In a moment of youthful curiosity, these six men were marked forevermore.
Jersey Paranormal Investigation was created when Braden and his five friends were marked by the Jersey Devil during their childhood. Now, they all have special gifts when it comes to the supernatural. Years later, Braden finds himself on his next job only to come face to face with the beautiful victim, Mack. Not all is it seems and Braden and his team will have to figure out why Mack is being targeted and to keep from falling for the man in the process.
There is beauty in every kind of love, so why not live a life without boundaries? Experiencing everything the world offers fascinates me and writing about the things that make each of us unique is how I share those insights. I live in the Midwest with a wonderful partner of thirteen years. When not writing, I’m watching movies, reading and living life to the fullest.
Braden goes on a paranormal case with his friends where he meets Mack. Braden and his friends are cursed by the Jersey Devil. Mack is being violently haunted by a spirit. While in the process of solving the case, Braden and Mack fall in love.
Strange things happen at Mack’s work but up until now, Mack’s been able to come up with excuses for why things happen or ignore it entirely. But when a shelf falls down near him while he’s working, his boss finally decides to call someone to deal with the strange occurrences. When Braden and his friends show up, Mack’s still skeptic that there’s ghosts around but when the ghost turns more and more violent, Mack’s forced to accept believing in them. Braden knows there’s an entity around the restaurant where Mack works but when it’s obvious the being has attached itself to Mack, Braden’s protectiveness for the man comes forth. With the adventure of banishing the ghost, can these two still manage to act on the connection and attraction that’s so obvious between them?
Oh, this was such a cute, slightly scary story! I just loved that Mack was such a skeptic in the beginning but then quickly changed his mind on what to believe. The fact that he kept getting scratched up and seeing weird things definitely helped in changing his way of thinking. As a character, Mack is mostly scared throughout the book. His way of life has completely changed because of the ghost and that’s freaked him out. Braden, however, is a total contrast. He’s dealt with ghosts for years and dealing with another is no big deal. The only difference with this one is that he’s attracted to Mack and that attraction forms into something much more emotional. As a pair, I loved them together because Braden was able to comfort Mack when he most needed it. Plus, add in Braden’s friends and fellow JPI guys and you have a few funny and sweet moments thrown in that I totally adored.
I really enjoyed this book but I did feel like the ending was very rushed, especially when it came to the resolution with the malevolent ghost. I expected a bit more focus on that but it felt like it was over before it began. Plus, I would have liked a little more of Mack and Braden after things settled. Beyond that, there were a few unanswered questions like why did the ghost turn so malicious recently when it seemed like Mack had been working there for a while? Why did it take so long to start being violent?
Overall, this was still a fast-paced, engaging story. I really liked the premise of the book and the fact that six friends are connected by the Mark of the Jersey Devil. It was definitely an interesting connection but I also liked that Mack seemed to be accepted by all of them. I loved Mack and Braden together, even if I wished there was a bit more of them shown at the end! Still, I can’t wait to see where this series goes next and who’ll get their next HEA!
Surpringly spooky! I loved that aspect. Romance was nice, if rushed, nice heat. Great start to a new series. 4.5 stars
Six boys face the Jersey Devil one night and it marks them for life. Now they have special powers that help them solve paranormal mysteries.
Braden and his team go to Michigan where a ghost (or ghosts) seems to be doing a lot more than haunting an old Inn. Mack, a waiter there, is actually being harmed by the entity(s) and it’s getting worse.
Now, no matter where he is, the spirit(s) find him and are slowly making him fear for his life.
Luckily, Braden and the JPI (Jersey Paranormal Investigators) know what they’re doing and with the help of their Mentor Edward, help free Mack from his ghostly problem.
In the meantime, Braden and Mack discover that they mean a lot to one another. However, Mack is still in school in MI and the JPI can’t leave NJ, they’ve tried. Will the two be able to maintain a long distance relationship or will something else happen to bring them together?

I was very pleasantly surprised by this. Please, ignore the cover. It does not reflect the quality of the writing. The story is fast paced and creepy. Just the right amount of ghost story and love story, mixed together.
I though the team, with each of their unique abilities, will serve as great sources of MCs for future books. Co-incidentally, all 6 boys happen to be gay, so there ya go!
I liked Mack’s slow acceptance of the paranormal, despite all the evidence. I thought the way Mack and Braden handled their separation was fairly realistic, as well.
I highly recommend this to ghost story lovers and lovers of sweet romances.
Mack knows two things ....one- He has never ever felt the amount of heebie -jeebies as he does currently ...two-as much as he does not want to believe in heebie-jeebies they are currently kicking his butt. Between his house sitting, school not to mention his job he is tired and stressed out now he is scared witless. After meeting Braden from the Jersey Paranormal Investigations he finds that besides the instant knock your socks off attraction; they now have an otherwordly battle to contend with. Braden and his partners are crazy brave as they seem to know what is happening thank goodness I have to trust them to come up with a viable solution. Now if he can keep his mind on the task at hand and not on the handsome man here to evict the scary unmentionables; if at the end he only loses his heart and not his life he can count himself lucky. Braden knows two things ...One- Mack is adorably available ....two-They have a bigger problem than they expected with Mack's unwelcome Ghostly pals. Between trying to keep his new love interest safe and alive, at the same time keep his partners to a minimum of pain and sacrifice, they just might survive the job. Adrenaline pumping high it has made every moment between himself and Mack so much more intense and sweeter. Only once before he felt he had a lot to lose and that event left his life changed forever. Will meeting Mack have the same effect? He sure hopes so.
