him a recluse. His infatuation with Charlie makes them both a target. His admiration for Charlie is not an afterthought. His actions and intentions are clear.
This is a kind of novel you can sit on your porch with a glass of something mellow and just relax and melt into the story. I enjoyed that the central focus of the story was their relationship. While there were other points that were important. The story did not heavily rely on external stimuli to keep its momentum.
One of my favorite characters is Prince Elijah. Although he doesn’t appear in the novel frequently when he does, he provides a point of comedic, relief, and guidance for Xavier when he’s overthinking.
It’s rich in the understanding of black culture. From the traditions, to the funeral and the foundation of the big house. It was all beautifully cemented into this story.
Thank you T.L. Martin for an advanced copy of this book!
WOW. This was an amazing read, I loved it from start to finish, and if could have read without sleeping just to finish it in one day, I would have!
Older MCs - Charlie (35) Xavier (42)
Charlie is the most amazing woman, she comes from a family with expectations, but it took her a while to realize that those expectations weren't there to suffocate or put her in a box, but to uplift and empower her. This isn't just a romance novel, it's a book about family and finding yourself, and allowing others to see you and love you the way you love yourself.
Xavier is not just a book boyfriend, he is THE book boyfriend that Charlie thought would never make it out of her imagination. He is OBSESSED with her, and it is the cutest thing ever! Though it takes him a hot minute to really tell Charlie his feelings and really get her to understand where he's coming from, he finds the right words and actions to make her feel secure in choosing him in the end.
The unexpected twist of spy secrets and family crisis really threw chaos into their way, but it ultimately helped bring them together (forced proximity trope, always a goodie 😏).
The culture! There was so many little and big references to the history of the South, since it is set in Louisiana for the most part, the music, the food, the people, everything! It was like immersing myself into Charlie's life in New Orleans for a little while. Absolutely loved it!
The spice!! Of course it was hot af, mostly in the end of the book, about 3-4 open door scenes. I'm gonna need an extra chapter dedicated to that private plane scene that X and Charlie kept talking about Mrs. Martin 👀!!
I loved that this book's main character, Charlie, was an upper class Black woman whose family was grounded in tradition. I also loved that she was a badass with a job that had her functioning as a cross between a government agent and a mercenary. Her upbringing contrasted with the MMC's, creating great room for tension and growth. Charlie and Xavier also seem to have real chemistry based on a previous encounter in earlier books.
Unfortunately, the author just couldn't seem to be able to decide where to focus. We spent way too much time on Charlie's family and the death of her grandmother for no good reason. By contrast, the book started with a real crisis affecting both of our main characters that was much more compelling. However, this literally goes unaddressed for more than half of the book. Instead we get detail after detail about Charlie and her family that just seemed irrelevant to the plot.
The worst part of this was that the more we learned about Charlie, the less likable she seemed. I understand resisting family expectations and setting boundaries, but it was clear in several places that Charlie had missed important milestones in her friends' and sibling's lives. Sure, you've been gone for several years, but the lack of a phone call or other contact made her seem like an asshole.
I kept waiting, pleading for the actual romance in this book to start, but instead of focusing on the characters and their love story, the author seemed determined to beat us over the head with character history and heavy-handed class politics. A miss for me.
This was my first read by this author. Thank you T.L. Martin and BookSprout for my copy! I really enjoyed this book. I must say that I did not read the first two books in the series prior to reading this but I will be going back to them.
This book is layered. It’s a light-hearted romcom that showcasesblackness in its fullest form. Aside from romance and comedy, you also get a bit of mystery, family secrets, deep southern Black legacy, rekindled friendships (her friends are bomb) and more.
Charlie’s a gun wielding former operative with a guarded heart, Xavier a high-profile billionaire used to keeping his cool under pressure with the world watching. But when a private encounter between them goes viral, damage control is top priority!
What starts as a carefully staged PR stunt, quickly turns into something more real than either of them expected. Sparks fly. Secrets unravel. And neither of them is ready for what seven days together will do to their fragile hearts.
Special mention to Prince Elijah! His banter with Xavier was hilarious!
This ride is messy, Black, bougie, and absolutely read-worthy.
Tropes: Marriage of Convenience 2nd Chance Romance Forced Proximity He Falls First Found Family Female Friendship
Give me a second chance where he falls first and I'm going to devour it like a peach every time. Both MCs are relatable and likable. Charlie & Xavier are delicate balances of soft and hard. Charlie is a badass in her field but requires the softness and need of her family, friends, and Xavier. Xavier is adamant on using his success to make the world a better place. But he also craves a love from Charlie and the Sinclairs, that to me, is the true second chance. Xavier is given a second chance to be loved and embraced by a family without prejudice. He is still the man for Charlie despite his bloodline. With majority of the story occurring in the New Orleans, it overflows with the history of the antebellum, slavery south, and prohibition. But also gives reference to strong family bond (including chosen family), restitution, generational wealth and overcoming every obstacle of being free and black in the south. The harmony of the plot, character development, suspense, and history was perfectly executed. The relationship between Xavier and the villain was unexpected. I assumed it was Julia because she kind of disappeared in the middle of the story and a lot of the personal leaked info would've came from someone like her. Glad she is in the clear though. At the end of it all, I love that this story portrays a black woman being loved loudly, intensely, and unconditionally.

I loved this book ! Charlie is sassy and independently fierce. Takes no bs ! Xavier is such a sweet man and so romantic with all things he does for her. I love the banter with Charlie and her best friends and the sibling love language between her and her brother. Also, Prince! supporting and offering advice to Xavier. so so sweet ! I love how the author represents interracial relationships as well. Beautifully written, and I adore how Xavier wanted to learn all about her culture as well. I laughed and cried reading this. Especially at her relationship with her mom. I love a good romance story, and it had spice too !! I had to put my phone down for a minute because I thought someone was reading over my shoulder lol (No one was) this is my first book i have read by T.L Martin and I cannot wait to explore more. I was chosen as an arc reader for this book, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to read it. Thank you !
I went into this book not knowing what to expect, especially since it's the third in a series I haven’t read from the beginning. But surprisingly that did not matter one bit. The Seven Day Hitch pulled me in right away, with a fast-moving plot, unexpected twists, and a storyline that kept me hooked.
I’m a total sucker for a good “fake romance” trope, but this book takes it to a whole new level. The main characters' chemistry is off the charts. And yes, the spice level is a solid 5/5.
I felt so connected to the FMC Charlie. Her family dynamic and the way that she separates the "real" her from people and gives them the version that she thinks they want is sooooo relatable to me. And I truly loved Xavier for her. He really knew what she needed from him and moved accordingly.
Now I have to go back and read the first two books. T.L. Martin has definitely earned a spot on my must-read list!.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Yeah, I won't be continuing with the series. I enjoyed the 1st one the most, as ridiculous a premise as it was. The second was best with Timantha and Will's story (Autika was OTT, but I liked getting to know Charlie). This one was too much Charlie and not enough of Timantha (and just enough Autika, thank goodness for small mercies). Charlie never really grew for me; she was very much a southern, spoiled (whether she believed it or not) NLOG who has mommy issues. She shuts out her whole family and is all about control but somehow Xavier can break through her defences. She should've been more badass than she was but she felt incredibly juvenile and petulant with her "no one understands me" schtick. This took longer than I thought to read and it was a slog, so much so the spice didn't make up for it (and took too long to get).
This being the final book for the trio of friends had me at a loss . You go in knowing this is it for characters that you love like family but little did I know. I have fallen for the Sinclairs of New Orleans. Everything about Charlie's past comes front and center and slams into her present making way for a future she didn't even know she needed. Xavier is a slow burn that man lights the fire steps away and stokes the flames ever so gently and he speaks French softly in Charlie's ear .. swoon . All I can say is be prepared for a big laugh out loud scene around chapter 22 grab a tissue you will need it . Well done .. can't wait for what's coming next . I'll be tuning in. Bring the book besties along so we can check in on their lives from time to time.

This was another good read from the author. I enjoy reading about interracial relationships, specifically with black women, because I am one so I enjoy “seeing” them loved by everyone. We deserve to be loved “out loud” like others. I like how stereotypical interactions and storylines weren’t done to the extremes but still seemed genuine of what that group experiences. A lot of the book just made sense for me. I also like seeing men who love their women enough to let them be themselves and still want to go above and beyond for them. My only issues were really things with the editing that I felt were a bit too noticeable to have been missed.

Phew! Where do I begin with my review of The 7-Day Hitch?! This book is an incredible conclusion to the BWE series, one that is full of vulnerability, patience, fire, banter, chemistry, spice, love, and a little chaos!
Xavier and Charlie have history. An encounter leads to leaked pictures and threatens to destroy everything Charlie has done to shield her family from her secret life. Neither one can deny the magnetic pull- the chemistry, but Charlie is reluctant to give in.
A fake engagement and forced proximity opens the door to this second chance romance. An exploration of past encounters, family history, and cultural dynamics, results in two people who just want to be seen; want to be understood, when the outside world doesn't accept who we are or who we choose to love.
This beautiful story offers vulnerability and healing, but is well balanced with humor and spice- ohhh the spice! It was uninhibited, passionate, and just RAW!
I love that Charlie got her own story. Xavier seemed like the type of dominant man all women want, that understands how to love his women for who they are, and be there for his women in the way they need. I love that a lot of the time Charlie didn't really communicate her needs but Xavier always came through. I definitely love the part where he got her everything she loved. I fell in love with Charlie when she kicked Xavier in his set. I was hollering when Xavier secret was revealed. I did not think this story was dark more on the grey side and so much banter. I loved this series and will be looking for Grants.
Another great story weaved by Ms. Martin A very interesting and exciting story of Charlie fighting love and Xavier chasing it It was great seeing how they come to the realization that they are meant to be together and embrace the love they finally have for each other Family love, friendship love, are all present in the characters we come to love from the previous books I am looking forward to reading about Grant and Marlowe in the next book Great job Ms Martin
The Seven Day Hitch is the third and final book of the Black Wife series and follows Xavier and Charlie’s story which over powers the senses with emotion, secrets, mystery, romance, family dynamics, humor, and passion. Expertly written, with a cast of finely crafted characters this slow-burn romance heats up the southern nights and brings the reader along on a wild and turbulent adventure of the heart. Loved their story which was entertaining, engaging, and an awesome read.

What a way to end the this unforgettable series! I love how Ms. Martin constantly invokes different emotions with her characters and Charlie and Xavier's story definitely invoked real raw emotion. This of course had a touch of dark like all T.L Martin books but its was such a refreshing and exciting story I couldn't put it down. I also loved the nod to Southern culture that gave me a sense of comfort as a southern girly myself.

I love this story! It is heat and history. Humor and hype. Heartbreak and happy endings. The way Ms. Martin weaves one of my faves-Pride and Prejudice-and delivers a juicy, flavorful BWWM IR Mr. Darcy had me in a full swoon, pearls clutched for several hours of reading. Whew, chile! And that Southern sensibility that my own family shares (minus the millions)? Chef’s kiss 💋
Such a good time! The main characters have chemistry that is sizzling off the page! Charlie and Xavier make you pay attention to their story. The YEARNING is top tier! I fell in love with them from the first punch (lol you’ll get it once you read it!) Also, I think it can be hard to write a black character without either making it too so much their personality that they aren’t relatable or almost irrelevant because there’s nothing about it that impacts the character’s personality and T.L. Martin does it beautifully. Charlie is that girl—-complicated, strong, relatable, and black! Her storyline supports it and so does her man!
I think the 3rd installment is my favorite of the series!
When I tell you I loved loved lovedddd this book down. Omg. T.L Martin really knocked it out the park with this one. Everything from the southern culture to each character that was main or side you connected with them. Charlie and Xaiver story was beautiful, funny, raw and real and I ate it all up. I can’t wait for the next one installment
This book was the perfect ending to The Black Wife Effect series.
Loved seeing how Xavier and Charlie's story played out & how they eventually accepted what was happening between them. The vulnerability and acceptance through the good and bad made me root for them. Nothing like having someone that allows you to be your true self and fight for you.
Also I would love a series about Charlie's family and friends. They were hilarious & well developed.
O.M.G, let me just start by saying this cover art is gorgeous 😍! It shouldn't be this gorgeous. Charlie! Charlie is that girl; she is that strong female who doesn't take sh*t from anybody and doesn't mind telling it how it is. I thought Will would forever be my favorite in this series. Xavier gave him a run for his money. The way he balanced out Charlie! Lord, it made me swoon. I highly recommend this book. It's book 3 in a season, but it could be read as a standalone.
