Sorcery Forged

Is she my daughter? I protect her against steel and sorcery as though she is, and maybe it will give meaning to my life…

I may never learn the truth. Perhaps I don’t deserve to. But all I need to know is that her enemies seek her, and they will kill her if they can. That makes them my enemies, and I am Isarn the Invincible. A name to make them tremble.

Nor is she without power herself. And the druids come to our aid. Strands of destiny swirl through the very air we breathe, and lay before us a quest more dangerous than anything I have known.

For the land stands upon the brink, and the task fate sets me is just the first step to saving it. Yet my enemies know no limits, and unleash unspeakable magic.

Sorcery that even the goddess of evil forbids…

I am a man born in the wrong era. My heart yearns for faraway places and even further afield times. Tolkien had me at the beginning of The Hobbit when he said, ". . . one morning long ago in the quiet of the world . . ."

I love to read high fantasy and epic fantasy novels, and I have a passion to write, to weave a story with words that draws the reader into another world.

Good read

Enjoyable read but in my opinion not as good as book one but still kept me interested and ready for the next instalment. Just hope it concludes and not a never ending saga

It's okay to pass a few hours ...

BUT there is way too much repetition either in text " he was a gladiator", "he liked to be acclaimed" and so one ... but also in the plot it's always the same perpetual adventure "going to point A while being chased".

There is no explanation of why Arofel wants to be the only god, what will she be able to do with more power ?

We meet dwarfs, goblins and a country of druids, but they are not further described nor interacted with, they barely have individual names... and the only thing said about them is the very cliché of it nothing new ...

and I am skipping the fact that the "bad guys" while controlling a whole country and being directly helped by a god are not able to send more than a dozen people at time to counter "the most serious threat to the dark side"....

Sorcery Forged, book two of the Dream of the Druid series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). I really enjoy the relationship between Drom (aka: Isarn, the Invincible) and Ariane, is possible daughter. I found the first book more action filled and faster paced, there seemed to be a lot of wandering from place to place than story development. Still worth reading.

Now we have three following the quest to stop evil.

Is the Princess his daughter? Does their Druid guide hold the key to raising a God? They battle worldly foes but also have said from the dwarf scout. The staff is their next step.

Excellent continuation of the series! Action sequences continue to build. We get introduced to dwarves and goblins. We learn more about the world and the prophecy. The vizier is NOT a nice person - dabbles in some nasty magic. The staff is found!
