Love is a heart’s trick A soul’s bargain And for Raven Folk, an eternal bond
KEV BRANNON I will die on Samhain, unless kissed by my true love. She can’t know of my curse either. The problem, besides the obvious? My betrothed left me three years ago. Now my tribe is forcing me to marry into another Caravan. But, for me, there is only one choice—win back the girl I never stopped loving or die trying.
SKYE FIACHNA Walking away from Kev Brannon nearly destroyed me. I didn’t want to break his heart. But our families had created a far crueler fate. Now he’s back, despite being required to marry another, a decision our tribe bound in magic. If I don’t resist him, I risk cursing us both. And, stars help me, if I do? He’ll forever belong to another . . .
✨ HEARTSHOT ✨ is a 15,000-word second chance romance set in THE NIGHT MARKET, originally published in The Bookish Box’s Romance Anthology Vol 2.
This short story is SPOILER FREE and can be read before any book in the Bound by Ravens series.
JESIKAH SUNDIN is a multi-award winning Fae Romantasy, Dystopian Punk Lit, and Historical Fantasy writer, a mom of three nerdlets, a faeriecore and elfpunk geek, tree hugger, nature photographer, and a helpless romantic who married her insta-love high school sweetheart. In addition to her family, she shares her home in Seattle, Washington with a rambunctious husky-chi and a collection of Doc Martens boots. She is addicted to coffee, GIFs, memes, potatoes, cheese, kilts, mossy forests, eyeliner on men, and artsy indie alt rock.
Another Bound by Ravens story, another story I loved 😍 it fits perfectly with the other stories and lets you get acquainted with lesser known characters.
I forgot how much I love the Bound by Ravens universe, and this sweet novella cast that spell on me again. The author has such a charming way with her writing voice and I am looking forward to the Last Greenwood Wilds coming soon (I hope!)
This is easily a standalone piece where you don’t have to know anything about the universe the book hails from, but you’ll definitely want to give Bound by Ravens, the Night Market and the Heartbreak Show a read to fully embrace the magic these are.
Witty banter, romance, magic, elf con artists and the life of being in a traveling show, lovers overcoming the circumstances of family and social classes keeping them apart… and finding your Raven shifter mate…. you’ll find it all here.
Just FYI- this novella is not spicy per se, but the series is, so you might want to keep that in mind should you decide to tread here.
Heartshot is an absolute gem in the Bound By Ravens world. Even though it’s a short story, Jesikah Sundin somehow manages to pack in all the emotion, romance, and rich worldbuilding that I’ve come to love from the series. I could read stories in this universe forever, and Heartshot just deepened my obsession.
Kev and Skye stole my heart instantly. I laughed, I cried, I swooned. Sundin has a way of making you feel so much in so few words.
This is the perfect bite-sized read while we wait for the next book. It stands alone beautifully, but trust me—you’ll want to dive into the whole series.
What a lovely surprise to get the audio for this short story after The Heartbreak Show, it brings another flavour to the Kingdom of Carran and the Caravan fae.
Kev Brannon gets one mention in The Night Market - . And I hadn’t thought of the Fiachnas except for how they ruin others’ lives. So it was a nice glimpse into the politics of the Caravan Fae, not tarnishing the entire family with one brush, and I hope we see more of them later!
I will never ever tire of this world and the magical stories that come from it.
Another great read. I was in a slump and I needed something I knew would get me out of it without having to second guess my choice.
I love that we get this short and sweet novella of two other characters, Kev and Skye, that is just as fun to read with the banter, magic, swoon worthy, and high stakes perfection that comes from the full length stories in the Bound by Ravens books.
Kev and Skye have such a sweet story. This novella was a great addition to the BBR world and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It takes place at the same time as The Night Market but contains absolutely no spoilers, so if you haven't read The Night Market, but want a little introduction to the caravan fae, this is the perfect fit.
I love this world so much. this was short and so, so sweet. These two characters are so wonderful and the banter between them is so so fun in a way that only Sundin can pull off! Even without knowing any of the world building from other books I don't think it would make someone feel lost, but every one should read all of the books set in this world because every single one of them is fantastic
We barely saw them in The Night Market, but boy did they bring it for their own story. I loved the rebelliousness and banter. The corset charmer made me giggle.
All in all, a quick read full of curses, banter, and a good time.
This book!!!!! Oh my gosh! Jesikah Sundin is a master of riddled words in this lore-infused, magically-addicting, hold-onto-your-knickers, laugh-out-loud, swoon-fest of a romantic fantasy.
Cian and Glenna have such a special relationship full of bets and bargains, yet with a deeply rooted love story for all to enjoy. This story is one of finding your own worth and being comfortable in your own skin.
This was such a splendid read ! This little novella was a prefect way to get a basic understanding of the A bound by ravens series. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series 🥰
This was adorable. I am very much enjoying this world and all the characters. The couple in this was very very sweet. I read this one after The Night Market but before I started Heartbreak Show. I think it fit well as a short in-between story. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
The way it shows so much in such small amount of pages is beautiful.
Both sweet and fun, with depth and feeling.
Really like the plot and the fact we get to experience more of this universe and their characters and at the same time we get to see more of the same moments that marked our beloved characters and the way it marked this new characters we get to love now.
Really liked the way you can see the care they have for one another and even tho they at some point can't share it they do their best to show and specially how Kev cares so much for her and for her "sister" and all the "siblings" he had and how they are part of him and his story is so beautiful to see and knowing this, how Skye goes beyond to make him happy. And their there little back and forward and benter, i really like how Jesikah creates all this personalities, i love everything about this.
