Infection. Invasion. Chaos. More than a decade ago, a weaponized virus ravaged America, somehow leaving children and young adults unscathed. Hundreds of millions died, but for those left, surviving the attack was only the beginning…
The embers of the brutal Castleton conflict still glow, but for Luke, Jack, and the allied forces of Manchester, Albany, and Ashland, the fight is far from over. Victory was costly, and General Hao’s unyielding shadow stretches longer than ever, threatening to engulf all they’ve fought to protect.
Back in Manchester, Isaac’s fate rests on a knife’s edge, the victim of a shocking betrayal that has ripped through the heart of their leadership. The architect of this treachery, Julian, is now a desperate fugitive, racing towards Hao with secrets that he hopes will buy his safety.

Outstanding, I’ve loved every book in this series. Characters are engaging and plot is good. I read this in one sitting, holding my breath most of the time. Really hope there is another in the series because this could go on for years. I’d also love to see it made into a TV series because if done correctly it could be as big as “Walking Dead”. Highly recommend reading from book 1.
You get to know the characters. They remain consistent in their personalities as new developments require responses. Some unexpected turns before a happy ending.
