the act or practice of causing someone to believe something that is not true by concealing or misrepresenting the truth, typically to gain some personal advantage. Over the last few years of their marriage, Faith and Mayno have endured loads of love and lots of loss. Faith struggles to carry her each of her pregnancies to term, leaving her heartbroken in her husband’s arms. Struggling with his own overwhelming devastation, Mayno seeks consolation between the legs of one of the absolute last people on earth he should have ever turned to, making one mistake that costs him more than it could ever have benefitted him. When his act of deception is revealed, Mayno finds himself trapped in a whirlwind of chaos, chaos that Faith has left him and the rest of their families to sort out on their own. Faith is enjoying her fresh restart, but as life would have it, a family member’s sudden health scare pulls her back to the place of pain and betrayal she escaped years ago, and when she returns this time, she has her own secrets to reveal. Once considering all hope of ever being able to reconcile with his wife lost, Mayno finds his path crossed with Faith’s once again, and he’s determined not to miss this opportunity to make things right. But everyone isn’t happy about Faith’s return, and when Mayno tries to make peace with Faith, the true depths of the betrayal against her are uncovered in a revelation no one sees coming, leaving everyone in Faith’s life victims of Deception.
This book had potential but why would the author portray Mayno as needing redemption and wanting to fight for his wife? He was in a two year relationship with the whore who helped ruin his marriage. A man who had remorse and love for his wife would have cut her off. And nobody put Suga in jail for killing three babies, so of course she was able to cause havoc at the end of the book.
There was no character development. The book was rushed. The twists did not make sense and was written for pure shock value. The few flashbacks in the book sometimes did not relate to the story like she does not know how to build characters and a solid background or history. It was all over the place.
Another nonsensical thing. Why did they even take Suga in if he wasn’t the father? They coulda dropped her off to the grandma.
Also the dialogue was sooo choppy and sometimes didn’t make sense. If the author slows down, creates multi layered characters, gives a solid history and voice to the characters, she would be a great writer. Imagine this story line with Takkerra Allen writing it. She would have breathed life into her characters and made the reader feel for them. I cannot root for Faith, she is a dummy. The whole clan let Suga play in their faces. From the grandma on down. That diary should have been in police custody.
I don’t even understand what I just read lmao. This book had so much potential but it was literally all over the place just speeding like a freight train. Nothing made any sense in this book. The characters reactions to stuff being revealed made no sense. I only gave 2 stars because it had potential and the mess kept me reading. This review is just as confusing as this book 🤣
Decent read as far as engagement goes. Good storyline but predictable. I can already tell by the scriptures, focus on forgiveness, and the ending that this is going to be another book about a weak woman experiencing the ULTIMATE betrayal and "forgiving" other people's sins and taking him back 🙄
This man cheated you on even after the moment of weakness, he KEPT going back and cheating with the closest person to you with no remorse. Created a child with her (a daily reminder of his bs), let you leave and never looked for you even tho he had the resources. Find out this chick is killing yall kids and for some reason the author will still write about Fay and Mayno "working it out." Insanity. Ain't that much forgiveness in the world. The only one with a semblance of sense was Suga's mama when she pointed out how stupid Fay's mother was. This woman killed your grandchildren and had a child with your child's husband and you stand there defending her?! To make it worse, they ALL watched how vindictive Suga was but never intervened. I wish Fay had left and never looked back, met someone else, and lived her life. Her family ain't shit and neither is Mayno.

Buuut, once it got to about 60% the story kind of fell off for me. It became all over the place. Two years gone and she forgave everyone so easily. & what do you mean you put two & two together and realized that Suga was the reason you lost 3 of your previous pregnancies and ALL that was done was beating her ass? Like.. nooo… jail, perhaps?
Mayno working on himself is cool & all but I have a feeling in book 2 him & Faith will be back together and I’m not a fan of that. There should be no reconciliation in that relationship outside of the kids 😬
Ultimately, I don’t think I’ll be reading the second book.

Yeah, if you interested in reading a book that is full of mess and family drama then please pick this one up. I finish and went immediately into the second book…. Jealousy and envy is a hell of a monster. Suga got it honest from her mama.. Faith is better than me and I think what bothers me the most is that her family truly failed her
Whew chile loved the story and idk I must just have a good heart but the good in me wants to see Mayno and Fay get it together. Never liked Suga from the beginning can’t wait for part 2
This book was fantastic, definitely one of those books that’s hard to put down! The storyline was amazing from the very first page. I’d suggest waiting until part 2 comes out before diving in.
I have to say I can’t wait to read book number 2 . Faith has been so strong and so mature I just can’t believe it . I need to know what will happen to Mayno and their relationship
It would have took me more than 2 years to forgive my whole family especially my mom! If I was to ever forgive them I definitely wouldn’t have talked to them again that was so foul and they should’ve had suga locked up and I hope the divorce gets finalized forever!
Now this is how you write a book, none of that "i released a breath I didn't know I was holding " foolishness. All the characters perfect the kids are so funny. Now on for part 2.
I enjoyed the MMC and FMC in this book. Who I really enjoy was the bad twins, especially the girl. This book touched me spiritually with the bible scriptures. I am glad everyone got what they deserved. However, I was confused about Shanna and her old boyfriend and the significance it had in the book. Overall an awesome read and highly recommended. Great job Flo’Chi.
This was a good read. Suga ain’t worth nothing and I hope she what she deserves. So much mess and drama in the story. It went fast but it all came together nicely.
