Sara just landed the coveted last spot on a research expedition to the Caribbean, specifically the infamous Bermuda Triangle. But the position of a lifetime turns into a nightmare when their ship is unable to weather a storm of epic proportions.

Mitchell just turned thirty-five, which wouldn’t mean much if he was human. Unfortunately for unmated eel shifters like him, the milestone means he has to return to the hidden eel city under the Sargasso Sea, giving up his shifted form as well as life on land.

When Sara is thrown overboard, Mitchell speeds to her rescue, only to discover she’s his fated mate. Sara knows nothing about eels, shifters, or the secret underwater city, but it’s a good thing she’s a fast learner, because she just triggered his mating frenzy, and it’s about to get really hot.

Slip into Me was originally published in the Strange Love charity anthology. It is meant for readers over 18.

Eel shifters must find their mate by age 35, or they lose the ability to shift and must go live in the under water eel city (located at the Bermuda Triangle) forever.

Our MMC just turned 35, he's an eel shifter, and hasn't found his mate yet. So you know where he's headed...🔺🐍

Meanwhile, our FMC is a human scientist aboard a ship looking for underwater ruins at the Bermuda Triangle.

Will fate step in so these two can meet, or will they miss their chance?

Quick read (I'm talking under 1hour), stands alone with a complete HEA- and it's sweet, funny, & so hot 🥵🔥🚒.

Don't give me the 😒 side eye, yes he's an eel shifter but he has two forms. Think about the possibilities is all I'm saying.

Also he's such a sweetheart who's looking to find & then dote on his mate (& rail her once his heat is activated & she finds the new frills on his 🍆). Both MC's were so cool and likable, the story totally believable.

I started reading it and the next time I looked up, I was done & leaving this review lol. Give it a chance, you might like it- plus what's the worst that could happen? Someone finds out you like raw dogging an eel shifter with a 🦆 🍆. Blame it on the cover, it looked educational 🤣.

I have officially found the best opening line I have EVER read:
       “The first wet snowflake hits my head like a dollop of bird shit. Honestly, I would have preferred the poop.”
I mean… COME ON. Immediate perfection. The mood is set and expectations are clear. And honestly? The book DELIVERED. 

Yes, this is monster smut. Yes, it’s unhinged. And somehow… it’s also adorable and wildly clever. Clover Holloway, I owe you an apology for doubting eel-based romance even for a second.

Let’s talk science, because this is important.
Fun fact: No one has ever seen freshwater eels reproduce in the wild. Once a year, they all mysteriously swim to the Sargasso Sea (aka the Bermuda Triangle) and then… baby eels appear. Coincidence? I THINK NOT.

Friends… Clover Holloway has cracked the case: most eels are actually shifters. If they haven’t found their fated mate by 35, they lose their ability to fully shift and must live forever as a human-eel hybrid in a giant underwater bubble city.

I’m sorry, but this explains EVERYTHING. Someone give this author a Nobel Prize immediately.

Our poor MMC is facing this exact fate… until his fated mate conveniently drowns in the Bermuda Triangle six weeks later.

Lucky for him (and her), the hybrid doctors are very good at reviving people, so no, this is not that kind of feral. No necrophilia, don’t panic! Death isn't a dealbreaker here.  She lives and the romance ensues. Science wins once again.

And yes… when he’s in hybrid form, his anatomy has "special features". I did briefly consider... No, let me rephrase that.  I DID Googling for toys inspired by it. Results were disappointing, it's a  missed opportunity, honestly.

Oh, and because he’s an eel shifter… there’s electroplay. Obviously. Nature at its finest.

I laughed, was impressed and I nodded along like, “yes, this makes perfect sense.”

wasn’t expecting as much plot or world building as we got, which was nice. and yes, i know the point of this book is that it’s primarily a smut novel but … the last third of the book felt very rushed after all that plot and build up. it was still enjoyable, but a little more in general wouldn’t have hurt either, i think. we barely got to know the city they’re spending the rest of their lives in, yk?

This was such a fun and unique read! I would have never thought something like an eel could be made into a hot, romantic shifter mate but it definitely works! And the story is so well delivered in such few pages. Great read!

If no one truly has seen eels mate in real life, who’s to say this isn’t the way? This was a fun, short and spicy read. The world builds nicely and has the right amount of action. I did enjoy these characters and would like to see more of this world if there was ever the chance.

This was exactly what I wanted it to be, only I wanted more content. I could've easily read this as a full length novel or a longer novella and been just as intrigued. I LOVE all marine animal shifter/monsters and this was a hilarious commentary on how mysterious eels are to humans. I loved the bit of world building we got and the spicy scenes were perfection. Write more please!!!

I mean, I read this out of curiosity. Not really much was a cute instalove shifter mate oneshot. There's not much to say there. It's so short with not much just kind of porn with a little plot.
