This “revised and expanded” edition is a great improvement over the first edition (which I liked even with its flaws).

This author is an automatic purchase for me. There is just something about her storytelling that draws me in every time. Her pacing is excellent, and there isn’t a lot of fluff in the story. For example, she might mention that a character went shopping for a dress, but the reader doesn’t have to suffer through a scene at the modiste. Yay!

I had read the draft (english translation) years ago and liked the story. Elizabeth is more mature and less prejudiced than in canon, but sadly still as sensitive (to perceived insults). Darcy is much more humble given recent tragedies than in canon, but sadly, still suffering from hoof-in-mouth. He improves in perspective as further tragic events unfold, but would likely have gotten there without the trauma and just some reflection I think.
This is a vastly improved edit/translation (even compared to the first edition that was published). I am quite impressed, the flow is quite natural now (there is more telling than showing, but it still works very well).
Kudos to the writer and the editor.

Beautiful and poignant.

I truly love this book. Sadness intermingled with happiness and fulfillment, to me are the very essence of this book. I highly recommend. This book is a keeper.

Poignant

A poignant and bittersweet variation inspired by Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice by Lorena DiChiara. I liked it.

At points this version is unbearably and tragic.
Crippled by expectations of society Darcy does not handle some things well.
But is a very good read I find I like this author very much.
