Hope teeters on the edge. Love refuses to follow rules. But timing changes everything.
With just six weeks until her baby is due, Wendy clings to the hope that a quiet Labor Day weekend with the Gilmores will give her mother the strength to hold on to meet the granddaughter she’s waited for. Amid the ticking clock of illness, Chris reaches out to Wendy’s younger brother, Zach, trying to break through his walls of anger. As they return home, Wendy continues to confront a betrayal too close to bear—her father’s lawsuit, accusing her of destroying his marriage.
As wedding plans move forward for her and Brad, Erica prays her daughter’s spinal cord injury will heal enough to allow her to stand as her maid of honor. But Abby is fighting her own stalled healing and the growing ache of letting Tommy go. She knows she must release him—but will he walk away for good, or choose to stay by her side?
Amanda’s life is a whirlwind of political tension and personal restraint. While managing a cutthroat district attorney campaign, she keeps her feelings for Gary, the campaign’s finance manager, at bay. With Sierra’s custody hearing adding stress and Millie’s impulsive bet raising stakes, Amanda is left to navigate a minefield of pressure and the possibility of romance. Until an unexpected event threatens to upend the life she’s worked so hard to control.

Whispers of Hope is an entertaining read that is great to enjoy on a vacation or just at home in the evening winding down after a day of work. It is easy to relate to the characters and to follow the many sub plots. When I received an advance copy of Whispers of Hope, I couldn’t wait to begin reading the latest developments with the extended family of Erica, Amanda, and Wendy. You might think that having already written six books in this series, by this seventh book the dramas Pat Nichol’s would be creating would be predictable. Not so! There are so many surprises in store for those of you who have been following the characters from the start. And, if you are just reading Whispers of Hope without having read earlier books in the series, don’t worry. Pat weaves background on each of the main characters beautifully into the opening characters. You will absolutely have no problem falling in love with the characters. My experience reading Whispers of Hope was a bit emotional. I often had tears in my eyes – both of joy and sadness. Each sub plot in Whispers of Hope touches upon events that we all can relate to emotionally. Once you start reading, you will find that you just want to keep reading to the end to find out how each mini drama in the book plays out. Warning! Not every drama has an ending by the last chapter. With one more volume to go, there are a few unfinished tales to keep us watching for volume eight. 😊
Pat Nichols left me wanting the next book in this fabulous series. Whispers of Hope book seven in her Blue Ridge series had every imaginable emotion. The story of the three wives we met in book one continues with emphasis on Wendy’s mom’s story, getting to know Wendy’s siblings, and a new little one added to the AWESOME family. I hesitate to say too much because I don’t want to ruin the story for you. Just know you are in for a treat, as always, when one reads one of Pat Nichols’ books. Of course, like the other books, we follow each of the main three characters and those who’ve come on the scene since they moved to Blue Ridge, Georgia. While many parts cause us to sit on the edge of our seats, Millie keeps things light, as usual. What will that woman dream up next? Then we have Abby, Erica’s daughter, making major decisions. Amanda meets a dreamy man, but will she let down her guard and let things progress? I won’t give it away, but I will say, the ending had me in tears, quickly followed by a gasp. You will just have to read it to find out why because I am not sharing that. Oh, my goodness! If you’ve not read this series yet, what are you waiting for? Begin with book one and fly through them because Pat writes quickly and I’m sure she’s already started writing book eight. Highly recommended. In full disclosure, I received an advance copy of this book with no expectations for a review of any kind. The opinions here are my own.
And the story continues. It was so much fun to catch up with all the Awesam ladies. Along with expecting a new baby, Wendy has lots going on with her mother and her new family. Abby is struggling with accepting her limitations. Erica is planning her wedding and Millie and Amanda are in a standoff regarding their dating situations. There’s never a dull moment in this series.
There are so many different emotions throughout this book. Pat Nichols has created a series that leaves you wanting more. Even if you haven’t read the rest of the series (but, please do), Pat tells the story in such a way that you will soon know all the characters’ backstories. The storylines are well developed and the characters are relatable. And, there is always a surprise or two.
I received this ARC from the author, but this review is purely my own opinion.
Love, loss and new life - book 7 has a bit of everything!
Get the tissues and pint of Rocky Road ice cream ready. The continuing drama of the Awesam ladies, tied together through their shared connection of a con man, continues to unfold and pull you into their twists and turns.
Wendy's new baby has a very special beginning, Erica's romantic dreams finally come true and Amanda is the next Awesam partner with a secret coming to light.
Millie continues to aggravate me, but her character is slowly becoming more endearing as we learn more about what makes her tick and be ticked off about, LOL.
New characters are introduced and other characters continue to grow in their unique circumstances. You won't want to miss this one!
I received an advanced copy and all opinions are mine.

4.5 stars. The AWESAM team returns The initial half to two-thirds of this book is rather anticlimactic, (making this reader wonder if Ms Nichols should have continued the series) as life seems to trundle along for each of the AWESAM team members, with minor notable occurrences or glitches along the way. The highlight is Millie who continues to entertain readers with her sassy attitude, especially when Amanda is present 😊. However, the pace suddenly increases in the latter chapters as Amanda, Erica and Wendy, and their extended ‘found family’, each experience major changes in their lives, readily drawing the reader back into the story with keen anticipation of the outcomes. This is a voluntary and honest opinion of a review copy I received from the author.
I want to pack my bags and move into the Hilltop Inn. Permanently. Perks include friendly hosts, gourmet meals, relaxing massages, gorgeous garden views, and opportunities to attend magnificent weddings. Inn visitors can hedge their bets on which romance will flourish first—Team Amanda or Team Millie. They can bite their nails during court proceedings, lobby for a local district attorney, and grieve the loss of a loved one. There’s non-stop action in the small town of Blue Ridge, and I can’t wait for the final book in this series.
Whispers of Hope is one of those rare stories that quietly steals your heart and leaves it softer, fuller, and wiser. Pat Nichols weaves together the lives of her characters with such grace and compassion that you can feel every heartbeat, every ache, and every small victory. Through Wendy’s strength, Erica’s faith, and Amanda’s courage, this book reminds us that even when life unravels, hope still whispers in the quietest corners. It’s beautifully written, deeply moving, and full of emotional truth. Pat Nichols doesn’t just tell a story, she lets you live it.
Oh, my goodness, my emotions got a workout with this one. These ladies – I want to be in their forever group. How fun is the back and forth between Amanda and Millie? The storyline of these ladies and their family just keep getting better. I love being here for all of them as they handle life. I’m already wondering how Our Mystery Club will handle their next case. I received an ARC of this book, but my opinion is my own.
The Blue Ridge Series is a phenomenal series. Start with the first book and you will rush out to get the second one. You will be totally hooked on the series and go get the next one. The books continue to get better as you go along. Pat Nichols’ latest in the series is Whispers of Hope, and brings along the past stories, tying thoughts together. I have read all of them as an Advanced Reader, am cannot recommend them highly enough. A fantastic series by a terrific author.
I received an ARC of this book. I just love this series! These stories are so uplifting but also have some surprising twists. The characters are endearing and the setting is awesome. Highly recommend!
This has to be the best series I have read. I can't believe this was book #7. Each book is different and can be a stand-alone, but I wouldn't recommend it. This book has it all -drama, humor, happiness and sadness all in one! I cannot wait until Book #8
