Another gorgeously escapist Nantucket novel from the USA Today bestselling author of NANTUCKET SUMMER.
When three estranged friends, Emmy, Margot, and Tessa, return to Nantucket for the first time in decades, it’s not for a reunion. It’s for Lauren. The fourth member of their once-inseparable group has passed unexpectedly, leaving behind a final revisit the place where their friendship began - and finish what they started.Waiting for them on the island is The Dune Deck, the weatherworn sunset bar that once held their best memories. Run by Lila, who’s facing a decision of her sell the bar and leave the past behind, or fight for the dream she and her late husband built.
As the trip unfolds in a blur of sun-drenched days, late-night swims, and long-overdue truths, each woman must confront who she was, who she is, and who she wants to become. Because sometimes the only way to move forward... is to return to where it all began.
Melissa Hill is a USA Today bestselling author living in Ireland’s beautiful County Wicklow. Her page-turning contemporary novels of family, friendship and romance are published worldwide and have been translated into twenty-six languages.
A Hollywood adaptation of her international bestseller Something from Tiffany's, by Reese Witherspoon's production company Hello Sunshine and Amazon Studios, was released worldwide in Dec 2022.

This is the second of Hill's Nantucket series I've read. The story was marginally interesting. I had a difficult time caring about Tessa's story - but I don't understand the influencer celebrity in general.
The editing was abysmal - especially the last third of the book. Did Margot meet Robert or Richard? In one section she met Robert at the Chicken Box. Later in the book the name switched to Richard. There were several egregious misspellings of common words as well. It all added to a sloppy ending. OH! Can an ex-husband just STOP making court ordered payments without some sort of immediate legal recourse? But in this novel the "judge refused to hold an emergency hearing???"
This is a story of the love & friendship & journey of four friends who were once very close before they parted - each following her dream. Many years later as she was terminally ill, Lauren, one of those friends, writes each one an insightful & loving letter, which they receive a short time after she has died. Loren was a very special woman whose love & deep insight had spurred her to reach out to her friends in a dying request with a multifaceted challenge that none of them could have foreseen! And what she truly leaves them all are priceless gifts of truth, revelation and love. Are they up to the challenge? I loved this story and loved its ending even more. A very insightful novel of loss, romance and new beginnings.
This book held alot of different feelings that I imagine many readers have experienced at some point in their lives. Definitely a fantastic book!! I find myself wanting to step back and evaluate what I was like in younger years to where I am now and what changes need to be made. Very thoughtful read.
Great story. I like the way the author describes the environment & the characters. I felt like I could see those beautiful sunsets. I could relate to some of the personalities, especially how we can convince ourselves of our motives but we need to look deeper. I know I will enjoy this series!!
A little too long but overall a good book. I am addicted to books about islands - Nantucket, Sullivan's, Key West and so many others. Thankfully not all of the main characters ended up with a new or renewed love interest by the end. A woman doesn't need a man to have a happy, fulfulling life. A beautiful island suffices quite nicely.
I enjoyed setting of novel. 3 friends honor late friend request by going back to where they were friends. They relearn about each other and themselves. Some parts of the story seem unrealistic.
I managed to make about half way thru this book. I found it extremely depressing. I am sure the author is trying to make a point, but when I read a book, it is for fun and cheery entertainment...not.to walk away wondering why I read it because it is so negative
