AM Wagner really knocked their story out of the park. This book was an emotional roller coaster, but in the best way possible. Even if I was sending angry messages as I was crying LOL.
The tension and mutual pining between the two had my heart hurting for them. Emery & Jax were truly made for each other. While they were both discovering what their future had in store for each other, Jax never gave up hope to get Emery her freedom. I also loved getting to see Jax's backstory more when it came to him and Emmett's relationship and how they got to where they were now.

DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE SPICE!! I was CHUGGING ice water because Jax's mouth was absolutely lethal!!!

The hint we got at the end of their story has me SOOOOO excited for what is to come in the next book!

Echoes of Emery is book four in the Fractured Souls series, and it follows Jax and Emery’s story.

AM Wagner delivered with this one. I’ve loved every book in this series, but… I think this one might just be my favorite.

Jax and Emery’s story is absolutely swoon-worthy. I loved every moment of their journey.

And let me just say—I really couldn’t stand Will or Emery’s parents.

If you enjoy a dark read, this one is definitely for you.

The emotional rollercoaster Emery and Jax put me through! Emery has been through so much but has kept it all hidden, trying to be the perfect daughter for her parents. Until she learns of her arranged marriage to Will, who has ties to the mafia. Jax and Emery have been smitten with each other since their first meet but Jax felt he was too old. When his boss needs him to work for his nephew, he's surprised to find out it's Emery's new fiance. Jax and Emery start a secret affair but when her family and fiance find out, many more secrets are revealed and Emery is taken. Can Jax save both of them from being unalived?

Echoes of Emery is the fourth book in the Fractured Souls series and I think this book is my favorite although I have said that with each book A.M. Wagner has released. I devoured Emery and Jax story and there was not a moment I was not sitting on the edge of my seat from all the twists and turns. Emery's life was awful, but the moment Jax laid eyes on her he knew they were meant to be together and it was not going to be easy especially with all of Emery's secrets. This story is dark, raw, spicy, emotional and if that is your type of romance than this is a must read.

ARC REVIEW 🔥

I love me some mafia, touch her and d*e vibes so this was right up my alley. Do I love man buns? No. But would I let Jax ruin my life? Probably. Emery, I get it girl I really do.

Picture this, you meet this handsome guy at a friends house one night by the fire. You feel the spark, and he consumes your thoughts, but you know it can never be more. Emery knew what her future held. Married off to someone of her parents choosing. But Jax? He hasn’t stopped thinking about her for the last year.

Both Jax and Emery know it can never work, but neither of them are willing to stay away from each other. I love how patient and understanding he is with her. And how much Emery feels safe with him. Even with the age gap and learning he has Mafia ties.

Don’t even get me started on his mouth.

Will is trash. Her dad is trash. Her mom? Gave me the ick every time she was in a scene. This couple definitely stole the show and even without reading the books before this one, I absolutely fell in love with all the main characters and their pasts. 10/10 will be reading the rest of the series. And GIRL I am excited about who’s coming next 👀

Thank you so much A.M. Wagner for letting me ARC read and review your work, it never disappoints! To say that I have been looking forward to Jax story, let's be real we all kept thinking about him ever since Remnants of Riley, would be an understatement.

Jax is the perfect cinnamon roll MMC who will do anything for the people he loves, even at the sacrifice of himself. But in the bedroom?! Jax leaves nothing to the imagination! The spice had me blushing and giggling, this man sure can dirty talk! Emery is the quiet, shy, and innocent FMC. She is constantly abused and put down by the people in her life who should love her unconditionally. She has spent her entire life being what they want her to be. She has one of the greatest character arcs I have read, you can see her slowly progress throughout the book into a strong, confident, and take what she wants woman!

Jax and Emery met at a party a year ago, and instantly hit it off, but after there was no communication between the two. Jax feels he is too old for Emery (13-year age gap) and that he is not good enough to deserve her and only bring her into his world of danger and darkness. Emery knows she can't be with Jax, she must be with someone her parents deem suitable and who will further her father's political gains. However, when their paths cross again, neither can deny the attraction, and how much they want each other, no matter the cost. Even if that cost could be their lives.

This book was so emotional, in the absolute best way. The longing these two feel for each other is unmatched. There was so much aching and yearning you felt it in your chest. And when they did get together? The spice! Phew, I don't know if you're ready for it, they even had me blushing! I also loved getting to see some of Jax and Emmett's history and the lengths they will go for one another. Once again A.M. Wagner manages to create a story with great characters, plot, and spice that will leave you wanting more! And the sneak peek at the final book in the Fractured Souls series has me squealing! I cannot wait!

ARC Read: alright, alright, alright (in matthew mcconaughey voice)….lets get into it……to say I was excited for Jax & Em’s story is an understatement…. My heart hurts so much for these two souls because they’ve been through so much throughout life. Emery is simply amazing and strong because growing up the way she did I cannot believe she even had a sweet bone in her body but that’s literally what she is, a fearless sweetheart despite what she thinks of herself. The chicken lady 😂 since she can’t have any living in the city she plants the idea of chickens to Riley and Tracy. (You’ll understand when you read this series)
And Jax… you can’t help but to love this man. I love him and Emmett’s ride or die friendship, because they are the literal definition of just that, practically brothers and would do anything for the other. Both those men putting the other’s happiness above their own. And that fierce protectiveness rolls to Emery. The way he tries to shield her from the mafia life that’s he’s tangled up in not realizing her family is just as tangled.
Oooooo man and the spice in this was WOW 🥵 perfecto 👌
I love the twist in this series and the suspense. I devoured each of these books and finished this one in a day because I could not put it down. There was a time that I thought my heart was going drop into my a**…..like seriously don’t do this to me, don’t do this to these deserving souls.
If you love a damn good dark romance with a mixture of mafia, suspense, spice, found family, thrill, then I cannot recommend this series enough…… and the fact that we get Vin’s story as the final book in the series (a Volettis) makes this even more exciting because you can’t help to wonder about the story behind him and how he’s such a calculated savage and I’m hoping we get a little more of his brothers as well (Enzo & Dario) in his story.
Gahhhhh and Harper the lilac haired tattoo artist 😳 this combo,,,,,, I’m so here for it.

This book had my stomach in knots of anticipation and dread (the good kind) with Jax and Emery. They’re everything and they deserve the world.

Emery’s life has been determined for her for as long as she can remember. She’ll be forced to marry a man who she doesn’t love and who doesn’t love all for her father’s political and financial gain. Jax had been obsessed with Emery since he first laid eyes on her. But she’s closed off and secretive, she keeps everything to herself. So imagine his surprise when he’s sent to work with a man who just so happens to be her fiance. He’ll do everything in his power to keep her safe, but in the end will it cost them their lives?

If I could wrap Emery up in a blanket and protect her from the world, I would. That girl has been through so much and never had a chance with the parents she had. All she wants is her freedom and love who she wants. She’s a tough and strong woman. Her confidence blossoms when she’s with Jax and those two deserve everything.

Jax is amazing, I knew I’d love his from when he first made his appearance in the first book. He’s been through his own trauma and has his own demons, but Emery’s safety was always his number one priority. He’s so soft and gentle with her, and is the nastiest freak when it comes to the bedroom with her. Talk about hot 🥵.

It’ll be interesting to see what Vin’s book has in store for us. He’s a complicated character, always so cold and heartless, but I think there’s a heart under the brick wall of ice surrounding him. I’d almost say he felt bad for what he did in this book, but I guess we’ll see.

For a year she resisted the pull he had towards her, but when she found out who her parents wanted her to marry, a man she has loathed for a decade, she decides to stop pretending, and allows herself to have the one thing she wants.

Jax knows better than to act on his attraction to Emery, especially after he finds out that she is to marry a man linked to the family who has kept him trapped since he was a child. But when he realizes that all his attempts to keep her away from the darker side of his life were in vain, he can no longer resist, even though he knows what the cost will be.

I received an early copy of this book from the author and devoured it in one morning. While on the fringe of the other books, I always knew there was more to these characters, and boy was there ever. Watching Emery go from a scared pawn to finding her strength through Jax, and having Jax willing to burn the world down and risk everything for her was absolutely everything. Their connection was undeniable and the spice was off the charts. Who knew Jax had such a k!nky side? There were some heavy topics in this book, but they were so beautifully woven into the story that they didn’t cheapen it in any way, and seeing how it all played out made it so worth it.

If you've been waiting for this book since Remnants of Riley (and let's be real, who hasn't?), prepare to be completely consumed. A.M. Wagner knocked this one out of the park with an emotional roller coaster full of ache, yearning, and explosive spice!

Emery is the sweet, quiet heroine who has spent her life being abused and manipulated by her family. But you will cheer as she undergoes one of the best character arcs I've ever read, transforming into a strong, confident woman who finally takes what she wants. And what she wants is Jax.

Jax is the perfect cinnamon roll MMC—soft, loyal, and utterly devoted to his found family. But in the bedroom? Jax is lethal! His dirty talk is next level, and the spice (especially that ice scene and Chapter 27 🥵) had me chugging water! Their dynamic is pure fire, even though they're kept apart by a 13-year age gap and the lethal ties of the mafia world. You feel every ounce of their longing and obsession.

This book is emotional, dark, and utterly gripping. It blends the dark romance suspense flawlessly with the story of a man who never gave up hope to get his woman her freedom. Plus, we get a peek into Jax and Emmett's amazing ride-or-die friendship! If you love a damn good dark romance with high-stakes forbidden love and a hero who is willing to risk everything for his angel, you need this.

And don't even get me started on the end! The hint we got has me SQUEALING for the final book in the series—I am so ready for Vin's story (and maybe a little more revenge)! 🤩

Jax has never followed the rules, except when it came to Gio Voletti. Being the leader of the mafia, Jax knew that to disobey Gio was a death wish. The one thing he never expected? Emery Carter, the shy, red head that he met at a housewarming party that set his soul on fire. He tried to stay away but when Gio puts him on a job in Virginia, he finds himself in close proximity to the girl he has spent years trying to avoid.

Jax and Emery's story is not an easy one, they have to fight for what they get. This book will have you laughing, crying and maybe even yelling (mostly at Jax). The story is beautiful though, it shows how hard some people have to fight to have the one they love and how the fight can pay off. It also shows you that nothing is always as it seems.

Riley and Emmett went through hell and back, Tracy and Blake lost so much and now Emery and Jax made it work against all odds.

Jax had a rough childhood and past, his life wasn't really his own. His step-dad was an abusive POS and his mom was an addict who didn't care about him enough.

Everything wasnt rainbows and sunshine for Jax and Emery but they faced the storms and came out the other side somehow.

Emery's family deserved a worse ending than what they got. Her mom was the absolute worst. I hated her from start to finish. Her dad couldn't care less.

Jax and Emery's romance was everything and more!! The ice scene was perfection and chapter 27 was 🥵🔥🫠 Jax knew how to make her tremble and beg...

I loved this book so freaking much, Tracy is my favorite 😍 she's so wild and untamed. She just wants her friend's happiness 😊 Their obsession with chickens is getting hilarious 😂

Im so happy for Tracy and Blake, they deserve all that happiness after everything they've been through.

I loved this book so much, everything was great. The characters, the story, the spice! Now Vin's book. He's a bad guy I love to hate. That epilogue gave me hope for more revenge lol I can't wait!!! I hope his brothers get a series!! I need to see them kill their asshole dad and Dario taking over 🫶🏽🤞🏽

I don’t even know how to breathe after finishing Echoes of Emery. A.M. Wagner ripped me open and stitched me back together by the end. I knew this story would consume me, and it did. It was beautifully tragic and I found myself crying more than once.

Reading this book felt like living inside Emery’s skin. I was screaming at her to run, even as I understood why she couldn’t. I ached with Jax, because every stolen glance carried the weight of destruction. And I was complicit in their rebellion, clutching the book like it might shatter if I let it go. Wagner makes you feel every ounce of desperation, every forbidden touch, and every whispered promise.

“He tasted like freedom, and I was starving.”

It’s not just about the romance between Jax and Emery, it’s about reclaiming yourself when the world has already decided who you belong to. Emery’s struggle against being treated as a pawn resonated so deeply, and her defiance felt like a victory I wanted to cheer for, even when I knew the cost.

The forbidden tension is unbearable in the best way. Every kiss feels like a crime, every touch like a confession. Jax’s obsession is terrifying and intoxicating all at once. “I’d burn the world if it meant keeping her.” I believed him, and that belief made me both swoon and shiver at the same time.

This isn’t just a love story. It’s a war between fate and desire, between cages and freedom. And as a reader, I was ruined right alongside Jax and Emery. If you want a romance that feels like bleeding and healing at the same time, Echoes of Emery will most definitely deliver.

Okay all you need to know is Jax is filthy perfection! The things this man says and does and the possessiveness of it all is just steamy and delicious.

I do want to warn all my book friends please please check your trigger warnings before reading. A.M Wagner pushes the boundaries of comfortable reading which is one of the reasons her books are amazing but I want all my friends to have happy reading experiences and I understand this venture into the dark and trauma based can be more than some want.

But serious Jax and Emery are soooooo freaking cute and perfect. This book has more of a Riley and Emmett feel to it than Blake and Tracy and a lot of that is because Jax and Emmett have a linked past present and future. Emery is not at all the character I thought she would be. From the other books in this standalone series I really had Emery pegged as a young naïve sheltered from the world girl who isn't ready for dark side of world that is Jax but, man was I wrong on so many levels. This book will keep you guessing and hating characters to the point your blood boils while you love others until you're a crying mess.

My heart broke on so many levels for Emery and Jax during this book. Having ties to the mafia is not for the faint of heart, and both of these two had had everything stacked against them.

When Emery is being pushed into an arranged marriage to Will (And trust me, I have a lot of not nice words about this man and her parents), she’s thrust into the mafia world where secrets linger, and nobody’s safe. But when Jax steps into the shadows to try to protect her, and selfishly trying to steal time with her, he discovers truths that have him seeing red. Will they be able to save one each other from a life they didn’t ask for, or will their feelings and ties destroy them before it’s too late?

Even being part of the Mafia world, Emery and Jax are just too sweet for all they endured. Emery’s strength through everything was truly admirable, and there were so many times I wanted to pull her from the pages and hug her. And when she had the chance to finally be herself, she was a spit fire! And Jax? He wears his heart on his sleeve and will risk everything, his life included, for those he loves. Emery included.

This review has been hard for me. Not because I didn’t like it because I loved Jax and Emery’s story. Jax was my favorite side character in book one, and I’ve been waiting not so patiently for his book. See Jax is the perfect book boyfriend.

Jax and Emery have been building up since book one. Emery is 13 years younger than Jax and the girls life is beyond complex. That’s putting it nicely (check the triggers!) Jax’s past is full of trauma and his life now is living on the edge waiting for the bottom to drop. Things are going to get really complicated when Jax and Emery find themselves in the same circle, and Jax realizes Emery’s life is anything but safe. He will do whatever it takes to protect her.

The chemistry between these two had me in a chokehold. Seriously the emotional roller coaster A.M. Wagner put me through, just wrong. There are multiple villains in this one I don’t know which one I disliked more. When you read it you will understand, the villains are just that bad.

I swear, I can’t decide so far who’s my favorite couple out of this entire series!! @author.a.m.wagner writing style is just that GOOD🙌🏻!
Echoes of Emery is the 4th book in the Fractured Souls Series and it follows Emery and Jax. Emery is a daughter of a nasty senator who has this epic crush on Jax’s. But she knows she can never act of it given their age gap and also due to her parents. You see, poor Emery’s future has been mapped out to marry her father’s right hand Will. Only problem is, she doesn’t know of his involved with mafia Jax’s is close with. What happens when Emery and Jax’s finally allow themselves to fall for each other? Let me tell you, this book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions!! The chemistry between the 2 main characters was hot and spicy 🥵!! The plot and story line was everything and more. I love this author’s ability to suck you in and want more! This book does have a happy ending but please check triggers. This book can be heavy for some. But I’m excited Vin is getting his own book!!! Ahhh I’m looking forward to his for sure!!

I’m not normally a fan with cheating tropes but this one was justified.

Emery has grown up abused and unloved by her parents. Her purpose in life is to help her family’s political gain and advancement. This includes becoming engaged to a business partner of her father’s.

Jax earned ties to the mafia ensuring Emmet would be able to live out his life with Riley. As much as he wants to be done with the Volenti family, it seems they have no intentions of letting him go.

Things take a wild turn when Jax learns the man he will be working alongside is none of their than Emery’s fiancé. The illegal transaction run deeper and more nefarious than Jax thought. Especially when he learns the political influence ties directly in with the mafia and Emery’s life. Jax and Emery are playing a very dangerous game.

This is the fourth book of the Fractured Souls storyline. While all books can be read before, this can also be read as a standalone.

This is the best book ever! I was hooked the moment I started reading the fractures soul series and just knew Jax’s story was going to be everything you needed and more! I love the story line, and how emotional this book was, you have such deep feelings and hurt that happen in this book and you also have the spiciest scenes that just wrap up everything into the perfect book!
Jax is my favorite now but I always say that about the men in these books. lol they are the perfect book boyfriends! Emery deserves the world after everything that she went through in her life and I love that she found Jax to help love through someone of it. And to help her get out of the pain she has been in! They truly are the perfect couple for each other. They compliment each other so well and work in a way that you think wouldn’t. This is the best book and everyone needs to read it

A.M Wagner’s books are the kind that you honestly can’t put down. If it wasn’t for my work schedule, I would’ve finished this book within eight hours.

She never fails to make me cry like a baby. Once again, another heartbreaking story that puts you back together again. I love Jax and Emery they’re the most beautiful couple and I love how Jax adores her. Emery has found her true family and people that will protect her until the end of time!

And boy oh boy now that we know who’s Vins love interest is I CAN NOT WAIT. It’s bittersweet too know that the series it’s coming to an end. I started the series earlier this year and I have read each and every one of them as soon as the book was available and I don’t know what I’m going to do next year when the last book comes out. This is a series that I would recommend every single time.

Honestly, I have no words to express my feelings for this book. It was emotional, suspenseful, and kept me on edge the entire time, wondering how everything would unfold. Jax may be a charming cinnamon roll on the surface, but underneath, he’s just as ruthless, willing to protect and sacrifice for Emery. I liked Emery’s growth throughout the book, how she learns to love herself and truly step into her strength.
The yearning between her and Jax was so sweet, but the spice will have your jaw on the floor. I loved the cameos from other characters as well as getting more insight into Jax and Emmett’s history. And now that we’re getting Vin’s story, I cannot wait. Not to mention the way I screamed when I found out who the FMC is. I absolutely recommend this series if you enjoy mafia, stalking, suspense, found family, and obsessive men.

Okay wow!

So first and foremost this is book four of the Fractured Souls Series, and we initially met Emery in passing in the first book. They’re all basically interconnected but as we got each book we learned more and more about characters we only met on a surface level in previous books. You’ll also know Jax fairly well from the first book, but we discover just how much of a cinnamon roll he is in this one, until he’s not of course.

If you’re a fan of yearning, darker themes, and two broken souls with burn the world down for each other mentality then you’ll love Jax and Emery.

I highly recommend reading the series in the recommended reading order so that you don’t give yourself any spoilers but all in all if you like it dark and have a habit of falling in love with side characters? Fear not because with this series you get books about them.

Emery is the senator's daughter and has been punished and forced into line her whole life and is now being forced to marry a man her father chooses and one that is willing to carry on punishing her but one night with friends and Emery meets Jax, the older , hotter , rough around the edges man she instantly feels a connection with but knows she can never have. Jax is doing everything he can to keep his friends safe and away from the mafia but once he meets Emery he will do anything to make her his and in doing so risks his own life. This was a great read and the 4th book in the series , I love how these stories develop and all the main characters from each book are friends. It's heartbreaking what they go through and im glad it ends on a plus.

This series is by far one of my all time favorites. A.M. Wagner never disappoints. Emery is just a meek girl living her life that her family had laid out for her. No one could ever imagine the hell she was living and how it was only about to get so much worse.

Then Jax. this handsome friend of Emmett who working for the mafia to pay off Emmett's debt. He has been head of heels for Emery for so long but doesn't want her to have a chance to get pulled into what he's dealing with.

But life has a funny way of bringing people together. Just when I thought this series couldn't get hotter.... the spice is definitely there! This book was an immediate buy for me as soon as released!

echoes of emery

I swear my heart broke into a thousand pieces with Jax and Emery’s story. Honestly there’s just sooo many layers and twists we literally don’t see coming that it keeps you on your toes. I mean we already knew they were destined if you read the previous books in the series but never did I think it would all go down the way it did. Poor Emery suffered through so much and I still think those who hurt her didn’t suffer enough for what they did but that’s just me. Jax’s words and what he said to the one person who betrayed him still haunt me. I love this series for so much and cannot wait for what’s coming next.

The passion and banter between them was incredible. His patience with her, once he let his walls down, was the definition of a cinnamon roll boyfriend. But everything is against them. AM Wagner definitely delivered with this one

This book was definitely an emotional roller coaster but in a best way.
The tension and mutual pinning between the two characters had my heart hurting for them.
But while they were both discovering what their future had in store for them, Jax never gave up hope to get Emery her freedom.
I also loved reading Jax’s backstory.
The spice was definitely spicing. Jax’s mouth was lethal and I devoured it.

Jax and Emery’s story was definitely swoon worthy I enjoyed every moment in their journey.

I absolutely loved Jax and Emery's story, definitely my favorite one. Jax and Emery meet at a party and sparks fly. But then they go their separate ways and try to forget about each other. But the mafia life has brought them back together, without even knowing it was going to happen. Their chemistry was on fire and they just couldn't stay away. The spice was so good and I didn't see Jax having that in him. I felt so bad for Emery for what she went through with her parents, especially her father who is so controlling. Wagner is an amazing writer and they just keep getting better.

amazing tragedy

Everytime Every single time she gets me. A.M does a phenomenal job in her books. I always end up holding my breath just waiting for the other show to drop, then I’m crying like a baby and ready to launch my kindle across the room. This book had me one scene nearly destroyed me. No spoilers here Highly Highly suggest reading these in order because the ride she is taken you on is so worth it. Please read trigger warnings as book carry some heavy topics. A.M is definitely a top 2025 author for me.
